Good food, friendly service, great prices, conveniently located. I've been going here for lunch often, since it's conveniently located downtown and walking distance from work. The menu is quite extensive, but I typically order off the soup or lunch special menu. I haven't tried the sushi side of the house (the restaurant is two separate rooms, one for Chinese food, the other a sushi bar). I don't often see too many people at the sushi bar though. The Chinese food is pretty good though. For around $6 you can get yourself a big bowl of soup or a combination plate off the lunch special menu. The chicken noodle soup is delicious, and just right for a cold day. The lunch specials come with your entree of choice, rice or chow mein, an egg roll, and choice of soup. I've had a few of the entrees, and they've all been good. Portions are good size, and I've never left still hungry. Some of the meals currently come with complimentary dim sum (small filled dumplings). I probably wouldn't order these specifically, but they're a nice addition to round out the meal. Service is fantastic, and everyone in the business seems genuinely happy to see you. I'm looking forward to trying out more of the items on the menu! read more

Traveling through Carson City looking for something to eat on Yelp and I came across Yangs Kitchen.. AMAZING! We jus got food to go but everything we received was very delicious! We got the pork fried rice, walnut prawns, beef broccoli, and a dim sum order of hum bao.. Went downtown for Nevada day and noticed the new name. Decided to give it a try mostly because of the advertised Dim Sum. They have very little Dim Sum and what they do have isn't' worth the time. The chinese area was full so we sat in the Sushi bar area. We had a combination of chinese and sushi. The fish was the least fresh fish I've ever been served in a Sushi place. Awesome food and super fast! We ordered to go and it was ready as we got there. We live 10 minutes away. They were very courteous and gave us such large portions. We order the vegetable egg foo young, Mongolian beef and chicken pan fried noodles. We'd never had the pan fried noodles anywhere else, so we didn't know what to expect. Authentic Chinese Cuisine The portions are absolutely astonishing! Menu selection outstanding. Prices are below what a person would pay considering the delicious food, quick service, ability to dine-in, carry-out or call-in for home delivery. Yang's Kitchen is one of very few Chinese delivery places in Carson City, so I was very excited to try it. However, I was extremely disappointed. Items on our order were incorrect, and the food was mediocre. The Beef Broccoli was soggy and the sauce was burnt tasting. My wife's sweet and sour chicken was fatty and bland. Once we called to have the correct items delivered, we were promised 10 minutes, but nobody arrived for almost an hour. The only good thing I will say about Yang's Kitchen is that the prices are reasonable. But alas, you get what you pay for. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the future. Let me start by saying this is my new "go to" favorite Chinese food restaurant in Carson. I'm so incredibly happy I found this place and the only reason I did happen to go in is because of reading the reviews on Yelp. My boyfriend and I had the lunch special and some pot stickers as an appetizer and let me tell you, those were the BEST pot stickers I've ever had. Yee, our waitress, was funny and so personable, she had us laughing from the moment we walked in. Our food came fast and was so hot, fresh and delicious, we ate and ate and still had left overs to take home. Our bill was just over $20 and we had enough left over for dinner that night. Yangs is super very casual great food. I take BunnyRanch girls to Chinese every Sunday night. I like the Dim Sum there & it's the only dim sum I know of in Carson. When they opened the menu said CHEF FROM RENO lol not Hong Kong or Bejing but RENO lol. They are nice people that crank out good food cheap. At there today w/ three others. First, the hot tea they put on table was stone cold. Then we ordered some dim sum and Chinese lunch specials. A few minutes later, the server returned and informed us they were out of bbq pork buns. We adjusted our order and then the soup arrived. It was luke warm at best, flavor ok. The dim sum was terrible. No flavor, very mushy. The Chinese lunches were average but the fried rice was bland and not very warm. Steamed rice the same. So disappointed. But the worst, was the Yang's revenge experience about an hour later by 2 members of our party. The other two had heavy indigestion. This was my first time ordering from here. I ordered all my goto chinese items because I ordered when I was hungry. Egg foo yung, Mooshu pork, and Hot and sour soup. I also ordered Crab Rangoon. Delivery was amazing, 18 mins from order to my door. The portions were huge, a great value for the money. The Crab Rangoon and the Egg foo yung were very good, the hot and sour soup was good. So why the bad rating? I was getting full so I put just a couple of spoons of the mooshu pork on my plate and put on some plum sauce. This is gross, but I picked up a piece of pork and put it in my mouth and immediately spit back out. It had the taste and texture of a piece of raw pork fat. It was not, but I could not tell what it was. The next piece was also weird. After looking at all the "pork" in my dish, I really could not tell what it was. My best guess was pieces of intestine, stomach, skin??? This was totally disgusting. This was going to be at least a four star rating til I tried the mooshu pork. I won't eat here again read more

My second visit back to Yang's Kitchen, and it was a good one. This time I started with the combination dim sum platter. First, let me say, dim sum in Carson City? What a boon! The offerings were very good, especially the glutinous rice wrapped in a lotus leaf (I started to eat the leaf but was told that that's not usually done after I asked about it. It wasn't that bad, actually, but, yeah, I'll be discarding that next time.). This was so savory and delicious that I'll plan to order a platter of just these next time. The barbecue buns were quite good, and the sesame balls are spot on. There were also some dim sum shrimp that were above average but not stellar. Overall, a good plate. I then ordered vegetable chow mein and szechuan vegetables. Again, they really know how to stir fry here as the noodles weren't greasy at all. It's so rare to find light stir fried rice or chow mein, but Yang's Kitchen has them both. Both dishes had a nice variety of vegetables that were cooked just right. The restaurant is pleasant, clean, and has some very nice decorations that give it a nice character, but the food speaks for itself. I'm glad Yang came to town. read more

Yang's is a very small family owned Chinese Restaurant. The owner is the chef. His wife and daughter wait on tables. I have eaten at Yang's more than thirty times in the last few months. I think that Yang's is terrific. The owner shakes my hand and his wife and daughter bow their heads as I and all customers enter. They are proud and humbled by their customers. That said, not every item will appeal to all people. I think the main thing is that Mr. Wang has more than twenty years of professional cooking experience. He cooks only the best beef, chicken and fish dishes. If you like Chinese food and Chinese people you'll love Yang's Kitchen. They will even make dishes that are not on the menu as I have seen many times. Many of their loyal customers from Reno frequent the cafe. I suggest their Curried Chicken, Vegetable Chicken and Szchewan Chicken. The Mongolian and Pepper Beef is also very good. Mr. Yang was the head chef at "The Duck House" in Reno for 13 years, so duck is a specialty. As a former restaurant owner for twenty years I can guess that the profit margins on this freshly prepared food is very thin. Lunches start at $5.95 including soup and eggroll, dinners at $7.95. I suggest you try Yang's and if you have any issues speak with the owners. I feel certain that they'll try to correct any errors. I haven't found many. I feel a sense of pride that people like the Yang's, who give everything they have, can start and hopefully succeed in a very tough business market. read more
