What a fun place! We took the drive from Washington and it took about 35-40 minutes. It's so cute and magical! The little town area it's in is very enchanting and I'm sure it's packed during the art festivals. We came with a party and sat inside. Very cool ambiance and the staff was extremely friendly. We ordered a bunch of stuff and everything was top notch. I started with an aperol spritz and it was delicious and well made. The Brussel sprouts loaded with bacon, the avocado steak salad and the piccata chicken dish were delicious. Someone in our party also ordered the gyro Cajun special and he said that was very good. Found this place on Yelp & decided to give it a try. Drive over there was in the outskirts of St. George, but still a pretty drive. Plenty of parking. Easy to find. Restrooms in the area. We were checking out the art shops in the village so decided to stay for lunch and this restaurant looks delicious. It's a beautiful restaurant and well designed, with interior and exterior seating. Xetava is about 1.5 hours north of Vegas off the old 91 Hwy. The 1-15 exit is Littlefield, Arizona. Note: the 91 Hwy to Xetava has no services, so make sure you have enough gas. Xetava is located in the Kayenta Art Community, so you can eat and explore. The restaurant is lovely and beautifully decorated. We started with a Honey Lavender Latte served in a large mug. The latte from start to finish was perfect. Every sip had the honey lavender taste. Next, we ordered two appetizers. Keep in mind, this was our first visit. We tried the Cajun Brussel Sprouts and the Street Corn dip. Any problems? YES - the orders were huge, so we over achieved a bit. Both appetizers were excellent. We elected to concentrate on the corn dip and chips and took the sprouts (that easily could feed four people) home. The sprouts were served with a peach chutney. Divine! Next up, we both chose the CHIPOTLE CHICKEN CLUB - a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, avocado, tomato, provolone, smoked bacon, chipotle sauce, on sourdough bread, served with Cajun fries. Huge sandwich (also packed after a few bites to head home). The sandwich was wonderful. The Cajun fries are cut in shoestrings and were some of the best fries we've had. Can't forget the wait staff - friendly and outstanding service. Bonus: if time permits take a ride into Santa Clara about 2-3 miles north from Xeteva. Check out the grocery store - Harmons. Beautiful drive thru Ivins, I would recommend going for a cold beer or appetizer, with a gorgeous outside deck set up. But based on the nice but amateur staff, ridiculously unprofessional and under qualified floor manager, don't spend more than the bare minimum of your budget at this place. It's a sad but common story, new area and very scenic location near a high end developing residential area that simply looks down their noses at non locals ( we are from SLC, 4 hours away, and in the area 4-5 times a year). I hope this creates awareness and actually improves long term service acumen, this could be a gem but not how it's being run currently. I would give it a 1 but trying to actually get viewers as well as employees and ownership to read and acknowledge the need to be better. Had lunch with friends at Xetava today. Wonderful meal, started with the hummus plate appetizer. Then the Tuscan Chicken Pasta. Great flavors combined for a memorable meal. What a great little spot for a leisure lunch and art galleries. It's a little off the beaten path but worth the journey. When you check in they send you a link with your place in the queue and estimated time. We had about twenty minutes to enjoy the galleries which wasn't enough time. I ordered the blue cheese mushroom burger and it was very good. Be aware the blue cheese was strong but mixed with the mushrooms very well. I wanted to try their Caesar Salad served on romaine hearts and the waiter let me substitute this for my fries and it was awesome. The chipotle Caesar dressing is house made with a little kick and was oh so good. My wife ordered the Xetava burger and thought it had a great flavor and mix. She kept the shoestring fries and they were really good too. My daughter ordered the Steak and Avocado Salad, she is picky and really only wanted the steak as she doesn't normally like salads, teenagers! But ended up really liking the salad and pita bread. Win, win, she ate it all. And the ambiance and service was impeccable. The service and wait were just fine but I'd still suggest taking a bit of an executive lunch and really enjoy yourself. Overall, I would describe this restaurant as just okay. When we arrived around 2:00 PM on a Saturday, it wasn't very busy and there was plenty of open seating. However, we were seated at a table squeezed closely between other occupied tables, which made the experience feel cramped. Since our waitress appeared to have most of her tables outside, it would have been nice to be seated in that section instead. The food itself was decent, but the wait time was quite long. Ok first of all, the location of Xetava is amazing! You'll have a beautiful drive surrounded by views red rock! The environment and vibe inside is fun too. Keep in mind that there's both a cafe and bar here. The menus are different! The cafe has more food options, but closes earlier. The bar serves a smaller selection of meals that are more like appetizers, so you may want to try a couple of them to fill you up! I tried both the Vietnamese Noodles and the Tostada from the bar. My favorite of the two was definitely the tostada! It's probably the best bang for your buck. It has great flavor, it's one of the cheaper items, and it was a decent amount of food. The Vietnamese noodles were good, but had a pretty strong flavor that I couldn't have too much of. Fun to try, but couldn't have eaten the whole thing. Xetava is a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, but the quality was great and each dish is put together very well! Glad I tried it! read more

Solid choice of restaurant. The food was delivered fresh and tasty. The highlight of our meal was the DIRTY GIRL, it's made of the perfect blend of coffee and peanut butter flavors. I would describe it as a milkshake version of a latte. The place was clean and it had a fun ambiance. However, my visit left me with mixed feelings, primarily due to the rather odd interaction we had with the hostess regarding our service dog. While I understand that some establishments have protocols in place regarding service animals, the barrage of questions we faced felt unnecessary and almost accusatory. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the hostess, only to be immediately bombarded with inquiries about our service dog. While I appreciate diligence in ensuring compliance with regulations, the sheer number of questions made us feel uncomfortable, as if we were being interrogated or doubted. It's important to note that our service dog is legitimate, and we have never encountered such thorough questioning before. Although I didn't take issue with providing necessary information about our service dog, the manner in which it was done left much to be desired. It felt as though there was a strange agenda behind the interrogation, rather than a genuine concern for compliance. Despite this initial discomfort, I must commend the restaurant on other aspects of our experience. S/o to our Neil-Patrick-Harris-look-a-like server, he was phenomenal! Extremely over priced. Food mediocre. Crab cakes mushy and tasted like bland tuna. Plate of bitter lettuce with walnuts and bitter dressing was $10. Crab cakes for 2 were $19. They only had 2 high chairs in the restaurant, which were being used. We had twins who had to sit on laps, bc they wouldn't let our party of 9 push tables together. In order to get all adults at the same table, we had to hold kids on our laps as we ate. The table we wanted to push together, was never used in the hour we were there. I'd never go back. For a small tasteless dinner was $40 including a soda. FOR ONE PERSON. And it was a 20 min drive to the boonies. read more

I love Xetava. I love the food and the environment. I have even been most happy with the service. Today I was not completely satisfied with the service. Here's my complaint. They use the handheld cardswipers and since I was treating a friend, I did not want them to feel uncomfortable with me as I would have had to hit "other" to tip for my less than favorable service and it would have obviously felt awkward with the waitress standing right there holding the swiper as I did it. 20% was the lowest available tip to tap.
