The time they told me I would be seen was 50min after. This has happened twice to me now. Additionally, once we were seen both times I've been in there after the doctor left we waited in the room forever until I finally went out of the room and said uhh can we leave? Reckless and Dangerous Experience at Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care I scheduled an appointment through the Baylor Scott and White app, believing I would receive care at a clinic that was fully part of the Baylor Scott and White network. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn they did not have access to the Baylor Scott and White system. Even more confusing, the building only had signage for Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care. There was no mention of NextCare or any indication that this was operated by a third party. From a patient's perspective, there was no reason to assume this was anything but a regular Baylor Scott and White facility. I came in with intense lower abdominal pain. During the brief evaluation, the provider stated it could be my appendix. That alone should have triggered immediate escalation, lab testing, or at minimum a referral to the emergency room. Instead, I was sent home with nothing but a prescription for a muscle relaxer. There were no labs, no imaging, and no follow-up instructions. I was in the same amount of pain I came in with, but now with a medication that could have masked the symptoms of a serious emergency. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts. About fifteen minutes later, I went to the Baylor Scott and White Clinic on Slaughter. The staff there took my condition seriously and quickly referred me to the emergency room. A CT scan confirmed I had acute appendicitis. I underwent emergency surgery to have my appendix removed later that day. Had I followed the guidance of the first provider and taken the muscle relaxer to rest at home, my appendix could have ruptured. That kind of delay could have led to a life-threatening infection. This was not just a poor experience. It was dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm. The most concerning part is that the provider openly acknowledged the possibility of appendicitis but still made the decision to send me home without running a single test. That is unacceptable. Masking the pain of a potentially fatal condition rather than investigating it further shows a complete lack of clinical judgment. I will be speaking with a patient ombudsman and formally submitting a complaint to Baylor Scott and White leadership. The fact that their app directed me to this location and their name is on the building means the care that happens there reflects directly on them. Patients should not be misled into thinking they are receiving Baylor Scott and White care when they are not. There needs to be full transparency about who is providing care and what services are actually available at the location. This experience was extremely unsettling. I trusted the Baylor Scott and White name and almost suffered the consequences of that trust being misplaced. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and as a call for change within the system. Patients deserve competent, transparent, and safe medical care. I nearly did not receive it. read more

My experience here was fine but don't expect much follow up care. After a week on an antibiotic they prescribed I got extremely sick. Called to figure out if I should continue taking it or otherwise figure out what was going on. Called three times throughout the day but didn't hear back until 8:30 at night. They are understaffed I think but much cheaper than the ER. read more

Recently, I had a severe burn to lower part of my left leg. The burn covered nearly 50 in.². For the prescription, I requested a fairly sizable quantity because of the surface area to be covered. What was prescribed was 20 g which is less than 1 ounce. Fortunately, a pharmacist at H-E-B was able to help me secure a much larger quantity. The pharmacist also recommended that I see another doctor because of the condition of the leg. Stay away from nextcare. read more

I did not expect psychological abuse when visiting this healthcare provider. My interaction with the front desk staff at approximately 8 a.m. on November 17th was a distressing experience as a patient. The issues I encountered include: 1. When I asked about the time of my scheduled appointment time and the amount of the co-payment, I was met with gaslighting and told to 'calm down.' 2. The front desk falsely claimed to have already checked with my insurance. However, upon contacting my insurance during my visit waiting for test results, I learned that the co-pay amount they provided was incorrect. 3. The front desk staff refused to give me the office manager's contact information, forcing me to seek it elsewhere. 4. Upon requesting a refund for the incorrectly charged co-payment as I was leaving, I was accused of being 'combative.' This accusation was made merely for asking standard logistical questions about billing, which is my right as a consumer and patient. 5. At the end of my visit, I received a sarcastic 'have a blessed day,' further contributing to the negative experience. This was the worst patient experience I've had in my adult life, odd to think when going to a healthcare provider but provided with more distress and extensive gaslighting within a just 30-minute timeframe. read more

