Fried Calamari
Khoo K.

Very pleasantly surprised with the food. Came here before an event at Benoraya hall. There was a line and glad we planned ahead with a reservation. The happy hour menu is robust. Our favorites are the ahi tuna nachos, burger sliders with fries and calamari. The Brussels sprouts were ok. We opted for the sauce on the side and it was much better without drenching in sauce. The sliders were very tasty that we re-ordered. My favorite is the lobster noddles not in the HH menu. It was super flavorful and there were chunks of lobsters and shrimps. Yum! The beer selections were great, ambiance was lively with lots of screens playing and interesting beer flowing design in the ceiling. The staffs were very attentive and friendly too. Definitely would return again.

Such a good spot to grab something quick to eat!! came in after some plans fell out and grab some appetizers but the portions ended up being HUGE! our waiter was so nice trying to accommodate our drinks since they were out of quite a bit of stuff but he made it happen and what we ended up was delicious! definitely coming back for game day!! (keep in mind this place was packed and luckily didn't have to wait for seating)

We stopped in for a quick dinner after a long day of travel. The hostess was friendly, the server was quick and on top of his game. He asked about where we are from and that we lived in Texas at one time. The food came out fast and hot with generous portions. The drinks were also good. We recommend this Yard House location!!

Very solid drink options. They had pina coladas for the non alcoholic folks! Happy hour menu and the grill was amazing. Very happy with my burger and truffle fries. Bathroom was super clean and service was very fast for our party of almost 20 people. Great vibes for lunch with coworkers!

We went for dinner at Yard House after getting some drinks from a nearby rooftop bar. There is a Yard House in Long Beach close to where I live, but it's also in a part of town I don't usually go to. And after my visit to this Yard House in Downtown Seattle, I don't think I have much more incentive, if any, to visit the location in Long Beach. This Yard House in Downtown Seattle is located on 4th Ave between Pike and Pine. They have a menu posted by the front door so you can see what they have before entering. After checking in with the hostess at the front desk, we were taken to the table in the very far corner, literally right next to the restrooms. We came on a Wednesday after 7 PM, and it was pretty busy with many a TV scattered about the dining room showing a multitude of sporting events. Josh was our server, and he was more of a tough guy trying to be friendly rather than a friendly guy. I immediately discerned that as he was passing out coasters as if he was dealing cards at a poker table. And in a semi-aggressive manner no less. Each of us in our group decided to order an entree for ourselves as well as an appetizer to share with the group. We had actually eaten some appetizers elsewhere just 3-4 hours prior, so I wasn't too hungry, but they have an "Under 700" section on their menu, which shows all their menu offerings that are under 700 calories. I hadn't had salmon on this most recent trip to Puget Sound, and their Mediterranean Salmon came in at 630 calories, so I went with that. Their other seafood on the "Under 700" is the Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna, which is $1 less than the salmon, but I prefer salmon over tuna. They have three appetizers on the "Under 700" menu, but two of them have seafood. Since I already chose a seafood for my main entree, I went with the non-seafood appetizer: edamame. For that one, Josh asked for the spiciness level, which I initially almost thought was for the salmon since Josh didn't specify if the spiciness level was for the salmon or the edamame. A few more words could have helped clarify, but I guessed right. The appetizers started coming in about 10 minutes after we ordered with the sweet potato fries coming in first. Then the calamari, fries, edamame, chicken nachos, and chicken-less nachos for the vegetarian at our table. We didn't have any small plates for these appetizers, but Josh was one step ahead of us, so kudos to him for thinking ahead here! The salmon came about 20-25 minutes after I ordered, and while it was good, it wasn't *that* good. For one, the top of the salmon tasted kind of burnt, which really took away from the taste profile as a whole. Also, the green sauce that supplemented the salmon didn't add much flavor that, surely, spicy tahini sauce should have done more than that! And that was after I squeezed the entirety of the lemon wedge over the dish for maximum flavor. Other than that, the cauliflower rice mixed with the red quinoa tabbouleh rounded out the $30 fish dish. The vegetarian in our group was willing to share his three cheese pizza since it was bigger than he expected. I was willing to take a slice, and the pizza actually impressed me to say the least. For a cheese pizza, I can safely say that if Kevin McCallister had tried this in Home Alone, he would have liked it better than Little Nero's Pizza. The appetizers themselves weren't too bad, but I felt that some missed the mark. Like the hot and spicy edamame I ordered; it was not consistent in flavoring across the entirety of the bowl. As an example, one piece could be real hot and spicy, but another piece would only be mild at best. Fries could have been crispier, and same with the calamari. But the nachos were pretty good with an abundance of goodness topping the chips. At the end of our visit, we were ready to leave, though we hadn't paid yet. Josh processed our payments at the tablet on our table even though I thought he would have brought out separate checks for each of us. He did bring out receipts for each of us, but having each of us pay one at a time with him proved mildly inefficient. Also, if you sit at a table similar to the one I was at, watch your step! I almost slipped/tripped when I needed to use the restroom, which had a trash bin full of used paper towels! And speaking of restroom, there were a couple of customers that were waiting outside because they thought the restrooms were for single persons only as opposed to a community restroom. Don't make the same mistakes when you visit!

