Because of this, we asked for a box to put the leftovers in, and the waitress did not return even after 20 minutes. Majority of us who came to this restaurant was for the first time. The waitress AVERY showed us to a table that wasn't set up properly with the amount of people that was in my group. She said 6. I told her there are 7 of us. With a snap in her voice, she replied back, "I was counting the menus." THAT WAS VERY RUDE OF HER. The food we order took forever, though I can understand that they were busy. What I don't understood is, another rude employee (I did not see his name tag) who is tall, light skin, black curly up to 2 inch of hair, was being RUDE to my mother who asked for a spoon. We frequent yard house and it's a hit or miss each time. The last time we dined here 5/4 we waited 30 mins to get sat which wasn't an issue for us. Once we got to ordering the apps came out in a timely manner as well as drinks. We ordered the onion ring tower which was really good and was paired with two dipping sauces which were both delicious and unique. I ordered the truffle burger and my husband ordered the steak bowl. Both items took 45 mins to come out, by the time my husband got his food the steak was cold along with everything else. We also noticed that another table got their food at the same time as we did but they had only been there for 15 mins which was extremely frustrating. When my burger came out, the patties was super think and burnt on the outside, soggy and almost inedible. At this point we were both really frustrated with the situation so we asked our waitress for the manager who was able to comp my husbands meal and our appetizer. Our server this night was Maddie, she was great 10/10 service, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. Today we got takeout because we didn't have the time to wait to eat in, and the food was still great. Called in our order with no problem, and got everything plus napkins, utensils and hand wipes! We ordered a grilled chicken kale and romaine caesar salad which contained grape tomatoes, golden raisins and pistachios (YUM), regular sliders which came with a lot of fries, truffle fries, Brussels sprouts and potatoes (YUM), and portobello mushroom pasta (YUM). Finally getting around to reviewing this place after eating here MANY times, as I work around the Waikiki area. Yardhouse has always provided pretty good customer service, however there have been times when we dine in for lunch and it wasn't that busy, we have had to wait a while for our food. I especially like the 1/2 off Happy Hour pupus and when they made it available for take out. Everything here is yummy and I totally recommend this place! I've always wanted to try this Darden-company chain restaurant (whose portfolio also includes Olive Garden and Capital Grille) but just couldn't commit due to the numerous other (and better) options in the area. But, a late lunch combined with a way too early cocktail time pushed our dinner plans to 10pm which limited our dining options even more. Enter, Yard House. ATMOSPHERE: This sole Hawaii location is on the first level of the Waikiki Beach Walk mall. The restaurant expands far back so don't be fooled by the small store front. Dim lighting, TV's abound, two big bars and oversized booths made for a comfortable, almost homey feel. MENU: A very intimidating collection of drinks and mishmash of cuisines. BEVERAGE: Ecco Domani - $32.00/bottle Super smooth pinot grigio from Italy. My new favorite! For the record, you can buy this bottle in Wally's for $10, ahem. FOOD: Traditional Caesar - $8.65 Very mainstream but still good as I was craving it. Creamy-tangy dressing, shaved parmesan, small portion for the price. Traditional Wings - $13.75 9 pieces. The jerk sauce was pretty spicy, about a 4 on a 5 heat scale. I didn't care for the sweetness of it though. The wings were moist with crunchiness here and there and coated well with sauce. Fried Calamari - $6.48 happy hour Another very mainstream selection of rings and tentacles. The batter had medium density and wasn't oily. Two dipping sauces accompanied; a spicy white recipe and marinara, both of which went great with the calamari. The Carnivore Pizza - $8.13 happy hour 8 slices. As its name implies, it's loaded with good 'ol salty meat (pepperoni, beef, sausage and bacon). They did a good job on this chewy, thin crust version with a savory marinara base. Easily my favorite dish of the night. Chicken Lettuce Wraps - $6.63 happy hour Avoid this unless you're really into tofu. Don't get me wrong, I eat tofu but was not expecting it in this dish. Instead of a traditional ground pork filling, they mixed in tofu which gave the mix a dry texture that totally killed the