This review is long overdue! A few weeks ago, while attending Kingsborough Community College, I had a craving for steak and discovered Wow Bistro as the closest spot that caught my interest. Instead of studying in the campus library, I decided to do my homework here, and it turned out to be quite the experience--who needs a library when you can dive into a ribeye steak while working? Haha! The atmosphere was very relaxing, making it easy to focus on my studies while enjoying my meal. I ordered the ribeye steak, and though I can't remember the name of the side dish, it had an incredible texture--something with potatoes that was absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic, and the staff treated me wonderfully throughout my visit. Overall, I had a great experience with no complaints. Highly recommend!

The Salo Platter alone can be a reason to visit this cafe, not to take away from the other dishes which were made to perfection! The eggplant tower and the octopus salad were delicious! The fish and lamb were buttery smooth! The steak was the perfect medium rare! The service is amazing. The staff is very welcoming and ready to accommodate any desire. The place itself has a very home like feel which makes this a place I would recommend and visit again!

Let me start by saying that their customer service is top notch! Their delivery driver, a sweetheart, who delivered right on time. I love their variety of breakfast foods, as well as lunch/dinner. I've ordered desserts from here too. Everything is prepared fresh, made to order, and the presentation is superb. Great treat to spoil self! They go above and beyond to provide cutlery and sauces, without an additional fee. Lovely local spot for both delivery and dine-in.

    Smoothie really good!

Love this place. Always so nice. Atmosphere is great. No one rushes you. Food is great too. We ordered omelets which are amazing always.

    Chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes

They have large portions of food. I got the tuna melt which essentially comes with 4 large pieces of bread/rolls, piled high with tuna, cheese and tomatoes cut into 8 slices and it comes with fries. It is humongous and eating 2 pieces and some fries is so filling - all for like 13 bucks. Hubby got the chicken schnitzel, which was another hefty portion with mashed potatoes. My husband liked it, but thought it could use some salt overall. I had it once before and it was yummy. I will try this place again, especially since it's so close to where we live now.

This place is always packed weekend right and I know why! Food is amazing, a bit of French and Russian I think, and a lot of their own personal touches. Convenient Boyb, affords banquet style setting available. My grandmother and I had a decision tuna tartare, guacamole and shrimp dip, spring salad, seafood crepe, and lamb shank. Took a lot to go, couldn't finish it all, it was worth every bite! Call to reserve if your going to plan for dinner.

Since covid-19 quarantine started i know how hard is for food businesses to survive. I decided to Order delivery frim local restaurant WOW CAFE!: I ordered Cheeseburger, (medium well) without Onions, because i have allergies. On the side I choose sweet potato fries! But my burger's patty (meat) was raw! I couldn't eat it and tossed to garbage! Also They put onions inside And instead of sweet potatoes fries they put regular French fries! Final one everything was very cold! Can you feel my reaction now after waiting 1 hour for delivery ! I uploaded all pictures that I'm writing truth!

Came with friends for sunday night dinner. All food was served fresh and delicious, service efficient. No alcohol but you can bring your own. Definitely a good place to eat.

    Fried Calamari. Meehhhh.

Nice little spot about a mile from the Sheepshead strip. Food was decent. Waiter worked the entire restaurant by himself; no easy feat Kudos to Slava. He was polite and very professional. Calamari had absolutely no seasoning. Seafood pasta was ok. Branzino fish and mashed were really good as was the Greek salad. Homemade fruit punch made me want to take home a gallon or two. Staff took temperatures and wore masks but patrons going to facilities didn't wear them, which I found a bit disturbing.

Pastrami Eggs Benedict, 3 eggs fries and salad Salmon Eggs Benedict - 3 eggs, fries and salad So worth it for the price!

Affordable prices and big portions!!! Worth visiting! Our server was super polite and the interior of the restaurant was decorated for the holidays :) would definitely come back! Also easy parking in the area

Used to love this place so decided to have my birthday here. They refused tap water since it was a "party" and only served bottled water. I'm pretty sure that's against New York State Law to refuse tap water and was very annoying. Service was bad and it was almost impossible to catch a waitress. Also, we ordered our tuna rare and they served it well done. One night changed my mind from five stars to three stars. Won't be going back for a while.

The fried calamari was delightful. The batter was not too thick, nor was it oily or to salty. The creamy mushroom dish was surprisingly very delicious. It has a creamy texture and well seasoned. All of the entrees we ordered were delicious. It is a dry restaurant, so no alcohol can be purchased but you can B.Y.O.B. (Bring your own bottle). So we did enjoy our food with drinks. The downside is there is no parking designated for this establishment. The community itself is pretty busy so it did take over 30 minutes to find parking. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

$17 for a steak salad and it's only half full! Shocked since we used to love this salad in the past and it was always a full portion.
    Regina G.

We used to love WOW cafe for take out dinner but the past few times we have been disappointed and this was the last straw. I think $17 is quite pricey for a salad, even if it's skirt steak salad, but we loved it so we kept getting it. Well this time, the salad was flavorless and half full! So disappointing. We also ordered the shrimp guacamole which was average and sweet potato fries which were also quite average, the top ones were salty whereas the bottom didn't get any salt. With so many different options in the neighborhood, I think we are done with WOW for now. It used to be amazing but is now quite average.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.

We ordered the egg katsu sandwich and the eggs rothko. The sandwich was very well made with a nice crisp panko crusting that didnt feel heavy on the oil, and yet still managed to have a light airy egg inside. The eggs rothko was buttery and flavorful but still managed to not feel too heavy. The broiled tomatos on the side were a nice touch to contrast the egg and toast from the main dish.
