I didn't plan on writing a review after my appointment, but I was so blown away by the level of service I received that I changed my mind. I have had many, many, many blood draws in my lifetime, but this was the best experience I have ever had. My appointment was at 10:10 am, so I arrived a bit early (that's just who I am, always). I checked in at the kiosk and was amazed that less than 2 minutes later, my name was called! I wish I could remember the Phlebotomist's name because she was awesome. No issues finding my vein (unlike another Quest location in Austin...). It was quick and completely painless. She was super kind and friendly as well. I was impressed at how clean and organized this location felt compared to the other one I had visited. I walked out of the building at 10:05 am, 5 minutes before my appointment was scheduled to start. Incredible! I can honestly say that has never happened to me at any medical facility before. Really disappointed in our experience today. My daughter had routine lab work ordered from her pediatrician that they couldn't do in office. The tests were ordered as a hemoglobin and a lead, capillary test. Making the appointment was easy but our experience left little to be desired. First, minimal interaction with the phlebotomist, which is fine doesn't really matter but I overheard the phlebotomist call our pedi (given the questions she was asking it was easy to infer that's who she called) and asked to change the lead test from capillary to venipuncture. Which is not necessary given both exams are capable and routinely done via capillary pokes (finger poke for older children and adults and heel sticks for younger infants). I stated we will not be doing a venipuncture. I was not provided with reasoning why it was "required" to be venipuncture when 1. The order specifically stated capillary. And 2. A hemoglobin test which did not specify the route of obtaining blood is also routinely a capillary test unless being tested in a CBC panel - which was not ordered. I was told that "since my daughter was one it couldn't be a heel stick" I asked what age had to do with the tests as my healthcare experience working at a pediatric blood and cancer center and in a level 1 emergency center we would do capillary sticks as a least invasive options prior to jumping to a venipuncture. In our blood and cancer center when checking hemoglobin specifically we also did finger pokes (older kids) or heel sticks (younger kids) so it's not like turning 1 was a magical event that changes the necessary route therefore requiring a more invasive procedure. I was then told that age had nothing to do with it but offered no other explanation and was again told "since she's 1 it is just how it's done" (this was the only reasoning I was given about 3-4 times throughout my time in the building today). Well I'm sorry, I don't care if that's how you do it for other patients, I am my daughters advocate, why would I consent to a more invasive option FOR A ONE YEAR OLD if less invasive options are available and even suggested by the CDC (since the test they questioned the pedi on changing the order to venous -that was ordered as a capillary I provided that general procedures are capillary then if indicated venous). Hemoglobin is a routine capillary procedure (you can see where some guidance is not recommended when babies are walking- you could have assessed my daughter and learned she is not yet walking and turned one a week ago, finger sticks are not recommended for newborns/neonates which my daughter is neither so you had two options you chose to complete neither). Regardless, the main issue is the lack of communication, no one explained WHY other than her age. I heard you speaking in the hallways mentioned "what if it coagulates" that's a risk with any sample and yeah likely higher with a capillary stick but it's also done this way in many other states and medical offices in Austin alone so that shouldn't be your excuse. You asked another employee if they could do a capillary stick which they said yes to the said "mmm no actually we can't because she's 1". Needless to say you may offer pediatric services but as a parent with 8 years experience in pediatrics you are not remotely pediatric friendly. I'm sorry for other parents who may blindly believe you and therefore subject their children to more invasive options (based on this I'd also assume you hold kids down) when less invasive options and more child friendly options and alternatives are available. read more

I had a very frustrating experience at this Quest Diagnostics location. I came in with a paper order from my doctor listing all the blood tests that needed to be run. I handed it to the technician, and she told me she would check the system to make sure everything matched. She confirmed that the system had all the same tests and then shredded the paper order in front of me. As a patient, I trusted that everything was handled correctly. The blood draw itself wasn't especially painful, but the technician did leave me with a significant hematoma-type bruise that lasted well over 10 days. The real issue came later. When I received my lab results and reviewed them with my doctor, I discovered that many of the ordered tests were never run. in fact, the majority were missing. Because the original paper order was destroyed, I had no way to double-check what should have been included. Now I'm forced to come back, fast again, get another blood draw, and potentially pay again for something that was entirely out of my control. I will not be getting my blood drawn here again as patients shouldn't be double checking that all tests are completed. I did everything I was supposed to do as a patient, and this mistake has cost me time, money, and unnecessary stress. If I could give half a star I would. Type of care - seems to be very hostile healthcare environment. Quality of care - hopefully the bloodwork I dropped off at this location gets a lot better quality of care than what I received as a former employee dropping off the bloodwork. Office experience - there seems to be a hostile relationship between the employees I've seen now during the seven minutes I was here. I would avoid this location. I had a bad experience here. I had to correct the lab tech from drawing the wrong labs. She was going to draw labs from an old doctor's order from last year. Luckily I caught her mistake and showed her the correct doctor's order I brought with me. She also had a hard time entering in the lab orders into her computer and ultimately I found out that she entered a wrong lab test when I went over the results with my doctor. read more

