My experience here always felt crowded. I only came here about 4 or 5 times because when I went there (not to many boba shops in Burbank) 8 years ago was only because there was no variety of boba shops. I always orders honeydew slush. Boba Loca is located in the downtown area of Burbank. It is a pretty busy area, so they were pretty packed. It is not a good spot to hang out or relax, since it was cramped/packed and pretty loud inside. I tried their jasmine milk tea with boba and I thought that it was a bit too floral to my liking and on on the sweeter side. Honestly, the long line and wait times was not worth it. Maybe they are not known for their jasmine milk tea because there were a lot of other Yelpers who complained about that particular drink. read more

I will be honest, based on the original looks of this place I was expecting the most mediocre boba. BUT looks can be deceiving and indeed this was the case. The staff was training a new worker and they did amazing! Got my difficult order correct AND was super friendly and understood the menu really well. I got the funnel cake and it was the first time I actually enjoyed one! It had toppings I like and it was much cheaper than I was expecting(only 6$) they had so many toppings to choose from and I loved that I could customize it. I also tried their matcha and it was really good as well! If you're going here to get boba they give you a good amount and their pearls actually taste good. The only downside is the place is a little narrow and at night they don't allow indoor seating but there's a free parking lot right around the corner so it works out! read more

Stopped by this boba place on our way. Not our first time here. We really like their coffee frappe & lychee drinks. This time we wanted to try something different. They are following all the safety measures. With only one customer allowed to enter a time, they bring your order out to you. The cashier was very patient in explaining their drinks to us. There is an BBQ place & an Indian place on either side of the boba place. Due to only outside sitting allowed in these times, it does get clumsy. They do get your order done very quickly. Our order was done within 6 minutes. We ordered their:- Brown sugar milk tea with boba- It was a decent drink. The boba had a strong flavor of tea coming from it, which was leaving an after taste. I have had better. Lavender milk tea with boba- This drink was suggested to us by the server as their best selling. It was an ok ok drink. The boba was good. Overall the best thing was that none of the drinks were overly sweet, they had good amount of boba & not excessively filled with ice. Would I bookmark this location if I had a yearning for boba while in the area!? PURCHASE Regular Size Mango Slush w/Boba ($4.50 CASH): For only $0.50 more I should've gone large; what was I thinking!? Anyway...it had a nice natural-esque mango taste and not overly sweet but no real bits, there was some slight iciness (i.e. actual small frozen pieces) with the slush but not overly cold, and many chewy but not hard boba balls that didn't get stuck together in the straw. There were no TVs nor did I remembered if there was any backgroound music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Burbank's Boba Loca treated me just fine with its sweet mango slush and large pile of near-perfect boba balls at the bottom of my cup. I did have any high expectations regarding the service as long as they had a demeanor, got my order right, made a good drink, and sent me on my way quickly. There were plenty of flavors and drink selections you could've poured over, so the combinations were daunting. I was really put off by the $0.35 price difference when you paid with cash versus credit card (this nickeled-and-dimed shit must stop...seriously!). The location for this boba place is great! Right on San Fernando so it makes it really convenient to go have dinner at one of the restaurants nearby and then stop here for dessert. The place itself is not huge, but it does have a few tables and seating. They don't have air conditioner, only a fan, so sometimes it can get reallyyyy hot and gross inside! But who would want to sit inside anyways with so much to see in San Fernando? The owner is very nice, I wonder if he ever gets a break because every time we come he is working lol. They have a lot of flavors for the teas and bobas. Some of them are ready made and you can sample them. I favorite ones are Taro, Thai Iced Tea, Tapioca and Honeydew! Unpleasant experience. My husband and I were in the area and were looking for something to snack on. We were walking by and saw this place had bobas but also the famous Korean mozzarella corn dogs. My husband had never had one so we decided to go in to grab on for him to taste. We order a coffee boba and the corn dog as well as a water bottle. About 5 min after I placed the order, it was ready. The guy who did it handed my corn dog to me and I was already not impressed. It looked tiny and def a frozen kind you can find at Costco. Well it Ake a bite and it was frozen inside still. Horrible. I walk over to the counter to tell the guy that it was frozen. He apologized and said he would drop it back in the oil. Which made me concerned bc I already took a bite... I wanted to make sure I would be getting a brand new one. So I ask the lady in the front and he stepped in and said no problem for sure he would give me a new one. I see him open a frozen corn dog and then he comes out to put a timer on and then apologizes. I said it was fine I just want the corn dog. By this time we get the boba. It was good. Time goes on and I get the feeling the corn dog is going to be burnt this time around since the timer went off and the guy was still doing a different order instead. We finish the entire boba drink and still waiting on the tiny corn dog. Finally this guy comes up to me and starts to give me a whole complicated story as to why my order isn't ready. Something about him taking them out of the freezer to defrost but the one he did for me wasn't defrosted or something. I heard the timer go off so my bet is he burned it. Look I get things happen and people are young and learning but this dude had to be at least I. His mid thirties. I don't understand what was so difficult about making the corn dog. At this point I'm beyond frustrated and I asked him to just give me a refund. He's issues my refund and then had to explain to the lady in the front why he was doing so. Grabbed some boba from here after having lunch at the sushi place next door. This place has some tables and chairs to sit on and had a decent size menu ranging from milk teas to smoothies. Decided to go with a coconut milk tea with boba to share with the boyfriend. There was no one at the register, so I waited a bit before hitting the bell on the counter. We didn't have to wait too long for our drink to be done. I really liked how it wasn't too sweet, the boba was real soft, and you can taste the coconut in the drink without overwhelming the original milk tea flavor. read more

