I work at least 60 hours a week and am a full time single dad to four amazing kids. I say this, because I just have very little time in my life for anything else. This might be, the second review I've ever written in my life. I'm taking a moment to write this because it's just so important to me to acknowledge Doctor's visits (repeated), superior to anything else I've ever experienced, in a lifetime of broken bones and serious sports injuries. As a former professional rugby player it's easier to list the bones I have not broken that the ones I have. I've been a patient of Dr. Malone since braking my back in 2003. He had just started his practice and had just hired his first P.A. I say this because in the 20 years I've been loyally supporting Advanced Pain Care, I've seen more than 50 providers. Mostly caring, knowledgeable medical professionals. Some stand out more than others (Dr. Ye and Marissa to name a few), some names I've forgotten and one terrible experience (Waco), but the odd outliner is prevalent in even the worlds best organizations. People are people and a bad apple can slip through the cracks. What motivates me to write this review today is the exceptional, emphatic and encouraging experience, I continue to get, visit after visit from my current provider at Advanced Pain Care, JENNIFER NUESSNER. Jennifer, is a the type of special person that even someone with the dullest level of emotional intelligence can and will connect with. After each visit you leave feeling that the person you just saw, sincerely cares about you as a person and evokes an atmosphere of collaboration and a hope for a life free of the overwhelming gloom of pain and suffering. Six months ago, we moved to Dallas for a job. But, to see her and get my fix of encouragement, strategy forward and the opportunity to talk for a moment about whatever my medical challenges are.......is so absolutely worth me spending my day off driving 7 hours (or more....darn IH35). I was a patient of Dr. Samuel Pegram and Martha Menefee (Nicki), CNP, from March 2026 through September 2026. Over that time, I repeatedly reported worsening symptoms and provided documented lab trends showing significant disease progression. My concerns were consistently minimized, and I was told my condition was "mildly elevated" and later "minimal," despite lab values that continued to worsen severely over several months. During a recent hospitalization for a severe flare, Dr. Pegram never contacted me, checked in, or provided any meaningful input to the hospital team managing my care, despite being reached out to directly. Every other physician involved in my care during that admission communicated with me personally. When I raised these concerns directly and advocated for a higher standard of communication and care, I was met with defensiveness rather than accountability. Rather than addressing the pattern, the practice's administration chose to part ways with me as a patient. I want to be clear that this review is not about disagreeing with a single clinical decision. It is about a consistent pattern of dismissiveness, poor communication, and a lack of accountability, both from the treating providers and from the administrative team, who had multiple opportunities to address this and did not. read more

This place is AWFUL! I went for one visit, my experience was not great, and since then- I've received 4 separate bills for services. When I called their office to inquire about all of the claims against my insurance, the litany of "services" their office manager rattled off were absurd. One service they billed me for: a mental health screening. Really? I went there to have my knee evaluated. I spoke to the doctor- rather, he talked at me for less than 10 minutes-and since then have received bill after bill. Do not go here! You will be nickel and dimed to death! read more

At this point, I've had to escalate my concerns through state and federal complaint channels. I received excellent lupus care at the Georgetown office for years - Jordan is an outstanding provider, and the staff there has always treated me with care and dignity. Unfortunately this does not extend to the Round Rock location, where the rheumatology department has been transferred. Two visits to this office have jeopardized my entire treatment plan. First, they gave me another patient's private paperwork. Then, at my most recent appointment, I was only told after my vitals were taken that the visit would be conducted via telehealth. I had been told I'd be seeing a different PA since Jordan is out, but the provider I was scheduled with -- Jennifer Priestley -- I learned in the after care notes is actually an NP. Jennifer ignored the new symptoms I reported, and after I clearly requested FMLA documentation, she offered to go over the prior month's lab results and said that if I wanted to pursue FMLA, a PT would need to be involved (which isn't strictly true). When I became tearful at this, Jennifer asked if I was "seeing a therapist." I immediately walked out of the appointment because I didn't feel safe with her as a provider. After I left the appointment, Jennifer submitted a behavioral health referral. The medical notes I'm able to download inaccurately state that I consented to telehealth, that I "understood and agreed" to a treatment plan that doesn't exist, and that I consented to a therapy referral that was never discussed. They also claim the appointment lasted more than twice as long as it did, while omitting my new symptoms and my FMLA request. These inaccuracies were signed off by Dr. Pegram, making them part of my permanent medical record. My messages asking for clarification are being ignored and I'm now being treated as hostile simply for trying to protect my care. I'm being shut out of a medical practice I trusted, and I'm losing access to treatment for a life-altering disease - because I asked for help while my regular provider was out. Conversations with APC leadership are just as concerning. In discussing this issue with Jody Green, she said that I shouldn't have been scheduled with Jennifer because she doesn't have the same experience Jordan and Nicki have as PAs. The very next day, Jody told me that Nicki is a nurse. When it comes to my medical records, Jody said she sees my FMLA request on their end as well as some additional notes about my symptoms that are not true. When I asked for a copy of my full medical records, including this additional information, Jody said she would need to speak to APC's attorney before she would know if she could. I have yet to hear back from that conversation, as well as from the email I sent to her directly requesting my full medical records in writing, or from the other two emails I sent to the inbox address listed by her photo on the website. I also have 5 portal messages that are all unanswered (despite everyone I speak to saying they can see them). The negative reviews being dismissed on Google are an extension of the poor treatment patients receive at this location. Asking for a phone number publicly is not a real response - patients can't reply to these comments, and no one should be expected to post personal contact information online. It would take very little effort for APC staff to look up patients and reach out directly, or simply respond to portal messages. Patients with complex health conditions deserve safety, medical accuracy, and dignity. Instead, I've been left misrepresented in my records, denied proper care, and placed in a situation where my lupus treatment has ended. This has been one of the most distressing healthcare experiences of my life, and I urge other patients with chronic illnesses to avoid APC. read more

