Saw this as I'm reaching for dinner and thought it was a high class restaurant, but turned out…read moresomething like fast food restaurant. The cashier/server was incredibly nice explaining on the menu works. We got the 3meat combo with 2sides and the loaded cheese fries for a family of three. (If I were to eat more like my young aged years the meal would not be enough for us). Luckily I eat small portions so it was just enough. The restaurant is located in an outside mall and inside has a normal sitting area with a few tables. We were planning to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately the fan was turned on high and we were getting so cold that we decided to bring it back to our hotel to enjoy the food. Now for the taste of the food. We got the 3 meat combo with 2 sides. They were out of chicken and jalapeños chicken sausage so we got the ribs, polish sausage and the brisket with fries and green beans as the sides. On top of that we also got the loaded fries with cheese. (We were a bit confused coz on the menu the loaded fries come with meat but when we open the box there wasn't any). The regular fries looked burnt (I didn't try that). The green beans tastes like chilly (from the can). The polish sausage is okay, the brisket is too dry for us, but the ribs, OMG, it was delicious. It's not dry at all (like any other places that we had before) and with the bbq sauce it made it definitely worth going back again. The $0.85 strawberry ice cream for dessert is good too. Sorry no pics as this review was completely after we finish the meal.

Wish we lived closer as I would be back often for this BBQ. Service was fast and helpful. It's not fast food but we received our order in a timely and expected fashion. However, service has been a challenge during each visit. On our most recent visit, it took about 20 minutes to be seated with a party of four, including a child, even though there appeared to be open tables. After sitting down, it took several minutes before we were greeted. Our server brought waters and later took drink orders, but there wasn't much communication about timing or whether they were short staffed. Once we placed our order, we waited close to an hour for our food. We completely understand that restaurants can get busy and staffing can be tight -- we just would have appreciated a quick update along the way. A little communication goes a long way and helps set expectations. When our food arrived, part of the order was incorrect (we had requested a salad and soup substitution but only received fries). The server corrected it, and the food itself was good. It did come out at different times, and we noticed another table seated after us received their food much sooner, which was a bit confusing. We truly want to support Roy's and hope this feedback is helpful. With stronger communication and smoother service flow, it could be a great experience.

A MUST TRY! The…read morefood looked too good so we dug right in before snapping photos.. oops! Nice & welcoming staff, very helpful with menu guidance - clean place - lots of seating - organized condiments We ordered 1/2 a chicken, Pork Po Boy, and the Sampler Plate (pulled beef, pulled pork, 1/4 chicken & 1 rib) with the included side of chili and subbed the rice for sweet potato fries. Everything was a 10/10. Chili was delicious and hearty, sp fries were cooked perfectly, I loved that I could add the bbq sauce to the meats, the sauce was really delicious as well! The one thing I wish was that my 1 rib had a little bit more meat, but taking the sampler plate into consideration as a whole, there was a lot more meat to enjoy despite the rib. We came in on a Wednesday from San Francisco. It happened to be a day where their 1/2 a chicken was $5 with the purchase of a side. But since we ordered other items we were able to do so without purchasing a side. Basically, you have to make a food purchase to get the $5 chicken deal (which I think may be on Wednesdays regularly) The chicken was really good! Not dry (yes, even the light meat) the skin was golden and delicious) I think they mentioned that it's smoked. I browsed their website beforehand and saw that they have multiple locations in Hawaii so that was pretty cool!! Will be back again! I'm glad we took a chance and tried something different from our usual place in South lake.

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. The restaurant is located on a street where there was very limited parking in front and all the rear parking is super dark so bring your night vision goggles. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
