Extremely over priced. Food mediocre. Crab cakes mushy and tasted like bland tuna. Plate of bitter lettuce with walnuts and bitter dressing was $10. Crab cakes for 2 were $19. They only had 2 high chairs in the restaurant, which were being used. We had twins who had to sit on laps, bc they wouldn't let our party of 9 push tables together. In order to get all adults at the same table, we had to hold kids on our laps as we ate. The table we wanted to push together, was never used in the hour we were there. I'd never go back. For a small tasteless dinner was $40 including a soda. FOR ONE PERSON. And it was a 20 min drive to the boonies. read more

The food was so good!! I highly recommend! I look forward to stopping in again, the next time in Utah.

Beautiful food, beautiful view! Gem in the desert! Service, food, Ambiance! Breathtaking. ( We didn't wait to take pictures of the food- it looked too good to wait! ) read more

I love Xetava. I love the food and the environment. I have even been most happy with the service. Today I was not completely satisfied with the service. Here's my complaint. They use the handheld cardswipers and since I was treating a friend, I did not want them to feel uncomfortable with me as I would have had to hit "other" to tip for my less than favorable service and it would have obviously felt awkward with the waitress standing right there holding the swiper as I did it. 20% was the lowest available tip to tap. It went from 20% and up. Whatever happened to 18% to allow a customer room to show error? read more

If you want to go somewhere comfortable, relaxing, with a nice view, come to Xetava Gardens. My friend and I went for lunch and I was not disappointed by the food. She raved about the brussel sprouts and so I had to try them, right? I'm so glad I did! They were DELICIOUS! Honestly, that could have been the only thing I ate and I would've been so satisfied. It doesn't sound like it would go well with the chutney, but it balanced the brussel sprouts perfectly. I also ordered the gyro. I'm a HUGE fan of gyros so when I see them in the menu, I need to try it. First off, it was a rather large gyro and stuffed. I left it wrapped in the foil because I would have dropped it all if I hadn't. I even needed to pick some of the meat out just so I could take a bite. It was that stuffed! Albeit too big for my bite, it was delicious and I definitely recommend it. My friend got the mahi mahi tacos and she was extremely pleased. I'm going to have to try those next time. They were stuffed well and they smelled divine. I absolutely recommend you come sit down for a meal at Xetava Gardens when you're in the area. It's worth it. read more

Xetava Gardens Cafe at Kayenta Art Village is a gem!! Yum yum yum to my tummy tum tum!! Kayenta Art Village, ~7 miles west of St. George, was on my list of things to do in southern Utah before heading back to Las Vegas. So, after a quick trip to Cedar Breaks National Monument, we planned to have lunch at Xetava. I see a return visit in my future! Started off with a refreshing glass of a Watermelon Rosé - a perfect summer cocktail! Followed by a wonderful Beet Salad and Hummus Plate as appetizers - both of which were half plates (a nice option). Tasted so fresh and crispy, like farm-to-table. The Lemon Dill Salmon was out of this world! A generous-sized, perfectly grilled, wild salmon fillet, swimming in a creamy lemon dill sauce sprinkled with capers, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. Cilantro rice and toasted Ciabatta were great carb options to slather up all the saucy goodness! My +1 ordered the Xetava Burger - he reports 10/10! We finished up with something sweet and simple: Lavender Latte & Americano with an Oatmeal cookie. Not overly indulgent. Just enough to satisfy our craving for something sweet and bitter. Customer service was great upon checking in. Wait time was about 15 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. During that time, I walked around the village and discovered some really cute boutiques! Our server and the rest of the staff were friendly and attentive! read more

New owners and the food is mediocre at best now. I'm so sad to lose the old xetava which used to be a favorite for me.

