Loved it when it first opened, but it is steadily going down hill. Food started out great, but know very inconsistent. Got a takeout burger with Bleu Cheese, medium, a couple weeks ago. Got home and it was burned to a crisp. Barely any cheese and that had some red seasoning of some sort. Fries were cold and soggy. Even the trash can didn't like it. Service is pretty good, but lacking numbers. Usually only one server and a bartender. Can't handled when busy. Kitchen staff needs an overhaul. I fear this place is headed for closing, which is a shame. Was a great place when it opened. read more

I should have been concerned when I first walked in. It was championship week for all NCAA basketball leagues. And this was a sports bar that was almost empty. I didn't think about it. I should have, It's the usual sports bar vibe. Lots of TVs are tuned to different games. The menu has the usual bar food--wings, burgers, etc. The food is underwhelming. I ordered mild buffalo wings and fries. My wife orders nachos. The fries and wings come out a little overcooked, but that wasn't the real issue. The wings come out nearly unsauced. The buffalo wing sauce is served as a dipping sauce because, I am told, the sauce "falls off" the wings into the dish, so they give you extra to dip. Huh? Yep, there is a puddle of sauce under the wings. The sauce appears to have indeed fallen off. I have eaten A LOT of wings in my time. Never once has anyone said the sauce falls off. While I did not deeply analyze the problem, I feel confident that the issue is that the kitchen is just doing it wrong. Be that as it may, this may be a blessing in disguise because the sauce is wretched. The wings that are unsauced are dramatically better than using the sauce, even if they are a little overdone--edible and OK, just a little too long in the fryer. The fries have the same issue. Too long in the fryer. It goes beyond crisp to unpleasant. Again, edible, but not great. My wife's nachos were also OK. Nothing particularly special or good. Slightly below par. We don't give up, though--although we should. We ordered the funnel fries dessert which is funnel cake fries covered in powdered sugar and served with a chocolate dipping sauce. Like the other fried food, this comes out overcooked--some of the fries are so overcooked they crunch like a cracker. And the chocolate sauce could put me off chocolate permanently. It is bitter and nasty. When we mention to the server that they are overdone, she says, "Sorry," and wanders off. I give it two stars because we did eat the food, but the kitchen is clueless, the service is indifferent, and the fact that the place was empty on what was a strong sports night may indicate I am not alone in how I view it. For some reason the several times I've come before I have ordered the Tater tots. But today I ordered the fries and oh man was I happy. Turns out they bake their own seasoning in house. Definitely recommend getting the fries if you are here. read more

Generally the service is good and the food is consistently just below average to average. The prices are good and beer is cold. On 11/6/25 I stopped in for dinner. I had a 45 minute window to eat, which is normally enough. After 10 minutes and no menu and no hint I'd be getting service despite at least 3 wait staff and a half empty dinning room, I decided to eat at Don Pedros. I'm not sure what the issue is/was but I'm not rushing back to find out. Finally, avoid Friday evenings unless you love trivia games. Service: 5/5 our waitress was amazing! She helped us navigate thru the extensive menu! She made suggestions and also checked in often! Food: 2/5, our waitress stated the sausage dip was popular so we gave a try, super thick with a ton of rotel, light on the sausage but tasty. It was advertised to have fresh chips but they were clearly semi stale bagged chips. We asked for jalapeños which did make the dip better. I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries where the sandwich consisted of two over fried chicken tenders and toppings. The bun was decent but the chicken was temperature hot but super well done. Fried tho seasoned well were cold. My mom ordered the fried shrimp which were good sized and temp hot but again over cooked, same issue with the fries..cold. Our waitress did make it right by bringing hot fries, we made due with the over cooked entrees and ate what we could. My daughter ordered two other items which were slated as popular the wings and breakfast burger. She stated the wings were great tho they are not sauced (they bring you your choice of sauce), tater tots again were cold and the burger was just ok seasoned well but nothing to write home about. I was looking for a place to get a quick burger on my way to run some errands and decided to try this place. Lots of large screen TVs for sports watching. Lots of 90s music playing on the speakers. The place was relatively dark inside. Kind of a divey sports bar, essentially. I sat in a booth. It seemed to be full of an older crowd of what appeared to be regulars at the bar and a few families at the booths and tables. I think I saw something on the message board outside the place indicate that kids eat free certain nights with the purchase of an adult meal, which is a real plus for families. The place was not overly busy. I wasn't too keen on the ambiance, but I wanted to try the food to give it a chance. I tried the burger and was quite surprised at how good it was. I have read some of these poor reviews for this place and not sure I can agree with them in terms of the menu item that I tasted. The fries were average but the burger was perfectly cooked, decent size, and quite tasty. For a burger, fries, and soda it was like $14 or so including tax, which is very reasonably priced for the quality. Plus they had the option to Build Your Own Burger with lots of topping options and various sauces/condiments. They say in their menu the burgers are fresh and mine tasted fresh, definitely not frozen. I ordered a soda and it had a bit of a strange taste to it. Then again I got a Pepsi, which I actually never get so that could have been my fault. Probably best to go with beer at this place would be my guess. Regardless, I enjoyed the burger. The service however, in addition to the relatively dark and plain ambiance, was why I give this place 3 stars rather than four. Don't get me wrong, the servers were extremely nice. However they disappeared for a long while and I didn't even get asked whether I wanted a drink refill until I was ready to pay. Literally every server in the place, plus the bartender, disappeared for about 10 minutes or so. I found that to be a bit bizarre. The place wasn't empty...there were a dozen people at the bar and about five or six different groups at tables waiting for the servers to re-emerge. So that was a minus. I think this place definitely has potential, however. First, though, the lighting should be better...and the servers should appear and check on tables more frequently. Those are just some helpful tips. I didn't get the sense this place is going out of their way to attract new customers. They seem content with their existing clientele of regulars. That seems to work for them as a typical sports bar. But I would suggest maybe they focus on creating a cooler, more modern ambiance and have more attentive service in order to grow their customer base further. Especially since they have the makings of a really solid burger. I have had lots of burgers in RVA...this one is right up there, believe it or not. I may give this place another shot and bring more people with me next time but I would love to see them up their game. read more

