This practice does NOT CARE about patients - they only care about money. I felt milked for money…read moreat every turn. 1. Dr. Danney would not provide any prescriptions without an office visit + an xray, then a 2nd visit for an MRI. (Meanwhile, I was in pain the whole time.) 2. The office checked with insurance for pre-approval (which was granted), but only for their services, so I now have unexpected bills of $10K+ because the other participants in the surgery apparently do not accept United healthcare. (And this is NOT gov. provided insurance. It's top of the line private insurance.) 3. Post surgery follow up visits ($340 ea.) are NOT included in his surgical fee, so that's another $340 billed for each visit. 4. After being paid on-time, in-full for everything to date, post-surgery I switched jobs / insurance and the office would not work with me as I was getting my new insurance in place. I asked if I could see Dr. Danney and have them submit the insurance claim a few days after a visit, once the insurance records had been updated (which was taking longer due to Covid). Absolutely not! They would not schedule or do any surgical follow up unless I agreed to self-pay in full up front. After that conversation, the office quit trying to do any follow up or schedule any appointments with me (as I assume they were concerned about being paid.) 5. The office visits are very rushed (so they can see/bill as many patients as possible within a given timeframe) and nothing is pro-offered (e.g. I had to ask for arm sleeve to prevent chaffing because my arm was raw since I had to wear a sling for 6 weeks 24x7 post surgery. They wanted to give me one (and this is a VERY low cost item - like a sock). I had to ask for two so that I could wear one while the other was washed). Dr. Danney did not follow up after surgery to see how I was - but his office was able to call multiple times to have me schedule a follow-up appointment (to book additional revenue). I've never experience a doctor who did surgery on anyone who never called to check on the patient within 24 to 48 hours post op. His staff is not reliable. They do not return messages. I left 3 separate messages about rescheduling my surgery - none of which were returned. I called at 12:30 on a Monday urgently requesting pain medication. His nurse, Jessica, did not answer the phone nor did she respond to my vm or call in any medications. I called back a bit later and asked the receptionist to speak with her - she could not and only sent her an email requesting a refill and that the nurse call me - and this too was completely ignored. I tried to call the on call Dr. at 6:15pm, and was told by the answering service that the practice WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES respond to after hour requests for pain medication. They flat out refused to contact the on call doctor even though I am in pain, out of meds and can't sleep. Finally, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use the physical therapy services offered by Dr. Danney's practice. I initially chose to work with them because I figured they must deal with rotator cuff rehab a lot since they were part of the same practice. The therapist I was assigned to was NOT well educated and was not able to make a decision or respond to anything without looking at her computer. i asked to switch therapists, but was told no. What's worse, I am supposed to be having rehab 3x a week, and I was only able to get 2 Physical Therapy appointments over a one month period. This has set my recovery back significantly - increasing my pain and dramatically reducing my flexibility. I am now concerned with my ability to achieve a full recovery. have switched rehab providers and there is a 1000% difference in quality of care. I would not recommend any part of this practice to anyone based on my experiences.

I have had the need to visit 3 orthopedic doctors in my area in the last few years. I recently…read morereturned to Dr. Danney because he is by far the very best one could possibly hope for. Dr. Danney is current in his field, companionate, knowledgeable and very personable. He explains test results and treatment completely and patiently answers questions. I wish I could give him 10 stars!

I honestly don't know how this surgeon and office receives such high stars. I've gone to this…read moredoctor twice now. One in 2021 and one just a few weeks ago. Both times I was overcharged dramatically for awful care. This last time I brought them an MRI for my knee which had excruciating pain. Scott Smith looked at the report only, never took x-rays, and never reviewed the actual MRI. He immediately went to full knee replacement as my only option. They gave me a Cortisone shot in my knee and charged me over $600 as a cash pay. Even though I was a former patient that back in 2021, when I was ripped off the first time and had to go to a different surgeon for surgery. They hit me with a new patient fee because it was just over three years since I've been there again. Then charged me an additional $50 for God knows what after the fact several weeks later, on a bill I just received. I went to another Surgeon who came highly recommended and paid $125 for the office visit as a cash pay and another $125 for the x-rays which showed that I had the knee of a 30 year-old man but needed to clean up around the knee to take care of some tears and get rid of some impinging cartilage. The surgeon actually remarked that Scott Smith should've known better and should have reviewed the MRI and take x-rays as a standard practice. It seems Scott Smith and his staff are truly only interested in the money and not your health. I called their office three different times to try to get the new patient fee reduced which they refused and I also asked them to withdraw the new $50 charge as I paid everything in house the day I was there. They refused. They will be sending me to collections for the $50 as a final slap in the face. There are too many good doctors around town to just go with whoever your PCP recommends because they're part of a specific group. Be very careful as this guy would've scammed me for tens of thousands of dollars on a knee replacement when all it would've taken was a couple thousand dollars to clean up my knee. Again, there are way too many choices for good knee doctors. Buyer beware!!

3 years ago I fell on both my knees while walking the dogs; my ankles just went out. I knew…read moresomething was wrong because of the tremendous pain. I called Texas Orthopedics and was referred to Dr. Smith. They took x-rays and he diagnosed me with arthritis. Told me it was just old age and I would just have to suck it up and live with it. A YEAR later, still in tremendous pain, I finally went to another doctor who did an MRI and confirmed I had a torn meniscus in my right knee. Dr. Smith is dismissive and does not care about the patient at all. I wish I would've read all these reviews before I even wasted my time making the appointment with him. My bad for waiting so long to get a second opinion.

From the moment I walked into the waiting room, it was clear this is a churn-and-burn type of practice. Tons of people, everyone in and out within 10-20 minutes. I came in specifically requesting electroacupuncture. I told Dr. Jeff this directly, and both he and another staff member nodded and said "great," as if everything was aligned. It was not. I was taken into the "acupuncture" room and asked to lie face down on an extremely uncomfortable chair that was clearly meant for chiropractic adjustments- not acupuncture. I explained my tendinitis. He nodded, placed four basic needles in my arm, and said someone would come back to remove them. About 10 minutes later, a woman came in and took them out. There was no electroacupuncture involved at any point. No leads, no stimulation, nothing remotely resembling what I explicitly asked for. Then came checkout where I was shocked to be told I owed $175. I was informed there was a $100 "new patient" fee and $75 for the treatment. This felt completely unjustified. I was there for maybe 25 minutes total. In any legitimate acupuncture clinic, you're lying comfortably in a calm room for at least 45-60 minutes. There was no new patient exam this felt so scammy. I unfortunately booked a second appointment, mostly because I was exhausted from work and didn't want to search for another nearby provider, and didn't want to pay yet another $100 new patient fee elsewhere. That was a mistake. The second visit was also in and out within about 20 minutes. This place is an absolute rip-off for acupuncture. I do want to say that everyone who works here is very nice. That's not the issue. The issue is that what they offer is not real acupuncture as most people understand it, and it's wildly overpriced for what you actually receive. They should honestly remove acupuncture from their business name. I would like a refund.
