We thought the food was incredible. My husband loved his chicken melt & I enjoyed my steak gyro. The location was perfect, located right inside the art walk. We were informed by local art vendors that they can get super busy and there will be a long wait during weekends, however, we were sat right away. The place gives a chill cafe vibe, you can sit outside with nice views. I had to knock off one star based on the interaction we had with our server. Being highly allergic to pork, we need to ensure there isn't cross-contamination in our food. The server had zero idea and told us she can't guaranteed that there wouldn't be any cross-contamination going on with our food. Like come on, you are running a full-service restaurant, and you should be able to accommodate customer requests based on their food allergies. We almost had to walk out however she went to check with the chef and chef said that they'd make our food on a separate grill which we greatly appreciated. Actually, my review concerns the bar--they named it Rusted Cactus--a name that doesn't fit--personally I would have named it the Blue Raven. But I digress.... This is one cool bar with fabulous real food. Nothing out of the freezer or the micro. I feel lucky to live in this neighborhood where I can drop in for a glass or two & experience a quality nosh. If you have a sweet tooth, Denise bakes some quality desserts. The bar keep knows my husband's "usual ", which makes him feel special (because he is). YELP FOR THE WIN, AGAIN!. My family was coming through the St. George area from Las Vegas, headed to Zion when we decided we were ready to eat. Yelp suggested this place, and I thought it was making a mistake because it seemed as if we were in the middle of nowhere but we followed Yelps map. You literally drive up a road that seems is leading you nowhere up into the beautiful red rocks....... but if you have faith and keep going, you land at Xetava Gardens Cafe and an AMAZING LITTLE artistry community/shops. We were absolutely thrilled to stumble upon this little shopping center/cafe. The food was locally sourced, fresh, quality food. The setting is absolutely stunning. The menu had so many interesting and unique items it was hard to decide. Portions were great and prices were ok for what you are getting. Service was efficient and friendly. There was a wait to be seated but we didn't mind because we used that time to wander around and shop in all of the little art shops. We bought jewelry, pottery, and other assorted one of a kind locally made goods. This is a must see. Stop in here, don't pass through. What a cool place. It makes me so sad to see how this formerly super-awesome place has taken the same high-falutin' turn as the rest of this area over the last 15 years. If I wanted to be catered to like a rich white person, I'd stay in Springdale. How does a lunch salad cost me $20 when you're using plastic cups? It's both heartbreaking to see the environment eschewed for convenience and weird to drink from plastic when you give me a cloth napkin and good silverware. Additionally, I'm sad to see that these guys have stayed with the pandemic-introduced menu-by-QR code. The absolute last thing I want to do when I sit down to a meal with friends or loved ones is pull out my phone. The food is fine, but you've lost me as a customer, Xetava. Went to our favorite place to have dinner and our server Adrian said the special was Lobsterbriand, prime beef tenderloin and Maine lobster meat and we were in! Perfectly done med rare tenderloin and succulent lobster meat mixed with asparagus and heirloom tomatoes with spinach and white wine butter sauce. Words cannot describe how good this is! My experience at Xetava Gardens Cafe was absolutely wonderful. Nestled in a lovely setting, Xetava offers an idyllic, whimsical, and inviting atmosphere complimented by a staff who seems to genuinely enjoy their work. Casey, my server was extremely friendly and mindful of a time constraint I'd mentioned. She was also accommodating of my food allergies and I couldn't have been more excited to have found an excellent gluten-free waffle! Most notably, Xetava had the best Americano I've ever tried in my entire life. It was visually stunning with a beautiful gradient resulting from the perfect ratio of water to espresso resulting in the perfect strength and boldness. Even though I was in a rush, this Americano demanded that I slowed down and took my time to enjoy every sip It's very clear that the chefs take great pride in the quality of their food. My waffle felt reminiscent of visiting an old friend who I haven't seen in a while, and is also happens to be the best home cook I know instead of eating breakfast at a restaurant. Last Friday I brought a friend, a black man, to the restaurant, as encouragement for him to stay in college. We were seated at a table that is nearest the barista area and front door. We have given this restaurant 4 or 5 chances and it always end up bad. The service is always slow, the food is really not great, and the attitude from the 20-something staffers is beyond obnoxious. Everyone needs some serious customer service training from the Manager down. They argue with customers and refuse to listen to input. You are forced to use their QR code menu on a very poorly designed and cumbersome app. No actual menus are allowed or exist at this "restaurant". If it were not located in the Kayenta Village, they would have been out of business years ago. Skip this place and head over to the Cliffside Restaurant on Tech Drive on the hill by the D overlooking St. George. Much better food, much better service, and an amazing view! read more

This is a beautiful little cafe in a fairly hidden part of St. George, Utah. There is a small art enclave that surrounds it and then sweeping red views. The coffee is pretty good, although they don't have traditional drip coffee, just espresso drinks. The food is tasty too. We had a plate of delicate salmon tacos, grilled mahi in a touch-too creamy of a curry sauce, and a big bowl of fresh berries. Sitting by the window at a stunning tile table was lovely. read more