I CANNOT recommend Dr Bradley Wisler! REASONS: 1. first visit was a social visit! Went there in pain, left there in pain. Doctor's parting words; "if you need me I'll be here next week" (paraphrased) ZERO ACCOMPLISHED! 2. Went back following week and asked for pain relief medication, Dr. Wisler refused Rx for what I know works, instead gave me a horrible drug 'Buprenorphine'. That horrible drug caused me to have two (2) severe reactions, swelled ankles and woke up from a nap shaking with fear! This drug is given to help addicts. APC makes that stuff in their private pharmacy, it was delivered by courier right away (for a small fee). There is a cheaper version that he did not prescribe, they made it like a gelatin candy that you cut in pieces and ingest. ** So, I called the office, complained to assistant, she said "oh yes the doctor knows about those side effects" - come back in so Doctor can give you a different Rx. WHAT THE? The doctor knew of those possible side effects? YIKES!! I was 78 years old at that time!! ** I asked why different Rx couldn't be called in to pharmacy?? 'Need to come back in, be seen by doctor and pay co-pay again'.... Other medical professionals told me - that's nonsense, could send in Rx without seeing you again. Dr. Wisler and I both Military Veterans, thought we had an understanding but seems I was WRONG! Dr. Wisler is a company man. BTW, I was a patient at advanced pain care several years ago and experience at that time was very good! now they've grown with multiple offices, fancy offices, and seems the patient (me) is just another ATM machine, SO VERY SAD! read more

I had a great dr there and his PA was great. I had heard he left because they wanted push Spinal cord srimulators on chronic pain patients. So when he left the new dr wanted to put one in my hip and neck. And he talked to me for 2 minutes.I decided to leave as well THEY ALSO FALSE ADVERTISE THAT THE PAIN STOPS HERE.Thats BS for any dr or clinic to state. Do i smell lawsuit.I know the owner must be high on his horse or just needing a new Ferrai. I wouldnt trust them. During zcovid i went thrre for a procedure. It was the only medical procedure or dr I had seen during Covid. I was in their surgical center, a month later i found out I had Hep C. Never had it before. Never used drugs or IV drugs. I first went to APC when we had just gotten word about Covid 19, so that's over 3 years ago. They are ALL friendly, welcoming, and they try to be accommodating, as well. I don't understand how they are always able to find these (and more) positive qualities in every single person I've dealt with. I have been going to APC in Cedar Park for about 5 years now. The reason: Jennifer Nuessner, APN and Dr. Ye. Now, both are gone. I am so sad. Although I don't know the reason that Dr. Ye was let go, I have my suspicions. And Jennifer, who was always there to help me and use the least invasive and the most safe treatments, left because (I am also using an educated guess), that she did not PUSH costly, invasive treatments on her patients if it was not indicated. Some patients can't afford those extremely expensive implantable stims. And some people do not NEED those costly procedures. I am assuming her ethics did not correspond or align with APCs'. I would encourage Dr. Mark Malone to take a look at what's going on at this clinic. I will, sadly, be looking for a new provider of pain management. read more

