The copay for a new patient at the urgent care is $200. I wouldn't have chosen this facility if I knew that.

Almost everyone is extremely friendly. The clinic has an "old-fashioned" to it.mIt's like going to see your doctor when you were young.

Was sent to a specialist after 5 pointless visits when I should've been referred right away. Don't waste your time or money.

He works hard to get to the root of the problem, not just slap a band aid on the symptoms. When you need a referral, he makes sure to send you to minded, caring professionals. Dr. Pekar is thorough, kind, and detail oriented. The office staff is also top notch and friendly. I can't say enough good things about this practice!!

He has been among…read morethe worst doctor's that I have ever had the misfortune to have dealt with for the following reasons: - Rushes the appointment - General disinterest - Does NOT fill your prescriptions In my initial appointment with him, he attempt to make an effort at listening to me however the entire appointment felt extremely rushed and he made nearly every attempt to end it within 10-15 minutes. Following this, it was nearly impossible to get a prescription filled by him to the point that in the last two months, my prescriptions were filled by other doctor's (despite significant efforts including calls, online messages in the portal, and online messages on the Victory Medical Klarna messenger ranging from 10 days up to day of). The staff was also deeply unhelpful, letting me know that in order to get my prescription refilled, I should use the online portal, but if I sent in my prescription request earlier than 5 business days, then it would be ignored. If I sent in later than 5 business days, it was also likely to be ignored. And when I did send it in 5 business days, it was still ignored. I have left several online messages, following up each day, in an attempt to just get a response, and in the past few months I have received none. And god forbid you have multiple prescriptions, because Dr. Pekar will maybe fill one prescription and completely ignore the others. They also look to charge your insurance as much as possible. By state law, practices can but are not required to drug test you for controlled prescriptions. Most doctors range somewhere between once to twice a year. Dr. Pekar will force you into doing a drug test EVERY month. So, not only is he an uncaring and lazy doctor, he also wants to take as much money from you and your insurance by pushing needless tests on you as often as possible. In sum, please do NOT see Dr. Pekar if you want quality care.

Well-run office with diligent attention to detail--COVID-19 care has been well-run, with due concern for everyone's safety. Never had a problem with parking; office is well set up. Exam rooms are clean and well-equipped. Blood can be drawn on-site. I rarely, if ever, have had to wait long before my appointment time; I'm surprised, as medical problems don't necessarily fit into nice reliable blocks of time. Getting through to talk to reception can be a challenge at peak times--but I suppose that is true with any office.

I've been seeing Dr. Babcock for years and he is really an excellent doctor and I hate having to switch from him. However, SAMC recently switched to One Medical (Amazon), meaning you have to pay a $200 subscription to even be able to read messages from the doctor, book an appointment, view/ refill prescriptions, etc. You can get a 'free' version if you're ok with being on hold for half a day but all that gets you is the ability to login and view messages when you owe them money... not doctors messages. They no longer have a direct number to call even though there's usually 2/3 people working at the desk every time I've been in there. This is truly saddening as again, Dr. Babcock has been a great doctor for me but this model is truly terrible. As bad as health care is in the US I can't believe we're straying even further in the wrong direction with subscription based health care! When I told a rep I did not want to pay for the app she tried to sell me an Amazon Prime account because there's a discount...

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Darren Geyer of Premier Family Physicians for the past…read morefour years. This includes family members of all ages from young children to seniors and a Type-1 diabetic. Dr. Geyer not only displays a keen medical knowledge and ability, but continually demonstrates a sincere empathy for the patients he is treating. His insight, sense of humor, thoughtfulness and stellar bedside manner all combine with his medical experience and ability to make him a truly outstanding physician. This friendly and professional demeanor is totally displayed by every member of his team as well, including Ky Yarborough, PA-C and Rebecca Ellspermann, PA-C, both of whom are fantastic in their own rights. Additionally, Premier Family Physicians has developed a web-based system that allows efficient and effective communication between the patient, Dr. Geyer and his staff members. Questions can be directed by secure email and answers are ALWAYS prompt and on point. Accommodation has always been made by the friendly and helpful administrative staff to arrange quick access to Dr. Geyer and/or his staff when the medical need arises. After hours assistance is provided by an efficient "call back" system from a Premier Family Physicians M.A., with elevation to a Premier Family Physicians physician when necessary. In my case, a Friday night call for an apparent kidney-stone, resulted in a first-thing Saturday appointment with another terrific Premier Family Physicians doctor, saving me a trip to urgent care or an emergency room. In this time of deteriorating medical service quality, Dr. Geyer continues to provide outstandingly personal medical care, supported and unimpeded by Premier Family Physicians. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be patients of such a truly fine physician.

This is very unprofessional and unethical doctor, rude staff, avoid at all cost like a plague.read more

Incredible doc...Excellent!!…read more Having worked as a Senior Physician Recruiter for many years, my requirements for a physician come from a trained background of what to look for and what to be wary of. I know how to check a background, I know what a thorough exam and appointment is, and I know what rushing a patient through in order to see more patients a day for money means to the patient. Additionally, I can recognize better equipment and practices. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. I am, therefore, beyond happy to recommend him to anyone needing an excellent physician in Austin. You'll see a difference in what is the norm and what happens here during your very first vist, without a doubt. -Alana

I could keep naming the names of all of the medical folk with more nice things, but let me please take a moment to speak from the heart to the meanest receptionist you may ever encounter: (I'm trying to be nice by not using your name.) Why are you so unhappy? Does ignoring other people's needs or concerns bring you joy? Would finding a job where you didn't have to work with people help? Do that.
