freshly made pillows filled with the dreams of your choosing. Come here. Eat this. Finally after passing this place while driving around town, I came solo with the intention of bring of bring back some for my girlfriend. I ordered the spinach and cheese and the potato. They were hot, I knew this because the nice man said so, also my digits told me but I couldn't wait and inhaled one after the other. The empendas did not make it home, my girlfriend had nada...see what I did there. They have a punch card, I believe its by 10 get a free one. This is not hard to do read more

Wow. I've driven by this place a lot on my way to and from work, and today was the first time I stopped, and I am so mad at myself for not having done so sooner. First off, Matthew the owner was working at the counter and he was very friendly and excited to tell me about the special empanada of the day (Jumbalaya! I wish I was there for lunch!) and I could the sense from him of true pride in his business which is always a good sign. Today I got the breakfast burrito because seeing their sign saying they have it is what drew me in to finally try them. Oh man. I have eaten pretty much every "best breakfast burrito" in Burbank, and they are all in some serious danger from this beast. The crispiness of the tortilla, the layering and blending of the eggs with the meat and potatoes. So, so good, and every bite was full of flavor. I feel like a lot of places use bland potatoes as a way of filling up space to pad their "giant" burritos. Not here, the potatoes had some solid seasoning to them. It's a little more expensive than most of the other breakfast burritos around, at $7.75, but it is also VERY filling. I had to set half of it aside to eat for lunch. I can't wait to go back and try their empanadas. I know it's ridiculous to have gone to an empanada place for the first time and not had one, but this burrito left no room for anything else. read more

Just left this placed super full and recharged ready to fly back home. I bought one of everything so I can taste them all. a total of 18. Mr Hirtz was very accommodating and polite. If you buy 10 you get one free. So far we ate jalapeño cheese, chili con carne, Pinto beans n rice, Nutella banana. Can't wait to eat the rest. The hibiscus tea is good and refreshing. Definitely I'll be stopping by here when I come to Burbank. The only thing is that this place doesn't have a lot of space to sit. read more

Cute small place, but the food is very overpriced. The price of one empanada is close to $4.00. The dozen costs $36.72 plus tax ($40.21) Not worth it. I've tried multiple flavors e.g.: beef, spicy beef, chicken, spinach, ham & cheese and Nutella and I'm sorry to say I didn't really like the taste of their savory empanadas. They all have potatoes and it makes them somewhat mushy inside. Don't get me wrong. I love potatoes. The real reason I didn't really like them is because the crust is not crunchy at all. They're flaky like a croissant. Probably because of how they make them, they're all oven baked and the original Argentinian empanadas I know are mostly fried. I understand the need to serve healthier food. They even have vegan options, but that's not something I enjoy eating. I enjoy grease and taste! For taste and price, go to Alex's meat market. You won't regret it. read more

This place is terrific! Fast, friendly, clean and so much variety!! We called in our order and addd more items when we got there. So good. Love supporting this place! read more

Great empanadas especially when fresh out of the oven! Too bad they're on the pricier side but nevertheless it's really good place to get those flaky empanadas read more

The best empanadas around. I've been eating them since they sold them out of the liquor store on Victory years ago and the quality has never wavered. The chimichurri and hot green salsa are great dipping sauces. read more

FOOD / a bit more expensive than my neighborhood market that sells them, but for mine it was worth it. Chimchurri sauce is yummy to add too. - spinach & cheese: MY FAVORITE, the dough was baked perfectly, flaky and chewy. The filling was so creamy and tasty. Two of my other friends liked this one the best too. - creamy corn: second favorite, it's not super creamy but the corn was still a good level of sweet and tasty. - breakfast: this one was actually my mom's. It was okay, would've been nice to have a little cheese heheh - chicken: nope, my friend got it and let me and another try it. None of us really liked it so not recommended! Besides, for the more expensive price, I would get a special one like the spinach and cheese wink wink - nutella and banana: yum. But I only took a bite, because it was too much for me. But still one to try!! PARKING & SERVICE / there is little parking in the back, but most people ordered to go and were in and out pretty quickly. So parking was not really a problem. Service was quick and they were nice. read more

World Empanadas - SPINACH & CHEESE on top (my favorite!!), and creamy corn on bottom (also pretty bomb) - Latin American Near Me - Burbank, California

