Fun fact: the state of Utah law sets a limit of 3.2% alcohol by weight sold at grocery stores and convenient stores. So, with that said, God knew I was coming and I was reluctant enough to be close to Wine heaven! This ultimate wine store was located to the right of our vacation stay, Coral Springs Resort, alleluia thank you Jesus. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find alcohol in Utah, as they dont sell it in grocery stores. You seriously have to find a liquor store. I was excited to find this place coveniently located next to the resort we were staying at. They have a huge selection of alcocol... most importantly, wine! The staff is friendly and the way this place organizes it's wine selection is genious! It goes from isle to isle starting from the price point... cheapest to most expensive from wine type. So... fun fact is not actually a fact. Groceries are not limited to 3.2%. They sell beers up to 5% ABV. (4.0% by weight, but who cares... ABV is whats on the can). So u can buy the vast majority of beers at a grocery. That said, for those of us who like stronger beers and wine, its the State. read more

A lot of selections and the place is not far away where we stayed at. Its clean and the cashier is very friendly.

When you're a boozer and you let your stock run low on a whirlwind trip thru out the west and you forget that Utah is a dry state (almost) you make the crazy drive to the next town over and have to get there by 7pm when they close. Made it with 5 min to spare so I loaded up with 3 handles! Store was very impressive with all the product lined up perfectly with labels facing out! Love it! read more

Stopped by the State Liquor Store when we were visiting Zion National Park and staying in Hurricane. As someone not from Utah, it's kind of odd how far you have to drive to have a selection of liquors. The State Liquor Store is a sizeable drive from the main part of Hurricane, so you have to make a deliberate effort to go there to pick up supplies for whatever you're trying to do (also because you can't purchase alcohol on Sunday, you need to make sure that you've got whatever you need on Saturday night). All this said, the actual store is very nice and upscale. The selection of wines/ spirits is fairly vast, and my friends and I spent quite some time looking through their wine racks for something that caught our eyes. The staff was very nice and they quickly realized that we were tourists (apparently Hurricane is not pronounced as you'd expect, Hurri-KEN, not Hurri-CANE), ultimately suggesting some good spots for us to visit to watch the sunset and not have to take another hike to get good views. read more

It's really too bad these people are "maskholes." I cannot wear a mask and I nicely tell them that when I enter. Apparently, they think that because I can't wear a mask that I am some sort of second class citizen! They were ok before the mask mandate, but now they are very rude to me. To used to go in 1-2 times a week, but now I haven't been in for a month or more because of their rude behavior toward me. Being the only option for liquor for at least 50 miles there isn't much to complain about. After all, we are talking about Utah here! You can get beer at most convenience stores but liquor is another story. Don't count on the restaurants to have any and if they do, Mormons can't make a good drink ;-) read more

I hate Utah ABC. They jack up the prices to hell and the bimbos that work at this one suck at their job. I asked about a certain wine and the meth head looking broad looked at me like I was speaking in tongues. Completely useless. I went in with my wife and they refused to sell because my wife didn't have ID. We went in at least a dozen times before and they never asked my wife for ID so why all of a sudden? Luckily we found it in the car and bought our liquor so now I only go in and buy what we want. It does absolutely nothing except piss off your customers if you single us out for having IDs. It's so easy to just keep a minor in the car while you go in and buy booze if that's what you're trying to keep from happening. I hate to admit it but any time I go to Vegas I buy about $100 worth of booze and bring it back. I get a lot more for my money there than I do with these stupid state run liquor stores. We get it. LDS is against booze. If people want it they'll get it and drive drunk or do stupid things while drunk because that's how humans are. Let liquor stores open up. Let me be able to ship wine and booze to my own house. If not that then lower the damn prices and get some employees that aren't idiots. read more

So we are in Utah so the hours are limited but I really like this store. It's never crowded (mainly because it's in the middle of nowhere!) If you are looking for something specific, go to Lee's in Mesquite where you can get low prices, bad service and huge crowds. Here the people are polite and there is usually some reasonably priced option for what you want! read more

Be mindful of Utah and their strict liquor laws - you have to make sure whoever you're entering this store with has their ID. No excuses. No picture proof. I came here with 3 of my friends (all Asian by the way), and the Caucasian security guard had followed us all around the store as if we were going to steal something. Mind you, we came into the store without no backpacks or purses. The security even went out of his way to follow us to a Cognac section acting like he was thirsty all of a sudden, and just kept his eyes on us the whole time. Like you are not slick, Rick. Since one of my friends had left her ID back at our AIRB&B, we told her to wait outside. But the store clerks had seen her, so of course, we couldn't make a purchase since her ID wasn't present. Well... I expected to have to go to a state store to buy wine, but I didn't expect to have to drive nearly 8 miles (from our hotel in Hurricane) to get there. I had asked Siri for directions and was swearing at her because I was sure she must have somehow missed a closer store. Nope. We finally got there and they had a tremendous selection of wine - really excellent - priced much higher than I'm used to, but they had my "house pour" at "only" 25% more than I'm used to paying. It was well worth it after our 9 miles of hiking in Zion. BUT - and this I found incredible - the giant, new, well-stocked and well appointed store does not have a refrigerator case! Not one! The only reason I'm giving three stars is because everyone but one employee were very nice but that one employee was very disrespectful and rude to me without a care in the world her name is Susan. I am wearing a very cute but kind of revealing gold crop top and as I was checking out I was on the phone with my sister. when she handed me the receipt I said "thank you have a good day" and her response was "just so you know we require shirts here." I am not a person to be rude back and make a huge scene but I also do not think that SUSAN should be working at a liquor store if she doesn't think people should wear what they want. She was very rude and had very poor customer service, just because she has an opinion on what other people should wear. There was one specific employee who was very nice and more than happy to go get the manager so I could talk with him and help me out in anyway. I appreciate her and want to say thank you. This liquor store has a huge selection when compared to the 2 liquor stores in St. George. The staff is always friendly and willing to help me find certain wines. And I really appreciate that they I.D. me! It makes me feel like I look younger than I really am! I just wish that their prices were as low as Smiths in Mesquite! Bad place to buy beer. Over twice the price of other outlets. When we asked why he was ringing up individual bottles instead of the six pack, he answered with a stupid song and dance about inventory. We are tourists, and figured this was the way things are done around here. Anyway, we later saw the same beer at a different store for less than half the price we paid. Lesson learned. read more

Perhaps it's all relative given it's Utah and I'm from Orange County in Southern California where there's absolutely no shortage of expansive liquor stores. But I was pleasantly surprised by the vast selection of wines and liquors here, particularly since the hereby larger City of Saint George had essentially nothing to offer. read more
