Dr. Carrasco is friendly enough, but my experience with her was disappointing. I eagerly showed up…read morefor my appointment hoping she could help me get my heath on track, yet she did not have my lab work available to reference for some reason(said her assistant didn't send it to her ?), which made the appointment completely worthless to me. So the rest of the appointment was taken up with chit chat and being told to read several books, such as The Wahls Protocol. I couldn't believe she thought suggesting books to me to read would suffice and be a sufficient exchange for the high fee I paid to consult with her. Definitely not what I was paying out of pocket for. I cancelled my follow-up phone consult with her, but her assistant messed that up as well, as she ended up phoning me anyway, which was very awkward. She really should have rescheduled my appointment since she was unprepared, and I should have left instead of wasting my time/health with someone so disorganized.

It has affected my mood, and I'd not slept well in months. I saw a pulmonologist, acupuncture, had cupping, saw ENT, my OB and PMD. 4 inhalers, multiple nasal sprays and antihistamines and opiate cough syrups later ... I was cured in 1 day by this woman. There is no balance in regular medicine to discuss food in wellness. As a doctor myself, I ignore it too, even, because it's not really taught. This doctor is not to be ignored. Love you Alex!! Thank you so much.

Incredible doc...Excellent!!…read more Having worked as a Senior Physician Recruiter for many years, my requirements for a physician come from a trained background of what to look for and what to be wary of. I know how to check a background, I know what a thorough exam and appointment is, and I know what rushing a patient through in order to see more patients a day for money means to the patient. Additionally, I can recognize better equipment and practices. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. I am, therefore, beyond happy to recommend him to anyone needing an excellent physician in Austin. You'll see a difference in what is the norm and what happens here during your very first vist, without a doubt. -Alana

He immediately addressed the issue in his office rather than referring me to a dermatologist to do the dirty work. I truly did need immediate attention and he gave it to me. I can't speak highly enough of him and his assistant for bravely going where no one should have to go. I hope this does not sound like an exaggeration, but I feel like I owe my life to him. It has only been a day, and I'm still a mess, but I have to express my gratitude to this incredible doctor. I also want to publicly apologize for cursing as he cut into it. I hope your medical emergency gets taken care of by Dr. Browning, or someone as talented and compassionate as he is.

Please avoid Dr. Nathan Pekar if you have any interest in living a quality life. He has been among…read morethe worst doctor's that I have ever had the misfortune to have dealt with for the following reasons: - Rushes the appointment - General disinterest - Does NOT fill your prescriptions In my initial appointment with him, he attempt to make an effort at listening to me however the entire appointment felt extremely rushed and he made nearly every attempt to end it within 10-15 minutes. Following this, it was nearly impossible to get a prescription filled by him to the point that in the last two months, my prescriptions were filled by other doctor's (despite significant efforts including calls, online messages in the portal, and online messages on the Victory Medical Klarna messenger ranging from 10 days up to day of). The staff was also deeply unhelpful, letting me know that in order to get my prescription refilled, I should use the online portal, but if I sent in my prescription request earlier than 5 business days, then it would be ignored. If I sent in later than 5 business days, it was also likely to be ignored. And when I did send it in 5 business days, it was still ignored. I have left several online messages, following up each day, in an attempt to just get a response, and in the past few months I have received none. And god forbid you have multiple prescriptions, because Dr. Pekar will maybe fill one prescription and completely ignore the others. They also look to charge your insurance as much as possible. By state law, practices can but are not required to drug test you for controlled prescriptions. Most doctors range somewhere between once to twice a year. Dr. Pekar will force you into doing a drug test EVERY month. So, not only is he an uncaring and lazy doctor, he also wants to take as much money from you and your insurance by pushing needless tests on you as often as possible. In sum, please do NOT see Dr. Pekar if you want quality care.

From the minute I stepped foot the entire staff was welcoming and friendly, made the entire experience fantastic. Dr. Pekar himself makes you feel like you've known him forever and has fantastic medical advice and really listens to your concerns. The facility is lovely, clean, and has loads of parking (something I always worry about) and there is a pharmacy for convenience right downstairs in case you need the prescription directly following your appointment! Highly recommend!
