Over the past three months I have seen five massage therapist from this company and they have all been fantastic. Someone from another location mentioned Amy (at this location) and her Cranial Sacral Massages (which is more like reiki I've come to find out) and that really gave me a shift. I have a lot physical work to do and a lot of emotional release to do and the people I worked with were great at both. I have issues with my lumbar and thoracic, a disc that lost fluid, a shoulder that was damaged in childhood and somehow ignored for so long, post-surgical issues for decades- basically I'm now over 40 and falling apart given my history of medical issues (poor genetic luck) and so I decided invest and get massages twice a week for a month and at least weekly for the next month. It's costly but it's cheaper to do a bunch in a month instead of dabbling with it for years and not seeing much progress. I had a friend who was considering a massage but nervous and I advised him to book a half-hour session and see how it goes with the intention of finding a place and person that he feels comfortable buying a full massage once a week for a month since he needs therapeutic work on the body. Point is, the facilities at the two locations I've been to were clean, inviting, and the staff was always appropriately friendly and helpful. How I started with this place was from a Groupon to another massage therapist (Adam) who said I needed a lot of work (which I already knew) and told me he worked with Oak Haven as he was pursuing different avenues in the healing arts but he has a few people at Oak Haven that he really trust with his body and recommended me to them. read more

The first time I visited Oak Haven Massage, I had a great experience with Christian. He was kind, knowledgeable, and tailored the massage to my preferred pressure level. My experience with him encouraged me to sign up for the membership, which I tried out for a few months. The price is reasonable at $90 per month which includes one 50 minute massage with a tier 1 therapist. Tier 2 and above are an additional cost. I tried a few different tier 1 therapists and unfortunately didn't have a very relaxing or positive experience with any of them. I also found appointments consistently started late but ended exactly on time, meaning massage time was cut by 5-10 minutes. This was frustrating and needs to be addressed. read more

I'm disappointed to leave a review like this because the massages I've received here have been good, but unfortunately I will not be returning. I booked a 7:00 p.m. massage online and was really looking forward to it, especially after recently having a baby and finally getting a chance to take some time for myself. Later that evening, I received a text asking if I could move my appointment to either 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. I was hesitant, but agreed because I assumed they were trying to accommodate a scheduling issue on their end. Shortly before the appointment, my husband had an unexpected work delay that would have caused me to arrive late for the newly requested 6:30 appointment. I called as soon as possible, explained the situation, apologized, and asked if I could simply reschedule for 7:00 p.m. the following day instead. I was then informed that rescheduling would result in a $50 late cancellation fee. What was frustrating was that I had already adjusted my appointment time to accommodate the business, yet there was very little flexibility or understanding shown in return. In my opinion, the situation could have been handled with a bit more grace and consideration, especially since I was still willing to rebook rather than cancel altogether. It is disappointing to experience this from a business centered around relaxation and self-care, especially after explaining that I am navigating the challenges of having a newborn and balancing schedules the best I can. Oak Haven Massage has been such a relaxing and wonderful monthly self care treat that I enforce on myself. When I started with them, it was because I was sitting at a desk job and with a minor rear end incident, I wanted to get some stress and tension out of my body. A whole year later, I'm still going on their monthly membership which allows me to get a massage a month covered on the credit which saves money on the retail price of the 50 min massages. I love all the therapists I've seen and my favorites are especially Theresa, Katie and Christian! However the schedule accommodations and getting seen in the evenings after a long stressful work day is also such a lovely way to ensure I get use out of it when my calendars and weekends can be busy! Wowww that was the best massage ive ever had. Seriously! My partner and i were just raving about our massages while driving back home. My masseuse Abigail with the angel hands was able to target my knots and applied just the right amount of pressure. After about 15 mins in to my session i was regretting not getting an 80 minute session instead lol. My muscles have never felt so relaxed after a massage before. I have pretty severe chronic pain in my neck, jaw, and shoulders, and deep tissue massages are usually the only thing that helps. I've tried other methods that claim to work without deep pressure, but I've always been skeptical of gentler approaches. Normally, I wouldn't have chosen something called "therapeutic," assuming it would be too light, like other methods I've tried. But when I heard that therapeutic massage could target the root causes of chronic pain, I gave it a try with Son--and he was fantastic! I could tell he really understood anatomy and pain and that he knew what he was doing. Deep pressure is still key for me, but this approach felt more refined and even more effective than deep tissue alone. It combined deep pressure with movement and stretches to really target the muscles causing the pain, not just the surface knots. This gave me hope for lasting relief. read more

I have never had a worse massage experience with David. I've been an Oak Haven (Bulverde) customer as long as they've been open and I'll never return to that therapist. The staff was great, welcoming, and always what I get from the Bulverde location but David was the one off. He disparaged the company, told me he didn't get enough hours there, and I got a TERRIBLE massage. I paid waaaay too much money for the type of service I received.
