Wish I didn't have to say this, however, it was one of the worst experiences. The person who drew my blood was very unfriendly and would provide very limited responses to my questions. The quality of care is sub par. I understand that they do this on a daily, but a little bit of empathy should be part of the job description. I do not recommend at all. Quest takes appointments and walk ins, but if you have an appointment (say later in the day) they will not accept you as a walk in (say in the morning). And there is no way to change this. Doesn't matter that there are literally no customers there. Nevertheless, lab tech was very competent, diligent, and friendly. read more

****This review is for the STEINER RANCH 620 location (Randalls)**** I am giving one star because I cannot give zero stars. Quest Diagnostics is a high class joke of a provider. In the software world they would call it "vapor ware". So what went wrong? Well, I showed up for my appointment on time. It was made online the day before. When I finally found the lab tucked away way in the back of the Randalls grocery store, I went in and proceeded to log in. There is a screen that you log into, no person to person interaction. I log in and wait. Like 10 mins. Ok cool not the end of the world. The 2 ladies working there are all of about 12 feet away from me. In this tiny lab/waiting room. I am there for 10 mins - not a peep from these two workers. No eye contact, no "We will be right with you". Nada. Anyway, I finally get called. Yay me right? Nope. I go into the little blood draw room, sit on the chair with the armrest thing. Lab tech proceeds to confirm all my details, all good. She then browses the monitor intently. Scrolls, swipes, enters etc etc. She then turns to me and says "Oh so, umm, I'm sorry but the 'smear' test you are needing? We can't do that here. We do not have the right equipment to do that." So I am like "Oh ha? Well when I booked online it said I could do these tests here?". Her "Umm nope, sorry. But you might have better luck at another location." Me "Ummm ok, well I guess I will have to go elsewhere. Can you please tell me - because I do not want to drive all over and not be tested - where can I go to get this smear test thing done?" Her "Ummm I cannot really see where this can or cannot be completed. Sorry." Me. "Oh. Ok. So uhh do I go online and look for this test? And btw what is this test called again???". Sooo - no test. No referral to another Quest location that can perform this test. So I leave. No blood given. NO BLOOD GIVEN. I call my docs office, talk to admin and she goes "Oh just come here, we can do them all." So.... I do. Get blood drawn finally. Yay me right? Nope. I get a bill emailed and texted to me from Quest for a total of $1400 with my part "owing" of $70 or so. Yep. Billed me for no bloodwork. Long story short I email, text and call Quest. NO HUMAN TO TALK TO as they do not allow that option on there 1-800 number. Not possible. Only possible to "make a payment" or "question on a bill". So I email again and get a reply "You need to contact your ordering doctors office and ask them to cancel the referral." No mention of them NOT DRAWING BLOOD. Anyway, lodged a complaint with BBB. They can kiss my a$$ before I pay these incompetent greedy sheisters. AWFUL COMPANY - RUN FAR FAR AWAY!!! PS. I usually give all 5 star reviews, but these bandits are the worst. read more

I had an appointment. Check in was easy, I didn't have to type anything, just tap that I had an appointment and scan the front and back of my drivers license. #done I was 5 minutes early. I waited maybe 60 seconds and they were ready for me. The two ladies were lovely, very friendly and conversational and it distracted me from the fact that the technique there is very bad. Here's what they do, they put the tourniquet, they stick in the needle, and then they don't tape it down before inserting the vials. They hold it while switching out the different vials required for the labs. This meant that during every switch the needle in my vein was wiggling around and it hurt. I told them it hurt and they blamed it on the tourniquet. As someone who has a condition requiring frequent lab testing I can assure you this is not the appropriate way to draw several vials of blood. It was painful and the last thing I need is for that one good vein to get blown. They also didn't let me sit properly in the chair where my lab arm is relaxed on the arm rest. They wanted me to lean forward and drape my arm across the front bar, probably so they could put the sample tray on the chair instead of on the table which was so full of stuff there was no place to set it down. I liked the people well enough, they were very friendly and kind, and I liked that they have multiple staff so things can move along quickly, but I the poor technique and risk of blowing my one good vein is something I don't want to experience again if I can help it. If you don't mind waiting longer and you can choose your lab provider, I recommend the LabCorp across the driveway in the Walgreens. The man running it is professional and has a good technique. And if you are a Lake Travis local you'll enjoy speaking with him because he's lived here his whole life. The only downside of that LabCorp is it's just the one fella running things, sometimes the wait can be quite long. read more

I do not like this place. It's hard to schedule. I tried 5 times, then I gave up and went to Any Lab Test Now instead.