I was so excited to find Xetava Gardens Cafe out in Kayenta Art Village not far from where we were hiking in Snow Canyon State Park. We came into town for a day trip on a Sunday so I was thrilled to find out they were open on Sunday since so many restaurants in St George are closed on Sundays. One of our go to spots while visiting our home in St. George, Utah. Absolutely the best food and service every time we visit. The views and the location are spectacular in this enclave at Kayenta Art Village. Today was no exception. Went for lunch on a cold day to get a seasonal Egg Nog latte and decided to try their Nashville hot chicken sandwich special. It was amazing. Their specials are always the best. This is a hidden gem in Southern Utah! It is located in a wonderful art gallery village. Make sure you make time to stop and look at all the shops. We went after a wonderful hike in Snow Canyon. I'm an out of towner but this is my second time visiting this place. It is such a unique spot to eat! Food is great and the decor is very well done. However, exceeding all of that was the service. Christine was our waitress and she made the experience all the more impressive. Great hire, do everything you can to keep her. She was cheerful, fun to talk to, quick witted, and extremely helpful. The California chicken burger(pictured) is ABSOLUTELY amazing. We did a no cheese version and it didn't disappoint. The fries are really good stringy fries. I forgot to take a picture of the hummus plate but it's a must get!! It's super delicious as well as the lemonade mint supreme - it's like a frozen mint julep drink. Also the gluten free waffle was AMAZING. not what you would expect but crispy and soft and delicious all at the same time. Highly recommend. Mahi Tacos 5/5 Personally I couldnt taste it due to an allergy but unanimously voted the tastiest by the 4 friends (this is the dish that was given to us by mistake). Herb and Berry Salad 5/5 (added grass fed steak 4/5) If you like fruits in your salad, this is your wet dream comes true!! It was so refreshing and the balsamic dressing works really well with the berries. The crunchy candied walnuts are such awesome addition to the salad. The grassfed steak was, however, not as flavourful as I hoped. I wouldn't pay for the upgrade again. Kayenta Burger 4/5 Friend said it was good but was't memorable Steak Gyro 3/5 Would probably stay away if you're expecting halal street cart type gyro. It's not. Had our last dinner in the area here. We got the Brussels sprouts with a delightful peach topping, the large beet salad (loved the dill oil) and mahi mahi tacos. We were firmly told we could not sit inside unless we ordered meals. We have been to Xetava numerous times for meals and/or dessert over the years and have never had this issue. My friend Zoe and I stopped here on a recent pilgrimage from Las Vegas to St. George (to pick up my newest kitty!). This earthy cafe came highly recommended by friends who trek to St. George often. It was a bit tricky to find at first, as it's tucked into a delightfully artsy promenade. We were seated quickly and browsed the lengthy coffee menu. I settled on an iced caramel macchiato and enjoyed it very much. It gave me a nice jolt, but the caffeine didn't make me jittery. As for my meal, I ordered the veggie ciabatta and it was quite tasty and huge! It was loaded with zucchini, shredded carrots, tomato, onion, and mushroom. It was served with a generous serving of matchstick fries as well. I didn't eat too many of them, but I did enjoy them. I'm quite sad that this artsy cafe is a few hours away, but I will definitely be returning on any future trips to St. George! This cafe is a must-stop for both the food and the ambiance. read more

This place is all grown up after starting its life as a coffee shop/gift store. Come here on your way to the national parks (maybe 10-15 from highway) to enjoy amazing coffee and pastries. There are some cute art galleries in the same complex to satisfy the shopping urge. Their bread pudding(here bread=croissant) is truly amazing and they go cutting edge as well with their chilled chili chocolate. What's really exciting though is their transition into a restaurant. While lunch has always been on the menu now they have breakfast and I can make a strong case for an early dinner here (open Thursday-Saturday for dinner right now). Brunch on the weekend rounds out the offerings... the Borrito is a great twist on Mexican breakfast (same except with blue cheese and grapes). During the winter you can enjoy the airy and natural Vibe with brightly tiled tables and a rough stone floor that reflects the surrounding mountains. Or when its warm sit at the patio and enjoy the views of kayenta canyon. All of the houses are build low to the ground and in neutral colors that match the dessert. It feels kind of like the hobbit village in lord of the rings except with sand and rocks. Be sure to explore this area which is gorgeous and way leas crowded than the national parks. read more

First-class food, service, setting and views. I wish they had longer open hours. There are several tiny parking lots around the restaurants, art galleries, and other businesses. We enjoyed lunch outside on their patio even though it was November but sunny. I ordered a chilled beet salad with regular and golden beets, greens, candied walnuts, goat cheese and balsamic dill oil. It was delicious.
