I was very impressed with how efficient this office was running the morning I visited. The employees at the front counter managed patients with courtesy, keeping the flow of patients moving. No one in the waiting room appeared frustrated for any reason. I also found the wait after checking in to be quite short. The phlebotomist was easy to interact with, and was happy to explain specifics about my blood draw. Finally, I very happy she was able to draw my blood on her first try (yes, I've encountered ones who did not--so this is important to me!). Depends on the time of the day you come, the way can be pretty long. They open at 7:30am; I got here at 7:40am and had to wait 50 mins to get my blood work done. I think the wait would be much less if you make appointment. So do that if you know your schedule ahead of time. The folks are very nice here and their process is pretty efficient. I go here every year for my annual physical blood work and the people who draw your blood are consistently skilled and overall, the place is great with service. read more

I walk-in, mid-morning, on Halloween Friday- the waiting room was just about full to capacity. Wondering how much of my day was about to be taken up with lingering in waiting, I sign in, dread blooming in my chest. A kind soul offered me a seat next to her, and I accepted it gratefully. Honestly, with about twenty people in the waiting room, I was in and out in under half an hour. The front desk staff were professional and patient, kind and efficient. They answered any questions I had. My phlebotomy experience was superb. The practitioner greeted me with warmth and kindness, and informed me that she was a student phlebotomist. I appreciated her honesty up front- and I consented to working with her. I am always happy to support students. Admittedly, I can be a challenging poke. However, I posed no trouble for my phlebotomy student friend. Her service was swift, and skillful. Over-all, my experience with CPL at this location was very pleasant. The location is not clean. Table where my needles etc were on had hair and dirt. It's also crowded, and disorganized. There was a long wait. Phlebotomist I got was nice enough, but not experienced enough with difficult draws (harder to see veins or rolling veins). Took serveral tries which is unsual for a lab. I also had a drop off, and the front staff was rude to my husband as well. Not recommended. read more

I've been going to CPL labs for years. They are really the big dog in Central Texas. The primary one I use is in Cedar Park off of Whitestone Boulevard near Highway 183. They are very efficient. They are also personable which I appreciate. They are very busy always, or at least it seems that way. I arrived at 8:45 and I am just now leaving at 10 AM. You sign in on a tablet out front with your basic information and have a seat. These days they have every other seat taped off for an attempt at social distancing. You then wait until the clerks call you up to the front where you give in your lab paperwork and your ID and insurance cards. Personally, I generally don't give my supplement because Medicare pays labs at 100% but they ask for it and so I gave it to them. It's not enough to argue over that's for sure. After you do that part which is generally the longest part of waiting you then wait for the person who's going to draw your blood to come out and call your name. I had a very nice Young gentleman today. He was friendly enough. After examining both of my arms he attempted to draw blood from the left but was unsuccessful. He reviewed the right arm again and then asked me if I'd ever had blood drawn from my hand which I believe I had at least one time in my life so he went to inspecting my hands. One of my veins on the left looked cooperative so that is where we Went for the blood and he was successful. There went three tubes. I'm hoping I lost at least I a 4-6 ounces of blood. (It's the only way I would lose anything these days.) Yes masks are required for obvious reasons. My experience was eight out of 10. I think the worst thing for me was there was a young child -maybe 6-having to get blood drawn that screamed like she was being murdered the entire time which I can totally understand but it was very difficult for me to listen to. Made me want to cry. I heard one of the clerks say that when they arrive at 6 AM there's usually a lineup so I'm not sure I could give you a suggestion for less wait time. read more

After visiting my doctor for my annual check up where I thought they were going to do my blood work. The front desk nurse informed me because of my insurance, I had to go to CPL or get charged big bucks. It's a first come first serve place so I immediately drove the five minutes to get there. It is located in the back of the Railyard so there was plenty of parking. Walked in to find only one person before me. Handed the front desk the paperwork from the doctor and pretty much waited only 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes (where I was seated over 12 feet from the front desk) we exchanged jokes with the front desk staff. At this time there was another client waiting, who I assume was a nurse at a doctors office. Then I was brought to the back where they take blood samples. I hate this part as my arm veins are almost non-existence. The nurse decided to take the blood from the veins in my hands. First hand got one vial before it stopped flowing. She goes to second hand and gets the last two vials. It was relatively painless but still prefer a vampire to suck my neck for the blood. The place was clean. The staff efficient and friendly especially considering these COVID 19 times. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. read more

