This is my go-to nail salon, although, I have not been here for a year! I am just now writing a review because I am new to yelping. Anyway, I live about 20 minutes away so driving here is definitely worth it! I was a loyal customer because I used to work next door, but I do plan on making this trip soon.. If I am just walking-in, there is always a nail technician available. I usually get acrylics ($28) and I prefer to choose my nail techs: Cici or Sophia! :) LOVE their work! If I want a certain nail shape they'd give me exactly that! and I'm usually indecisive about the nail color I want (I'm sure any other girl can relate) but they are very helpful, I highly recommend them! This is one of the best nail salons for the value in the DMV area. I work in D.C. but live in Herndon and after plenty of horrible experiences (which were expensive) in D.C. I figured I would try this salon as it was cheap and would PROBABLY do a decent job. I requested CiCi (based off the Yelp reviews) and got Annie. There was modern family on TV so I didn't mind that she wasn't very talkative. Also she was incredibly precise with her work so I didn't expect her to talk as well. When I asked for an extra cost she was very nice and did it. 24 days later (more than 3 weeks!) I went in for a fill. The polish was still beautiful and bright white, no chips and my nails hadn't popped off but my nails were grown out. I am absolutely so pleased with this salon and with Annie's work. The shop was clean, the space was a good size for a nail salon, I watched all of the utensils come out of sanitary packaging and all of the employees were super pleasant and friendly from the time I walked in. So amazing! I had recently moved here from Baltimore and was in desperate need of new nail place. I called the day of and was able to get squeezed in with Sally who was phenomenal! I got SNS on my natural nail bed (no tips) had her do a light almond shaping and she nailed it! She was so patient as I took forever to pick out my many colors and she even matched my SNS color for my toes in regular polish perfectly! And the price was so cheap in the end. I'm loyal to this place! Jenny is your girl for anything but especially Designs like a 3D flower. She fleeks everything. You need an appt w her always a few days in advance, gf is gettin her coin! She's very busy. Kim is the queen of acrylics. My beauty educated friend genuinely asked me if the acrylics she did were my real nails. Trust Kim. Annie is very sweet and when I had long nails (they're VERY weak) she took the time to soak off my nail polish and be very gentle and let me keep my long natural nails - she really understood the journey I was on trying to grow them when most would make me cut them. Such a sweetheart. They don't have clear tips but I asked if I brought them if they'd do them and they will. I went to happy nails one time and I was happy with the work but I had to ride the girls ass the whole time to get what I wanted. The people here do not get offended when u ask for what you want whereas happy nails ruined my natural nails and ignored me when I had asked to soak off instead of ripping. First timer tip: It was very crowded and busy. I recommend to make an appointment in advance. - Three technician worked on my pedi and mani separately. I brought a picture and they helped me choosing the right color and material. - For my finger nails, I got some extension with pink ombre powder and marble design. They did an awesome job to make it look like the picture I brought. Though they forgot putting some cuticle oil and hand massage in the end, I gave them credit for completing their job. I was welcomed by the shop manager with a warm welcome and offered straightaway a cold beverage.Than I was seated in a comfort massage chair. I had a pedicure first and than a manicure. Michelle was very friendly and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I had my appointment very late. However, Michelle took her time and worked very thorough on my nails until 10pm despite the shop closing at 8pm. First time I went here I was assisted by Cici and she was absolutely great. Took her time to cater to all of my needs. So I returned and was assisted by a different person. I asked for a liquid gel mani. Im not sure what was going on but the lady who took me in seemed to have a bad day. She was too harsh and plain rude. Didnt even bother to take care of my cuticles, and when i asked for coffin shape she gave me square on some nails and oval on others and my gel coat was too thick. I called and got an appointment the same day and my daughter was walk in. Kim did an absolute amazing job on my daughters nails with a light gray and glittery design. My nails were done by Jenny. She took me right away. She had great attention to detail. She is a true perfectionist. I brought in a photo for inspiration and she superseded my expectations. OUTSTANDING service from start to finish! I was a walk-in and even though they were booked with people steady coming in, they worked on me within 10 minutes. I broke two nails while moving and they fixed it up quickly without issue. The gentleman was super nice offering soda and/or water. He and my technician went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and satisfied. The service was right on point and more. They put two top coats on my gel nails without being asked (some shops tend to only apply one coat). The paraffin and massage treatment was moisturizing and relaxing. I tried Worldgate Nails for the first time yesterday. So far so good!! All the supplies they used were clean. The customer service was great, everyone was so kind. They actually helped you and listened to what you wanted. I went in for just a regular nail manicure and Sally helped me. She was so sweet and did an amazing job. Wow! What an awesome experience. Called on a Friday to set up an appointment for the following day for my sister and I. We arrived exactly at our appointment time and I was seen immediately (full new set of acrylics with gel polish). My sister was seen a few minutes later (acrylic gel fill with line work on accent nails). I had Kim as my tech. She was AWESOME. I've never had a tech understand what I want so well - I really wanted coffin nails and I wanted to make sure she didn't round out the corners. She had such a great professional attitude, and was willing to work with me to find colors I wanted and make suggestions. I've also never had a tech work so fast and so good. There are zero flaws in this mani and it took her just under an hour!!! What?! I'm shook. You can see my sisters nails look great too. I paid $45 and my sister paid $35. Clear instructions from the start were given, too much was taken and when I asked for a couple of loose hairs to be plucked from one eyebrow she WAXED both and the result was both eyebrows are completely uneven and it didn't need to be that way. got my nails here done twice just for an acrylic fill. the first time turned out okay so i was willing to try again because the price is just so good. i went about a week and a half ago for another fill and was thoroughly disappointed. the gel polish was clearly old. as soon as it was fully cured, i noticed bubbles in the polish that can partially be seen in the picture. my gel and acrylic has starting chipping and lifting which i have never had happen after such a short period of time. overall, the polish is messy and the acrylic is weak. won't be returning. read more

She did a fantastic job on my gel manicure, using 3-4 polish coats and wrapping the tips to help prevent chipping. All the techs had great nail art, which is encouraging, and I can't wait to try out a fun design next time. If you are going on a weekend, I highly recommend making an appointment, especially if you want a particular tech. They are extremely busy on weekends, like all salons, since most folks have to go outside their own work hours. But even as busy as they were, they were super welcoming and attentive. I come to this salon because it's a very convenient location. I've tried different technicians, but no one can properly execute the shape or design I ask for . (I show different pictures as a guide.) I feel they don't take their time to perfect your nails instead rush to get a new customer in. Various Nail techs are rude, judgmental, have strong attitudes. This nail shops make me uncomfortable.