If you want a little TGI Friday's-style nostalgia, Yard House scratches that itch. Big menu, cold beer, older classic music, loud chain-restaurant energy. Get the jambalaya, then finish with the whiskey caramel butter cake or the limited time desserts. Their desserts are legit.

Sat at the bar. Got served right away. Decided on the ahi tuna crunchy salad $23.99 and truffle cheeseburger with sub house salad. Bar staff pleasant and friendly. It was, however, chilly-felt the cold air on us which was not pleasant on a cold rainy day. It was also pretty dark inside. They need more light and warmth!

Fantastic experience! My partner and I went before going to a concert in Seattle and were there for an early dinner. The place was pretty empty, but not dead. There were various sports games on different tvs above the bar, and the whole place was a little dark, but overall, clean and modern. Our server was super nice and fun to talk to, and had great recommendations for beer and food. I don't drink but my partner really liked his beer, and there was no shortage of options to choose from. The fish and chips were crisp and light, not super greasy, and the lobster garlic noodles were maybe the best pasta I've ever had at a restaurant. I was genuinely so happy with the quality and amount of food for the price.

We always have a great time at Yard House, especially with their super fun half yard-sized beers. Their menu has just about everything on it from burgers to poke salad, and it all tastes great. The wings are decent, but our favorite app is the brussel sprouts. It can get a little loud being a sports bar, but other than that I don't think it's possible to have a bad time here

There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but with homecoming going on and the Mariners game playing on the TVs, it was completely understandable. Once we were seated, we were greeted by Nile, who was friendly, funny, and really knew the menu well enough to help answer any questions we had. We shared a few laughs with her throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was cozy and surprisingly romantic, especially considering how many TVs were around. We were seated in a great spot, quiet enough to talk comfortably but close enough for me to catch glimpses of the game. We started with the firecracker shrimp, which came with a rice cake on the bottom, something I'd never tried before but really enjoyed. My wife went with the Shiitake garlic noodles, and I ordered the Nashville hot chicken. Both were delicious, though I would've liked mine a little spicier. It would have been nice if they offered different heat levels. Overall, we had a great time. The food was solid, the vibe was perfect, and Nile's great service really stood out. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Stopped by Yardhouse on 4th Ave in Seattle for my birthday, and it was such a great pick. We tried a couple local beers, which were really good. For food, my partner had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with house fries, and I went for the Nashville hot chicken and sweet potato pancakes - they both were absolutely delicious. The pancakes had a hint of cinnamon, the Nashville hot chicken was juicy, and the honey hot sauce with pickles and ranch was great. The best part was when our bar server noticed it was my birthday when she checked for our IDs and surprised me with an Oreo brookie with vanilla icecream at the end of our meal. It came with a candle and happy birthday written on the plate. That definitely was a sweet touch and really made my day. This was my third time at Yardhouse, and it's consistently been a fun spot with great food and drinks. We didn't have a reservation and were able to sit at the bar quickly, which was super convenient. If you're celebrating something or just want a casual spot with friends or family, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Came here on an annual weekend trip for week 3 of the Seahawks game. Love how Seattle has so many great places to eat and drink. Both franchised, local mom and pop shops etc. my group stayed at a hotel nearby, and yelped some spots for lunch, not realizing that as many times as I've stayed downtown; never noticed the Yard House on 4th street. Great location and close to our hotel as well as Pike's place market. Upon entrance we were greeted and seated right away. Huge round signature bar like all the other Yard Houses I've been to. Great vibes and prompt service. We did a couple rounds of beers with our food. Everyone ordered something different and all of us were satisfied with the quality. I ordered their BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries and it didn't disappoint. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here in the future!