12/2024 - updated review. We stopped in again based on our first experience. This time it is still amazing ambience. However, the food was not as great and it took an incredibly long time to receive our food (about 50 minutes after ordering). Staff we encountered were friendly. We ordered the green curry; a burger; salmon and a fruit bowl. The fruit in the fruit bowl was starting to go bad. The grapes were wrinkled and the strawberries browning. The curry didn't taste like curry. It tasted more like milk. The French fries were the best part of the meal. Artistically astounding! Delightful discovery just outside of St. George. The drive getting there is spectacular and the surrounding businesses are beautiful. We sat outside which was wonderful. Great time of night, not super loud, amazing views, nice music selection playing in the background. Definitely a 10/10 in ambiance. Apparently they're known for the cocktails. Didn't really know that when we picked them but cool fun fact. They did have several gluten free options but be sure to communicate clearly with the waiter. Very friendly and highly recommend. read more

Food, service, ambiance all good. Scenic location with other shops close by. Worth the drive.

I eat at Xetava whenever I get a chance. I have enjoyed the food and the experience every time:-)

Had a really amazing dinner at Xetava on Monday 1/12! The food was fresh, delicious and just what we were looking for!

Nice cozy restaurant, with good service. Food was decently quick, and they have some great cocktails. read more

$25 for a chicken club -to change the bun an extra $2. The bun was stale, the fries were soggy and it just wasn't up to snuff. I used to get it all the time and know what it was like when prepared properly and quality at delivery. Such a shame as the staff is processional and kind but the food was less than subpar-I feel a little ripped off today. And that's why I won't return any time soon. read more

I have to start this review with a shout out to Aidan, who is quite possibly the best waiter I've ever met in my entire life. We gave him a fat tip because that man did not lead us astray. Started the evening ordering some Brussel sprouts. Aidan says "look, I'm gonna hook you guys up. Ask for beta and bacon on top. Trust me." We do it. Mind blown. Destroyed. The best Brussel sprouts of my life. Truly life changing delicious vegetables. Get. The. Hookup. Next we order drinks. Originally went for the Bellini, Aidan goes "that is our weakest drink, if you like fruity, I'd get this lavender lemonade." I do. It's amazing. The frozen mojito thing is also amazing. Aidan saved lives that night. Ordered a burger (life changing delicious, didn't take a photo because it was devoured so quickly) and some cauliflower tacos, both insanely delicious. We had to run to a show at Tuacahn, so we boxed up the extras and ate them later and they were still delicious. Seriously incredible dining. The area is gorgeous, just really in tune with natural landscaping, it's such a unique dining experience. Can't recommend it enough. read more

This was our second time going to Xetava! I recommend this place to everybody I know in St George. Food is excellent, service was good, has a great vibe. Service is very friendly. read more

Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was quick on the beverage order. We enjoyed the grilled Caesar salad...tossed with a dressing with a little kick, a nice serving of grated cheese and croutons. We also enjoyed the French dip...roasted beef on a roll, with horseradish, provolone, and au jus with a side of fries. We finished the meal with a piece of their home baked coconut cake. All in all, we really enjoyed our dinner. And worth noting, there's an outdoor patio which offers a great view of Snow Canyon for some great ambiance. read more

Dined here without a reservation, and was seated immediately. Very pleased with how quick the service was. We got seated at 6:40 and left the restaurant at 7:15. We ordered the Steak Gyro with a side of grapes and the Short Rib Mac. The steak was on the salty side. If it were even a tiny bit saltier, it would have been completely unenjoyable. However, overall the gyro was good and had good flavor. The Short Rib Mac was good. The short rib had good flavor and was a little sweet. It worked nicely with the Mac & Cheese. Overall, this was a pleasant meal that matched the beautiful scenery outside. read more

The place has changed for some reason. The beet salad is just a salad with a few beets. The pictures are completely wrong now. The mahi tacos pictured have changed. The place was empty. It looks like they are struggling and the quality and quantity shows. Maybe come in for a drink and fries and get dinner somewhere else. The specials look like they have disappeared as well. This was a 5 now a solid 2.5! read more

First time back after the change of ownership and updated menu. It was pretty good before but now everything is so much better. The mushroom cheesesteak (add prime rib) was outstanding as was my wife's salad. Sitting outside on a beautiful day was a bonus along with the stellar service. Can't wait to return. read more

The food and service were both excellent. This is an experience for people that want good food with a healthy twist that is still delicious. My mother and sister require gluten free options and they were not disappointed. read more