Undercooked and overpriced. At first I definitely experienced sticker shock at the $4+ per empanada price point (close to $5 a piece with tax). But I thought "we'll, if they're good then they might be worth it?" I was wrong. We got some meat and chicken empanadas, and they were bland. Just meh. And worse than that... the dough was undercooked! When you bite inside, it's covered in raw dough. That's just unacceptable. And the chimichurri was a joke! 100% watery. Hardly any flavor. Just sad. Next time we'll stick to the empanadas from El Guacho Meat Market in Redondo Beach, which are light years superior, served with *real* chimichurri, are significantly less expensive, and never raw. read more

They have a variety of empanadas and it is always good. I can't say I stay to eat in, but they are wonderful to take home or to work for the day. I like the Santa Fe chicken empanadas and the spicy sauce! Thanks World Empanadas for making dinner, lunch, or brunch so easy! read more

Wow- what a great find! A real hole-in-da wall place- gotta love that- with super delicioso empanadas! The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and even offered me a complimentary sweet in honor of my first visit! So far, I tried the Ham & Cheese- great, flaky crust with lots of tender ham and a zingy cheese sauce. And the beef was tasty too- especially with Chimichurri sauce... Run.....do not walk to World Empanadas. I knew 412 yelpers would not be wrong so I opted to give this place a try and boy am I glad I did. Not only is the food 5 stars but the service and entire staff is delightful. Biggest problem is selecting which empanadas to chose. I suggest taking the dozen special for $31.95 and enjoy them all. Oh yeah treat yourself to a dessert empanda...you will be so glad you did!!;-) read more

I grew up in Argentina, so I wish their empanadas were more like the ones they make in Argentina.

The g-to place for my dose of empanadas. The suasse that come with them add to a perfect combination.

Having just come back from a South America trip, I was craving a good Empanada, and stopped by here because I saw that it had great reviews! The interior is a very interesting design. Clean but quirky! The server was extremely helpful and friendly, and offered me samples of their homemade hibiscus drink and horchata. The empanadas are just a bit bigger than a dumpling, and you're gonna want to order multiple. There are many different types and they all sound amazing so make sure to get a variety! The empanadas were pretty good. Solid 4/5. Street parking available read more

This place is amazing! The empanadas are to die for. We drove an hour and a half to try them and it was worth it. The staff is super nice and the ambiance was a modern take on their native culture, a nice place to sit and enjoy the delicious food. I will DEFINITELY be back and I recommend this place to anyone. P.S. You can even order the food ahead of time from your phone on their app! And they have a card you can use to get a free empanada on your 10th visit. read more

Pretty damn good. Would definitely go back and try dessert options. I had the spicy chicken and the spinach and cheese. That crust is delicious and I feel like anything in there would have been delicious. I've been to another empanada place in valley and there's is a bit better, hence the 4 stars. But if I'm in the area, I'd go back. (Maybe) read more

Oh my! This place is dangerous because the empanadas are addictive. Once you start coming here, you will never stop. I never dined in but I've seen people sitting outside and enjoying their food. This is a tiny place, not for big parties. Their spinach and cheese emanada is amazing with their spicy sauce. The soy chorizo vegan empanada is my number 2 choice. The quinoa and lentil vegan option is my number 3 choice. I can't wait to try their breakfast burrito. I've heard it's massive and can be shared between two people WARNING: don't get their house coffee, really disappointed. read more

I couldn't help but write a review for this place as it deserves more than just 3 stars! This place is located inside a liquor store...yes INSIDE a LIQUOR STORE, but don't let that stop you from checking it out. There is no place to sit at here and the service can be a little slow, but it's not too bad of a wait especially if they already have the empanadas you want out. Otherwise just have a little patience and wait for a fresh batch...it's worth it anyways! Oh, and did I mention, only $2.35/empanada! I tried the santa fe chicken (A+), regular chicken and beef and they were all really good! My friiends also tried the spinach and loved it as well. I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

