    Chicken sandwich and shrimp
    Tee B.

Service: 5/5 our waitress was amazing! She helped us navigate thru the extensive menu! She made suggestions and also checked in often! Food: 2/5, our waitress stated the sausage dip was popular so we gave a try, super thick with a ton of rotel, light on the sausage but tasty. It was advertised to have fresh chips but they were clearly semi stale bagged chips. We asked for jalapeños which did make the dip better. I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries where the sandwich consisted of two over fried chicken tenders and toppings. The bun was decent but the chicken was temperature hot but super well done. Fried tho seasoned well were cold. My mom ordered the fried shrimp which were good sized and temp hot but again over cooked, same issue with the fries..cold. Our waitress did make it right by bringing hot fries, we made due with the over cooked entrees and ate what we could. My daughter ordered two other items which were slated as popular the wings and breakfast burger. She stated the wings were great tho they are not sauced (they bring you your choice of sauce), tater tots again were cold and the burger was just ok seasoned well but nothing to write home about. Ambiance: 3/5 local sports bar vibes. Plenty of tvs with an array of sports playing.

The wings are amazing and have plenty of sauce on them if you tell them the flavor you want. The beer is cold and prices are fair.

Jalapeño poppers are lousy, for 7 dollars you'd think you get more than precooked frozen ones‍.

A must stop in the downtown Richmond area!…read more It's truly a speakeasy with the door posing as a bookshelf. To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

It was cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp andouille. It was delicious. We were greeted cheerfully at the door. The wait staff was very good. The restaurant had moderate noise since there was a large party celebrating a birthday. But I was impressed that there were obvious regulars at the bar. The biggest impression they made was calling me after I left a personal item on the seat next to me. While it wasn't something of large value, the fact that they found my number from the reservation and called meant so much to me. Highly recommend

I was there for a private event. The crowd was warm and wonderfully mixed. There was a little chat before the event began that basically told us to not get kicked out by being mean or non-inclusive. Not sure how I felt about that. Parking in Carytown is its own contact sport. Come early -- your blood pressure will thank you. I parked 6 blocks away and was lucky to get that. Bottom line: Weird, welcoming, and worth every lap around the block looking for a spot if you're into crowds and are looking for something different.

The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.

I got a sangria which was a large size but very wine heavy and not as sweet as I typically like them. The crab cake sliders were the highlight - absolutely delicious and a unique combination. We started off with the crab fritters for our first course, which was done with the right amount of crispiness and flavor I was honestly impressed. We order cocktails too, but after ordering a couple different drinks we both agreed we weren't enthusiastic about them as most drink drinks felt pretty weak. For the second course, I ordered the steak and she ordered the braised beef short rib, which, after trying both I wish I had gone with the short rib, I was honestly jealous that I didn't order that too. For the third course we finished with dessert she ordered the chocolate mousse, which was honestly some of the best mousse I've had in a while. I ordered the tiramisu and this was probably the best tiramisu I've had; I wish I had ordered it three or four times. Revel has good vibes and the staff is really nice. It's a small spot (parking can be tight), but definitely feels really homey. I definitely plan on coming back for the food and that tiramisu.

SO good, favorite spot of our Richmond trip!…read more My brother and I were looking for late night oysters. Sadly when we came in Wednesday night at 9 PM, we were told they were only serving drinks at that time. I emailed the restaurant and was informed that on most nights, they indeed close the kitchen and only serve drinks after 9 PM, but that on weekends they'll keep the kitchen open longer. I'm so glad we came back on our last day of the trip. It was a Thursday night at 7:45 PM and pretty full. Thankfully, there were some seats at the bar which we preferred anyways since you got to watch the oysters get shucked right in front of you. We ordered the bread service, and though it said house cultured butter OR whipped beef tallow, our kind server made sure to ask if we wanted one or both (the answer was both, of course!). We also got 4 Virginia oysters (appreciate not being forced to order in increments of 6 or 12), chargrilled oysters, and "dessert tonight" which ended up being the most perfect chocolate cake (I think it was describe as something else, but my memory fails me) with a white chocolate ganache-like topping and pistachios *swoon*. I tried the wine of the day which was an orange wine that it was a nice not-too-sweet, not too dry wine. I'd recommend it with a pasta or fish. Our server (didn't catch his name but he had a nice brown sweater and a beanie, receipt says Taylor so maybe that's his name?) was so nice! Great vibes all around from the interior to the bathroom to the service. Would definitely come back.

The bread and butter were magnificent (dangerously so), and the mushroom soup was deep, velvety, and soul-warming. The veal was top-notch--tender, elegant, and clearly in the hands of a confident kitchen. And the French martini? Just right. Balanced, cold, and quietly glamorous--the kind of drink that makes you linger a little longer and plot your return.
