This used to be one of my favorite places to go to satisfy my sweet tooth - sometimes visiting multiple times per week. Despite their 3 cookie minimum and sometimes having to pop the cookies in the oven to cook a little bit more, I still really really liked this place. The cookies were pretty consistently warm and soft. Unfortunately, due to poor service, I won't be back. We went one night after dinner (December) and the cookies were cold and hard and crunchy - which was a first. I immediately went back in and asked for the cookies to be replaced and was told that they'd turned the main warmers off and were only using the countertop one, so all the cookies would be that way. I asked for a refund and the cashier said they didn't have the permissions to do that. Eventually, she got on the phone with who I assume to be a manager and relayed to me that I should go online and fill out the contact form. I did it immediately and literally heard nothing back for a month. I tried to be patient, but in January, I called concerning my refund and was just told matter-of-factly and repeatedly, "There's nothing I can do. There's nothing I can do." In February, I re-did the contact form and received a standard template e-mail reply from the owner, offering no solution. After that one e-mail, he never replied again. I followed up three weeks in a row and was ignored. Eventually, the owner texted me saying he normally doesn't do refunds based on preference but he'd replace the cookies as a one time courtesy... Uhh, you are NOT doing me a favor by giving me the product I literally paid you for! After, I replied with a date/time, he never replied or even thumbs upped to confirm he'd read, so at that point, I officially let the situation go. Yes, it's "only $12", but to pay a business and leave empty handed because the product is piss poor quality is absolutely not right. And for them to think you're just supposed to be okay with it, when is also not right. Sometimes I still crave their cookies, but I won't patronize a business with such poor customer service. read more

Best DoorDash experience and great cookies! I love using DoorDash to experience food from the area I am in if I can not leave due to no car or something along those lines. We were visiting friends in Richmond and I was hoping to find something for dessert to share with others. I came across Red Eye Cookie. I ordered through DoorDash with no issues. It was delivered promptly and they were still slightly warm so chocolate chips were still soft and ooey gooey! The cookies were a large medium.... Is that even a size? Ha! Well I made it up and I am sure you get what I am saying. But, what is important is that they were scrumptious!!! They are definitely worth it. I discovered Red Eye Cookie through a quick Yelp search for dessert after having drinks down the street at Barcode. I must say, the cookies here give me life; they're much better than Insomnia. They were so good I had to go here twice during my July 4th weekend trip to Richmond. In addition to traditional cookie flavors like chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin, this place also offers unique flavors like cookies & cream, maple apple walnut, and their namesake red eye (red velvet & espresso flavor.) While all their flavors are bussin', I must say that the cookies n cream were my favorite. For those of you who may not be familiar, you're only allowed to order up to a half dozen when you walk in, and any cookies beyond that you have to wait about 20 minutes for, so take advantage of their online ordering if you want to order more than six. I honestly would've waited for more cookies, but I had to get on the highway to beat that infamous I-64 traffic. Shoutout to the owner, Brayden, who let me get two additional free cookies in addition to the half dozen I bought (one for being posted on their story and another for signing up for their rewards program.) All the friends I was able to share the cookies I bought with down in Hampton Roads loved them as well. There was a buy 2 get 1 free deal with Yelp check-in, so I got myself 2 chocolate chip cookies and one snickerdoodle, just to check out their original cookies. The cookies were pretty good and I loved how it was cripsy on the edges and very chewy/moist on the inside. The amount of actual chocolate in my cookie was pretty solid! I also got to try my friend's cookies and creme and that was delicious too! What really surprised me is that when I reheated one of my cookies, it still had a similar texture to when I first purchased it! It's 100% worth it!!! So good! It's balanced in terms of flavor. The cinnamon and sugar have a good ratio. It's not too sweet nor too spicy. The texture (I microwaved it after freezing it because I saved it) was fluffy yet chewy- the way I love my cookies whenever I'm craving carbs. The flavor and texture were just overall amazing and the cookie made me satisfied. I didn't feel too full or guilty after eating it but I was happy with my decision. Stopped by to give this place a try, well because why the hell not and who doesn't love cookies?! The staff was extremely friendly and gave a great description of each cookie. The cookies were the perfect texture (gooey and soft) and for it being so late at night, the cookies were fresh and piping hot in the box. Loved the overall menu and texture. I had a GREAT experience with Red Eye yesterday! Quarantine has left me 1) needing more cookies than usual, and 2) wanting to support as many local businesses as possible, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered a dozen mixed and a cookie cake through their delivery service. I live on the north side of town and they showed up within a half hour! Yes I paid for it but it was nice! All the cookies were scrumptious. My favorites were: 1) cookies and cream tied with 2) snickerdoodle (I usually am not a fan but these are amazing), tied with 3) macadamia nut/white chocolate, 4) followed by the cookie cake/chocolate chip. Weirdly the red eye cookie was not for me--it's good but a little too much espresso. It's fun having someone show up with cookies at your door. This is every pregnant women's dream! This would be a dream and disaster to have it was located closely to my house. The interior of the tiny bakery was small, it was not pretty but they had a very minimal seating area for the wait. The menu is a good selection and the cost for the cookie is about normal, with just an extra $1 more for the premium flavored cookes for $3 and the classic cookie for $2. Luckily, the yelp app had a promotion of buying 2 cookies and u get one free. I went for half a dozen and I got an extra courtesy to yelp equaling 7 cookies. I had to be greedy and eat two cookies. The red eye and the cookies and cream! They were sweet, warm and gooey. Milk is a necessity for dunking. The cookies were awesome. Was it to die for? I guess late at night when it's necessary. I think i had a early sugar rush to the brain. Are they the best cookie in the world? Meh, still have to find it. Have you and your significant other have late night cravings!? Well yesterday my girlfriend and I did... she was in the mood for cookies. At first she wanted insomnia cookies so we went and it was closed ( which I believe was a sign). I suggested red eye which was across the street. This cookie place is in the perfect spot on campus next to a convenient store and around the corner from many food places. We ended up getting the White macadamia , Oatmeal raisin and classic Chocolate chip. When you take out the cookie from the sleeve it starts to fall apart not like your life but like a warm piece of heaven you are grabbing. My personal favorite was the Macadamia nuts , it had lots of wonderful flavors and we added ice cream on top *Forget about it ). The Oatmeal raisin was hitting ( but was missing a slight more cinnamon). The OG chocolate chip was delicious as well. I never give a place a 5 out of 5. This place looks very humble outside and inside, BUT smells delicious. I loved that when I walked in no one was around but seconds later a young guy who obviously had been working with some flour came out. He was very friendly and when I asked him for his favorite cookies he recommended the Cookies and Cream which we got.
