It's always hard for me to write a "not great" review, but I do feel obligated to warn people that this is not the place to go for acupuncture. From the moment I walked into the waiting room, it was clear this is a churn-and-burn type of practice. Tons of people, everyone in and out within 10-20 minutes. I came in specifically requesting electroacupuncture. I told Dr. Jeff this directly, and both he and another staff member nodded and said "great," as if everything was aligned. It was not. I was taken into the "acupuncture" room and asked to lie face down on an extremely uncomfortable chair that was clearly meant for chiropractic adjustments- not acupuncture. I explained my tendinitis. He nodded, placed four basic needles in my arm, and said someone would come back to remove them. About 10 minutes later, a woman came in and took them out. There was no electroacupuncture involved at any point. No leads, no stimulation, nothing remotely resembling what I explicitly asked for. Then came checkout where I was shocked to be told I owed $175. I was informed there was a $100 "new patient" fee and $75 for the treatment. This felt completely unjustified. I was there for maybe 25 minutes total. In any legitimate acupuncture clinic, you're lying comfortably in a calm room for at least 45-60 minutes. There was no new patient exam this felt so scammy. I unfortunately booked a second appointment, mostly because I was exhausted from work and didn't want to search for another nearby provider, and didn't want to pay yet another $100 new patient fee elsewhere. That was a mistake. The second visit was also in and out within about 20 minutes. This place is an absolute rip-off for acupuncture. I do want to say that everyone who works here is very nice. That's not the issue. The issue is that what they offer is not real acupuncture as most people understand it, and it's wildly overpriced for what you actually receive. They should honestly remove acupuncture from their business name. I would like a refund. read more

The next day I got a text notifying me of the cancellation policy for an appointment I didn't make, so...I don't recommend. Amending to add this since I can't reply to his reply.... My first visit was well organized and I like the professional, yet relaxed environment. The previously had worked with a different chiropractor office doctor was able to access my x-rays, reviewed them and begin treatment that day. I honestly was in quite a bit of pain when I came in and I really believe they took interest in that and tried their best to help me out. I'm already scheduled for my next appointment which is tomorrow. The last thing you want when you're in pain is a difficult experience. just to get checked in. This was so easy. I've recently started going to the chiropractor because of pregnancy issues and at the suggestion of my OB I decided to check out Dr. Swansons office. I was a little worried at first as I didn't know how chiropractors could adjust or assist pregnant women, however, I was left completely happy with my treatment. He was also able to help me with my RA pain. The office staff is extremely nice, there's never a long wait time. And their traction machine is absolutely heavenly. I would recommend Dr. Swanson if you are looking for a chiropractor nearby. He comes from a long line of other chiropractors and he knows his stuff. He's always very happy to answer any questions and he doesn't rush you or make you feel like you have to hurry up during your appointment with him. I could never thank him enough. And his team. After being rear-ended by an 18-wheeler, I had excruciating pain in both ankles, both knees, both shoulders, my lower back, and my neck. I also had numbness in my hands and feet. I went to a chiropractic clinic in Cedar Park and after a month's worth of adjustments and physical therapy, I was not any better. I then switched to Dr. Jeff Swanson at Cedar Park Chiropractic and Acupuncture. After his assistant, Jessica, took a set of X-rays, he examined them and did a preliminary examination of me (my strengths, weaknesses, limitations, range-of-motion, and so on). He then talked with me and discussed a treatment plan with me. He told me what I could expect to possibly be reversed and what may prove to be permanent. I liked his honesty and straightforwardness. After the first adjustment, my neck was able to move more freely, my back pain was greatly lessened, and my knees were better. After the first week of treatments, my ankle pains, knee pains, and shoulder pains were gone. After a couple of weeks' work, the numbness in my hands and feet began to abate. There are two very unique things that they do for me at Cedar Park Chiropractic and Acupuncture (cedarparkchiro.com), which no one has done for me anywhere else that I have ever been. First of all, one of the great assistants, Jessica or Karah, positions me on the Intersegmental Traction Table, which opens up the joint spaces in my spine and relaxes my muscles. Apparently, the traction table makes my spinal adjustments more effective but all I know is that it feels really good. Secondly, rather than have me lie down on my stomach so he can adjust my neck, Dr. Swanson adjusts my neck from a seated position, which no other chiropractor has done for me before, but it seems to be much more effective. He then has me lie on my stomach on either his stationary or his drop table, whichever he deems best, and adjusts the rest of my back, hips, and legs. Unfortunately, I have some permanent damage that was done to my body as a result of being hit by the 18-wheeler but, to my amazement and delight, Dr. Swanson has done a masterful job of being able to fix everything that was fixable and to restore everything that was restorable. When I first started with Dr. Swanson, I had unbearable pain, as I said, in my neck, shoulders, back, knees, and ankles and relied on ibuprofen and other pain-relieving drugs but now I don't need to take anything for pain... it is all