**Only go here if you want to risk exposure to Covid-19 because of unsanitary practices by staff** I came to get an antibody test for Covid-19. The lab technician had her mask down where her nose was exposed while she was prepping me for the blood draw. We are less than 3 feet apart during this time. She had already put her sterile gloves on while her mask was down past her nose. I said, "I'm sorry that I'm kind of nuts about this, but are you going to cover your nose?" She replied "I have a headache from wearing this mask all day, but YES, I will be covering my nose." While saying this, she makes a show of moving her mask up and down with her gloved hands, exposing her mouth and nose. She then begins to prep my arm with the same gloved hands that have now touched her face. She was short and rude thereafter. I'm assuming because I had the audacity to request that she wear her mask correctly while drawing my blood. I had an N95 on and a cloth mask covering the N95 for her safety, but was not afforded the same in return. I will never be back. read more

I have to agree with the many posts that proceed mine. Today makes the third time I have come to this location to get labs done over that past two years. In my opinion as a physician who has been to countless health care facilities in the past 25 years, this one has to be worst place I have ever been to in terms of customer service. I don't like to make sudden judgements. That is why I never wrote a review before. I know things can go wrong and patient care can get delayed. So I did not want to comment after a one off visit. But after three less than stellar visits I felt compelled to write a review. First, no one even cares to check whether people are sitting in the waiting room. There is a front desk window but I have never seen anyone actually sitting there. If it were not for the sounds of the staff chatting from inside the facility you might think it was closed. I can understand if you are busy but if you have only two customers in the waiting room and there are three lab techs in the back. It is only common decency to acknowledge we are there. I know this because after several attempts to hail someone from the facility at the front desk window just to make sure they knew we were there, I walked in through the door they had just left open to see what had happened. I am an ER doc. I know that patients can become unresponsive in a medical setting and require emergent management. What I found was three people chatting. In a very rude fashion I was told to go back to the waiting room and shut the door behind me. Second, at least know how to use your computer system. I mean were you chatting on the phone of painting your nails when the company showed you how to use it? Third, even if you don't give a crap about the people waiting in the lobby and you don't know how to use your computer atleast don't be rude to people. You are not doing us a favor by doing our lab tests. We as customers are paying you hundreds of dollars each to to do this service for us. We have many other places and companies that can do the same task. This place tarnishes the quest diagnostic brand. If this facility were managed by me I would have replaced most of the staff and made sure the folks that worked there understood what customer service is and how to use their equipment. If upper level management is not aware of the concerns with this facility I would be happy to discuss it with them. read more

Nathan the phlebotomist was VERY helpful today. I took my son in this morning for some blood tests. We had an appointment and we were called in very quickly. This was our first time here and we were planning on paying in cash, but Nathan told us about a third party we could go through to get a huge discount. He helped us pay less than half of what we would've payed, and was very kind and willing to help. We were in and out of there in a jiffy. read more

This place has to be the worst experience I've had to have with a "health care service center" I've had two consecutive days where I make an appointment for a "Urine Drug Screening" and after a wait in the waiting room with nobody at the front desk to answer any questions, I'm told to come back tomorrow because "they are no longer doing urine drug screenings". Now why would a place let me set my appointment for a specific service and after arrival and waiting im told they can't do that specific service. This place doesn't not seem managed well, if managed at all! If you're looking to get a urine drug test/ screening I strongly suggest not to come to this place! this is a terrible place to go if you need their services. I have instructed my doctor to never send me there again. I received orders the night before and got online to schedule an appointment. Of course everything was full, but it says on the website walk-ins are welcome. This clinic opens up at 7:00 AM. I arrived at 6:50 AM. The door opened up exactly at 7 AM, I was the only person there and registered on the kiosk. A lady walked out of the back room and asked if she could help me. I told her and she asked if I had an appointment. I told her now, she said I would have to wait. I said wait for what, it's 7 AM and there's not a single person in the waiting room. She said they had a scheduled appointment at 7 AM and I would have to wait a few minutes to see if they didn't show. I waited with an empty room 7:05 AM, 7:10 AM 7:15 AM and at 7:19 AM someone ran in, but their name in the kiosk and was immediately taken to the back. So I sat in there, waiting room for 19 minutes, not one single patient, but me and they refused to help me. To draw two vials of blood would have not taken any more than five minutes. If this individual would've showed up at 7:05. 7:10 , they should've been told they have to wait for me to finish. They missed their appointment.. I really am not sure how this company makes money when they are turning customers away. I was there for 19 minutes in a completely empty, waiting room, listening to the girls in the background, laughing and joking and not once single person thought about we get this guy done quickly before we get our next appointment. Thank God, I went off to a clinic and had my blood work all of 10 minutes. read more

