I won't go into long details, but in short, and in no particular order: - the techs doing the shots are highly variable in their abilities. Some are lovely. Most will squeeze the living bejeebus out of your arm (I swear they leave more bruises than the needles themselves) and then wonder why you're flinching. PLEASE give better training. - the techs assume you magically know your schedule and doses of shots. They'll change your schedule and just assume that you know it, based on the color of your vial. Communication ... not so great. - Dr. Cooke was specifically recommended to me for being super detail oriented. Hmm? I had an actual near-death experience with drywall dust that he was super dismissive of, but thankfully I found a pulmonologist who was extremely helpful and understanding. He showed zero knowledge about air filtration, which seems important for reducing allergies. And the appointments are honestly so weird and creepy, looking at the color of my snot on random appointment days and touching all over my face with bare hands. - nobody answers voicemails - cool! I was traveling for 3 months and was proactive to discuss this with several people before going, since it would put a pause in my shots. Every person I spoke to gave different advice and didn't even follow their own guidance. They ordered my new vials two months early. There's just zero consistency or communication, which is stressful. - the waiting room is typically a disaster. People on their phones, watching videos with the volume turned up, sneezing and coughing galore with nobody bothering to wear masks... it's gross. I prefer to sit on the floor in the hallway to find peace and quiet, since nobody cares to make this room a nice atmosphere while you're waiting for shots and held for 30 minutes after. Since I've been a patient so long I feel trapped here, since I assume changing clinics would mean I need to start over. And I do like two of the shot-techs, out of the maybe 15 I have seen. But to know I will dread an hour a month to come here for shots, plus icky and unhelpful appointments... this is simply not a nice place.

The appointment (that I also paid for) was USELESS without the results of his allergy tests. He was there for one reason only --ALLERGIES! no test results = useless. I've tried to rebook his test but no one answers the phone; the voicemail isn't activated and no return calls. No online way to be in touch either. Great doctor in an absolute joke of a practice. We were taken to a room within 5 minutes and greeted by two nurses who immediately began consultation and setting up the IV. I love how quick the discharge process was -- they make it so simple for you. Shoutout to Colin and Sherry, they are the best nurses we have come across and that says a lot given we are in an ER every few months. They are very great at making you feel heard and overall just amazingly nice people. The best of the best. Dr. Wright was very knowledgeable and just as respectful/nice as the nurses. Dr. Wright spent the time with us that a lot of medical providers fail to do. He explained options, possible effects, and helped us with decision making. He never made us feel like he was in a rush. He listened and advised. Thank you for that. Overall, we were taken very good care of at Vik Complete Care and will certainly choose this location in the future. I managed to break my toe (don't ask... let's just say a garden hose won ‍), and since I was paying out of pocket, I called ahead to ask about pricing. Right away I was impressed. No one avoided my questions or acted annoyed about insurance or self-pay. They were kind, upfront, and gave me clear answers before I even walked through the door. When I arrived, Oscar greeted me and made checking in incredibly easy. He has one of those personalities that instantly puts you at ease. Friendly, calm, encouraging, and genuinely kind. Honestly, every school should have an Oscar. He's the type of person who could convince you that you could run a marathon with zero training just because he believes in you! Next, Sophia took my vitals, and she was just as wonderful. She was happy, bubbly, and chatting with my teenagers like we'd all known each other for years. Instead of sitting in an awkward exam room, we were laughing. Oscar then took my X-rays and, within minutes, was showing them to me. He even printed them onto a CD for me before I left and suggested I take photos of them as well. I've honestly never had that happen anywhere else. By the time we walked out, Casey already had my X-rays pulled up and immediately invited me over to look at them. He explained everything clearly, answered my questions without rushing, and even made me feel proud when he said, "You popped your toe back into place perfectly!" Not exactly an achievement I expected to celebrate, but I'll take it! Before I knew it, Oscar was right there with my walking boot, wrap, paperwork, and everything I needed to go home. The teamwork between everyone was incredible. I've been to plenty of medical offices where you feel like just another patient in line. This was the complete opposite. Everyone genuinely seemed happy to be there, and it showed. There was no long wait, no stressed-out employees, and no feeling like they were trying to rush me through. Just fast, efficient, compassionate care from people who clearly enjoy helping others. As a bonus, they even let my teenagers grab lollipops on the way out, which was the perfect ending to an already great experience. If I could leave more than five stars, I would. I think they tried to kill me...Why the hell did it take three months to get me to a surgeon? My…read moreexperience with Cardio Texas started out well. I originally went to the Cardiologist because my doctor found that I had high blood pressure in August of 2023. The Cardiologist Dr. Otero put me on blood pressure pills. I took the pills for a few months and stopped. In March 2024 I ended up in the hospital with extreme dizziness and got physically sick when I moved. I went through a plethora of tests and the emergency room doctor said I had possibly had a small heart attack and/or Stroke, the hospital said I had to see a heart surgeon immediately and set an appointment. When I spoke with Dr Otero he said to cancel the appointment with the surgeon and that he needed to do more tests to verify my condition before I see a surgeon. Then I was run through every singe one of the same tests that were performed when I was in the hospital costing me for out of pocket expense again. Then an angiogram was scheduled for the first week of June 2024. The results were not good, Bicuspid valve that needed to be replaced, a 70% blockage that required a double bypass and a aortic aneurysm which could burst at any moment, (same thing killed my grandfather). I was told that a surgeon would call me the next week to schedule an appointment. Well, the next week came and went and no call...then the second week went by and no call. So, I called Dr Otero's office and left a message with his assistant Andrenika Ellison that I had not heard from the surgeon. I never heard back from Cardio Texas, and this was three weeks after my diagnosis. I waited until the next week, called again, no answer, left a message and never heard back. I had other family members who also used Cardio Texas but other Doctors in the practice call to try to get a response, and STILL NO CALL BACK! Remember, I have an aneurysm that could rupture an any moment and I would die on the spot. This went on for THREE months, I called every week, without an answer or a returned call. Finally at the end of August a surgeon's office called. I scheduled an appointment and the first thing the surgeon said to me was " I'm very concerned that you were diagnosed with this condition and your cardiologist took three months to get you to a surgeon?" Then he said, my diagnosed blockage was not 70%, it was 85% blockage and I didn't need a double bypass, I needed a triple bypass and could I be ready tomorrow for surgery? Then the surgeon said, I could be almost recovered by that point if they would have sent you back in June. BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE, THEY ARE JUST LOOKING TO GET THAT COMMISSION FROM BIG PHARMA. Then, when I went to Cardiac recovery CARE with a physical therapist to help with my physical recovery. I was supposed to go to for several weeks but I ran into an issue the first day with my heart rate shooting up to 130 bpm. The therapist made me stop and instantly called to speak with Dr Otero and didn't get a answer. I was told to go home because we could not do any more exercises until he spoke with the Dr. Well, needless to say after making several calls and leaving messages the therapist never heard back from Dr. Otero or his office staff and would not see me without their call back. I'm going to have to say this is pretty sad for the type of doctors that are in this office...you know...HEART DOCTORS...or are they Grim Reapers!

