Just as important as the yummy food, the Team is super nice and make it a real pleasure to enjoy one's meal here, as well. They are attentive, kind, appreciative and treat their guests like Family. And finally, I would be remiss if I did not say how much I love the ambiance. The baseball theme and passion for the game is evident and heartfelt. If O Sushi was a baseball team they would definitely be in the Big Leagues and they would definitely have a World Series appearance on a regular basis. Keep up the Amazing work O Sushi. We greatly appreciate you!

It was delicious and came with miso to start and a side of rice. Dad and I got 2 bites of yellowtail sushi, rainbow roll, crunch roll and the kamikaze roll. Soooo good! Perfect fresh fish. The yellowtail was heavenly. Buttery soft and delicate. We loved every bite. Another review mentioned the sports/Japanese decor combo, and we actually enjoyed it while watching game 6 of the World Series. We seem to have a problem with forgetting to take pictures of our dishes, but I promise you will get delicious food here!

Leaving Tucson on the way back to Phoenix and wanted to get a quick bite. We looked for sushi and…read morefound Samuri Sombrero, a start up sushi spot in a food court in central Tucson. This was not what we expected but the staff was friendly and 1/2 patrons at the food hall were eating sushi. The stalls have big energy today and lots of patrons are searching for a seat. Why not give them a chance? The menu is fairly varied for a small pop-up with traditional and deep fried sushi rolls. The female wait staff is handing out egg drop soup samples to everyone, ever those eating pizza and gyros. Looking around, these rolls are huge. We chose the Sonoran roll with shrimp tempora, spicy tuna, spicy crab topped with seared salmon and yuzu sauce. This roll was flavorful and spicy. Another roll was the Samurai with shrimp tempora, cream cheese, avacado wrapped in soy paper deep fried and covered with spicy crab / shrimp mix baked in a spicy aioli and eel sauce. This was our favorite roll with a pop in the tempora shrimp and an uncious taste coupled with a bite. Our third and final roll was the heart attack. Another spicy roll with shrimp tempora, avacado, cream cheese topped with jalepeno, spicy crab and chef sauce. Again, another good roll and a ton of food. This food mall is in an unassuming neighborhood with a smiling server who is hustling like crazy. The sushi was good, unique and tasty. It was a huge amount of food. Give this hard working staff and chance, she is enthusiastic and working hard. To the staff at Samurai Sombrero who are working hard and obviously, not a trained sushi chef. To the public, take a chance, give Samurai Sombrero a try and judge for yourself.

I noticed when ordering that the prices are very good - they remind me of what I'd see on a menu pre-Covid. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, and tobiko nigiri - nothing tasted super fresh and some of the pieces of tuna were fishier than I'd like. The tempura and shrimp flavor weren't great and tasted a bit like old oil. The rolls weren't bad, but weren't anything special either - just mediocre. I do enjoy that the spicy tuna roll included cucumber, as a lot of spots only use fish and I enjoy the added freshness and crunch cucumber adds. I do enjoy the atmosphere inside, and the expansion they have done looks very nice. Just sad that a long-standing Tucson sushi spot seems to have gone down in quality. I wouldn't mind at all of they increased their already low prices and compensated by using fresher and higher quality fish.

So we get to the straight facts as far as my experience. Service 1/5 - service started off well but as time went on , our waiter never checked for refills on water or tea .our waiter never expressed that they were down a sushi chef and that's why our meal was late . Literally 49 minutes late for one spicy tuna roll !!! Ambience-for being a quiet reservation at 4:30 PM. They were already overwhelmed with orders, which makes me think they prioritize online DoorDash orders over actual diners that come into the restaurant.. Food- my husband and daughter enjoyed the Ramen and crispy rice. Unfortunately I had to wait over 50 minutes to be served my spicy tuna roll which at that point was too long and I asked to cancel it . my family was done eating that I couldn't enjoy a roll if I wanted . The whole point was to eat with my family not me watch them eat and an a hour later have them watch me eat a roll . They asked if I want to order another item off the menu which I did, but at that point the whole experience of eating with my family and enjoying the moment was tarnished. I don't want to come back, my experience was not a great one and also the table next to me experienced the same . Time of dining : 10/4 @4/30 pm

Service was friendly, informative, and attentive. We started with the $10 tempura app that came with 2 shrimp and fried salmon. But I was blown away by the fact that they still provide complimentary miso soup and edamame. So Mayne places have tossed that treat out. We tried several rolls, but for the cost conscious, they have several bundles and meal deals. As sushi goes, this place is pretty reasonable. As for the taste. Everything was clearly fresh and made fresh. Fish temp and texture was perfect. The rice correct. They have a mix of heavy rolls and refreshing rolls. All reasonable, given that it's sushi, but I'll be honest, this still-growing-boy needed a bit more after that! The sushi itself was "ok" but the hand roll was terrific. Staff was attentive to all entrees and drinks (refilling my friend's diet coke 3 times!) and had zero problem with doing 4 separate checks too. Venue is simple and leans towards a subdued Asian-typical theme. Parking is easy and free in the shared strip-mall lot.

I would guess our reasonably large selection (see photo) of nigiri and rolls arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordering. My wife's order of veggie tempura was even faster. I thought the quality was pretty dang good. The eel was not the best I have had (that award goes to Sushi in the Valley), but the rest of it was excellent. the salmon skin rolls were exceptional - not often the salmon skin comes out so nice and crunchy. Service was wonderful, and they keep the place clean. It is a little cluttered in there with cases of Kirin stacked up, but I'd rather have a little clutter than run out of beer! We had a table so we'd be able to watch the TVs since baseball was on. Our servers named is Cassandra and she was the best server I think we've ever had, she was so kind and helpful. She made sure to keep checking in and keeping us ordering more and more food. We asked what items she liked the most, and she was spot on for all her recommendations. We stayed I think 3 hours and just took our time trying different food items and the only one that needs work is the tempura it was undercooked and not crispy enough. My favorite item was the fried fish, and my cocktail the Pineapple Express. I had read a some reviews before going and we did hear they had a lot of bad reviews from previous staff. The restaurant has definitely turned around from what you've read, so if you had a bad first impression I would recommend going back and trying them again. The one thing I do want to throw out there is the lack of bartenders that's my only call out. My mom wanted an old fashioned and the guy who made it was a bar back and had no experience making drinks. So once you fix that then I think you'll be killing it. So until that happens my rating will be 4 stars, so that way there's a chance for improvement. Next time I'm visiting I will be coming back and hopefully Cassandra is still working, she's one of your best workers.
