This was a great little Chinese restaurant! I came here with family while visiting. We were all craving Chinese. Now I'm in the Bay Area where Chinese restaurants are very plentiful and pretty delicious. This place measured up pretty decently! We ordered family style: Egg rolls: (2 orders, 2 in an order) 4/5 pretty standard egg rolls. Chicken Fried Rice: 4/5 rice was fine but I didn't like the chicken as much. Just my personal preference. Garlic Chicken: 5/5 This was my favorite dish! The chicken was breast meat, the garlic sauce was so good, and it included carrots, white onions and zucchini. We ordered it with extra garlic so there were slices of garlic as well. Delicious! Cashew Chicken: 4/5 pretty good, but I didn't detect many cashews. But the dish itself fine, with nice medley of chicken and celery, carrots, onions, etc. I do like a nice cashew crunch so maybe I'll ask for extra cashews next time! Mongolian Beef: 4/5 this is always a go-to dish and I normally love a lot of onions if the ratio matches the beef. This definitely had more onions than beef, however it was not a dealbreaker, but something to take note of. We had a fair amount of onions left on the plate and it could have made 1 more serving. However it was delicious so maybe next time I'll ask for extra beef? Lol. The decor is really cute too, nice chandeliers, paintings and jade statues. Service was great too, no complaints! After trying a new place near work (and instantly regretting it thanks to a horrible bowl of egg flower soup), I tossed it and went straight back to my old faithful--Panda Kitchen. These folks never disappoint. The egg flower soup here is consistently perfect--flavorful, comforting, and exactly how it should taste. I get it at least once a month, and honestly, I'd eat here every week if I could. I'll never go anywhere else out of convenience again. Panda Kitchen is so worth the extra drive. I was in the neighborhood today and decided to stop in for Chinese. I was craving general's chicken and chowmein. I went all out and had fried rice as well. I ate my egg drop soup first hoping to fill up on that and not over eat on my carbs. (Sorry coach, I hope you're not reading this; I'll work it off tomorrow). Service was great and quick. We went here at lunch on a Thursday. Their lunch special consists of soup of your choice (egg drop or hot and sour), entree with fried rice or steamed rice and an egg roll. You can add chow mein also for an additional charge. Without the chow mein it was still a huge lunch portion. For $11 + tax I got a huge plate with crispy walnut shrimp. Their service was fast and the food was hot and fresh. Can't beat the price or service so we will definitely be back. Only reason for four stars was because the lady who took our order wanted us order like we were regular customers and since we had never been here it was very confusing and she didn't help explain anything. As for the food the fried rice had the perfect amount of flavor. The shrimp was crispy and fresh. The egg roll was amazing. Ordered food last night. ($60). While picking up asked for sweet sour sauce, was given a tiny container. I said would like more please was given an additional tiny container. UGH. Took food home, instead of getting broccoli beef they gave me broccoli chicken... Had no idea there was such a thing so have Never ordered it in my life. The orange chicken was spicy tasting. Trying another Chinese restaurant in Carson City. Yet another restaurant that doesn't have my comfort food beef stew/tendons. I went with my standby of beef chow fun. And yes, they had pretty good authentic Chinese yellow mustard. The chow fun though hot(temperature), didn't seem to have enough "wok hei". It just didn't seem to have a hot enough wok to properly stir fry the noodles It also tasted a little sweet but that could have been the type of soy sauce they used. This is another solid go to spot for decent Chinese food here in Carson City. I'm also glad they open a little later, to a whopping 9:30p. I did not have high hopes for this place, given the location and how dead it was but man was I wrong. We were seated right away, drink orders were taken promptly and and all orders were taken thereafter. We ordered 4 combination plates that came with egg drop and hot and sour soup, an egg roll, a piece of fried butterfly shrimp chow mein, fried rice and we ordered Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken and vegetables and shrimp. All 4 meals were outstanding! Their hot green jasmine tea was really good too. The resturant itself is really cute. Right now it has Chinese decorations as well as Christmas and it just feels so warm and welcoming. All of the servers and busers were very happy to wait on us, ask if we would like plates and bowls removed and were quick to ask about refills. At the end the brought our family almond cookies, fortune cookies and cute little panda keychains. We do not have many sit down Chinese food restaurants in Reno so I would glad y take a trip to come back and eat here again. read more

