No better in Loudoun Country! Love the Chicken Fried Rice and Sesame Chicken. Chicken is so fresh.

We tried Yens twice before leaving a review. Sadly, we were only able to eat the food once - it never arrived the first time. We heard great things about the restaurant so we decided to order delivery. After nearly an hour and no food in sight, we called the restaurant. The owner said we had input our address wrong and the driver had to come back to the restaurant and try to find our house. (I checked and we had, in fact, switched two letters in our street name.) They had our phone number, I don't know why they didn't just call us and ask rather than drag our food back to the restaurant. But, she said, the driver had already left and was very close to our house. After thirty more minutes the driver still had not shown up, so I called the restaurant again. She said the driver was very close to our house, but at this point our food had been sitting out for over an hour and apparently criss-crossed Ashburn multiple times so we cancelled our order. A week later we thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt, recognizing we were partially to blame. We submitted our order again. A few minutes after we submitted the order, we received a notice that it would be 65 minutes until our food was delivered. Our kids were hungry, and that sounded like a long time, so we called the restaurant to cancel and we were going to order from another Chinese restaurant, which we have ordered from a few times and they have always delivered in about 30 minutes. The lady told us that the order would be delivered in just 40 minutes, so we agreed to wait. 75 minutes later the driver showed up. Our food was cold, not just kind of warm, it was cold. I suspect it had been sitting out for close to an hour. Honestly, the food we had was ok, but it wasn't any better than Chin Chin, and Chin Chin consistently delivers on time. We won't be going back to Yens. If you want to dine in, maybe it would be ok, but do not order delivery from this place! read more

If you want Chinese food in Loudoun County this is the place to go. Their normal menu is mostly "Americanized" Chinese food but of considerably higher quality than the typical places (i.e. - real white meat chicken sans breading, fresh vegetables, etc). If you're up for something different the authentic dishes off the Taiwanese menu are the real highlight. As other reviewers have mentioned, seating is limited and most of their business is take out or delivery. read more

Best dumplings in the world! lol Also try the orange chicken! they're to die for! Ask for it crispy and you'll love it that much more! If you have toddlers, you might want to find somewhere else to dine or at least make sure you are clear about the level of spices they have in the dish as that's not always clearly noted on the menu. Our son wasn't happy after trying some of the Orange chicken; it wasn't spicy to me at all, but he seemed to think so. All in all, great flavor! Great staff! read more

I've been eating here for years now and have almost always been very happy with the food and service. The juices and teas are really nice and the food is pretty much the best Taiwanese you will find in the area. The Taiwan fried chicken is a huge family favorite here, as is their mah po tofu. Dining in is always a bit better than the takeout but that being said, the takeout is very tasty as well. read more

Possibly some of the best Asian food locally! Their ingredients are fresh and top shelf. I order shrimp to see what level their quality is and I've never been dissatisfied. They don't deliver to our community but it is worth driving for a take-out order. Very tasty and great hearty portions. Some dishes are a bit oily so that may be my only complaint. Worth a visit, totally yummy! read more

Everything is good here. Taiwanese Fried Chicken is my favorite. People here are super nice! Highly recommend this resto

Spectacular authentic Taiwanese restaurant. Service was great, food was outstanding. The bread that came along with the pork was perfect. The only thing I hope they change is to have a new large menu that has pictures. The text of the menu doesn't give justice to the food. read more

Great food. All white meat General Tsos. Food is done very quickly however they've been without a delivery driver for months. I definitely enjoy their food on most days. Usually get the General Tsos every time and crab rangoon. I will try more soon. read more

I always come here when I want some quality food. The staff is friendly, huge menu, I haven't tried something I didn't like. Wish more people knew about this place because I can always count on Yens when I'm not in the mood for anything else. read more