dish. On top of that, the ribs of the butter lettuce were brown. Three different sauces accompanied but I didn't use any as I'm more of a purist. Pass! SERVICE: We walked in around 10:30pm and got seated immediately. Our server Brooke greeted us soon after and took great care of us throughout the evening. OVERALL: Nice late night dining option in Waikiki if Cheesecake Factory isn't your thing. Right now because of Covid they have paper menus, and your supposed to wear a mask when entering, going to the bathroom and when leaving the premises. Considering that Waikiki is empty and travel ban is still in effect this place was packed and it made me a little nervous. Nobody remembered to practice social distancing when walking around or put their mask back on to go to the bathroom or exit the restaurant. Very cool bar experience. They offer a fantastic selection of beers and cocktails. I recommend the beer flight so you can try an assortment of some of their housemade beers. Our server was wonderful and gave us very good suggestions for our drinks. They have a whole vegetarian menu. I strongly recommend getting the hot & spicy edamame, it paired so well with my sweet lychee cocktail. We ordered the tomato bisque - it was so creamy and delicious, paired with some rustic bread and butter, the veggie burger - while it tasted good, it was a bit too mushy in texture for me with the avocado inside, but the truffle fries were sooooo good! We finished off with a warm brookie topped with housemade vanilla icecream, which was totally epic. It was a huge size though, so we couldn't finish it after a big meal. They're open all day and late into the night which is a definite plus. They have ample seating both inside and outside so waiting time is not too much. read more

My friend is from out of town and decided to pick this place of all places when they probably have this restaurant on the mainland too. My friend had to use the restroom and someone from the front graciously escorted us there. They even wiped down the sinks twice while we were in there since there was water all over the place. The hostess was great and they even sat us in a nice booth. We just made it in time for happy hour. I believe the server we had name was cash? Or something similar to that. Knowing that it was close to the cut off time - we wanted to put in our order. But I could only put in 3 out of 4 items before he ran away. I put in the last item when he came back but he told us that it was past hh time and he'd try. He seemed like in a sour mood the entire time we were there. Yardhouse is located in Waikiki underneath ruth steakhouse. There is validated parking but you have to valet the car. I checked in for a table and waited about 30 minutes before being seated. It was around dinner time so it was busy especially with alot of tourists. The restaurant is big with nice bar in the middle. They have many beers on tap. The restaurant is loud so if you have a baby, it may be loud for them. There is music and televisions all around. We got seated at a booth which is what i like vs a regular table. The server greeted us and was friendly. Their menu selection is big with a variety of foods. I got the pretzel and i would highly recommend it as a starter. The pretzel was delicious and you can tell its made fresh like ones you would find in Germany. They give you two dipping sauces. One is a beer cheese which i prefer and the other is like a mustard type. I ordered the chicken nachos and this serving was gigantic! Enough for 6 people and delicious made with all fresh ingredients. I also got the meat combo pizza and it was tasty. I got the house lager to drink. Tonight was very good! Mike J our server exceptional. Nothing was a problem for him whether it be changing the side or adding more pineapple to the plantation iced tea. We had the filet mignon, NY steak, halibut, chicken avocado sandwich & firecracker wings. Everything was very but the mashed potatoes on the NY steak had a char taste to and Mike immediately offered a substitution. Everything we ordered was delicious. We knew yard house was a safe choice, and they had hh. WIN WIN. Kyle was our server and we made his life easy since we had already known what we wanted. He got us some tasters of some of the beers he enjoyed and things that were similar to what we enjoyed. I liked how he even gave me the receipt of the tasters so I can remember the names. This was the first yardhouse I came to. While on the mainland, I've tried a few locations based on my fond memories of the Waikiki location. It just wasn't the same. Finally had the chance to revisit my original location. Did not disappoint. The menu has slightly changed. However the food is still as