I didn't have any problems at this practice until the NP I was seeing suddenly left the practice. I was then assigned to a new nurse practitioner who claimed she wasn't "very familiar" with the condition she was treating me for - yikes. Now she's refusing to complete disability paperwork for me despite the old NP guaranteeing me that it wouldn't be a problem. Avoid "Bette Paulson" at all costs if you are being treated for any kind of disabling condition - she straight up admitted to not being familiar with treating something fairly common like Migraines so I doubt she's competent at anything else complex. read more

This is a hard review to write. I had 5 different providers at my time there (only 1 is left at the office). Dr. Wisler is great at first, which makes his cruel treatment of me almost worse than medical staff who treat chronic pain patients horribly from the start. I am an extremely complicated patient-most doctors don't want to treat me (some refuse me as a patient altogether). At our last appt, I told Dr. Wisler I was about to have a radical hysterectomy at 45 after 4 failed survives in 2 years. He had brought in a NP trainee and said to her , "I'll show you how we do it here" and then dismissed my pain as anxiety, refused me pain medicine and dismissed me as a patient. He also didn't allow me to speak. I found a new pain doctor who immediately referred me to a Neurologist after my hysterectomy. I have since been diagnosed with Lupus, Small Fiber Neuropathy and dysautonomia. It's not anxiety at all. read more

My husband has been coming here for just over a year and the level of care he has received is far better than any other pain management doctor we've been too over the last couple years. Well were do I start, been many years of knee pain even had one knee replaced. The other one has been giving me grief afterwards so I was on 4 hydro's a day for years I mean over 15 years. Starting physical therapy and starting getting better and moving better, so I starting taking less. As I did the therapy I also starting losing weight, after 20-30 lbs. lost I was down to 2 a day on my pain pills, than I lost another 25 lbs and I have been down to one pill at night as needed. Well for quite a while I have been wanting to stop that last pill, A couple of weeks ago went on about a 10 day vacation and forgot my pain pills home which made me just try and get through the night. It worked I am now off pain pills, pain is not as bad as it once was. These people have stood by me and helped in many ways, from injections to stronger pills back to Hydro's. What surprised me the most is the scheduling for spinal treatment. You do not receive well printed instructions before an upcoming procedure. This office expects you to remember everything you were told in the office weeks before your appointment for treatment. What's wrong with a checklist that covers medicine that you take and when to stop taking your medicine before your procedure, also, what and when to stop eating or drinking before your procedure. A printed-out checklist would be the least cost-effective way to help the patient. The doctors and office personnel are friendly and act like they want to help you. That's not a problem, Happy to state, it's a procedure problem. read more

Just an addition to my previous reviews. This place just keeps getting better. I have been a patient of Dr. Higginbotham for many years. He has placed 2 spinal cord stimulators for me. They have been effective in helping with my neck and lumbar issues. I really don't know that there is a kinder,funny, compassionate physician on the planet. I am impressed with the reps for the spinal cord stimulators. I have 2 different companies that issued my little "helpers" and they are quick to respond if there is a problem. Sherrita has been my Nurse Practitioner for years also. She makes my day brighter and I trust her with all of my issues. I would have her as my Provider for all of my healthcare needs if I could. Daniel is fairly new to to me. I met him once and the next visit he recognized me in the room full of other patients. He has a great sense of humor and is just NICE! Anyway, I thought it was time for an update. I will be with this practice forever! ( I do need to add that I have found an Orthopedic Surgeon, Todd Walker MD that is a very close second to Dr. Higginbotham! He is a miracle worker!) read more

Dr. Ye: Extremely inexperienced technician (injured me & they did nothing about it), focused on money making appointments and not the well being of the patient. Made me go into withdrawal by not getting my medication filled timely (1 week without) which is basically malpractice due to my coronary issues. Falsely stated SEVERAL items in medical history. I will be looking to see if they double billed insurance as they have balance billed me claiming I owe when my coverage is 100 percent. I used to be a health insurance agent so I know the difference. So many disappointments. Bottom line, if you have multiple injuries they do not know how to deal with them. And if you want a caring doctor that will actually listen to you, go somewhere else. They are Focused solely on getting procedures done to make money. I Was never even sent to a physical therapist. I had to ask 4 times for a referral. Imo, they do not want you to recover. I went in for an appointment with Dr.Ye and was seen by a nurse practitioner named Bette. She was rude and nasty the whole appointment she sat there and told me I was fat and needed to loose weight and that's why I was hurting when I went in for a injury NOT my weight. I actually don't know how to rate this. What I do want to say is that I have been going to the Cedar Park location (they have an amazing staff for the most part) for probably a year now (I have a at the RR location prior). When I first came to the CP location I started seeing Jennifer Nuessner. For the first time in a very long time and through a battery of doctors I felt heard. Jennifer ALWAYS took time to listen to me. She had compassion and sympathy and together we found a way to work out a plan to manage my severe chronic pain. Then a few months ago I was able to meet with Dr. Ya who was the exact same. I was so excited to have this team as MY team. Last month when I came in Dr. Ya was gone and I was concerned but, then I got a call that my Jennifer had also left the practice. I don't know what is going on but I am devastated that MY team is gone. APC lost 2 of the most amazing and caring doctors I have ever had. I am sad they are gone. read more

