As part of the annual Winterlicious promotion, two of my friends and I picked three restaurants with the prix fixed menu that'd we'd never tried before. This was first on our list, located in the Scotiabank Tower on Adelaide. We got a nice corner table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, not too loud but not library-like either. The music, mostly UK fare like their cuisine, played an acceptable volume that my friends and I didn't have to raise our voices. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! We went for a special occasion to The Rabbit Hole. I probably would've more likely given a 3.5. But since you don't have an ability to give a .5, I actually pushed it forward to a four star. It's located in the Scotiiabank Plaza at King and Bay. Entrance is closest to the Adelaide side of that building. You enter on the ground floor level, but then you have to walk up some stairs to actually get to the restaurant if you see the place with the kegs on the side of the stairs, you're in the right spot! You'll have to go buy those kegs later if you want to use the bathrooms cause that's where they are. Once you get upstairs, it's a quite nice looking pub area ( maybe little bit more higher end than some pubs ). We specifically went there because in December 2025 they had a special where they were doing a beef Wellington every day until it sold out. The price tag was a bit steeper at $60, although I have to say it was pretty good. Do I think it was worth the $60, well? I think the jury still out on that one. The service was very nice. The server came and checked on us periodically, and I did let them know that it was a special birthday for my partner, and so they actually arranged a nice to surprise and brought a special dessert out after the main meal. It was nice to get something sweet to finish the meal (comp'd). The Wellington was very good. It was probably just a little overcooked for me. I prefer mine more like medium rare and it was probably more like medium well done. I might've liked it better if it had not been so well done. However, it was still pretty good and a very nice flavor and it came with mashed potatoes and a really lovely gravy and some nice roasted vegetables. Atmosphere is pretty lively, I would say that there's not a lot of privacy because the tables are very close together. That was kind of a so-so thing in my book, but not a big deal. It is a pub after all. Also, that's what you can expect in those types of establishments. So it was quite enjoyable, it was also my first time there. Not sure I'd run back there although I generally do like O&B restaurants. It's just there are others of theirs that I prefer far more than this one. The restaurant felt understaffed as it felt like our waitress was serving the side room (full) and more... hence service was a bit slow. Roasted beetroot salad - A delicious blend of textures. Candied walnuts for the crunch, some tenderness from the beetroot, soft chews from the ancient grains. The vinaigrette and goat cheese comes together nicely for the flavour. Scallop and bacon pie - The pie was beautiful. The topping of the pie was a mash potato piped beautifully. Loads of scallop in the pie, but didnt get the seafood nor did I get the bacon flavour. Wouldn't recommend. Fries - More like wedges with some light batter. Unfortunately it was not crispy on the outside. Lots of ketchup made the fries a bit more tolerable. Sticky toffee pudding - Definitely a must try! Moist cake with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. Topped with granola to give a nice crunch. Didn't try their cocktails or beers. Unlikely to come back, but if I do I'll need to try their beverages. read more

We stopped by the Rabbit Hole for drinks and dessert after a full dinner. I love the ambience of the space, full of warm chestnut woods and candle lit atmosphere. The space is vaguely Alice in Wonderland themed, with clocks on the walls and teacups scattered around. The service is energetic and friendly, constantly checking in and helpful with suggestions. I had the Golden Ticket while my partner got the Malverick. Very different cocktails as the Golden Ticket was tart, lime forward and bright. The Maverick was dark, sweet and smooth. Both very well balanced and great drinks. We ended the night with the Baked Alaska. Unexpected flavors of coconut icecream and sweet pineapple, all encapsulated in a cloud of sweet marshmallow and torched. The food....meh. the haggis balls were very bland, except for the barbecue sauce they were drowned in. Would have preferred a more flavourful ball, with a drizzle of sauce. Same for the Welsh rarebit. Cheesy toast. Underwhelming. The sauce on the cod was quite tasty, but the cod itself was a little dry and overcooked. I was generally underwhelmed with my experience at The Rabbit Hole. Based on the pictures the vibe and the atmosphere didn't match. But what bothered me most was that I flew in for only one day to visit Toronto and I while was looking for a good and memorable food experience it was mostly disappointing. I made a reservation for two because I found their food items on their menu intriguing and the pictures looked nice, but come to find out that during happy hour they only service starters and small items. Nowhere (!!!) on the website does it say that!! So I wasted my only opportunity to get something good to eat in Toronto on finger food... and yet, after 3 starters and two cocktails, I ended up with a $112 bill after everything was said and done and still left hungry. I went on a Tuesday night for the first time with a friend for drinks! The decor in this place is absolutely fabulous, very upscale and well thought out. We were seated based on what we were having (drinks vs. food) which I thought was smart. We were seated promptly and the server was able to quickly check the dairy allergy at our table. There are definitely limitations in the snack menu if you are dairy-free. They have a wide selection of drinks and are pretty affordable considering the location and restaurant atmosphere. We shared the fries and malt dish from the snack menu. I didn't really understand the, "malt" aspect to it, but they were good fries with a side of ketchup. I love this place. It's cute, it's trendy, and the food is pretty good. The Rabbit Hole has Alice in Wonderland vibes with quirky animal wallpaper on the ceilings and a mountain of clocks on its walls. I was looking for a place that could accommodate a larger group of 6, and had a diverse and approachable enough menu for everyone, including children at a reasonable price. Even the pickiest eaters could probably find something they like on the menu at The Rabbit Hole. We started with the bone marrow and the scallops. Everybody enjoyed the appetizers, even the pickiest eater in our group. I ordered the queen's Gaelic steak and it was definitely worth the price. You get a tender steak topped with a rare bit (Welsh cheese-like batter, not rare at all) and portobello mushroom. On the side was duck fat scalloped potatoes. Anyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for duck fat potatoes, so needless to say I found the food great. read more

Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I've always wanted to try this place because the atmosphere and vibe looks very cool. I'm all for gastropub style foods so I was very excited. Ordered the scotch egg (12), atlantic salmon (32), lentil & winter squash cottage pie (22), and the apple + blackberry crumble (12). I thought the scotch egg was very unique in terms of presentation and taste, really enjoyed it. The salmon was served with a very creamy sauce and a bunch of vegetables along with it. The dish was nice overall but I was expecting a bit more given its steep price. The cottage pie was really big but I thought it in terms flavor it was a bit plain, though the presentation was great. The desert might have been my favorite dish since it was just really delicious. It was served kind of warm since it was a custard and crumble while having the cold taste of the sorbet. Really nice dessert! Service was great and they have a simple reservation process through opentable but since there's just so many options downtown it might be a while since I come back here. My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary. The food was awesome! Service was really good despite an error made in giving me the wrong dish. I had to wait a bit longer for my dish but I was ok with that especially because from one server to the next, we received several apologies for the error. When we ordered a couple of desserts, we were pleasantly surprised to have received a charcuterie board of more desserts than we ordered of no charge ... I feel as part of their apology. It wasn't sweet as hell like most of the other cocktails, nor too watery. It was a perfect blend of alcohol, flavour and ice. The service was very attentive right from our greeting by a pleasant young lady with short dark hair. She seated us promptly. My wife and I were going to a show and decide to have dinner prior. My wife had the Halloumi fries, generous portion nice umami dip on the side. they were over cooked which led to dry interior. Seemed like they were pre blanched and finished to order. I had the Scotch Egg. just O.k. Entrees my wife had the stuffed chicken wings with chips. chips were store bought. the wings were supposed to be stuffed with Nduja sausage. filling was very dry and not spicy also had the addition of Garam Masala which over powered everything. Nduja is a spicy high fat soft salami from the Calabria region, so not sure why the filling was dry. I had the lamb mixed grill. The selection of meat was nice, well prepared, grilled cabbage was tough and very smoky. The mint pesto lacked flavor, over processed as it had lost its color. The cocktails were well done. Wanted to try something different and we came across this place on Instagram so we decided to try it out. Parking was super easy to find as there was a parking garage 1 minute away so that was nice. We got a couple of things to try and share because there were so much to choose from and it all sounded amazing. Beef Tartare $21: 5/5 We got the beef tartare to start. I was a little skeptical because it was raw beef and I've had not very good experiences with beef Tartare. To my surprise, it was really well made. Didn't upset my stomach at all and the taste was phenomenal. The quail eggs exceeded my expectation and the Yorkshire pudding was really well made. Overall no complains. Would definitely get it again because it's such a special dish. Steak and Mushroom Pie $27: 4.7/5 The steak and mushroom pie comes with a big boat of mash potatoes on top. The server will pour the gravy on top afterwards. The presentation was beautiful and the crust of the pie was amazing. The fillings complimented each other really well. Mash potato was to die for, it is a REALLY filling dish. Overall, i loved this dish. Atlantic Salmon $28 4/5 The Atlantic salmon tasted really good with a nice crust. Though, i really wish i ordered something else because it was ordinary in comparison to the others. The sauce also didn't really hit the spot for me. Never less, i finished it because it was delicious. Overall: 4.3/5 A REALLY filling meal for 2. Would definitely come back and try the other dishes like the Rabbit or the Tikka Massala. We wanted to get the sticky toffee pudding but we were full the the brim. The only complaint we had was how we felt kinda rushed towards the end of the night as the waiter handed us our bill immediately after we finished our last dish. While i understand its important for table turnovers, we also didn't see anyone waiting outside and there were some empty tables, and it wasn't even that late (8:11pm) we arrived at 7:15 for our reservation. What drew me in was the presentation and "Alice in Wonderland" vibes which had me wondering if the taste matched its cool presentation. Beef Tartare: This was done differently than what I'm used to. It sort of reminded me of my egg salad as I add pieces of chopped up tangy pickles. The scotch quail egg was full of flavor and the batter outside was crunchy, and I wished it came with more. Roasted bone marrow: The fact that they didn't cut the bone lengthwise is beyond me. It came with these carving spoons to dig into, but the marrow hole was too small to fit the spoon. There was also very little marrow in what we could scoop out, it barely covered 2/5 pieces of sourdough toast which was a waste since the sourdough was crispy and delish Braised Lamb Rigatoni: Our server (who was very nice and attentive) raved about this dish so we tried it out. The lamb ragout was unbelievably salty and the texture of the lamb was finely minced and we forgot it was lamb Steak & Mushroom Pie: Nice presentation and execution, the flavors were okay but I couldn't quite distinguish between the steak and the mushroom. Also I guess the gravy poured ontop made made the pie soggy. The beef tartare and scotch egg were definitely the highlight of our meal. Not sure if it's still COVID and they are under-staffed. We flagged a waitress down from another section to get our server to order our meal. We had oysters, salmon, and steak & fries dish. Oysters were fine. The fish portion is bigger than we anticipated. My friend barely finished it. My tenderloin - it was sooo salty but we had a game to catch so I didn't say anything.