I had a horrible customer service experience from the staff in the back. After the generous receptionist verified my child's school paperwork could be signed (a service their location's website says they provide--see attached photos) we waited nearly an hour despite having an appointment. Once we were taken back, it was clear the woman in intake had a chip on her shoulder and didn't want to be doing what she was doing. She immediately refused the paperwork and exam and didn't listen to what I had to say about what the paperwork was regarding. As a fellow healthcare professional, you can do way better. This place is DECEPTIVE AF. They may take your insurance, but the people who actually does the care may not be in your network. I paid my copay and now have to pay more money because no one told me that the people working there were not in Network. This is an extremely deceptive practice. I am now expected to determine whether each individual I see for healthcare is in Network, not the facility, but each individual. Not only is this unrealistic, since there are no lists of individuals working at facilities for me to verify who is and is not in network, it is literally impossible. BEWARE OF GOING HERE FOLKS!!! My brother came in today because he is ill with a virus causing congestion, headache, and body aches. He wanted to get tested for the flu and Covid as well as have his ear checked because of pressure build up. His appointment was set for 12:00 in the afternoon, but was not seen until 1:30 PM. All of that waiting was for nothing as the doctor was not even there in person. He was put on a telehealth call only to hear how he couldn't be properly assessed since they weren't there in person. Additionally, his tests were administered incorrectly and provided no useful information. A complete waste of money, time, and energy. I made an appointment for 11:20 for my very sick son today. We waited in the waiting room until noon, the whole time the front desk lady was talking very loudly on her phone, never paid attention to us when I was checking in and that I completed all the check in online as well as my insurance cards. After her 20 minute phone call she asked for copies of my insurance card. I informed her I uploaded them online she said well I need it I don't know what to tell you, there not there. After getting called back we sat in the exam room for and addition hour and a half. They measured my son and said he's 4'4" he's 5'0". At one point I had to use the restroom and walked out to the staff nurse and PA VAPING right at their desk outside our room! Finally at 1:20 they came in did a half ass check on him, even said oh his tonsils look good (he doesn't have tonsils!) mind you my son is wheezing, shallow breathing, chest is in horrible pain, coughing. The Pa said well it could be a number of things we will prescribe him a blanket antibiotic and see if that works have a nice day. We went to check out and I told the front desk lady that I need a school note for my son, she was sitting there watching Netflix with 1 AirPod in. She said oh hang on the computer computer is frozen. I said well if you want to email me the drs note or update it in the portal that's fine too. At this point I'm very frustrated. She said ma'am it's a printed piece of paper like an actual paper. I said I understand but it's not working she said ugh hold on let me try again. Paused her Netflix show and it worked. After we left my son declined even more and could barely breathe. Went to the ER, he needed a breathing treatment, ended up testing positive for Covid (he has no taste or smell) has bronchitis and pleurisy. We were in and out of the ER in an hour and 15 minutes which included X-rays and all the test needed. Do not ever go to this urgent care! read more

Had an appt 5:40 and still not seen as it is now 6:40 waiting in room with no feedback. Every visit no matter if I schedule an appointment hours out the way, Im still not seen when my scheduled appointment is. There is only 1 doctor In the whole establishment so you are stuck waiting at least 30mins to an hr regardless. Very poor customer service and needs more hands on. All the rooms could have patients and 1 doctor is going back n forth between rooms... not very hygienic read more