Actually, my review concerns the bar--they named it Rusted Cactus--a name that doesn't fit--personally I would have named it the Blue Raven. But I digress.... This is one cool bar with fabulous real food. Nothing out of the freezer or the micro. I feel lucky to live in this neighborhood where I can drop in for a glass or two & experience a quality nosh. If you have a sweet tooth, Denise bakes some quality desserts. The bar keep knows my husband's "usual ", which makes him feel special (because he is). It's an oasis with a good vibe & understated groove. If you're looking for a place you can take your mom or your date, that isn't noisy or stinky, this is the place. read more

Loved it. I've been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed. Try the Wild Mushroom sandwich and have them add prime rib. Makes a great cheesesteak sandwich. We also tried the Mahi Mahi. Both were excellent. read more

Super delicious food. We arrived for lunch and ordered the California Chicken Melt and the Pulled Pork Quesadilla. The Chicken Sandwich is a large sandwich on a ciabatta roll with many fresh toppings. They used pepper jack cheese in the Quesadilla with fresh toppings. Both of these items were prepared and put together in a way that really enhanced the flavors. We also ordered the Bread Pudding dessert, as it is made using croissants. That seemed like an interesting idea, and this is their most ordered dessert. However I was underwhelmed by this dish. It wasn't bad, just wasn't as thick as I like. We came on a busy Saturday afternoon, but only had to wait 10 minutes. They offer indoor / outdoor seating, a huge list of interesting drinks and starters, and the location is perfect for artisan shopping as the restaurant is located in the Kayenta Art Village. I will definitely find my way here again when I'm in the area. read more

Xetava's new owners have improved food and service and expanded their operation with the Rusted Cactus tapas bar. Unfortunately, they don't seem to appreciate that much of their business is generated by the Kayenta Arts Center and Kayenta residents. At the annual "Taste of the Town" benefit for the Kayenta Arts Center, where each guest paid $75 to $100 for a ticket, Xetava and Rusted Cactus won the Cheapskate Award by serving the least appetizing, but most economical, "street food" they could conjure. Fortunately, small restaurants that do not enjoy the regular patronage of Kayenta residents, like Paps's Got Jerk and Tequiliana in Leeds, served food fit for a "Taste of the Town" event. If we had to eat what Xetava served, we would have gone home hungry. read more

Visiting St George We ate dinner at the recommended Xetava. My husband and I ordered the Mahi tacos. They were excellent. My daughter ate the crab cakes that were mushy. I would not bother with the garden salad it was overpriced and the advertised cheese was scant. The coffee was weak . If you go just order the tacos read more

I just paid almost $10 for two plain soda waters. I consider that price gouging and taking advantage of local customers. Even after talking to the manager, he was unwilling to rectify the situation and gave poor excuses. The price was not listed on the menu. The food is good. read more

Second visit to this lovely bistro in Kayenta art district. I enjoyed the steak gyro served with feta cheese and large slices of cucumber and avocado and pita bread. Xetava is a personal favorite for breakfast. Their dinners are good too, but it is the perfect place to start the day with views, environment, service, and quality of food. A charming restaurant, nestled below the red cliffs of Kayenta. Stroll around the galleries and shops that offer locally created stunning arts. The food: Top notch. One of the best meals I've had in the St. George area. Compliments to the Chef who obviously has extensive knowledge and training and a talent for blending the best flavors together. The garlic mushrooms were amazing! I loved how customizable the burgers were. I am currently working on maintaining a low carb diet and the ability to remove the bun and substitute the fries for a salad was awesome. The server Esther was extremely helpful with the menu and her recommendations were spot on. She was attentive and social and knew the menu well. I loved her candid feedback regarding the menu and which items were popular or her favorite. This cute little restaurant is breathtaking in its beauty and surroundings. The decor, the views, the peace and beauty gave me the vibes like I were in Sedona instead of St. George. This spot will definitely be in my every other week rotation going forward. read more

I have not been disappointed with the food either. Love their chicken caesar wraps and last time I hand the beef dip and it melted in my mouth.
