    Coconut pancakes!
    Max K.

Really loved this restaurant! Came right when it opened for brunch! Brunch had a special for free mimosas with entree purchases so we got a couple and got to choose fun flavors! The short rib loco moco was recommended to me and I loved it! It melted in your mouth and I loved how orange the egg yolks were (you can order eggs cooked how you want, I just like a runny yolk). The coconut pancakes were also amazing. Full of flavor and perfect overlooking marina. Our server was really helpful and had great advice. The restaurant itself had a lot of fun character and still up to date. Makes sense to me why this is a staple of downtown!

Came here for a little date. Immediately was seated by a sweet server. Got our drinks fast and it was still happy hour and that was plenty for us! Everything was tasty and feeling and their mai tai is bomb! They were about to start live music too. I can tell they have a lot of regulars and I just like the vibe here~

The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant we happen to come in on an afternoon with leaf as the bartender. We were here for two hours, and he did not smile once he seemed extremely agitated and upset that he had to work. Christian was very happy and friendly and ready to make our experience fun. Drinks were great and food amazing! We really enjoyed ourselves!!

Pre wedding celebration dinner with friends. The restaurant was very busy and having to climb the stairs wasn't expected As an appetizer I ordered the shrimp. They were cooked perfectly and quite large! The lobster tail was incredible! It was steamed perfectly and was served with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was delicious The crème brulee was a bit mediocre. It was cold, solid and not very creamy. The top was not caramelized. Overall a good experience

Shrimp, avocado and mango stack app

Newly renovated. Best thing I can say. Good views of the Ala Wai harbor. Menu is definitely pricey even for Honolulu. Most entrees 40-70 and they don't include a side. How do you like your $14 fries add on? Or $13 asparagus? There's no reason a restaurant that charges $70 a steak can't throw a few cents worth of veggies and starch on the plate!!!! I had shrimp, avocado and mango stack app for $29. No effort in terms of flavor. All 3 ingredients were fresh but all beg for something. Definitely some salt. Very bland. Staff was inattentive. Never checked on me. Took forever to get their attention even at the bar. They were too busy chatting with each other. Also was an off shift staff member at the bar that was too drunk and very obnoxious. Will not be back in spite of its proximity to where I generally stay.

Happy Hour Kimchi calamari with the sauces on the side

Let me put you on to the happy hour at the Chart House, Honolulu. Been going here since I was a kid! And I'm so grateful that even with a shift in ownership, the classic dishes like the stuffed mushrooms, escargo and black and blue ahi are still heavy hitters on this menu. But pro tip is ordering the happy hour kimchi calamari. For those who are purists with their calamari, ask for the sauces on the side and squeeze the fresh lemon on top. Leave the sauces for dipping if you so choose. Comes on a bed of tempura veg and is just such a mountain of fun we highly recommend.

I came here for dinner with a group of friends. The restaurant looks a bit on the older side but it's right by the water and there was live music playing. It was definitely a busy night as the restaurant was quite full. I ordered the garlic shrimp which didn't come with as much as I would have liked but they were pretty big. I enjoyed that the most out of everything we had. I also tried the special of the night which was a butter fish in a miso sauce. It was nice and tender but the flavor was too sweet for my liking. Our server was very friendly but it was hard to flag people down for simple things like refilling our drinks. It was a nice dinner but with how pricey everything is I definitely think you can get better food elsewhere in Waikiki.

Located right on the harbor, close to affordable paid parking and in an open air building. My party ordered a few drinks like Mai Tais and they were good. We also ordered oysters and they were my favorite, creamy, flavorful, not too oceanic. We also ordered the calamari and it was cooked well, not rubbery. I ordered the braised prime short ribs with beans and a side of mashed potatoes. You get quite a bit of meat, enough for two, in my opinion, same with the potatoes so keep that in mind, especially if you're going to eat pupus. The meat was tender and the sauce was good but a little chunky. I tried my partner's butterfish and it was flaky and mild. Our server was quite attentive. It's a nice place for a date or an gathering with family and friends. You could also catch the sunset!

So this was my first meal during my return to Hawaii. I'm a sucker for a nice view and live music and this spot had both. I was quickly seated near a patio and had my drink order taken. I got the oyster as an appetizer and it was not what I was looking for and/or expecting. Definitely would not order it again. For my main, I got the steak and it was amazing. Right temp, good mash potatoes, and crisp asparagus. All in all it was a great meal and I would definitely be back when I'm in Waikiki.

First time back to the Charthouse in years. They just finished their face lift and the restaurant looks great. Still the same set up but everything is new. We had reservations in the bar during happy hour to listen to the live music. This place is kind of crazy busy during happy hour. The regular menu here is pretty pricey but during happy hour the pups menu lists a wide variety of plates priced at about $13. So, if it is getting close to 6:00 all of the tables start ordering a lot of plates so the kitchen gets swamped. We had a couple of orders we cancelled because they forgot to bring them. The food is good and the music on this particular night was excellent. Seems to be a regular hangout for some of the patrons. Parking without validation is $5/hour. I paid $5 total but some friends ended up paying $25 even with validation. I will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! We visited this establishment on two separate occasions, during our vacation. Our first visit we ordered solely off the happy hour menu and enjoyed each item, they have a great happy hour food special! Our second visit we ordered the 3 course special--a great deal! Our food and service was top notch.

My friend and I wanted to try their happy hour. Since she was visiting from California and we were staying close by we wanted French fries at 8:30pm that wasn't McDonald's LOL. So we got our cocktails Lilikoi margarita and Dragonfruit Mojito

    Chicken lettuce wraps
    Alyson W.

Sarah, our server, was perfect! Just the right amount of attention. We came for happy hour and had cocktails and pupus. The chicken lettuce wraps were more mushroom than chicken, but the coconut shrimp were fantastic. Although we were sitting close to the water, the window blinds were down so there was no view. Even so, they had a nice, laid back vibe.

We finally had a babysitter for the night, so the goal was simple: enjoy an amazing steak dinner, great cocktails, and a rare quiet evening together. Hy's exceeded expectations from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, T, Cameron, and Ransen made the experience feel elevated without ever feeling stuffy or overdone. T was especially attentive right away, making sure drinks were flowing and walking us through the specials, wine pairings, and recommendations with genuine enthusiasm and knowledge. You could tell the staff here truly enjoys what they do, and it made the entire dinner feel personal. Once they started describing the specials, our self-control disappeared quickly. We started with the fresh oysters and the scallop appetizer, both incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Perfect beginning to the meal. Of course, the main event was the steak. We came specifically for a great steak dinner and somehow still ended up overachieving by ordering both the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and the house Delmonico ribeye. Both could probably satisfy two people on their own, but no regrets whatsoever. The Wagyu was rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth decadent, while the Delmonico delivered that perfectly seasoned, hearty steakhouse flavor you crave. Having both side by side honestly made for a pretty unforgettable dinner. Cocktail-wise, the Green River and Ichigo were both fantastic and paired surprisingly well with the richness of the meal. Just when we thought we were done, Ransen convinced us to try the Apple Streusel Flambé for dessert, and I'm very glad he did. Watching it prepared tableside was part of the fun, and it ended up being the perfect warm, sweet finish to the night. Great service can completely change a dining experience, and this team absolutely made the night memorable. Between the attentive staff, phenomenal steaks, strong cocktails, and classic steakhouse atmosphere, Hy's reminded us why date nights are worth savoring. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a true special occasion dinner in Waikiki.

Desert we shared the banana foster (I miss their cherries jubilee). Service was good- always refilling water and making sure we were satisfied with our food after first bites.
