I've been seeing Dr. Babcock for years and he is really an excellent doctor and I hate having to switch from him. However, SAMC recently switched to One Medical (Amazon), meaning you have to pay a $200 subscription to even be able to read messages from the doctor, book an appointment, view/ refill prescriptions, etc. You can get a 'free' version if you're ok with being on hold for half a day but all that gets you is the ability to login and view messages when you owe them money... not doctors messages. They no longer have a direct number to call even though there's usually 2/3 people working at the desk every time I've been in there. This is truly saddening as again, Dr. Babcock has been a great doctor for me but this model is truly terrible. As bad as health care is in the US I can't believe we're straying even further in the wrong direction with subscription based health care! Well-run office with diligent attention to detail--COVID-19 care has been well-run, with due concern for everyone's safety. Never had a problem with parking; office is well set up. Exam rooms are clean and well-equipped. Blood can be drawn on-site. I rarely, if ever, have had to wait long before my appointment time; I'm surprised, as medical problems don't necessarily fit into nice reliable blocks of time. Getting through to talk to reception can be a challenge at peak times--but I suppose that is true with any office.

You'll get that, too. Need something faxed or transferred? Good luck with that. If "nothing" happens, count yourself lucky as there's a good chance that the wrong thing will be sent over. If you want to rub elbows with the clowns and carnies at the 'Circus of the Absurd' en route to seeing your doctor, this is the place for you. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. Then Dr Connor has someone take notes while she listens intently and looks you in the eye so that she can have a conversation and pay attention. She really knows her stuff and is not averse to questioning minds such as mine or alternative treatments and supplements. She made a recommendation for a lab test that my cardiologist should order for my high cholesterol. I already felt better walking out of her office after over an hour of actually being heard for the first time. She is worth every penny and I will be seeing her exclusively from now on. They will always get 5 stars from me. The reason for the three stars and honestly, I'd really only give them one star if it didn't affect the doctors reputation, is the utter rudeness I constantly experience with the front desk and the checkout process. Every time I call it's like I'm a complete nuisance bothering them. They are RARELY friendly and NEVER go out of their way to be helpful (unlike the physicians). I've let Cheryl know about this in the past but unfortunately, it continues to get worse every year. I actually dread calling or going. Very disappointing. I realize there are patients who can be a pain in the ass sometimes and how that job dealing with that can be frustrating. But don't take it out of the loyal, average patients who are coming to you for help.

ENT guy said it was in the top three worst ear infections he had seen that year.  Fast forward to this week - Just got released from the hospital after 3 days in the ICU for a subdural hematoma. The day prior to going to the ER I went to Premier and saw "Doctor" Hale, explained the horrible headaches I had been having without letup, slurred speech issues, typing issues - and he gave me an ibuprofen shot and sent me on my way with no follow up. He said he would call to discuss the emailed blood work results with a phone call - nada. The ER doctors were absolutely appalled at the zero interest/lack of concern about the cause of the headaches, which was easily determined with a simple CT scan.