A fantastic restaurant downtown with a lively atmosphere and fantastic service! The food is always great and the drinks expertly crafted. The chicken tenders, sliders, and Cobb salad are my go to's here along with Old Fashioned's.

Ask the Community - Yard House

Do they have the game audio on for Seahawks games?

Yes, but the crowd makes it unintelligible

Is this 21+ only?

No. They have a kids menu on their website

Is dog allowed here?

Doubtful, as I've never seen one in here. This is a higher end place that gets VERY crowded after work. You can call and ask... Even if they did allow though, it would be unwise to take them here unless you like risking your dog's well being.

Based on that, she chose 4 esoteric bottles that each had their own characteristics that would be interesting to compare against one another. My flight consisted of the Pappy Van Winkle 23 years, Colonel EH Taylor Distiller's Council, Very Olde St. Nick Superfreak, and Wild Turkey Austin Nichols 16 years. It was super nice trying all of these rare bottles that I wouldn't even be able to find, and they were all interesting and delicious! The food here is also fantastic. We came during happy hour since the food is a lot cheaper. My favorite things were the Dry Aged Steak Frites and the Crispy Pork Belly. The steak was cooked perfectly and extremely tender with a great beefy flavor. I love a good french fry and these were fresh and crispy. The pork belly was tender and fatty but the fat was nicely rendered so it wasn't chewy. I love the Asian inspired flavors and the kimchi slaw provided the perfect acidity and freshness to complement the fatty pork belly.

Happy hour is daily 4-6pm but all day Monday, bar seating area only. Plenty of seating, plenty of parking in an unpaved lot, or accessible by the 5 bus. The menu uses a lot of strong ingredients that sound like it would turn away picky eaters - blue cheese, anchovies, balsamic, pickles, etc, and I frankly don't like blue cheese, but all the ingredients they use, they do it well. Just order and don't think too much about the specific ingredients, or be open-minded! I got the Butcher Burger which is soooo flavorful - I love the caramelized onions and how juicy the patty is. I also got the Fistful of Dollars cocktail which was also $12 - gin, basil, Chareau aloe, lime. This was so smooth to drink and looks elegant. Service is great - the bartender checked up on me a few times and proactively refilled my water, making sure my water is almost always full. If you want to make a visit for the burger, definitely recommend going on the earlier side because it is limited quantity. Even though it is 1 per guest per visit, still go early. I was there and of the 5 parties that got seated, I think almost everyone each got the burger, so definitely a hot item!!!

We ordered the Tuna Tartare, Clams, Pork Ribs, Grilled Eggplant, and Fennel Pickles from the Happy Hour menu, plus the Roasted Olives with extra Sourdough Bread from the main menu. Honestly, every single dish was delicious. The absolute highlights for me were the olives, tuna, pickles, and the sourdough! Here's a quick breakdown of what we had: Sourdough & Herb Butter: Absolute perfection. Crisp on the outside, chewy and moist on the inside. The herb butter was heavenly! Roasted Olives: The ultimate cocktail pairing. Tuna Tartare: The addition of cucumber made it taste so fresh and vibrant. Fennel Pickles: So addicting--I'm still thinking about them! Pork Ribs: Loved the Gochujang (Korean chili paste) sauce, which felt familiar and comforting. The flavor was great, though it had a slight pork aroma that might appeal more to those who enjoy a richer meat flavor. The cocktails were fantastic across the board. Now I completely understand why this place was constantly packed--unbeatable prices, top-tier food quality, and excellent service. Finding great food always sets the mood for a perfect day, and this place definitely made my day!