I would give zero stars if possible - RUDE employees. Arrived 9 mins late and tried to use kiosk - after 5 mins of frustration a tech comes out and says it is really finicky - doesn't work most of the time - you have to go REAL slow on the keystrokes and hit it softly on screen. By the time I loggged in - I was over 10 mins late - would not accept log in. Asked the tech - can I do walk in ? no - too busy today - NO ONE in the waiting area - and both chairs open. RIDICULOUS .... the kiosk then pops up for an 0910 appointment available - it was 0800 at the time. NEVER going back to Quest. read more

I only have bad things to say! I commonly hear they can't find my.vein to draw blood. I am then asked to wait for the other technician to arrive. She can't find one either so they use a painful one on my hand. I do have small veins but I've never had someone that can't find one. Twice they can't draw my blood because they can't find the numbers on the oaperwork. My doctor assured me it was on the paperwork - Or, their system doesn't recognize the numbers for the test my doctor requested. I do like their online scheduling and check-in process. read more

I went in for walk-in blood work. The two employees walked back and forth and ignored me for 15 minutes. When I asked to be helped, they asked if I had an appointment. I said I was a walk-in, and then they said they couldn't help me. Keep in mind no one was there--just me and the two workers. It would have been so much better if they acknowledged me when I walked in and didn't ignore me. It was super annoying and a waste of time. read more

I was able to make my appointment easily. Check in was super easy and got my tests taken quickly and performed with great expertise.

I have been to this location many times. They are very nice and very skilled. However, I was very impressed by the CPL across the street. CPL has someone at the front desk to help assist you. With this Quest location, I would need to make an appointment to even ask one question or drop off a specimin. The providers are great, but I feel this location needs to be combined with another one so that they have enough staff for reasonable customer service. read more

There is one nurse working here and they are way under staffed. I did not have an appointment because there were no appointments available on line for a week and it was urgent blood work. She came out of her room very stressed and was so short and didn't say hi, she just said if you don't have an appointment we probably will not get you in. There was no one else there except one gentleman who did not have an appointment either. She proceeded to talk to us for several minutes saying that we just couldn't get in instead of just seeing one of us which would have taken less time than telling us she couldn't see us. I suggested that she see the gentleman in front of me instead of spending the time telling us she couldn't see us. Needless to say won't be using Quest. read more

I made an appointment a week in advance for a blood test requiring 12 hour fast for 10:30 AM today, Tue. Dec. 14, 2021. Almost impossible to get through over the phone as many have stated already. Once I found the place and walked in, no one in sight at the reception desk of this tiny place. There is a screen with three prompts: scan your "code" (what code?), enter the code number or enter your name. Needless to say none of the first two worked simply because they never emailed me the "code". So the only choice I was left with was to enter my information. It said that it will be a 32 mins. wait and that they will text me. After 40 mins., I venture back in, there were three people sitting in the crammed waiting room. I waited by the door to ask the nurse why it said "walking" under my name since I had an appointment. Her answer: You are a "walk-in" in the system. Period. I can't do anything about it, as you see I am alone. (I did hear voices of people chatting the entire time in one of the other rooms on the left. I again mentioned that I already have an appointment for an hour ago. She assured me that I was now a "walking" and that all the people with proper appointments will be seen before me for as long as it takes. It is now 2:40 PM and they have not texted me to come in yet. And I am fasting. How is it possible to have all of the comments about the broken appointment system, poor customer interactions, etc. and yet the responses just say "thank you for bringing this to our attention"? I am scheduling an appointment with another lab and will never set foot in a Quest lab ever again. They should go out of business soon. read more

Clean facility, convenient and quick even as a walk-in, but be aware that appointments go first no matter how long you've been waiting. The staff were friendly and professional. Some of my tests were uncommon but the practitioner quickly figured out what needed to be done and with a smile. I recommend using this facility. read more

I love this place, I have never had to wait to long, they are quick and proficient. I have been to this location many times and have never had a bad experience. They are great phlebotomist, never a bruise. All the staff members have been great! If you had a bad experience, give them another chance. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional personnel. Located in the Randalls, I stepped out and left my 15 year old. She called me and said a parent needed to be there. I was back in there in 3-5 minutes. The tech then proceeded to skip my daughter bringing in people that had arrived after her. I let her know that I was there and she snapped that she would get to me. I asked how long since, she was bringing in people that had clearly arrived after us and that I was back within 3 minutes. She had also clearly continued to service people during my daughters appointment so she should not have had any issue to work us back in. She would not tell me when she would help us. We left 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment. I then spent 4 phone calls going through probably the worst IVR on to get to the end and have the automated system apologize for experiencing difficulties right before disconnecting me. Tried online through chat which also would not work and so drove to the Bee Cave location. The ladies there were amazing. Whoever manages 620 needs to do a review of this business and get your customer service tech under control. read more
