I have been a patient of Dr. Justin Chavez' for over 3 years. I have disk degeneration, sciatic…read morepain, neck and shoulder pain. He is the best! He has done several epidural injections in my lower back as well as some steroid type injections in my shoulders that work like a charm! I've never had to be sedated for these procedures, he's really good with the needle -- I've got a fairly decent pain threshold and I can say they hurt a tidbit at the start, but then they're okay and I feel SO much better. He's very personable as is his assistant, Drew. You will not be disappointed if you give them a try!

I can't see him treating someone like that unless there was a very specific reason, like you are constantly picking up narcotics, shopping around for Doctors, getting early refills or something that would make you stand out as an addict. He is literally one of the most nonjudgmental Doctors I have seen and he takes his time during appointments and listens to his patients to make sure that they are just as on board and happy with the treatment that he suggests, if you are not he talks with you and asks your opinions and feelings and changes treatment accordingly. And his office staff are friendly and courteous. I am finally able to do things with my family like camping and vacations. I've also been able to start working again which I haven't been able to do for about 5 years now.

When meeting with Dr. Brotzman, he let us know what he planned on doing however he also informed her that once he gets in, he may have to do a full replacement. He went over the pros and cons of both procedures. My sister was scared, scared about the surgery, the healing process, what the scar would look like, how well she would recover. Lots and lots of concerns however Dr. Brotzman once again went over the process and gave some reassurance. On the day of the surgery, she surprised herself that she was up and walking. He stressed the importance of her taking it easy at first, doing the exercises at home and then following up with PT. As her caretaker I was concerned about her doing too much too quickly, however she healed very well. She did great at PT and her exact words were "I wish I had done this a lot sooner. Had I known it wasn't going to be as bad as I made it out to be, I wouldn't have waited as long as I did". Her scar is minimal and she's extremely happy with Dr. Brotzman and his team.

Later i did have surgery for apparent large old cyst. I was hopeful that he could aspirate to…read moredecrease size, but he felt it would need to be operated on. The day of surgery at private surgery center he uses went well with nice professional staff. Surgery went smoothly and on-time. Apparently it was a rare form of tumor (benign), so it was good that he had me in the OR under anesthesia and he was able to remove and make repairs and stitch me up cleanly.

It's always hard for me to write a "not great" review, but I do feel obligated to warn people that…read morethis is not the place to go for acupuncture. From the moment I walked into the waiting room, it was clear this is a churn-and-burn type of practice. Tons of people, everyone in and out within 10-20 minutes. I came in specifically requesting electroacupuncture. I told Dr. Jeff this directly, and both he and another staff member nodded and said "great," as if everything was aligned. It was not. I was taken into the "acupuncture" room and asked to lie face down on an extremely uncomfortable chair that was clearly meant for chiropractic adjustments- not acupuncture. I explained my tendinitis. He nodded, placed four basic needles in my arm, and said someone would come back to remove them. About 10 minutes later, a woman came in and took them out. There was no electroacupuncture involved at any point. No leads, no stimulation, nothing remotely resembling what I explicitly asked for. Then came checkout where I was shocked to be told I owed $175. I was informed there was a $100 "new patient" fee and $75 for the treatment. This felt completely unjustified. I was there for maybe 25 minutes total. In any legitimate acupuncture clinic, you're lying comfortably in a calm room for at least 45-60 minutes. There was no new patient exam this felt so scammy. I unfortunately booked a second appointment, mostly because I was exhausted from work and didn't want to search for another nearby provider, and didn't want to pay yet another $100 new patient fee elsewhere. That was a mistake. The second visit was also in and out within about 20 minutes. This place is an absolute rip-off for acupuncture. I do want to say that everyone who works here is very nice. That's not the issue. The issue is that what they offer is not real acupuncture as most people understand it, and it's wildly overpriced for what you actually receive. They should honestly remove acupuncture from their business name. I would like a refund.

I work at least 60 hours a week and am a full time single dad to four amazing kids. I say this,…read morebecause I just have very little time in my life for anything else. This might be, the second review I've ever written in my life. I'm taking a moment to write this because it's just so important to me to acknowledge Doctor's visits (repeated), superior to anything else I've ever experienced, in a lifetime of broken bones and serious sports injuries. As a former professional rugby player it's easier to list the bones I have not broken that the ones I have. I've been a patient of Dr. Malone since braking my back in 2003. He had just started his practice and had just hired his first P.A. I say this because in the 20 years I've been loyally supporting Advanced Pain Care, I've seen more than 50 providers. Mostly caring, knowledgeable medical professionals. Some stand out more than others (Dr. Ye and Marissa to name a few), some names I've forgotten and one terrible experience (Waco), but the odd outliner is prevalent in even the worlds best organizations. People are people and a bad apple can slip through the cracks. What motivates me to write this review today is the exceptional, emphatic and encouraging experience, I continue to get, visit after visit from my current provider at Advanced Pain Care, JENNIFER NUESSNER. Jennifer, is a the type of special person that even someone with the dullest level of emotional intelligence can and will connect with. After each visit you leave feeling that the person you just saw, sincerely cares about you as a person and evokes an atmosphere of collaboration and a hope for a life free of the overwhelming gloom of pain and suffering. Six months ago, we moved to Dallas for a job. But, to see her and get my fix of encouragement, strategy forward and the opportunity to talk for a moment about whatever my medical challenges are.......is so absolutely worth me spending my day off driving 7 hours (or more....darn IH35). Jennifer Nuessner, thank you for being amazing. Thank you Mark (Malone) for for all those years, where you were my "Jennifer", made a difference and gave me hope. Sincerely, Rod Watson.

I was a patient of Dr. Samuel Pegram and Martha Menefee (Nicki), CNP, from March 2026 through…read moreSeptember 2026. Over that time, I repeatedly reported worsening symptoms and provided documented lab trends showing significant disease progression. My concerns were consistently minimized, and I was told my condition was "mildly elevated" and later "minimal," despite lab values that continued to worsen severely over several months. During a recent hospitalization for a severe flare, Dr. Pegram never contacted me, checked in, or provided any meaningful input to the hospital team managing my care, despite being reached out to directly. Every other physician involved in my care during that admission communicated with me personally. When I raised these concerns directly and advocated for a higher standard of communication and care, I was met with defensiveness rather than accountability. Rather than addressing the pattern, the practice's administration chose to part ways with me as a patient. I want to be clear that this review is not about disagreeing with a single clinical decision. It is about a consistent pattern of dismissiveness, poor communication, and a lack of accountability, both from the treating providers and from the administrative team, who had multiple opportunities to address this and did not.
