I didn't do any running again until 2017 when I started running less than 2 miles at a time, and realized I could do that without my knees hurting. Occasionally I would run 3 to 4 miles at a time, and feel my knees burn again. Fast forward to the pandemic and a screeching halt to in person group workouts, and any running I did reduced to a mile or less at a time. By August of 2021 I started walk / jogging again, it was going well, and by October I wanted to add more miles without getting knee pain again. A friend of mine recommended that I go to RunLab to figure out what I could do better to be able to run without hurting myself. This was one of the best recommendations I have ever received. For the past two months I have been working with Dr. Biershenk at RunLab. In that time I've been able to double my weekly running mileage without any injuries or lasting pain. Along the way to learning to move injury free, I have awakened other issues, and Dr. Biershenk has helped me to correct the new issues as they've arisen. I've been very happy with my results so far, and I plan to continue to book sessions at RunLab to improve my running. In the mundane details: scheduling and billing have always been hassle free and accurate. My appointments have always been on-time and to schedule. The staff at RunLab is attentive to their clients and are dedicated to helping them improve their movement. I would highly recommend RunLab, it's the best thing I've done for myself in a long time.

This sums up my experience:…read more 1) I enjoy the service of the surgeons - HOWEVER - 2) Once I was checking in on the company's iPad/app where it's a multi-step process and you don't know you're finished until it says your'e done. At one point it started presenting advertisements and not just one but many. Who wants that when you're in pain. 3) Afterwards, I kept getting calls that I owed money but with the number of scams out there I called the Company Texas Orthopedics and they said that I was all paid up. Eventually I figured it out. They have many entities and each one bills you separately. It's like if you went to Lowes and you started scanning items and they said well for tools you gotta to to a separate check out line, and for nuts and bolts yet another, etc. It's just NUTS . No I mean it's just crazy. 4) I complained about it and a supervisor was nice enough to call back and then started explaining that they lay out their procedures to customers, etc etc blah blah. Like Lady let me get this straight I was in pain, came to your company and you explained your dumb policies and modus operandi and now your'e chastising me for not remembering. Again what if the manager of Lowes came up and "explained" their policies of having a different check out line for each kind of product. Luckily Lowes and all OTHER companies don't do that in reality because it's just NUTS. I believe in dollar votes and I choose to spend mine elsewhere from now on and I encourage you to also unless you want a head ache along with your shoulder pain!!!!!

Communication throughout my visit was perfect. Dr. Hardy evaluated my issue and prescribed a routine to get me back to 100%. My only nit is that since this is a new location, your Nav App will take you in circles. If you are coming from CP or Leander, just take the old 183 Hwy to the 183A intersection, take a right onto the access road, and TX Ortho is on the right.

My leg from the knee down to my foot is still swollen and I am in pain and cannot walk far. My follow up appointment was scheduled for 1/13 but I called the office because 2 weeks before because I was in a lot of pain and the swelling was getting worse. I saw another surgeon and he tried to drain it but wasn't successful and told me to wait to see Dr Borick. Dr Borick said the surgery didn't work because I had bad arthritis in my knee that he knew was already there and that I need a knee replacement! After seeing my primary doctor and explaining the situation and her seeing the condition of my knee she said she wanted me to see someone else. I've been seeing Dr Rodriguez at Texas Orthopedics and the care there is far better! Dr Brick's bed side manner is non existent and he has a condescending way of talking to you. I told him that I am worse off before the surgery and I can't work and didn't even care. He explained the surgery may not work but didn't say I could possibly end up in worse condition. I sent an email to the administrators at OACT explaining my issues with Dr Borick and haven't heard from them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from OACT. Texas Orthopedics is a much better group of doctors.

I honestly don't know how this surgeon and office receives such high stars. I've gone to this…read moredoctor twice now. One in 2021 and one just a few weeks ago. Both times I was overcharged dramatically for awful care. This last time I brought them an MRI for my knee which had excruciating pain. Scott Smith looked at the report only, never took x-rays, and never reviewed the actual MRI. He immediately went to full knee replacement as my only option. They gave me a Cortisone shot in my knee and charged me over $600 as a cash pay. Even though I was a former patient that back in 2021, when I was ripped off the first time and had to go to a different surgeon for surgery. They hit me with a new patient fee because it was just over three years since I've been there again. Then charged me an additional $50 for God knows what after the fact several weeks later, on a bill I just received. I went to another Surgeon who came highly recommended and paid $125 for the office visit as a cash pay and another $125 for the x-rays which showed that I had the knee of a 30 year-old man but needed to clean up around the knee to take care of some tears and get rid of some impinging cartilage. The surgeon actually remarked that Scott Smith should've known better and should have reviewed the MRI and take x-rays as a standard practice. It seems Scott Smith and his staff are truly only interested in the money and not your health. I called their office three different times to try to get the new patient fee reduced which they refused and I also asked them to withdraw the new $50 charge as I paid everything in house the day I was there. They refused. They will be sending me to collections for the $50 as a final slap in the face. There are too many good doctors around town to just go with whoever your PCP recommends because they're part of a specific group. Be very careful as this guy would've scammed me for tens of thousands of dollars on a knee replacement when all it would've taken was a couple thousand dollars to clean up my knee. Again, there are way too many choices for good knee doctors. Buyer beware!!

I called Texas Orthopedics and was referred to Dr. Smith. They took x-rays and he diagnosed me with arthritis. Told me it was just old age and I would just have to suck it up and live with it. A YEAR later, still in tremendous pain, I finally went to another doctor who did an MRI and confirmed I had a torn meniscus in my right knee. Dr. Smith is dismissive and does not care about the patient at all. I wish I would've read all these reviews before I even wasted my time making the appointment with him. My bad for waiting so long to get a second opinion.

She put me and my doctor through a whole mess of stuff because the referral "didn't look right" to her. My doctor waited on hold (on my phone) repeatedly, and then even handing me back the phone and whining "I don't wanna talk to her," referring to the doctor, while she ran around the office finding people to ask and getting different opinions. Finally, she said she was going back to speak the manager. Then she came forward and said "We'll take the refferal." I left after rescheduling the appointment. Today, she called and told me that they won't take the referral. I said, "Yesterday, you said you spoke to the manager and then came back and said 'we'll take the referral.'" She then said she never said that. Umm, yeah ya did. She said "I said 'Maybe' we'll take the referral.'" That is a bald-faced lie. Then she added that she never spoke to her manager. Which means she lied yesterday as well. Once a person who represents a professional office lies to me, I no longer trust. Had she called and said "I'm sorry, I was mistaken about the referral. It turns out...." It would have been a whole different story. Spoke with insurance. They said the referral is fine. Several doctors in THEIR office have taken the same referral. Now I'm on the phone with the insurance and their office and they're telling us something TOTALLY different than what TINA told us. This place makes no sense at all!