OK. Hopefully this is not going to be taken as a bash session, and more like a communication to help you with your business. And really, that's all any business is. It's communication. I am a very high-level sales manager in the medical industry. Communication is everything. So why a business would choose to have a waiter that cannot communicate to the people he's taking the order from is mind-boggling. What I wanted was kung pao chicken, minus the mushrooms, add celery. The unbelievable fiasco to try and communicate that to my waiter was laughable. Somehow he did get the no mushroom part out of the conversation that went on way too long, but the celery never showed in the dish. Food: The Kung pao chicken was not the worst I've ever had, but it certainly wasn't the best. There was way too much chicken to vegetable ratio. Hardly any peanuts by my standard. Meh. The beef with mixed vegetable was completely inedible, as far as the beef goes. On both of these plates we picked out all the vegetables and ate them and left two piles of nasty, slimy, over marinated meat to the point where the enzymes broke down too far. Yuck. One thing that could've saved the day was the hot and sour soup. But there is hardly anything in it. And what was in it I really don't trust at this point. If it was the same slimy meat that I had, then I will be lucky if I get through tonight without Gastro distress. Even if I lived around the corner, I would never try this place again. Ours was a party of five. They had a buy three get one free promotion. Generated lots of food including two take home orders. All of the food was very tasty. However, the service was confused. It was 4th of July and we were craving pizza. Unfortunately, it was closed. This place was hidden in a strip mall by the pizza place. It was one of the only places open late on the 4th of July. We decided to give it a try. What a hidden gem we found! The service was spot on! The restaurant and bathroom were clean. The prices were unbelievably reasonable. We ordered orange chicken, chicken chow mein, Green Curry and Mu Shu Chicken. We got our food within 15 minutes. The portion size was huge considering their low prices. All the food were fantastic! We ended up having so much left overs. They even boxed it at the table for us. We got the check and was shocked that 6 of us ate for that price and had enough left overs for another meal. I ordered delivery, and it was delivered fast. We ordered the 2 Lily sushi rolls, shrimp fried rice, and crab Rangoon. The shrimp in the sushi wasn't whole but chopped-up. I was disappointed. Panda Kitchen has been around for decades and has a new owner now. The original owner Steve has retired. Sushi is available if you like, but I love the Chinese food here best. The interior is kinda old school chinese. They're open for indoor dining for now with distanced tables and masked staff. They have the usual lunch specials here such as generals chicken, broccoli beef and kung pow chicken all including fried rice, soup and egg roll. But what really is good here are some of the ala carte dishes, like the egg foo young, fried chicken wings, and all the fried noodles and even the Chinese ribs! They even have chicken lettuce wraps, just like PF Chang's, but BETTER! I'll tell you what, I've had egg foo young at other Chinese places, but this version here is like no other! Instead of just some egg patty with gravy on top, Panda kitchen serves it as one huge plate with the egg patty on the bottom and topped with all kinds of meats and veggies with a delicious sauce, just look at the pics! No skimping on the meat here! I was very surprised with the food here as Panda Kitchen was not my usual Chinese eatery of choice, but my fave is only take out now, so here I am having a nice safe dine in experience. I ordered from Panda Kitchen 2 weeks ago. When I arrived the food was packed in a big paper grocery bag and the aroma coming from the bag was wonderful. The gal upfront was darling. I ordered Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Pork Egg Foo Young and Combo Fried Rice and Chow Mein. Enough for 2 meals for the 3 of us. When I arrived home and unpacked the food, it was still hot! The food was enjoyable with the exception of an eggshell in the Egg Foo Young. I would have been more generous with this rating but eggshells make me gag. read more

I went here for dinner and ordered the bowl with Chow Mein and Orange Chicken. It was ok but didn't seem like the meat was the best quality I have ever eaten. I did see someone in the kitchen pull out a pouch of breaded chicken and dump it into the deep fryer. So not exactly fresh prepared chicken I guess. The one real negative I have with this place is their charge for water. Most restaurants will give you a cup to get free tap water. Not here. They force you to purchase a bottle of water for $3. Even fine dining restaurants provide free drinking water! The Ambiance is pretty similar to any fast food restaurant. read more

The service at Panda Kitchen was very good, but that doesn't make up for the poor quality of the food. The sweet and sour chicken was very dry chicken meat deep fried with an abundance of batter and a sauce that was neither sweet nor sour. The walnut shrimp has a similar goopy sauce and 4 walnut halves. The wontons in the soup were filled with some disgusting gummy ? meat? The soup broth was good. I'm sure it was a powdered mix. The chow mein noodles were absent any greens except a few bits of onion. In fact all of the dishes lacked vegetables. The meal was an extravaganza of dull, gummy, flavorless disappointment. We got this order as take out, and now I'm going to take it out to the trash. What a waste of money. read more
