I showed up at 9:30am, the business was not open (today). The business said WALK IN WELCOME, but when they finally showed up at 9:50am, there was no one to take me as a walk-in, as a basic full set. They unwilling by to give me my money back (gift certificate) despite the fact I waited in them 30 minutes and they did not service me as a walk in. I didn't buy the certificate, because I would have never purchased anything from them based on previous reviews and pictures. Their service is horrible, look at the nails in the picture reviews. Perhaps I dodged a bullet! But someone is out $100, because this business is unprofessional and lacks quality nail techs. read more

Very firm, excellent pedicure. Did not pressure us to get extra services. This is a good choice to get your nails done when on vacation, as we were. A real neighborhood salon and they knew all their regulars by name. Just as good as we are used to back home and did a very good job on my old man feet! Got out all of the cuticle hiding around my toe nails, and it didn't hurt. My wife actually felt that this was one of the best pedicures that she has ever had. The salon itself looks just about like every other one out there. However, there are so many perks about this place. For starters, I have never had to wait to be helped. All of the techs seem eager to ensure that you receive service promptly. The chairs for the pedicures are nice and comfortable. They are also equipped with amazing massage features. This is my first time at this shop and I am very disappointed. My pedicure water was not hot or even warm for that matter. The lady doing my nails stopped to file/drill someone's nails while she was in the middle of my refill. She also stopped twice to wax brows. The technician did not ask the basic questions like: what shape do I want my nails or would I like them to be cutdown? The shape of my nails is not consistent on any of my nails. I've visited this salon about three times. On the first two visits, a male worked on my nails and he did a great job. If I only had him do my nails, I would keep going there. On my last visit, however, a female did my nails and she was rushed and a bit sloppy. Also, I watched them offer a customer who came in right after me a drink. They didn't offer me a drink. I had a pretty good experience here. I came with my aunt for a pedicure while she got her nails done like usual. Since she is a regular, she knew all the ladies and they were super friendly with her. I had to wait quite a bit even though we called ahead, so that kind of sucked but it gave me a lot of time to pick polish I guess. My nail tech was the guy. He was very quiet and a little rough when it comes to the actual trimming and clipping, but he gave an awesome foot massage so it weighed it out. It wasn't the worst pedi I've gotten or the best, but it was a positive atmosphere and the workers were friendly with customers which I liked to see. We were seen immediately when we arrived for our appointment and right away we were offered something to drink, including wine. For $35 dollars we opted for the deluxe pedi, which involved a scrub, clay mask, hot towels, etc... It was a full hour pedicure - they didn't skimp on the massage one bit, and it was extremely relaxing. The experience was complemented by the relaxing non-cheesy spa music (jazz, not elevator music "smooth jazz") and the massage chairs. When I lived in Toronto, I frequented a spa that was hospital clean. Tools were auto-claved and taken from their sterile packaging right in front of you. Footbaths were pipeless, and the place was white and always sparkling. Someone was always wandering around cleaning. Because of this, my standards for cleanliness are pretty high, and I can't say that I felt XO was the cleanest experience. The tools definitely didn't look like one time use, and they weren't wrapped, so I have no idea how well they were cleaned. That being said, I've been to a few places in Texas, and they were no cleaner, so I guess unless you're willing to pay fancy spa prices, that's not something as easy to come by here. I would definitely return to XO... the price was right, the staff was friendly and accommodating. They were quiet with us, because we were quiet, but with chattier customers, they were happy to talk--it's nice that they are able to gauge their customers. SHELLAC MANICURE - EPIC FAILURE Please tell me I went in on a bad day. I opted for this location BECAUSE of the positive Yelp reviews. I went in for a shellac manicure Friday afternoon. (I regularly go to US Spa off 183 - impeccable shellac manicures that last 3 weeks at least. However, I recently moved north to Cedar Park/Leander) There was no actual manicure. Sam (who is so friendly and genuine) was more worried about attending to the other potential customers than attending to my nails (and I would not label myself high maintenance in the slightest..). In fact, it was so horrendous I can guarantee that if the reviews here are honest, he was not paying attention. He did not trim the cuticles, cut, buff or file my nails.... The shellac color options are great though. However, the lack of attention in general continued and minimal paint was applied. For shellac, it's not about copious amounts of paint... But there needs to be enough applied to cover the nail!! Then the Yelp check-in, once activated, did not apply to manicures done on Fridays. Awesome to realize when it came time to pay. I ended up leaving him a $10 tip, not realizing how terrible my nails looked until I got to my car. So today is Sunday - the paint has started to bend and peel off the overgrown cuticle I had anticipated the manicure to take care of. Less than 48 hours after getting a manicure that should last 3 WEEKS, my manicure has started to chip off. Needless to say, For the first time ever I may go back and demand a refund. After all this however, I MIGHT go back and try their pedicure. I have learned that you cannot judge the quality of a pedicure by the quality of the manicure and vice versa. I may be too hopeful....Wish me luck! read more

I got a pedicure and what was an attempt at a manicure. Since my feet are a train wreck, and he did do a good job on the pedicure, I did give the guy a decent tip. But the overall experience was very stressful, and it should be relaxing. In fact, I just removed the polish and am going to fix the uneven nails and then repaint after I finish this review. There were challenges with communication, my massage chair did not work (and I got shrugged off when I told him), and when he did my manicure, instead of moving me from the pedi chair to a nail station, or him going from one side of my chair to another, he had me reach my hand across my body (uncomfortable). This, plus a number of other things made this unpleasant. Will not go back. read more

Alright, I've been to this salon about 10 times now... So I feel like I've gotten a good sense of what a "normal" experience is here. The first time I went to XO, Duke did my nails very well. After that I ended up either getting Nancy(the owner?)/her daughter. Not once did I leave happy or feeling like my nails were good-looking. I'm not sure if it's because they determined that I'm not a valued customer based on my age..or what. A lot of times salons that are located in communities that have primarily middle aged people and older don't give the same service to younger clients(just my experience). I'm a person that gets my nails done at least twice a month, and my toes done at least once. I'm always a respectful person, and I'm always understanding if a nail technician is just having an "off" day. That said, after the last experience I won't ever be back. In the middle of the tech applying my acrylic fill, she tells me to let them dry in front of the fan(they dry right away, I've been getting acrylics for years and not once have I had to do this). So I'm thinking, she needs to go to the bathroom, etc. Nope. She left me there for twenty minutes without even an explanation, just to do a pedicure on another girl. This was a walk in customer, they didn't have an appointment. She comes back, doesn't apologize, just grabs my arms and pulls towards her(not gently) and starts filing. I have a high pain tolerance, but damn did this woman cut me up. Four fingers had bleeding cuticles. Maybe it's because whatever was playing on the tv was very distracting for her? She continually looked up to watch while the file was on my nails. Again, no apology or acknowledgement. She left the gel so thick and uneven that my nails looked like I did them myself, left handed. She left gel and acrylic underneath and all over the sides. I wish I could say that it was just one experience, but it was every single time I went. Sigh, I really thought I found a good and convenient location. Oh well, I found a new salon. The new tech took one look at the job Nancy did and reassured me that I'd be taken care of from then on. Finally, I'm back to having good looking nails that last. I've never written a negative review, but this place truly deserves it. read more