My family and I have been supporters of Yens Cafe since it opened. We always felt it was worth the extra money for their quality food, so the high prices didn't keep us away. The last year or so the food quality has gone down...a LOT! Then, during Fall/winter for months they didn't deliver due to not having a driver. On two separate occasions our order was wrong or missing items. The original owner doesn't seem to be there any longer, were not sure if it's family running it or if she sold. Either way, sadly Yens is no more. Tonight I waited on hold for nearly 10 minutes, after which I was hung up on. Once getting through I attempted to place my order, the gentlemen on the phone took (no exaggeration) 10 minutes to get my address and order. After complete chaos he tells me the food will take an hour. I miss Yens Cafe...the original. read more

Picked up dinner tonight. I went with the 3 cup chickens and it was wayyy too salty , rest of the food was okay . Not worth the price and drive for us read more

We ordered low mein and fried rice to go a few times here. Food was good. Service was quick. I was told on the phone it would take half an hour and order was ready in 15 minutes. They had a person to work with you to get food. I never had to step out of the car. read more

We tried yen's again after a long time, since the other yens opened along Waxpool. We went to this yens because the other one was close (they are close on Tuesdays) thinking that it will have the same quality but was a great disappointment. Service and food quality are not great. We brought leftovers home and it went straight to trash. Maybe it was just a bad day but I will just go to the other one. read more

The food at Yens is okay but the sisters got in a fight and broke up Yens kitchen and sushi bar is so much more high quality and so many better Chinese restraunts read more

We drove 40 mins from Falls Church to eat at this Taiwanese restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic! It was worth the drive. The food tasted just like I was in Taiwan. read more

By such great reviews on here, I had to stop by for some lunch and I am glad I did! I figured this place was going to be a medium sized cafe with plenty of seating and perhap bar seating. Inside, it is very small. I think I only counted 4-6 tables (4 persons). I was alone so I decided to sit by the bar. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch special (only $8.95!!!!). It was a lot of food for that price. The rice was good and the spring roll was very tasty. The actual beef plate was subpar. To me, it was just a little too "sugary", but good nonetheless. I ordered the egg drop soup and that was just a little too salty, too much soy sauce. That was the only dish I did not finish. There was also some salad and wow, for not being a salad guy at all it was very delicious, especially the dressing. The staff was very courteous and always checking how my meal was. When I finished and my plates were taken away I received a little puff pastry. And just wow. The dough was very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I was puzzled on what the filling was. It really didn't have a sweet or bitter taste, I was stumped on figuring out what is was. I asked the staff was the filling was and it was a red-bean paste. Wow! Never would of guessed that. I am making Yen's Cafe my weekly Thursday lunch spot. read more

Went to Yen's for lunch based on Yelp reviews. Ordered - seaweed salad - eggplants with Su-Yang sauce (I probably spelt the sauce wrong) - breaded, salted pork chops Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Although the dining room is tiny, it was very pleasantly decorated. Bathroom and dining area very clean. My daughter enjoyed the salad but I'm not a big fan. The entrees arrived quite promptly and piping hot. Very impressed with the uniquely designed plates and dishes that Yen's use. Five stars for presentation! Both the egglants and pork chops were tasty but I've had better at other restaurants. That said, I would come again and recommend Yen's to others. read more

We love Yen's cafe. We love the fresh food, intimate atmosphere, friendly service, juice menu and overall experience. It's like eating in a small parlor with a really knowledgeable wait staff. The food's really delicious - best in the area I think. Just went here again with my daughter for the juice - that alone is worth the trip. read more

First time coming in! We called ahead for dining in and the food was ready and Hot! The service was awesome, our glasses of water never got empty! The staff were super friendly. A very nice, cute and cozy restaurant! read more

Amazing !!! Fresh !!! Delicious !!! 6 booths so small in size but Big in flavor !!! Nice and quiet and friendly atmosphere . Will be back for sure read more

Average food. However, I would be willing to try it again and get something else, maybe something else I read about on these reviews. I know not every dish is a specialty, so I'd be willing to try a specialty and update my review in the future. I got a lunch combo of General Tsos and it was just ok, the chicken was a little tough and the rice tasted microwaved, not fresh. The eggroll, to me, is the ham and cheese of a deli, you can tell a lot by the eggroll. Unfortunately, even though I specified egg roll and she repeated egg roll back to me, I got a shrimp spring roll. Totally disappointed. I also ordered Won Ton soup but got Egg Drop, which was very good. Mistakes happen. Overall, nice place and nice person at the front. I would give it another shot but I'm on the hunt for a NYC style Chinese lunch spot and this ain't it. read more

