I spent a grand total of about 15-20 minutes in office and had a very pleasant conversation with Brittneey, who really put me at ease about everything and impressed the heck out of me with her skills (so dang fast!!). I definitely want to come back to this location the next time I have to have any kind blood test done...or just to get a B-12 shot. The other phlebotomist I was on the phone with the day before I walked in - you can do that here, but appointments are highly suggested, I would think - was very professional and handled my cold call very efficiently. Having a blood test has been my mom's fear for years. She has a great nurse that does a great job at drawing blood so when she came here to visit and it was time to do another test for her doctor to see results, she got very nervous again. However, Jessica did everything painlessly in less than 2 minutes, which was incredible. The process of making an appointment and getting the result is very seamless. They allow walk-ins but making an appointment is highly encourage. My mom booked 8am appointment, took care of the payment, and got out no later than 8:15am. I was told the result would be available around 12-1pm the next day, but it was already emailed to me before 8am the next day. You can stop by to get the hard copy if you'd like. I waited maybe 60 seconds and they were ready for me. The two ladies were lovely, very friendly and conversational and it distracted me from the fact that the technique there is very bad. Here's what they do, they put the tourniquet, they stick in the needle, and then they don't tape it down before inserting the vials. They hold it while switching out the different vials required for the labs. This meant that during every switch the needle in my vein was wiggling around and it hurt. I told them it hurt and they blamed it on the tourniquet. As someone who has a condition requiring frequent lab testing I can assure you this is not the appropriate way to draw several vials of blood. It was painful and the last thing I need is for that one good vein to get blown. They also didn't let me sit properly in the chair where my lab arm is relaxed on the arm rest. They wanted me to lean forward and drape my arm across the front bar, probably so they could put the sample tray on the chair instead of on the table which was so full of stuff there was no place to set it down. I liked the people well enough, they were very friendly and kind, and I liked that they have multiple staff so things can move along quickly, but I the poor technique and risk of blowing my one good vein is something I don't want to experience again if I can help it. If you don't mind waiting longer and you can choose your lab provider, I recommend the LabCorp across the driveway in the Walgreens. The man running it is professional and has a good technique. And if you are a Lake Travis local you'll enjoy speaking with him because he's lived here his whole life. The only downside of that LabCorp is it's just the one fella running things, sometimes the wait can be quite long.

When I was called, Michele, a woman of many talents, turned out to be a phlebotomist, too. I'm used to getting finger sticks for INR, but a venipuncture was required. I DIDN'T EVEN FEEL THE NEEDLE GO INTO MY VEIN, which Michele found on the first try! Usually, I'm like a pin cushion when others have drawn blood from me. SHE IS GREAT! I got there with my 15 month old son and brought his stroller so he could sit in that while I got my blood drawn. Come to find the elevator was broken for the building and we had to use the stairs. Quick trip back to the car and we walked up the stairs. I checked in and told the front desk lady about the stroller and that I would have to hold him while I got my blood drawn and she said no worries. Upon being called, my sweet lady asked if my son would let another nurse hold him and I said sure! I got my blood drawn, didn't even feel it, and another nurse held my son and gave him stickers right next to us. 10/10 for everyone there!!! In my car by 9:07am