Easy check-in, short waiting time (I was even a walk-in, no appointment), kind phlebotomist. I was in and out in 10 minutes, tops. My doctor asked for some blood work to be done here and I was so scared to go because of the reviews. I just got home from my appointment and things couldn't have gone any better. I scheduled my appointment online and received a text message from Quest an hour before my appointment with a link to check in once I got there. I arrived early, parked my car and clicked on the link saying I was there. Less than a minute later I received another text saying they were ready for me to go inside. As soon as I walked in a lady greeted me (I forgot to get her name) and took me to a room. She was very nice, making small conversation to keep me comfortable. She was quick to draw my blood and I got done with the whole thing before my actual appointment! Super organized and clean, definitely recommend! read more

Waited for 2 hrs only to be dropped off the appointment waiting list. Poor phlebotomist was the only one working with a waiting room of people. However, after waiting 2 hrs and being dropped off the "list" due to their system failure she told me I had to make a new appt bc she "can only go by the people in order on the list"-even though she'd seen me in the small waiting room for hours. On Saturday 2/27 around 11:25 AM I went to the Cedar Park Quest Diagnostics office for a pre-employment drug screen. Knowing that they are usually open until 12:00 PM (but was not aware of the 11:00 AM cutoff for drug screens since I merely went on Google maps and saw main lab hours), I entered an empty office and logged in. I waited for 10 minutes with no response. I had to nearly pound on the door to get someone's attention. When I did speak to someone, it turned out to be Lab Technician Stephanie Howard who was very rude and unpleasant. She lectured me that "drug screen hours have stopped" even though I told her 3 times that I was not aware of the hours since I went on Google maps. I also pointed out to her that she only had 1 patient in the lab (who I saw called in previously) and that my urine test would take only a couple of minutes. She yells at me saying "It does NOT take only a couple of minutes" (10 minutes total for the entire protocol) and "Drug screens are stopped at 11:00 AM for a reason," of which she refused to elaborate. She eventually relented and allowed me the "privilege" of peeing in the cup. Stephanie Howard was rude, condescending, impatient, and unprofessional. It is people like her who should not be allowed to work with the public. And based on the other 9 reviews I have seen about this clinic, perhaps Quest management may want to look into this further! read more

Horrible customer service! Even though I made appointment they did not have supplies I needed when I showed up for testing. An employee not wearing her mask properly was rude and told me I would have to come back tomorrow or drive to Leander location to get it. Leander is another city and not close. I asked how far she rudely told me I don't know. They are totally incompetent. The supervisor eventually went to storage area in another location on site and came back with test product ( took her 5 min) during that time rude female employee came back to argue with me without a mask in place and putting me at risk of Covid 19 but spitting saliva particles while doing it. Made an appointment at 10:00, got there a couple minutes ahead. Checked in on the kiosk, (there are no humans) and it gives you a choice to wait inside or out. I chose outside and got a text about 8 minutes later to go back in. Went in and waited 20 minutes only to realize there was a wait list on the TV screen and I wasn't on it. I tried checking back in and i was gone out of the system. After fasting all morning, I was hangry. No one to talk to, no one to call. Seriously, don't go here if you have another choice. read more

If I could give a 0 star, I would! This is the worst lab ever! They lost my orders, but blamed my Dr's office saying they didn't send them over, when I know they did because I was there when my Dr sent them over. I had to then call my Dr's office again and ask them to resend. My Dr's office told me they sent it and even received a confirmation. Apparently this lab is notorious for losing orders. When my orders came in via fax, the lab tech had the nerve to tell me that her coworker can assist me, even though her coworker literally just took someone to the back. Like what the heck is she doing that she can't help me?!?! Here I am waiting 1 hr and 15 mins past my appointment time and still no assistance! Horrible!!! If your Dr wants to send you to do labs, tell them NEVER to use this place. This is ridiculous!!! Labs should NEVER take this long to do! read more

The appointment time was met, however I asked before I left how do I get the results and the technician said just go on Quest.com and that is when the nightmare started. The site did not recognize me. I tried unsuccessfully to reset my password. That did not work. I tried resetting my user name. that did not work. I tried using the 'message' are on the website and it requires the technician's name. I don't know what her name was. These results are needed for my place of employment - and now I have to drive there and do it all over again. So don't make your appointment online - you will never get your results. read more

Worst experience ever signed up as waiting outside at the check-in, the working person doesn't care about how you checked in and allows any person they see first. When asked, I was told they never step outside to see who is waiting. Then why the option was there in the first place? Be prepared to stay in the waiting area else; you will be on the ditching list though the area is full! And no sign of worry on COVID-19 social distance. read more