Asked for hot sauce on the side and the waiter says they are out. What kind of Chinese restaurant runs out of hot sauce? Also terrible communication and customer service by this same guy, go to another place for better experience and lower prices too read more

Best all around food ever! Super fresh. Best service in the County. Owners are so nice and make you feel part of their family.

I came with my family after reading some good reviews on this site. I was a little unsure due to its awkward location and a cliche decor, but as soon as we got in the staff was inviting, friendly and attentive to our needs. The food lived up to the reputation on this site. The portions were very good and the flavors were excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food. Also the rice donuts where an excellent touch after the meal. I will be back. read more

Went here earlier today. My girlfriend and I both got the sweet and sour chicken with rice. Quick service and friendly people. Would definitely come again! read more

As usually Yens Cafe is amazing. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints!!!!

The food here is absolutely amazing. Very flavorful, the best Taiwanese food in NOVA. And their juices are very fresh and tasty.

My go-to Chinese spot in Ashburn! Fantastic food & friendly staff. I always recommend Yens Cafe to anyone who is looking for a great meal.

I'm not sure what all the rave reviews are about because my date and I went here this week and their was a ton of corn in the egg drop soup (was more like corn drop, heh), and my seasame chicken was chewy/overcooked. We both agreed it wasn't that great, and the place was very small inside (like 6 booths upfront?) with leftover x-mas decor hanging around. On the plus side the wait staff was very attentive and super friendly. We did get a complimentary desert at the end of dinner which was like a hot round donut with dry looking custard in it. read more

Great food. They seem to do good business so they should consider a larger store. Its also difficult to find if you aren't looking for it.

SO DELICIOUS!! It's a tiny place full of charm, and the service is warm and attentive and it feels like you're eating amazing food at a friend's house. It's our go-to Chinese food in all of Virginia. read more

My family and I went here for dinner on Christmas. The manager (man) was very rude to my daughter when she asked if they had "Thai ice tea" he said, "Yes we have it but I don't have time to make it so obviously you can't have it" We we're taken back, to say the least! We should have gotten up and walked out but we stayed and waited for our cold sub par food. Needless to say we will never be going back to Yens Cafe again !! read more

YELPED! The place is good, but nothing better than your local Asian place. Not worth driving out of your way for.

I'm used to eating decent Chinese in DC but have yet to find a good place in Ashburn/Leesburg. The service is good but the food is just okay, sauces don't taste like anything I am accustomed to. I won't be going back to this place. The quest continues for really good Chinese in Ashburn/Leesburg. read more

I am sorry to say that last night was my last time ordering from Yen's Cafe. The food is excellent, but I am not sure what has happened on the service end. From the time I placed my order at 6:43PM online, I did not receive my food until 8:35PM. I sat at the bar from 7:20-8:30PM. This is completely unacceptable. The phone was ringing off the hook the whole time. I am not sure if these were new orders or irate delivery customers, several of whom showed up at the restaurant looking for their food. Yen's Cafe has excellent food. But until they step up the service side, I will not be going back. I am taking my business to the other Yen's (Yen's Kitchen & Sushi Bar) on Waxpool Rd. I can't get an answer if this is the same family or not, but I have not ever had any issues with food pick-up from them. read more

This place was the BOMB at one time. Now, it's just super salty and oily. It's a very small spot to dine with about 5 or 6 tables and you can end up waiting at the TINY bar area. Wish they would get their act back together. Sad. read more

Best takeout around the area, with really fast delivery. We received our order in 20 min! Their lomein is more authentic than most places, too (they use a diff. kind of noodle) and portions are really big. They also have a huge array of fresh juices, really refreshing. I'm a big fan! read more
