I didn't know that they had Ubatuba in Burbank. Well, now I know. When I happen to be around this area and craving some delicious Açaí bowls, I know where to go. Walked in yesterday at 6:25pm and got a nice, pleasant greeting from Chelsey. Even though the name of the employee on the receipt said Ariela. Scoped out the entire place and it was just spotless clean with a parking shared with many other businesses. No public restrooms. There was another employee cutting some fruit in the same place. I opted for my base as Açaí with 3 toppings: mango, strawberries, blueberries, and a touch of drizzled chocolate syrup ($12.50). I asked for Raspberries and Chelsey said they don't have it. That's too bad. The size of the cup that I got was small and actually looked medium to me. They had different sizes of cups. They have many different toppings and dry toppings, variety of syrups, and indoor and covered outdoor seating. I ate inside. The place is so cute, quaint, nice decor all around. I got the large açaí base with lots of toppings, including bee pollen and goji berries, and my friend got the large half agave coconut base and half açaí base with strawberry, bee pollen, and honey drizzle. The açaí itself is extra thick, which we loved. You choose your base and then get unlimited toppings, which is kind of amazing and everything tasted super fresh. I've been a longtime lover of this place, easily over a decade. They've never missed for me, always fresh, delicious and a perfect way to get in lots of delicious fresh fruits, vitamins and healthy fats. I'm finally writing a review because they've FINALLY introduced a zero sugar option which means I can enjoy it even more frequently than I could before. The Acai Zero base was a surprise to me as I'd had to cut back greatly on how often I was going due to my need to start lowering sugars and be more mindful of my sweets intake. I cannot say enough good things or how happy I am to find this base is an option and, it tasted good, which isn't always the case for zero sugar substitutes. While I can't find exact macros for the base, I can venture to guess it's significantly lower in everything compared to the full sugar acai base. Paired with coconut and chia pudding bases, all the fresh fruit and nuts, I not only feel better finishing a bowl, but my body thrives better and that's a huge win for me! Dare I say Ubatuba has the best Acai bowls in town, maybe even all of LA? The ingredients are fresh, delicious, quality and the service is always very good, quick and efficent. You have plenty of options for bases and even more for toppings. They also have empanadas which I have yet to try but look forward to. There's plenty of seating outside and some seating inside. Nice decor and most importantly they have a water dispenser which is so appreciated. It's pricey but totally worth it and I'm sure its on par with other Acai bowls around, maybe even more affordable then other places as they don't charge you extra for chosing multiple bases. I just say it's pricey because a small is $12 and costs as much as lunch in some places.