Before going, I checked my Humana insurance, which listed this facility as a provider, so I arrived expecting to use my coverage. Once I arrived, I was told they do not accept insurance, which was very confusing and concerning given how they were listed under my plan. I was then informed that costs would start at around $800 or more, and according to the receptionist, they do not perform X-rays. Despite my insurance copay being $45, I was insisted upon to pay $800 upfront before any examination, without being seen by a doctor or receiving any medical evaluation. Due to the excessive cost, I declined treatment and left. The receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the interaction, which only made the situation worse. Being pressured for a large upfront payment before any care was provided raised serious concerns. Overall, between the lack of transparency regarding insurance, exorbitant pricing, and unprofessional behavior, I chose not to proceed with treatment and will not be returning. This experience left me very uncomfortable and concerned about how patients are treated here.

I left the OB completely freaked out (the on call doc when I went was absolutely awful) & not to mention, with no diagnosis or meds or anything at all. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I had a full blown anxiety attack for the next 24 hours. The following day I couldn't take it and came down the road to viks. Due to the intimate nature of my issue, I requested a female doctor but they told me they only had male; so I just took what I could get, not a huge deal. Front desk was fairly nice, filled out the papers, and they took me back fairly quickly. My doctor was Dr. Mcalasdair (apologies if i spelled that wrong). While I did originally want an ultra sound, he attempted talking me out of it. We went back and forth for a little bit but ultimately he said he was pretty confident he knew what was causing this, and while he didnt think an ultrasound was needed, he was willing to call their ultrasound person to come down and do it if I was adamant. I eventually caved and agreed to not do the ultrasound. Although he did make a little dig during our convo which I didn't appreciate (he said something along the lines of "I've been doing this for 30 years so I think I know what I'm doing). Please don't be condescending. Regardless of how long you've been in medicine, people are still allowed to advocate for themselves & their desires for their treatment. Anyway - aside from that, he was attentive and reassuring. However I've got to give it to the nurse - she really soothed me and my anxieties. She was such a sweetheart. She was maybe a middle aged lady with a British accent. She was so attentive, answered all my questions, checked on me, and when she could tell how nervous I was, she even brought me a little mini teddy bear with a viks shirt on to hold onto. No matter how old you are, little gestures like that really mean something, especially when you're scared. In the end, what I got was an IV in the arm with antibiotics. I believe it took like 45 min to fully drain. While I just sat there and waited, my nurse even brought me a heated blanket to make sure I was warm and comfortable. She was the best. They wrote me a prescription for an oral antibiotic but we were unsure if we were gonna make it on time before the pharmacy closed. On the off chance we didn't, they gave me my first pill ther so I wouldn't have to worry about missing a dose that night (in case we weren't able to get it until the next day). Thankfully we did make it to the pharmacy before they closed though. But that was really thoughtful. In the end, we ended up paying the ER price upon leaving. I haven't received any other bill in the mail so I can't speak on that experience yet... Also - the doctor called the next day to check up on me but I was unable to answer so he left a message. I called back the following day, but he wasn't busy with a patient so a message was taken. No call back. Called again the next day, he wasn't at the lakeway location, he was at another location. So I called the other viks location I was told he was at and they took a message since he was busy with a patient and told me he would call me back. He never did. I called again a day or two later back to the lakeway location and they gave me the same story and said they'd take a message but I told them I had already tried that multiple times and got no call back and told them I just wanted to speak to anyone on staff nurse or otherwise for them to answer my questions. So they put me on hold and I spoke to another doc I'm assuming, but not the one I saw, not dr macalasdair. This doc was pretty vague and dismissive with his answers. Basically it was like a couple word answers or "I can't answer that unless you come back in & we look at you again"...... mkay. He was unhelpful. Between the snarky response when I was advocating for myself in the room & the lack of call back and unhelpful response I got when I finally demanded to speak to anyone doctor on staff, that's why I took one star off. Otherwise, I had a solid experience. They fixed me and calmed my nerves at the same time. If anything goes awry with billing, I'll be sure to update my review. But for now, thanks for helping me!