delicious as I remembered. Poke nachos is definitely a must. Hits the spot. Pair it with one of the many beers available on draft. I'm usually not big on chains, for the obvious reasons. Also, this is specifically for this location only. I took my family here for Christmas dinner. My parents only like Chinese food. I told them since I'm paying that I would be choosing the location. I haven't been to the Yard House in years, so I wanted to check them out. Since we frequent Chinese restaurant all the time, I wanted to switch it up a bit. This was a hard review for me to write. I wasn't sure on how many stars to give. The food was outstanding, 5 stars for sure. The service was lacking, 2 stars at best. I had to give them 5 stars, because the food was so good. My parents don't like American food, just Chinese as I stated above. However, when both of them exclaimed that the food was really good, I knew I had to rate them 5 stars. We got there around 5pm. We were given a 15 minute wait time and were seated in a booth before then. The restaurant is dim. The booths are long and spacious. It could easily seat 4 people on each side comfortably. We made it in time for happy hour, so we ordered off the happy hour and dinner menu. First off, I guess everyone comes here for beer and not coffee. If you're looking for coffee, do not come here. My husband and father both ordered coffee and found out the hard way. The server came with the coffee pot and filled both their cups. He didn't bring cream or sugar. We waved our server down and he said that he'd bring it. He brought the cream over and said that they were searching for sugar packets. Fifteen minutes later, the sugar came. The coffee was lukewarm. For the second coffee refill, there was sugar but no cream. They just drank sweetened black coffee. For the third refill, he only had enough for half a cup of coffee. He said that they were brewing more, but none made it to our table. I started to wonder if they were ever going to get this coffee thing right. It can't be that hard to serve coffee. From the happy hour menu we ordered the onion ring tower, traditional wings, poke nachos, fried calamari, California Roll, BBQ chicken pizza, and classic sliders. From the dinner menu we got the full rack of BBQ ribs. All the food that we ordered was delicious. We ordered the jerk wings and it had a different flavoring, but good. My favorites of the night were the ribs, poke nachos, and California Roll. The meat on the ribs were tender and just fell off the bone. The poke from the nachos was fresh. The sauce they drizzled on the nachos paired perfectly with the dish. The California Roll was outstanding. It's not the traditional roll that you're expecting. It's deconstructed. The rice on the bottom was crispy. This is a must try. Somewhere during our meal, our server tells us that he's shifting to another area. We were getting a new server, which was fine. The onion ring tower never came. I told her to take it off our bill. She apologized. Both our servers were nice. However, they need to get it together. The food is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. We've been to Yard House many times, and we keep coming back for more. It's usually always crowded here, but the staff is friendly and accommodating. Not only that, but the food and drinks are always delicious, for pretty decent prices as well. This time we tried: Poké Nachos, Fried Calamari, Onion Ring Tower, Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds, Carnivore Pizza, Braised Short Rib Ravioli, Lobster Bisque Agnolotti, and the Mini Cheesecake Brulee. As always, the food was great, not to mention they give pretty decent portion sizes. There wasn't one thing that we ordered that I wouldn't get again. I've been here so many times, I can't believe I haven't written a review! I am a fan of the Yard house! Despite the long wait times, I've learned to come earlier if I want a table or seat at the bar. Tonight, I stopped in for take out. I quickly got a seat at the bar and began browsing the menu. My bartender gave me great suggestions, as I had no idea what I wanted to eat. While enjoying my Jamerson mule, I decided to order: Lobster, crab and artichoke dip- delicious dip served with chips and pita bread. Grilled Korean bbq beef with brown rice- although it's an appetizer, it really could be a meal. The bbq beef is very tender and flavorful. Traditional wings with the sauces on the side (buffalo, firecracker,jerk and Korean)-my bartender suggested ordering them naked with all of the sauces on the side. I loved this dish and enjoyed trying all of the sauces. My favorite sauce would have to be the Korean sauce. Large portion of wings that was perfect for sharing.