I made an online appointment. What a joke! When I arrived, I learned that I'd wait at least an hour. In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to muted warnings that an appointment does not guarantee that you'll be seen at that time. I did try to check the waiting list, but their website and app are confusing and I never got there. When I arrived at exactly the appointed time, the waiting room was at least half full. When I learned about the wait, I opted to go home and wait for a text to return. Once I was home, I decided to go to an ER. I was on hold for TWELVE minutes before I was connected to cancel my appointment. During the exam was told they couldn't really see the throat. Tested for strep but no flu or Covid. Would have been better off going to an ER for $100. My PA (Emily, I believe) was so nice and extremely prompt! All the staff I encountered we'r great. She helped with an abscess and I was able to pick up my antibiotics across the street at Walgreens within 5 minutes! Best UC experience I've ever had. This place is absolutely terrible, yes the PA is nice and friendly but the service is TRASH. The first time I came I waited over three hours when I scheduled an appointment before and checked in before but still waiting this long, and it was only for a TB shot. And now I am sitting in the waiting room again, which they said would not be a long wait to get my TB test read, but here I am an hour in. I came in right at opening and it is still just awful service. We have used this location a number of times over the years and usually been quite satisfied. You can make appointments or even have it set up where they call you when it is slow and a good time to come in. Make sure beforehand that your insurance covers a specific location! Not all of everyone's insurance does that. I also highly suggest coming in if you live in the area and have a file to update it with insurance changes. Now and then we have to pay a copay, but once it runs through all the books, we have received a check back. For a real emergency, in my humble opinion, go to the emergency room or a satellite emergency room. In those cases, the facility may take your insurance but not a specific doctor. During a bad time is not the time to also deal with a bunch of administrative issues. My 2 cents. read more

They had gotten me checked in and allowed me to wait in the lobby, the front desk staff were very kind and helpful, also reassuring that they would be with me. After a bit I did start to get a little impatient, it had been about an hour and a half which although was frustrating at the time because I had an appointment, I work this field and I understand the difficulty of being understaffed, or short on time. I sat there patiently and waited my turn. I knew the way things needed to go, therefore I provided them with what they needed from me pertaining to my visit and they got me taken care of in about 20 minutes. Now I know what you're thinking. I just got my rapid Covid test and the staff is very efficient and helpful with all my needs, definitely coming back!

i came in with my girlfriends 5th day with the flu, low severity. just to check her in and make sure she was good. they gave her 2 flu tests and a covid test , waited 45 minutes even after making an appointment for them to test her and talk to us for 10 minutes . it came out to 535$ so i asked for an itemized receipt on why it was so much when all they did was give her a flu and covid test and they couldn't. called the manager , she said she could lower my bill to 190$ or so but i've yet to see the $ or hear back from them. insurance or out of pocket i've been to many clinics uninsured without this problem, most of the time u pay a fee up front , and then maybe whatever else for the prescription. here they just screwed me for my $ and didn't have a description or itemized receipt for why it was so expensive for a 10 minute appointment of low severity. i've waited over a month at this point. it also turned out she had a kidney infection AND the flu. not just the flu, but they missed that as well read more

WAHOO - Wait At Home Or Office: It's an amazing service that works wonderfully. You call ahead and they put your name in and then call you when your room is ready. It's free and if you have the opportunity USE IT. The office itself is very nice and clean and the staff was good. I went in crying --a lot-- and a bleeding couple of toes. I felt like they were not as prepared to take care of broken toes as I assumed they would be. The medical assistant, technically a LMRT was very compassionate and worked quickly to get me back in the exam room asap and was patient and understanding with me as I sobbed uncontrollably. The main reason for the low rating is the lack of pain control. I was in a 10 on the pain scale and every now and then dipped to an 8 after they drilled holes through my toe nail... and all they gave me was 800mg ibuprofen. I understand there's an opioid crisis but this was wholly insufficient for my pain level, and even at discharge only wrote me a Tylenol 4. While the PA who saw me may have told me this verbally, I was so out of it and in so much pain that I didn't retain it at least-- but my discharge papers didn't say anything about following up or anything at all I might need to know after being told I had two broken toes. I ended up following up with an orthopedist the next day and learned that the radiologist they consulted missed the fact that my toe was also out of alignment. I was super disappointed with my care experience at NextCare given that a couple of severely broken toes can be a life-changing injury if not treated properly at first. read more