Alder & Ash -- Beautiful Food, Disappointing Service…read more I visited Alder & Ash on Saturday, October 24, for its $65 three-course Seattle Restaurant Week dinner. I arrived early, sat in the lounge, then moved to the main dining room. The restaurant is beautiful, but despite some excellent food, the service made me feel rushed and overlooked as a solo diner. ATMOSPHERE The lounge has comfortable seating, warm lighting, and an attractive bar. The dining room is equally impressive, with elegant lighting, tasteful décor, and inviting tables. I brought a book, hoping for a leisurely evening. As the lounge filled, conversations grew loud; later, the dining room's background music was turned up considerably. I didn't read a single page. FOOD Herb and Salt Fries ($10): Served hot and crispy, with attractive presentation, but the flavor was ordinary. I tasted the salt, not the herbs. Frankly, I prefer Wendy's fries. At $10, I expected more. Classic Caesar Salad: Fresh, crisp lettuce and a generous amount of Parmigiano Reggiano, with just the right overall flavor. The croutons were crispy but lacked the advertised herb taste. I would have liked freshly ground black pepper to balance the cheese, but unlike neighboring tables, mine had no pepper grinder. Oven Roasted Salmon: Beautifully presented and seasoned, with a nicely browned crust. Unfortunately, the fish beneath it was somewhat mushy. The herb salad, however, was exceptional: refreshing, beautifully textured, and full of flavor. The herbs spoke both loudly and delicately, wonderfully complementing the salmon. The yogurt-dill sauce offered a delicious contrast. Yet too many strong flavors competed for attention. The farro's flavor disappeared under the sauce, while the braised greens contributed texture without much discernible taste. Excellent components, not always a balanced whole. Sorbet: Simple, attractive presentation and a crisp, clean taste with a smooth, refreshing finish. A lovely end to the meal. SERVICE -- THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT My server rarely stopped to give my table her full attention. Most exchanges happened as she passed by on her way to another guest. The lounge attendant was pleasant once she realized I was seated, so this wasn't a universal problem with the staff. However, the dining room service was a very different experience. Her check-in about my Caesar salad came approximately one minute before I finished it--far too late to make asking for the missing pepper worthwhile. More troubling, while I was eating my entrée, she reached across my place setting and started taking my plate as she asked whether I was finished, before I had even put down my utensils. That felt intrusive and rushed. The dessert menu said "Ice Cream and Sorbet," which reasonably suggests both. Yet the server explained that guests must choose ice cream OR sorbet. The Restaurant Week listing elsewhere used "or," making the printed menu confusing. The clarification itself was fine; her manner seemed put off by my question. She wasn't overtly rude, but she didn't feel especially welcoming. She became noticeably more polite at the end, but by then the experience had already been affected. Above all, I felt like a third wheel. I cannot know whether my server disliked having a one-person table, but that's the impression her behavior gave me. Dining alone should not mean receiving less attention. The dinner also felt hurried compared with my previous Saturday outing; I was nearly done with three courses in roughly 75 minutes. Efficient service is good. Feeling pushed through a meal isn't. PRICE AND VALUE The Restaurant Week dinner cost $65, plus $10 fries and a $4 soda: $79 before fees. With a $3.16 surcharge and $8.67 tax, my bill was $90.83. I left a $16 cash tip, bringing my total to $106.83. I don't expect perfection for that price, but I do expect attentive, courteous service and time to enjoy my dinner. MANAGEMENT RESPONSE After paying, I spoke with Kendall, the manager. She was polite, professional, and receptive. She accepted my criticism and thanked me for providing it. I explained I wasn't seeking a free meal, discount, or compensation; I wanted to encourage the restaurant to strive for excellence. Kendall acknowledged the issues and expressed a desire for an opportunity in the future to address and correct them. I appreciated her response, even though it doesn't erase the experience. FINAL THOUGHTS Alder & Ash has real potential. Its setting is lovely, and I genuinely enjoyed the Caesar salad, the salmon's seasoning, the exceptional herb salad, and the sorbet. But the overall dining experience was diminished by inconsistent and hurried service. Good food deserves equally good service. Unfortunately, on this visit, Alder & Ash delivered one without the other.

I think the aesthetic of this place was great, behind us was a table of girlfriends celebrating something, and I just think girls brunch or small bridal celebration of sorts would be so cute here.
