I've been coming to Boba Loca for years, and one of the things I really appreciate is the consistency. The same guy has been behind the register all these years, and he's always so nice, friendly, and attentive. It's nice to walk into a place where you recognize the person taking your order and you know you're going to get good service. There's a new Boba Time in Burbank, but honestly, I'd still rather come here. I prefer ordering my drink from an actual person rather than having to place my order through a kiosk. To me, that personal service makes a difference. And as far as the drinks go, I personally think Boba Loca's coffee, milk tea, and boba taste better than Boba Time. This is the only place that I know have Grape slush as an option and they always have my Green Apple slush. I been coming here for a while and they never disappoint. Just be aware that if you pay with card then the price is a little higher than when paying with cash. The older man is always there so I believe he is the owner and he's very nice. I got their churro here once as well when I was with my friends and it was alright. This is the best neighborhood boba shop. I've been to tons and this is my favorite by far! Not corporate, feels like your neighborhood spot. Homey, welcoming, comfortable, genuine. A great, safe place to chill, do work, doodle (as you can see by the hundreds of drawings on the wall made by customers! Lots by professional animators and artists who work in the industry nearby.) However, I haven't told you the best part by far yet. Truly, the best part of Boba Loca is Miguel. You'll know him by his smile, his friendly "hello!", and his warmth. Miguel is everyone's favorite and I am no exception. Find caricatures of him on the wall labeled "Boba King!" because he is! He can make any drink you want - he is so gracious to customize any item to fit your needs and he has been there for over 20 years I believe!!! He is truly a gem and I could give all 5 stars just for him. However, the milk tea and boba are also the best I've had - perfectly cooked pearls, delicious milk tea that is not watered down. 100/10. Service was also quite fast and friendly with all of their lovely fan/local drawings posted to their wall which creates such a heart warming environment. I normally order the watermelon slush but today went with the horchata frappe with plain boba and it was super delicious and not over powerling sweet like other both places nearby.