Great location! They take walk-ins which is great but the wait was a bit long even though no one else was in the waiting area. They have tons of chairs in the waiting area and it was very clean. They have a checkin screen that you can check into as soon as you walk in and then someone will be out to take your info down along with insurance info. Their staff was professional and friendly-ish. They are located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking. Their signage is a little small so you might be better off looking for the children's dentist office which is their neighbor. read more

OK, so I'm an easy draw, right? I leave my ENT's office just up the road with papers for bloodwork. I have a favorite CPL office much closer to my house, but I think to myself, "It's right here, just get it over with". Think NOT. First, the location is in a strip center surrounded by pawn shops, jewelers, and bad restaurants. That alone should have been a clue. Second, their front desk staffer doing paperwork and patient intake has all the professional aplomb of a cedar whacker. Not surprising, given the locale. Moreover, sitting in their waiting room for just five minutes made me long for an hour in the Discount Tire waiting area. It's THAT cramped. Of course, it would be my luck I got the phlebotomist who failed her ACC training and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn if you put her six inches from it.with a sledgehammer After two attempts, including one where she totally missed the vein by going completely through it, another staff member blessedly nailed it on their first try. I almost hugged him, but that's not in my DNA. Of course, afterward, my arm looked like a mummy who just had a violent date. Please go to Round Rock or Austin to get your bloodwork done. Or BFE. For that matter, use a rusty nail and a dirty test tube and do it yourself. You'll come out ahead. read more

I went online and made an appointment for the next day at 2pm. I arrived at 1:45 and checked-in electronically. They did the typical check-in process of checking ID, Ins card, etc. and found my doctor's order right away. I had barely sat down to wait when I was called back. The tech did a visual of both my arms to identify the best vein. No issues getting the draw and I was completely finished and out the door by 2pm. Great service. I have never been a fan of blood draws and needles. They make me anxious. Today, I was at CPL for a blood draw and it took forever for the tech to draw blood. It's uncomfortable and I'm anxious so I say "this is taking forever." I swear the tech did this on purpose. Instead of putting the cotton ball on then wrapping my arm with the blue tape and dismissing me, she had me sit there holding the cotton ball to my arm while she filled out the labels on the vials. It's a small matter in the grand scheme of things, but seemingly petty from my end. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! What a terrible place. The guy that took my blood, Ben, was so incredibly rude and unprofessional. I walked in, checked in and was escorted back to have my blood drawn. When I sat down there was a large shop fan on the floor, which was on high pointed right at me, in an already very cold building. I asked politely if there was any way that it could be turned down or off, and he proceeded to roll his eyes, scoff, and aggressively pull the dividing curtain closed. "There, it's fixed!", he said as he rolled his eyes again. I was so taken aback I didn't know what to say.. so I just kept quiet. Then as he was preparing the needles and tubes, I explained to him that my veins rolled and are very small, and asked if he could please use the butterfly needle as that was the only one that ever worked on my body. He acted as though he didn't hear me and began wrapping the rubber-band around my arm. Then he started at my arm with a very large needle. I stopped him and began to explain, again, that those never worked on me and asked that he please use the butterfly. He began arguing with me, and I had to explain myself YET again. He then threw the equipment down and walked off. I honestly didn't know if he was coming back. He eventually returned with what I originally requested and pulled my blood, as he was still griping me out. I got out of there as quickly as possible, but honestly, Im really concerned if my bloodwork will even be sent off or processed properly. What a shady and unprofessional place! Went here today 2/7/2022 around 9:00AM. The inside was extremely packed that I just waited outside after going into CPL to sign myself in. People were packed like sardines inside. I waited over an hour before getting my blood work done. Ben did my lab work and was very quick and had me out in no time. So if you can, ask for Ben to do your blood work. Maybe I just went at a bad time since it was on a Monday and early at that. Next time I will figure out which days are not so busy and times and go during those days and times. read more