When Salty Pig closed and this took its place, we were excited to give it a try, On first visit, food was just average for bar food but not bad. Tonight was our second visit and it was way below average. New cook? We ordered pastrami and swiss sandwich, dry rub wings, cheeseburger and loaded fries. Pastrami sandwich was soaked with hot, dark mustard (soggy bread), wings were nearly inedible due to salt, loaded fries were topped with dry cheese - not tasty at all. Cheeseburger was decent. When the waitress asked us if we enjoyed our food, I commented that the pastrami sandwich was not good and she could clearly see that it wasn't eaten - enough that she commented that she was sorry. Did not mention the wings or the fries. Although we did not ask for an adjustment, a good policy would have been to offer a discount or something. We were charged full price. This second visit was our last, unfortunately. Suggestion: Pick dishes you can do well - stick with the basics and read the Yelp reviews to make improvements. Bar food can be done well, and we certainly hope this place manages to improve the quality of its food. Otherwise, they will not be open very long. read more

Just stopped in to have an after dinner drink. Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender. I had a beer and my wife, white wine. The place was buzzing with trivia night (Wednesdays). Met the owner and had a nice chat. The staff was very friendly. Reasonable priced. We will be back for food later. Enjoyed the atmosphere read more

I got the breakfast burger and it was cooked perfectly. No picture, I ate it too fast.

Tonight I ordered 2 buffalo chicken wraps to go for pickup. Got home to find they put horse radish sauce instead of blue cheese with them , onion rings with the one order all burnt, and the other with fries had way to much salt. It's as if they tried to make it bad. Never had this bad from here before. With the price of food these days, I am completely disappointed. Spent $31.00 and really got nothing good. read more

I wanted so much for this place to be good and it falls short. I have been 4 times and at this point it's off the list of possible places to eat. Food is not good. The chicken wings are always over cooked and dried out. I have ordered them on each occasion and they are just bad. Mentioned it to the server and manager and they agree, but never solve the problem. Other food is your standard bar food, nothing to get excited about. To add to the bad food the tables are very small and the chairs are as uncomfortable as possible. Service is also lacking. I dismissed it the first visit because it was a new place. It continues to be bad after months of being open. The wait staff runs around with no purpose and could use some simple training of when to check back on tables. And to get bar drinks when they are ordered. On each occasion I have had to remind the server my beer is sitting at the bar waiting. I would like for them to be successful, more options on places to eat is always good. Suggestions - Cook the simple things correctly. Train your waitstaff with basic timings of service. Have bartenders or other servers work together to deliver dinks instead of just sitting at the end of the bar. read more

I ordered fried shrimp and tater tots. The shrimp were half flat ones and half round. There was a distinct difference in taste and texture. I didn't like the rounded ones at all. My husband had big daddy dog with chili. Neither the dog nor the chili were to our taste. Also no coke products!! Pretty typical sports bar and grill and not even the best in our opinion. read more

I got the grilled chicken wrap which tasted like frozen chicken from a bag at the grocery store. When the wrap came out it only had lettuce and chicken inside of it. Not even cheese or a dressing. Not kidding. Our waitress seemed like she had no desire to be at work, or helping others, she never smiled. For a side, I got the potato chips- subpar and very salty in my opinion. The energy inside the restaurant was so dead. We were the ONLY people seated to eat on a Saturday night. Will never eat here again.
