CPL in Cedar Park off Whitstone Blvd.

I've been going to CPL labs for years. They are really the big dog in Central Texas. The primary one I use is in Cedar Park off of Whitestone Boulevard near Highway 183. They are very efficient. They are also personable which I appreciate. They are very busy always, or at least it seems that way. I arrived at 8:45 and I am just now leaving at 10 AM. You sign in on a tablet out front with your basic information and have a seat. These days they have every other seat taped off for an attempt at social distancing. You then wait until the clerks call you up to the front where you give in your lab paperwork and your ID and insurance cards. Personally, I generally don't give my supplement because Medicare pays labs at 100% but they ask for it and so I gave it to them. It's not enough to argue over that's for sure. After you do that part which is generally the longest part of waiting you then wait for the person who's going to draw your blood to come out and call your name. I had a very nice Young gentleman today. He was friendly enough. After examining both of my arms he attempted to draw blood from the left but was unsuccessful. He reviewed the right arm again and then asked me if I'd ever had blood drawn from my hand which I believe I had at least one time in my life so he went to inspecting my hands. One of my veins on the left looked cooperative so that is where we Went for the blood and he was successful. There went three tubes. I'm hoping I lost at least I a 4-6 ounces of blood. (It's the only way I would lose anything these days.) Yes masks are required for obvious reasons. My experience was eight out of 10. I think the worst thing for me was there was a young child -maybe 6-having to get blood drawn that screamed like she was being murdered the entire time which I can totally understand but it was very difficult for me to listen to. Made me want to cry. I heard one of the clerks say that when they arrive at 6 AM there's usually a lineup so I'm not sure I could give you a suggestion for less wait time.

Great location! They take walk-ins which is great but the wait was a bit long even though no one else was in the waiting area. They have tons of chairs in the waiting area and it was very clean. They have a checkin screen that you can check into as soon as you walk in and then someone will be out to take your info down along with insurance info. Their staff was professional and friendly-ish. They are located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking. Their signage is a little small so you might be better off looking for the children's dentist office which is their neighbor.

This location is always so busy and so slow!! They really need to staff more people here, especially during the morning.

He gave me information about my knee, which other orthopedists had never mentioned. He offered me two options for treatment, leaving the decision to me. I appreciated that. My one issue is that they were running behind on my appointment day. I waited longer than 30 minutes. This really wasn't acceptable. I look forward to a long relationship with this doctor and this practice.

The biggest problem is the front desk at Leander. Tina, in particular, is a problem mainly because…read moreshe lies. I really have strong feelings about lies. She put me and my doctor through a whole mess of stuff because the referral "didn't look right" to her. My doctor waited on hold (on my phone) repeatedly, and then even handing me back the phone and whining "I don't wanna talk to her," referring to the doctor, while she ran around the office finding people to ask and getting different opinions. Finally, she said she was going back to speak the manager. Then she came forward and said "We'll take the refferal." I left after rescheduling the appointment. Today, she called and told me that they won't take the referral. I said, "Yesterday, you said you spoke to the manager and then came back and said 'we'll take the referral.'" She then said she never said that. Umm, yeah ya did. She said "I said 'Maybe' we'll take the referral.'" That is a bald-faced lie. Then she added that she never spoke to her manager. Which means she lied yesterday as well. Once a person who represents a professional office lies to me, I no longer trust. Had she called and said "I'm sorry, I was mistaken about the referral. It turns out...." It would have been a whole different story. Spoke with insurance. They said the referral is fine. Several doctors in THEIR office have taken the same referral. Now I'm on the phone with the insurance and their office and they're telling us something TOTALLY different than what TINA told us. This place makes no sense at all!
