Honestly, the signs were there I should have known. This review is for a pedicure. An empty salon on a Sunday.... Tools not in sterile Packaging, cold water, no one asked me if I wanted a drink, and no one helped me turn the massage chair on. I asked for a 55$ pedicure, #2, with gel, and I picked my color. She gave me a volcano box and said this one , so I agreed, knowing my pedicure I picked didn't have volcano, but it was my first time here so maybe they all have that "pedicure in a box" and they have enhances outside that. The volcano pedicure package is $65. All in all the rest of the service was silent, until they switched my nail tech for the nail pairing part. when she took me to the counter, my total was 80$.... Either gel is 25$ more, or they gave me a pedicure I didn't ask for. It seemed the tech maybe didn't understand me and that might have been where it started off wrong. Have someone who understands what the client is asking for first before sending a tech over who can't give me what I asked for. There are other things that were off as well like asking to remove my toe rings, and almost giving me a color I didn't ask for before I told her no. I paid, tipped unknowing if I had to tip two people or one, and left. never coming back. And I don't recommend you do either. read more

Walked in today without an appointment and was instantly greeted and told to sit so she could begin working on my nails. All of the staff was very friendly and I absolutely loved how my nails turned out . The only complaint is the amount of times while getting a full set that she cut my cuticles while using the drill . This is the second time I've visited this salon. The first was a couple years ago and my first experience was fine which is the reason I'm not giving them 0 stars. I don't remember anything happening that would have made me not want to go back this time. So when my daughter wanted to take a couple friends for mani/pedi's for her birthday, I called Art, Nail and Spa up since it's close to my house. The atmosphere is fine. It's like any other nail salon. They got us right in on time so I was happy there. When my daughter left the salon table to show me her manicure, her nails had streaks in them and I unfortunately had to ask them to touch up most of her fingers. We waited under the dryers for 15 minutes or so, then went to get a bite to eat. The girls manicures and toenails were chipping the same night we left. I was disappointed that I'd just spent $160 including tip for the four us and three were unhappy. At that point, I figured they were girls and weren't being careful and figured I'd spent the money on the 'experience' not so much the mani/pedi. Until the next morning when my polish literally peeled off my finger nails....almost like play nail polish does. The pedicure I had, I had not put shoes on for a full 24 hours....after I put shoes and socks on Sunday morning for a walk, I took my socks off and the polish was ruined. The socks had left an impression in the polish as if I had just painted them a hour ago. I don't know what the problem was. I can see one of the polishes being bad but every color, every hand, every foot....completely has to be redone 2-3 days later? What a dissappointment. I won't be going back unfortunately. read more

I used to come here all the time but it has gotten progressively worse over the years. Today, I got a gel manicure, and right before she was about to polish I noticed that my cuticles were still a mess. I asked her politely to actually push them back & trim them because she didn't previously, and she got very offended and kept making statements along the lines of "don't tell me how to do my job I have been doing this for many years". Very very rude, and I know for a fact that she is a manager. Will NOT be returning. Don't go here unless you want to be chastised for asking to receive what you are paying for. read more

I went here for the first time last week because I was unable to go to my usual nail place. When I left, I was very happy with how my nails looked. However, my gel manicure started chipping the very next day. Now, a week later, several of the nails are chipped. Usually, my gel manicures last 2-3 weeks. My pedicure still looks fine. New to the neighborhood I thought I would try out the local nail place. Had a mani/pedi. Tad bit crowded but I wasn't in a hurry. Not a huge fan of having a male do by pedi but he was surprisingly gentle. Had french tips and he did a very good job. It has been 3 weeks and it's time for another visit. The polish has held up well and that's saying a lot since I live in sandals and hang out in the hot tub every night. Going back to the same place today so that says enough. One great thing about this salon is that I've had 3 gel manicures here so far, and they've all lasted almost a full month before I've had to change them. The down side is that they don't have many colors that are all that appealing. I've liked the ones that I've gotten, but I will have to go somewhere else if I want more choices. Service is usually friendly, but I've also had them forget about me while helping other people (while waiting to have my gel polish removed...it takes a few minutes, but you don't have to leave them soaking for 20 minutes). Prices are reasonable, and the quality has been great. I always just walk-in without making an appointment, and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes before someone is working on me. read more

My first time here I gave this place a 4 star review. After my 3rd time here, I am bumping it down to 1. The first 2 times my nails were okay, but not great. When they changed the shellac it actually physically hurt when they would scrape off the gel because they would do it too hard and I would have to keep asking them not to be so rough. My 3rd time here was the week before thanksgiving. When I got there I was the only person there, and I asked for a shellac change and a toe shellac change. They got to work on my toes at one of the pedicure stations and had a girl come over with a portable manicure set to start on my fingers. Well, about 5 minutes into this 2 individual ladies came in needing services and a mother with 3 girls came in for manicures as well. The lady that was working on my nails wrapped them in polish remover and said she would be back in a few minutes while the lady was still working on my feet. Hand lady then went to work on the girls that had come in for manicures with their mother. Normally I am all about multitasking, but only if its safe and you know when to stop. Instead of stopping when my remover should have come off, she did all 3 girls nails, taking about 35 minutes. Meanwhile, I told my foot lady that the remover felt like it was burning and my fingertips were actually starting to feel numb. She kept telling me it was fine, and that if I took my fingers out of the foil she would have to do it all over again. FINALLY nail lady comes back to me and she takes off the foil. Not only did it ruin my nails (they were naturally longer, and they had curled and shriveled up and had to be cut all the way down to the base) but it burned my skin!! When I mentioned this to nail lady she had the nerve to say " your nails looked like this when you came in" NO. They didnt. They weren't curled up into funky shapes that cut into my skin, I wouldn't have been able to function that way, and my skin was not red and raw in some places, and a ashy white on the edges (it almost looked like sores, great for the holiday right?). So she cuts the nails off down at the base. Not only did she not cut evenly, she left tears in my nails that she attempted to cover up with gel that split the next day. When I mentioned how bad they looked she said I was being too picky. Is it too picky to ask that your thumb is filed out evenly so it doesnt look like a hunk is missing? Apparently. She then was very frosty and cold and got me out as quickly as she could. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back. Its been 3 weeks, and my skin around my nail STILL hurts. I went to another nail place called Spa Nails up by whitestone HEB and the tech there saw the damage to my nails and recommended I get SNS nails ( a hybrid of gel and acrylic kind of, but without the damage of acrylic) to try to keep my nails protected while they healed because they are that bad. DO NOT GO HERE! You may get lucky a few times like I did, but once they mess up your nails its a very painful recovery. read more