I have been seeing Jennifer Nussener for nearly 7 years now as well as Dr Yi. After 39 years of chronic pain and 8 spinal surgeries later, I finally found someone in the medical profession (Jennifer Nussener) that was extremely empathetic and compassionate towards me and my struggles. I have driven 50 miles one way just to follow Jennifer. I now live part time in sante fe for treatment and literally flew all day for my visit with Jennifer..... only to find out she is no longer with APC. Feeling hopeless can be a daily grind for chronic pain sufferers. Jennifer never failed to lift my spirits and encouraged me to keep moving forward with my life. When I learned the news that Jennifer was no longer with APC, my heart sank for not only myself but for the entire staff and the APC culture. I could see Jennifer's positive influence on not just the patients but also the staff when things were stressful in the office. APC has grown exponentially in such a short time that it's been hard for them to keep the intimate patient care that gave them such a good reputation in the beginning. I can only hope that the leadership at APC takes a good look at what has made them so successful through the years - it's unique staff! Meds and procedures are only a small piece of the chronic pain puzzle whereas compassionate and caring doctors are the reason patients return to any clinic. No matter the industry or business, the greatest asset of any organization is the people. I am truly saddened that APC has lost one of its greatest and finest assets- Jennifer Nussener!! read more

Do NOT come here if you are actually suffering from chronic pain. They REFUSE to take my pain seriously and put me on cymbalta which made me suicidal. It took them THREE days to call me back after I left a voicemail every day. I told the doctor I was in so much pain I was drinking a bottle of wine every day and she didn't try to help me at all. This was the biggest waste of time and money I've ever been through in my life. I feel more helpless than when I first started coming here . The suicide rate and correlation to chronic pain is as high as it is because of doctors like these who work at Advanced Pain Care. read more

I have chronic migraines and tension headaches along with arthritis in my neck. I've been going to them for a while and they suggest a variety of solutions to ease the pain. I love this pain care clinic! The girls who work there are so nice as I walk in I was greeted by Lucy and asked how I was doing today with a nice big smile on her face. I was offered coffee with a big Keurig and all that goes with it. It was great! Then in about 3 minutes Tish or Liz called me back to get started on my back office procedures. After that, Dr. Sri Mandyam came in and we talked about how my meds were working and all that had been going on that month since my last office visit. He is very good at explaining the various treatment options that I have to reduce my pain. I'm a retired Paramedic so I know what should be done to reduce my entire back & neck pain. Sometimes I see Marissa and she is also very good at explaining the treatments that are available to me. This Cedar Park office is one of the best Pain Clinics that I have been to as the other one in Cedar Park I had so much trouble with that I didn't really know what to do until I was told about Advanced Pain Care and I chose the Cedar Park Location. I'm so glad I did! It is just terrific to know that they really care about my well being. I will be staying with them for a long time now! read more

I just had my insurance change and can't go here anymore. While I've been looking at other places to go I decided to see how reviews were to compare. I am honestly worried to find another place that I like as much. Marissa is always kind to me and, after seeing her every month, she knows about my life, my job, and is always easy to work with and happy to help. I'm only doing 4 stars because the visits are expensive depending on your insurance and they charge a lot for a drug test, but they don't do them every time. The only other thing I've noticed is the staff changes a lot or I just go at different times. I can't vouch for other locations but everyone here has always been good to me. read more

I couldn't disagree more with the currently listed reviews. Extremely poorly run, and rude at every level. After having been there a few times, they still cannot confirm whether my insurance is covered. Using the online app to make an appointment, that doesn't show up in their system. And Marissa, the rude and abrasive PA that seems to need to argue with patients more than help (overheard her arguing with another patient before spreading her joy to me). I can't imagine how I could get worse service elsewhere... read more

The young women that work there are great! However, if you need help with your pain quickly you won't get it here. In 4 visits my pain level only went from a 9 to a 8. They just keep you coming in over and over by giving you something they know is too mild to help. read more