Stopped in to have empanadas for breakfast. My bf had ham cheese jalapeno and carne con chile. I had ham cheese jalapeno and spicy potato. Everything tasted fresh and hot. I liked the spicy potato best. They also give salsas and chimichurri. We were a little sad they had a sign for aguas frescas but didnt have any. I think they mostly do take out as there is not much seating. We did eat ours there and had a nice chat w one of the owners. Definately want to go back and try more empanada flavors! read more

Just did a little impromptu EMPANADA Friday celebration at the office. What a delectable treat; I did a melody of all the flavors. Nothing left in the box, we devoured them in no time. Friday's special empanada with meat, rice and raisins was really tasty. The owner was cute and told me about the Ladies Night out event that they frequent; last Friday of the month in Burbank (on Magnolia near Pinocchio's Restaurant). Food Trucks and Live Music - I'm gonna hit it tonight. Totally recommend them; their Empanadas are out of this World! read more

I've had every empanada they have to offer, they're all great. My favorites are the spicy potato, the corn, and the dulce de leche empanadas, but honestly I love all of them. Do yourself a favor, order and just get one of each. If you ask, they'll label the types right on top of the box. Easy breakfast and lunch for days! Found this on yelp last night. Needed a fast plate of food to bring to a xmas dinner and I didn't want to stop by the long line at Porto's. Service was helpful and fast. I was sad after finding out that Costco gas in Burbank is closed for renovations after driving there in the heat. Since I was in the area, I thought I'd finally stop by World Empanadas (which has been bookmarked for a few months now). I found free street parking a block away and walked over. The interior has an ordering section and a pick up section and a few table tops and 2 countertops for sitting. There was a line when I went (prime lunch time) but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered 6 empanadas- 2 beef, 1 chicken, 1 spinach and cheese, 1 corn and 1 breakfast. They also have a salsa/sauce bar so you can get your own chimichurri sauce to go. They also have a lunch special- 2 empanadas, a drink and side salad/soup for $9.95 which sounds like a nice deal. Unfortunately I already had a drink so I nixed that. It only waited about 10 minutes for my empanadas to be ready. It's pretty quick because they are premade. I took it home and devoured it with my sister- and I just enjoyed my breakfast empanada today. I will definitely be back for more- I want to try the sweet empanadas! read more

Oh my goodness. These empanadas might be the most amazing I've ever eaten. My mother and I came to try two or three empanadas and loved them so much that we decided to order a dozen for the rest of our family to try. The spinach and cheese empanadas are amazing; I wish I lived closer so I could eat them everyday. My mother tried the breakfast and corn empanadas and those were just as great. They have many options (even vegetarian ones). Let me tell you, you will not regret trying World Empanadas. Amazing! I will be coming back to try more flavors. read more

I decided to stop by this place during lunch. What a nice surprise. The place is tiny but quaint. The staff are very friendly. However, the empanada is the main reason one comes here. My wife and I had the meat, chicken, creamy corn and the ham cheese empanadas. They were good! The crust is delicious. We liked the creamy corn and ham and cheese. The chicken was OK but the meat's flavor was bland. Not even the chimichurri made it better. All in all, this is a great little place for empanadas. My wife and I plan to come back. read more

I love coming to world empanadas for lunch. So far my favorite empanada flavors are the spicy chicken, spicy potato and cheese and ham and cheese. The tortilla soup is really good too. You can tell by the reviews the food is great. They are also explained very clearly what the ingredients are, when I was there, because I have several diet restrictions. Here comes the AMAZING customer service part. I bought almost 20 empanadas because I live about and hour away and got the "take and bake" empanadas. I realized I forgot to get the cooking instructions or I dropped them somewhere. I then emailed them at a little after 10pm tonight a got a response within 5-10 min with the "detailed" baking instructions! There's lots of good eating places in Los Angeles County but rarely will you fine such good customer service and a great staff. Thank you!!! One last note. If you buy the "take and bake" get some ready to eat heated ones also. It's very hard to drive that far and not eat a couple of them read more

World Empanadas has a great selection of vegan, vegetarian and meat based empanadas, they hit the mark for flavor and texture but they're overpriced for the size at $3.40 a pop. Oddly, the vegan and vegetable empanadas are the same price as the meat ones. Street parking only. Parking on Magnolia can be tricky, try a side street. The dine-in atmosphere is lacking, cold small utilitarian dining room. Recommend to grab and go. read more