This place opens at 7 am which is super convenient to my 8-5 working hours. But if you get here at 7:30 am there is usually a 40 minute wait. I got here today at 6:43 am and I was fifth in line. I recommend bringing a physical lab slip in from your doctor, sometimes it's difficult for them to find the electronic version. I feel it's a quicker in and out process if I bring it for them. As most people do, I have a busy schedule so when I need labs done I make sure I know the hours so I can fit it into my day. I showed up at the Cedar Park CPL at 6:50am to stand in line for the 7:00 am open time as the website stated only to find out when I get there that they've changed their hours to 7:30 am! Imagine how that works with patrons that need the blood work done but also need to get to their jobs on time in order to pay for said blood work! Do your jobs cpl and coordinate with all involved and f you're going to make a change! With the amount of work you're doing in the state of Texas maybe you should have changed that time to an opening of 6:30 am instead! read more

I am giving the one star only because the front desk receptionist and one of the nurses were very nice, but other than that, meh. The phlebotomist was rude and lacked personality. The place was dirty (bloody gauze on floor and some kind of wipe sitting in the waiting room), and I was scared to let my kid sit anywhere. Here is a tip for the phlebotomist, when a small child comes to have 3-5 tubes of blood drawn, try to endure yourself to the kid, instead of being forceful towards him and looking at him like he is being ridiculous for getting upset at the needle. She had absolutely no bedside matter. I understand not wanting to hear a child yelling, but at least try to make it easier on them. NURSE DROP-OFF stay away!!! REROUTE to CPL 2500 lakeline blvd. approx. 6 miles from this CPL!!! This one star is for the lady receptionist who always stay on the left side of the long desk. I've been here couple of times to drop-off specimens. The very first time, she denied me of getting a replacement of 2 lavander tubes I've used for 2 HgbA1c testing, she said my company should've provided me with this and I thought, she's only following policies so totally fine with me. Today, I petered out of sterile cup in my trunk for a urine test and decided to swing-by this CPL which was 4 miles from my location at that time. Although I have a gut feeling I will be denied again, I had hoped she will give consideration as this is only a single unassuming innocent sterile cup plus my schedule today is in a pinch. And I WAS RIGHT! She totally denied me a single sterile cup. What bothers me here to be honest, is the way she denied me of the little precious cup. She was calm, appears unapologetic with smear of satisfaction on her face as she was telling me that I need to pick it up at CPL main located in Central Austin. I did not waste my time anymore. Blah! I left and drove to a nearby CPL located along lakeline blvd. Still in cedar park. There, they have 2 graceful ladies who was more than willing to give me a cup and 2 royal blue top tubes. No issues No dramas. No line, clean shiny floor and most especially, pleasant and professional attitude. That totally recompense my bitter experience with CPL E Whitestone lady. The staff at the front desk did a good job, the wait was short, and the phlebotomist (Skye) was top notch -- warm, kind, and professional, and knows how to handle a patient who is a difficult stick. During a time with lots of medical issues, we are grateful to have such great healthcare and support from CPL. I've had Shantell (might not be spelling that right) and she's done two blood draws in the last week and I LOVE her! I'm terrified of needles but her sweet spirit and sense of humor eases my anxiety, and I can hardly feel anything when she's doing her thing. I have been to five CPL locations in my life here in Austin. This has to be the slowest one I have experienced. The lobby was full when I arrived, and only one person working the front desk. It took 25 minutes to be called up to the desk to hand in the paper work, and another 20 minutes to be called back for a 5 min blood draw. I had no complaints about the person drawing blood, she was really good. There are dozens of CPL locations in Austin, if you don't have at least 45 minutes to waste, then choose another location than this one. read more

This place is in the running for the slowest CPL on the face of the planet. They're incredibly understaffed. They are taking paperwork from one person every ten minutes, and getting one person back for blood work every 10-15 minutes. You can get here right when they open at 7, and still wait at least 30 minutes. I don't quite understand how they're still operating or how management hasn't taken in some of the complaints about wait time. The patient's time is not valued here. read more

I'm 19 and having to get my blood work done every month. I'm terrible with needles and blood. I got in and there was no wait. When I was getting my blood drawn and I told the lady that I felt sick and she immediately stopped. She then called another worker to help me feel better. She got me wet paper towels for my neck,brought me a fan, and water. After about 5 minutes I felt better but we didn't get enough blood. So she moved me to the room where I can lay down and the lady was constantly checking on me and watched me walk to my car to make sure I made it safely. read more