A nice spot for a quick Boba in the heart of DTBB. Excited to see what they will do with their interior space when the pandemic restrictions are back to normal, but the outdoor seating is nice enough if you're grabbing a tea with a friend or a date. As of this review, they're still wearing masks indoors and there's no indoor seating... yet. I can't speak for the food items on the menu, but the tea menu is extensive, and there's something for everyone on here, even for the Boba newcomer or someone interested in a non-Boba drink. I find their tea itself can be a little on the sweeter side - I know other local competitors will ask you how sweet you want it, and while it's not advertised or listed, I'll ask if they can do that next time I'm in. I usually go here on weekends, and the service is fairly quick and friendly. With plenty of FREE parking options and bus stops nearby, it's pretty easy to get to, and can be a great pit stop from shopping nearby, or a casual hang on its own. If you're in the neighborhood, Boba Loca is worth checking out. read more

This place is extremely EXPENSIVE. Plain large jasmine tea with mango and lychee jelly is $5.50 (no boba). The same Boba Loca in Manhattan Beach location charges $4.50 for the exact same drink. I love this tea and it's absolutely delicious if you request for less sugar. But honestly it's once in a while purchase. Unfortunately this is the only boba place in the area. Service from the owner is not the best but the guy behind the drinks is always super nice. If you're looking for boba in the area, this place is it but beware of the prices. read more

I guess you can call it my boba addiction and this place pretty much makes it easier for me to get it. Parking- is street parking or you can also park in the structures. FREE! The actual place is quite small and if the line gets long, it becomes really crowded. They have tables and chairs, but like everyone else has mention it is pretty loud inside so this would not be the prime spot to actually get some homework/studying/work done. They do have a computer, not sure if it's free. They also sell couple of treats, but by the looks of it no one has touched/bought any. The staff has been friendly and also helpful. As far as my boba recommendation. I definitely would try honeydew milk tea. It is pretty sweet. If you're looking for a more savory type, then try the red bean milk tea. ** If you have any cool artwork, they have a board where you can post your art! They have a couple great ones. The actual boba was an epic fail. Squishiest and slimiest boba I've had to date. It was so bad I had to throw it out. This place has zero ambiance. There are advertising flyers all over hell and back, the walls need a fresh coat of paint and the seating isn't comfortable. This place needs a serious makeover. Yeah, I know you have your lease payment to make, but how hard is it to pick up some paint and slap a couple coats on. You have free wi-fi and that's about the only plus I saw while I was there.