gone. My overall experience with Dr. Swanson has proven to be a very important part of my healing journey. My old neck had gotten worse after years of ups and downs after trying yoga, traction, acupuncture and massage. And PT, and ergonomics, and those memory foam pillows--since it'd get worse while I slept. I'm no fan of chiropractic (why they'd leave off that last "e"?) but I gambled that this clinic, highly touted, would help me. He X-rayed me, pointed out my neck tilted nine degrees and that he would need to see me thrice a week. He did help me, and my jaw, which had also been in pain, until session number seven upon which the pain returned. He tried different techniques popping bones in various ways but what he did did not help and at times just made things worse. True, he runs his office well; waiting times were never long. True, the office staff is swell especially the sweet Jovaughn, But after a dozen visits at 45 bucks a crack I said goodbye to the chiro and I'm never going back. read more

Dr. Swanson upon review showed my wife and me that I had a sixth vertebrae that had not fused properly. I was relieved that the involuntary twitches on my right side were not the result of my radiation treatments. I was recently contacted by Dr. Swanson's office about reconsidering my review of the doctor and his practice. I decided to go back and look over my documents and consider his side of the situation. While I found that my paperwork still seems to support my initial review, Dr. Swanson brought up some good points in his defense. I have come to a stalemate; it seems this is a case of he said/ he said. The doctor says one thing and the insurance adjuster said another. I can't really prove who is "wrong" in this situation and because of this, I have decided to give the doctor another star (based on his excellent treatment). I wish I could go back in time and sit down with everyone personally to get a better understanding of what happened. The adjuster said doctors always overprice their actual costs of treatment when insurance claims are mentioned and the doctor told me that insurance adjustor's are unaware of what those actual treatment costs may be. He said/he said; and because I do believe one is innocent until proven guilty, I can no longer say in clear conscience the doctor is totally at fault for hijacking my compensation. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't; maybe it was the insurance adjustor's fault. I guess we'll never know. =\ C'est la vie. read more

I am thrilled to have found Dr. Swanson! I was having some serious leg referral pain down both legs that was hindering my daily activities and sleep. I've also struggled with some low back pain and headaches caused from grinding my teeth at night. My referral pain is almost completely gone after 1 and a half months! He may be one of the best chiropractors in the world, but I will never know because I just made it to the reception. Even that the ladies in reception are very friendly, since I arrived it was all about how I was going to pay for this as my health insurance wont cover because it was product of a car accident. I was not at fault, and I already talked to the other driver's insurance and they will cover for the expenses once the treatment is finished. I can pay with my credit card and get reimbursed and that was one of the option I gave to to the ladies. But it appears that this was not a very acceptable form of payment because it could be " thousands of dollars" the treatment, and they assumed I cannot afford it (I'm debating to think they assumed that because I'm Hispanic? or does it happen to all patients?) If I give you this as an option for my payment, please accept it! But they really wanted me to call my car insurance company to open a personal injury claim so I can afford the visit to Dr. Swanson. They did mention that I should call the insurance when I made the appointment, but I totally forgot. All the conversation about how I was going to cover for the expenses was done out loud in front of other patients. This also display lack of professionalism and privacy of my case. After I left the office in tears, I got a phone call from Jovaughn to apologize for the incident. This still doesn't cure my problem, this still doesn't change the fact that I felt discriminated. It appears that one can work hard enough to be protected with my own money, health insurance, car insurance, and it still doesn't look like it is good enough. I was there because I needed to see a doctor, my neck still hurt and this stress doesn't help. But this visit was totally ruined because everything I was asked it was about the payments, and they didn't even asked how I was feeling. So, if you go to this office, my recommendation to be able to see the doctor is that you have everything in hand to reassure them that you are able to pay. After my very traumatic car accident. Today was my very 1st chiropractic adjustment with Dr.Swanson. I was nervous to say the least. His amazing & friendly staff were more than helpful with their stories that warmly comforted me. The staff is nice and friendly, but Dr. Swanson runs a chop shop clinic. He pretty much cracks your bones and bills your insurance. No personality or feedback is given or offered. Minor pains are treated as you say, but no advice is provided on how to manage your pain and treatments is shared or offered. If you decide to visit this clinic then I advise you to push Dr. Swanson for information about your issue, what he thinks is causing it and how he plans to make you better. If just adjustments is his solution, then go elsewhere. As there are better treatment programs. read more

