Made an appointment for acrylic fill, the nail tech that was supposed to do my fill was stuck in traffic (no biggie life happens) so another lady started prepping for a fill (filing down my nails). I think there was miscommunication between the lady that was prepping my nails and the other lady that had asked her to get my nails prepped, the lady prepping my nails started cutting off my nails (I think she though it was a take off) not too sure. They were very apologetic for their mistake and I was totally fine with a shorter set anyway so it worked out :) (they were getting too long anyway lol). They took off $5 to make up for it, which they didn't have to do but I appreciate their efforts and I can tell they very much value customer service! Will be coming back, loved the way they came out! Today I got my nails done here by TOM. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NAILS. For the first time ever in my life, they came out exactly the way I wanted! Not only were my nails perfect, but the service was impeccable. Tom has an extroverted personality which perfectly matched mine and he kept up very good conversation (unlike all the other silent and awkward experiences I usually have when I get my nails done). I have never been here before. And I am never going back. Tom did my nails. They look ok. Well they do not because U fixed then. They were supposed to be my thanksgiving nails but I had to reshape them myself because the shape was so bad. They looked rough. First off he was 10 minutes late, then he didn't even acknowledge me and just wanted me to show him my refrence photo. No "sorry for keeping you waiting". Nothing. He didn't talk the whole appointment to me until the end. He made creepy jokes about stabbing kids eyes out with my nails because I told him I am a nanny for a living and need short nails. I went to another nail salon this morning and asked for ombré nails with sparkles. Train wreck is a pretty fair description (see second picture). I headed over to Avalon to see if they could help. The salon was pretty busy since it was Saturday morning. When I mentioned I was heading out of town, Tom moved things around so he could squeeze me in. I have never left a salon crying before until I came here :/ one of the nail techs was in a super bad mood + he was talking to me like I was stupid and was questioning every decision I made concerning my nails. He seemed genuinely upset that I was even in the salon getting my nails done (he was slamming items on the counter, slamming drawers shut, mumbling angrily). I feel like he was purposefully trying to hurt me because he kept on jerking my hand around, bending my fingers back beyond what was comfortable, pinching my skin, and digging the cuticle stick into my skin way too hard. Every time I didn't do something he liked (for example, asking a question), he would groan and roll his eyes at me. I understand that people have bad days, but I feel like the extent at which it affected me was pretty bad. I was so upset at the way I was treated that I cried. I'm not a "Karen", I'm not someone who faults service worker because I understand it's hard. Some days suck, but at the end of the day, they have to do their job with an adequate amount of quality and this experience fell so unbelievably short. I usually love this place but today I got the worst manicure I've ever had. I gave the (very sweet and friendly) technician lots of instructions, I like them short but still longer than my normal nails, thicker white but NOT 1/2 white 1/2 clear, I SHOWED HER A PICTURE of a really good manicure I had recieved, and that that was exactly what I wanted. My thumbnail is crooked and ridiculously short, the white is too thick, and the lines are very messy. I of course still tipped for her service but am very very displeased with her work. read more

I love AVALON Nails in Cedar Park. The owner Kristy is so sweet and makes sure to keep you comfortable in a relaxing surrounding. Tom does my nails and his attention to detail is outstanding! His artistry is brilliant. I never pick out color's, I just let him do his thing and he never disappoints! I thoroughly read the yelp reviews before I went. I understood that Tom would be rude if I ended up getting him. I went on a Sunday AM and I guess the person who worked on me was Tom. I went in for a pedicure and an acrylic fill. I was put in a pedicure chair after choosing my color. A man comes in after a few minutes and takes his seat in front of me to start my pedicure. There was no "hi" or "hello", NOTHING! He said nothing to me until he asked where the color was that I chose. The pedicure was super mediocre and not worth going back for. Moving on to the fill. Again, not much talk which normally I am okay with but just nothing at all. I don't need a chatty person at all but some acknowledgement would be great at some point while I am there. I went in with a design that I wanted as I saw in the yelp reviews that they could do designs. He seemed annoyed at that after the woman who I originally showed it to seemed fine with it. He told me to pick the green I wanted (pre-St Patty's day) for the design. I chose a green. Apparently no one had chosen that color in forever as he had the hardest time trying to get it open and then ended up breaking the bottle of color. Again, he seemed annoyed. I opted for another green and off he went. The one star is that he did do a good job at the design even though it wasn't the green I really wanted. Even though I have been trying to find someone to do good designs, I will NEVER go back to this place. EVER. I will say that there is a woman there who I didn't get her name, was doing pink & whites and she did a lovely job. But my overall experience was so bad, I couldn't see ever going back. I got to a point where I was about to get up and leave mid-paint b/c I felt like I was bothering him by being there. read more

My boyfriend lives right down the road an I needed my shellac manicure redone, so I decided to give this place a shot. I walked right in and they went to work. I had to tell them to redo three nails because they weren't filed down evenly. I also had to tell them to fix 2 nails because they got the shellac on the skin next to the nail in a very blotchy way. I've had shellac manicures from other places before and they always come out great, I don't know why this place couldn't get it right. Long story short, I don't recommend it. read more

'Tom' is the young guy who sits near the front door and shares his ultra tRump supporting views to anyone who will listen or not listen. Many women have exchanged looks with me, I spoke to another on the sidewalk two weeks ago who was disgusted with his verbal rampages. They took me right away and started my daughter too. my wife waited and after we were done they asked her if she still wanted her nails done? They never told us they could not handle all of us. She decided to stay and get hers done because that was the goal. They did such a bad job on my daughter and my wife they were both very unhappy and the time was totally messed up. They were so distort with the service their attitude and their nails they did not even go back to get them to fixed. We will just never go back. So be warned they were very bad. I have been going to Avalon Nails for over 10 years for acrylics and pedicures. I love that there is little turnover in the staff, so when you make an appointment or walk-in, they know you by name. Seems like small-town USA when I go in there. The salon has been recently updated with new equipment, flat screen tvs, etc. The place is clean. My skin is sensitive, so I have to use a special lotion. They keep the bottle at the salon, so I don't have to remember to bring it each time. When I come in, whoever waits on me gets it without me having to remind them. Jenny and Tracy have been my go-to ladies there. I give this salon kudos for great service while maintaining moderate prices for over a decade. read more
