    Tandoori Chicken legs

We stopped into this cozy pub on a Thursday night for drinks and snacks. (Corner of Wellington and Portland). The staff were very friendly and efficient. We ordered a couple of glasses of Chardonnay which came to the table quite promptly. We sat on the dining side which has cozy booths (very comfy)! Sound level was conducive to have a nice chat. Our server told us there had been some new additions to the menu which we tried! We went for the Bam Bam Shrimp, Tandoori Chicken Legs and Chicken Pan Fried Dumplings with an order of frites. The food also came to the table in good time. The frites were perfect and crunchy. Loved the dumplings and that dipping sauce was fab with them. The shrimp and chicken were both good too. Would have liked just a tad more kick to the sauce on the shrimp but still pretty good. We'll be back! They do a nice brunch on the weekends and they will be starting up their Sunday roast dinner soon (for winter)! Those are both keepers! Pretty reasonable for King West area too.

It was nice to have supper on the patio at Bar Wellington (they recently just reopened). There is a park across the street so it's a great spot for people and dog watching. Gord had Bam Bam Shrimp (tempura battered shrimp tossed in tangy Thai sauce). I had Baked Macaroni & Cheese (chorizo sausage with sweet cherry tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella, monterey jack cheeses). Both were good! Tavia was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us.

I like going to Bar Wellington because they've got a great outdoor patio and tons of indoor seating. The location is great since it's just off king so it's never too loud. This was my second time going and the service has always been really good. Even though they've got a great selection of drinks the food is mediocre. The gnocchi wasn't very flavorful, if it weren't for the bacon bits i'd say it was missing salt. The mac n' cheese wasn't bad, but my friends and I would've liked it to have had more bread crumbs for a more baked finished, the chicken and waffles we liked the best, it had the most flavor. I'd definitely recommend Bar Wellington, it's a good local bar and always has seating!

$16 gnocchi. Flavors are mild and portions are light.

The redeeming factor is their food - some of it. Service could use an overhaul. Came as a group of 10 girls with reservations on a Saturday night. Off the bat the waitress' attitude showed us that she wasn't happy with us being there. We received attitude, our coasters literally being tossed on our tables, a wrong order that involved awkward waiting, and having to request our dishes to be cleared. She did get nicer as the time to pay got closer. You're not getting what you pay for in terms of portions other than the Mac and cheese. The pasta and gnocchi didn't taste like much, and nobody mentioned fries or salad costing extra when they asked which we wanted along with the salad. We ordered a number of wines, drinks, and shots. At least their gin and tonics weren't stingy. But their wine came short of the 9oz line. Would I go here again? No. Would I recommend this place? Only if the other delicious restaurants in the area are booked solid.

Great people watching patio, service, food and drinks. Stopped in here on a whim for a drink with my mom and was pleasantly surprised. Brunch was still available so we split eggs benny over the kale salad. It was excellent! The kale was prepared perfectly, the dressing was just the right amount and the eggs were cooked as requested and very tasty. My mom and I were both satisfied. I also ordered a caesar since it was brunch time :) It was delicious! I then tried the welly lemonade... so good! I highly recommend it! My mom tried a sip and then ordered one too. All and all great spot for a bite and a few drinks. The prices are very reasonable and at no point did we feel rushed or were we left wondering where our server went. Will be back for sure!

A decent watering hole slash resto bar in the heart of the city. The service is average and the menu has limited options with just a few choices that stand out. I got a salad with prosciutto and a Tom Collins. Salad was alright except the kale was fairly fresh. It was filling but honestly could use more dressing. Prices are a bit higher than I'd pay for sub standard food. The patio is fairly large so no need to sit indoors in the dim lighting. Don't recommend unless you don't feel like venturing more west into the core.

I've only been here for brunch, but both times, I've consistently had great service and a tasty meal. ALSO the outdoor patio has a nice view of the park! This time we had the quinoa breakfast bowl and classic eggs benny. Both were delish. I would highly recommend for your brunch needs.

I heard about good things about this place from my colleague. Called in to put an order, then they said lunch menu wasn't available online. So i asked for some recommendations. The answer wasn't too helpful. So i went in myself. Ordered a kale salad with Salmon. One star is for the Salmon, with was $6 extra on top of a $17 lunch menu Salad. Tbh, I expect a lot more than not even a box full of chopped kale and some cheese crumbles for $17. The dressing has disgusting fishy taste, going directly to garbage... what a disappointment...

Pepper pitter-patters to patios periodically for play. Say that five times fast, and then consider frequenting this brick home turned corner al fresco haven. It's near your cool loft office and/or your pal's overpriced condo. The Caesar comes with a pickled bean and a hot pepper making this bloody babe pickle-y and naturally hotter. It's nice. They have a massive tap list, too, if beer is your thing. I paired my cocktail with their version of a Caprese that I shared with a bud. It was kind of sweet and they used cherry tomatoes. Honestly, it wasn't my fave, but I can appreciate that it's a decent salad. I enjoy their french onion soup in the winter, but this place is really all about their patios, so try to check it out in the warmer months.

The inexpensive price point is a good indicator of what quality to expect. My steak was accompanied with an after taste. My sweet potato fries weren't crispy enough. More than half my dinner was left on my plate and I didn't take anything to-go. I'm going to have to pass next time somebody suggests Bar Wellington.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!
