I would like to start by thanking the greeter who was helpful and hooked me up, literally, by charging my almost dead phone while I waited...but a special shout-out is reserved for the manager of this location, Tiana.
Such a different vibe at this location since my last visit about a year ago.
I arrived for my 3pm appointment a few minutes early. I wasn't actually called until 3:30, but that's ok because I came prepared, having checked stock on my two phone choices *prior* to making my appointment.
Tiana called me up and I tried to be friendly, but it was clear she was going to be all business. No problem, let's get to it...told her I'm switching from T-mobile and that I want the Galaxy s22, any color.
She says she'll check what they have in stock and then I can take my phone and easily have it set up from home over the phone.
I told her thanks, but I definitely want to purchase and set up it up while I'm here...I could tell this isn't what she wanted to hear.
She returns from the back to inform me they have no Galaxy s22 in stock. None. 0/4. But tells me not to worry, she can have one sent in 1-2 biz days.
Now I'm frustrated. I get the feeling she wants to avoid a service transfer/phone set up and I tell her that I checked stock for this location before even making an appointment and I've now waited an hour for nothing. Again, it's clear by her demeanor she's annoyed. She says she'll check the back again and see if she "can find anything". Ha, ok
After 12 minutes, she returns with an s22 she managed to find, hmmm. However, I had all that time to double check T-mobile's website and discovered I can get the Galaxy s22 free with trade in of my old phone. Nice!
I thanked her for looking but explained I no longer need it, thanks to the deal I found, but still want the doorbell camera I also came in for.
I told her I'd like to do the $120 for the camera added to my autopay bill @ $5/mo. Tiana then tells me I don't "qualify" for that and I will see a total of $170 on my next bill.
I showed her the sign that says it can be paid upfront or simply added to monthly bill for 24 months. (I had the same set up with home security.
Again, she informs me my security service "doesn't qualify". I press her to explain and she just says best she can do is break it down over 6 months.
This ain't pawn stars...I'm going by YOUR SIGNAGE. LOL.
I said: " Ok, nevermind" realizing that was her goal all along because her only response was to tell me to "Ok, have a nice evening" without even looking up from her monitor.
After watching how slow the service was here, WITH an appointment, and how abrupt she was with other customers, I have little doubt her goal is to get customers out with as little effort on her part as possible.
At least she saved me a lot of money, if not time. read more