This place is wonderful. I love the office staff and atmosphere. Katie and Jovaughn at the front are both really positive and a pleasure to interact with. Dr. Swanson is really calm and low key. I had never had chiropractic care before I went to see him. I just went to his office because I saw his sign on my way to work everyday and every time I thought "My back hurts, I should go see if he can help me." When I finally made my appointment and saw my x-rays, it registered with me how serious my back problem was. After a nasty fall on my kitchen floor two years ago, my spine actually curved off to the left. Since those x-rays Dr. Swanson has been adjusting my back and neck twice a week. I feel a million times better after I get plenty of sleep and have an adjustment done. My course of treatment will be 25 visits. I've been 14 times and I am so much better. I'm not popping ibuprofen every single night and lying awake with pain in my back like I used to do. The other thing I like about the doc is that he has a sense of humor. Once he adjusted my neck and there was a really loud pop. He said, "That'll wake you up in the morning." I giggled for quite a while after that. He's nice and he listens. This practice is truly amazing. I was in a car wreck in November of last year. I was smashed into from the back while I was hunched forward from slamming on the brakes to avoid the car in front of me. Needless to say, my back wasn't in great shape after that. The worst thing about it was I had NEVER had back problems before so I was nervous that chiropractic care wasn't going to be enough. I was also terrified of having timely, costly and chronic back issues. I work at a residential drug and alcohol facility. We see so many clients come in, addicted to pain killers BECAUSE of back pain. I wanted to avoid that at all costs. Dr. Swanson is amazing. He is extremely patient, easygoing and a kind man. He suggested some different legal routes that I could take if I wanted to. I was grateful for his advice because I had never dealt with this type of thing before. Dr. Swanson's adjustments are quick, easy and pain free. He listened to all my concerns and was very thorough with his examination. I requested X-rays and he ordered them, no questions asked. Since November, my back pain has slowly dissipated. I couldn't ride on long car trips when we started my treatment and now I can ride in the car with no lower back pain! The two ladies who run his practice make up for a lot of my score. I adore them! They are always SO willing to help work around my crazy schedule. Since November, I have called every week needing to change or rarely cancel an appointment. I have never EVER heard a rude or snide comment from them after I have had to cancel an appointment nor when I call to switch appointment times. Another rare thing is they know ALL of their client's names. It also seems like they know what's going on in each client's life. I just moved to Austin and my back went out, before I found a local physician. I have degenerative disc disease and have been loosing one about every three years. Ten years of a pain, and my previous doctor would prescribe muscle relaxers and recommend ice while staying underweight. With debilitating episodes increasing, I asked about Chiropractic care, but he was against it. He told me I needed surgery, but because of the risks, I should put it off as long as possible. When my new physician recommended I see Dr. Swanson, I was surprised, because of what my previous doctor had told me. My pain scale was at a 10, and I my blood pressure was off the charts when I showed up at his clinic. The staff immediately got me in a room and began therapy. I was terrified to have anyone touch my back, but everything Dr. Swanson did relieved pain and pressure and within days, I was almost normal. His treatment recommendations are logical and easy to follow. Surgery has now become an option, rather than a necessity and each day I show such a marked improvement, that it is astounding my family and friends. Numerous other conditions, that are a direct result from my back, are dropping to the wayside every few days, I have surges of adrenaline from being pain-free, my back is not occupying my every waking thought and I am sleeping with out drugs, for the first time in 10 years. I was sitting at my desk with severe neck and headache pain due to getting hit in the head by a spinning ceiling fan and subsequently falling on the floor from a standing position on my bed! It was rather funny but oh the pain was not. I called Dr. Swanson's office and they said to come on in right away. Dr. Swanson took xrays to make sure there wasn't serious damage (none - yeah) but boy was my neck out of alignment. He adjusted it for me along with the thoracic spine and my pain was reduced by 80% with the first adjustment and lasted for 5 hours. When the pain returned it was still 50% less than prior to the adjusting. I have been going in twice a week for two weeks and can report that I am 80% better already. I just completed a new patient exam, and an very impressed. I've visited and worked with several chiropractors in my time, and really liked the techniques employed by Dr. Swanson during my adjustment. The office staff were courteous and professional, and the office was clean and pleasant. They base treatment on xrays, which in my opinion, is the only way to have a good outcome, I find the adjustment factory standard one size fits all approach to yield little result. What can I say about Dr. Swanson? He has helped me tremendously with an old L2-L3 injury. I began to feel relief after the first adjustment. I love that he uses a variety of treatment modalities, such as muscle work, acupuncture, and stretching in addition to adjustments. I have also experienced some improvement in my migraines from the neck adjustments, which is a big plus. My 13 year old daughter was experiencing terrible headaches due to a trigger point between her shoulder blades. Within 5 minutes of the first adjustment she said the headache was gone. After the second adjustment she hasn't experienced anymore issues with the trigger point. Usually this issue takes several weeks of ice, Ibuprofen and pressure to completely subside My husband, who is a Family Practioner, referred me to Dr. Swanson.
