black and blue burger lunch special $12.45 all taxes in
Robert M.

Seeing how Subway really made my day with their faux food and shoddy service I was fortunate to find this lovely book walking down Yonge street...I decided to take the plunge and try the lunch side Black and Blue burger with fries seemed safe enough....seeing how the bar was busy the bartender was kind enough to make small talk with me while I waited for the food to be prepared The burger is one of the largest ones I have ever seen hands down without it being a speciality burger or competition (see: Holy Chuck) It was grilled medium well to perfection with the right mix of Blue cheese and condiments (they give you the ketchup and Mustard to apply to the burger) to satisfy my hunger The fries weren't anything special simply tasty and some house garnish to add some kick to an already superb lunch. While I grant 4 stars as a review...that's simply based on the fact I had take out Instead of dining in but it certainly one of re best take or experiences I've ever had personally I'd eat here again without a doubt!

Fantastic local bar and restaurant that serves dinner till 2am. Also the chef is very accommodating and will make anything you want even off menu if he has the ingredients. Service is excellent and they remember your name. Lovely cozy bar where everyone knows each other. Lots of great beers on tap. Nothing but great things to say about this place! Primarily a sports bar with two big screens upstairs and three downstairs along with a pool table which is a perfect room for private parties or to lounge with friends on their comfy couches. I also like the table by the window for watching the world pass by as you enjoy a great meal and drink. Cheers!

P4 Pad Gra Prow - The best dish! We chose mild spicy, which wasn't spicy at all. P5 Khao Soi - Golden noodles, very delicious, the coconut milk flavor permeated the noodles, and the meat was quite tender. P6 Pad See Ew - It tasted like wide rice noodles, delicious! We chose beef and extra shrimp. P7 Coconut Sorbet - Coconut milk ice cream, not bad, a little too sweet, and had a little bit of coconut meat. Mango Sticky Rice - The mango sticky rice was average, nothing particularly delicious. P8 Thai Iced Tea - A little sweet and a little too sweet. Fresh Coconut Water - Very refreshing and fresh coconut water. Compared to other Thai restaurants in Toronto, this one was the best!

Do not take reservations for small groups. Ordered Spring Rolls, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai. All dishes were really good. Spring rolls had more mushroom taste, but lightly fried. Pad See Ew had great flavor, not too oily or salty, and had great quality of beef. Chicken pad Thai had balances sweet, sour, and savory notes. Portions were generous, but expect to pay over $25 per plate. Mango Sticky rice good not great, since mango was super ripe to add sweetness. Plenty of coconut "sauce" to flavor the rice. We ordered 2 cocktails to start with the tapioca dumplings and green papaya fritters. The drinks came out immediately. I had the Tincture Perfect, which was outstanding. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.

Service personnel, many with genuine Thai heritage, execute their roles with palpable passion for the menu's cultural context. The kitchen approaches classical Thai flavor constructions with respect, evident in the balance of fundamental taste components--the interplay of spice, acid, and umami articulation. Signature preparations achieve notable authenticity, with ingredients selected for both quality and cultural accuracy. The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization. The pricing structure reflects aspirational positioning within Toronto's Thai dining landscape--a consideration worth acknowledging when evaluating value proposition relative to alternative establishments. The establishment's restrictive approach to dietary accommodation--particularly regarding plant-based protein substitution in curry preparations--represents a notable limitation for certain guest profiles, warranting consideration in advance planning. Si Lom Thai Bistro offers a competent, earnest interpretation of Thai cuisine, executed by personnel who understand and respect the tradition. The experience appeals to those seeking sophisticated Thai dining executed with cultural literacy, though contextual factors merit thoughtful consideration.

I eat pad Thai in every city I visit and this may be the best yet since I first had pad Thai in college many many years ago. Been chasing that epic pad Thai for years and think I finally found it. Amazing depth of flavor. Partner got the Islamic noodles, which he thought were excellent as well, rich flavor and very well made. Would happily eat again. The only issue I had which made me knock off a star is that the glass and silverware had an odd scent, like the smell your glasses have if there's food stuck in your dishwasher filter -- if you know that scent you know what I mean. Just smelled funky and honestly the smell was ruining the taste (smell and taste are so closely linked) so I drank out of my own water bottle I had brought and grabbed a plastic fork to eat with which did solve the issue but still...less than ideal

Service was very friendly. Normally this would be a 5-star review, but there were a few things that stopped that... the dining room is just way too bright, I prefer more comfortable, lower lit environments to elevate the overall experience. We ordered an appetizer, which came out first, but then they didn't give us the time to finish it. The main dishes came out right after, so we were rushed. Lastly, there were some items on the dinner menu we wanted to try, but they refused, only brunch items were available. Food portions were good, but could have been bigger. Ignoring all of that, the food is amazing. If you're into Thai food, this place is a must.
