So glad that yelp led me to this spot! Came in for a quick morning snack and tried the Biscuits and Gravy and the Santa Fe Chicken. Both were excellent and I loved the salsa bar. Can't wait to return and try more flavors! There is a bit of seating, we came during an off time of day so easily found a spot in their counter seats. It was fun to see a little bit of the kitchen from where we were seated and see how the empanadas are put together. Service was quick and employees were friendly. Easy street parking available right out front. read more

Tasty empanadas! Cute little place inside with high table seating. Street park available. Great for take outs read more

Awesome food and great service! It was a hot day despite being in the covered patio in the back, but despite that the hit empanadas were super yummy and the dipping sauces were great additions. read more

This place is FIRE! They have options for everyone, and I am so glad they had some vegan choices (Four flavors I believe). My wife and I really enjoyed the beans/rice one, and I also had the quinoa/lentil flavor. Perfectly cooked and the flavors explode. If you are in the area and want something quick and amazing, this is the go to! Simple and easy. P.S. - they have dessert options too! read more

Negative stars. I was a loyal customer. no more terrible service. TERRIBLE!!! NOW YOU HAVE TO ORDER ON AN APP. I was waiting to order once the guy in the window decided to take time and help me ( note : no one was in line) he tells me I have to download the app and wait because he cannot take my order. Wtf is he on the window for. HE COULD HAVE TOLD ME I NEED AN APP WHEN HE SAW ME STANDING. NEVER COMING BACK !!! read more

These were some of my favorite empanadas in LA until they reduced their menu drastically. I would say it was because of COVID but they made this decision prior to the pandemic. I checked back today to see if they'd added any of their popular flavors back and they have not. Therefore it is a sad day for me because I will be deleting my app and finding another go-to. read more

I love their empanadas. They have options for almost everyone (including Vegan!!) Great place to drop by for a delicious quick eat and customer service is always amazing. read more

EMPANADAS: The empanadas here are amazing. A true hidden treasure within Burbank. I tried about six different flavors with a friend and all of them were great (the breakfast one, in particular, is really delicious). SERVICE: The service was just as good as the food. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially for a new customer who just didn't know where to start. TL;DR: I'm sure there are better empanadas to be found in Los Angeles, and perhaps the prices here aren't for everyone, but if you're looking for a new lunch spot in Burbank - this is it! read more

Favorite restaurant in Burbank! All their empanadas are delicious, my person fav is the Santa Fe Chicken yum!

Love this place. Service is amazing. I always get them to go so not sure what the in house experience is like.

A bit on the pricy side. The empanadas are good. I tried the chicken and the beef. On the dry side. I prefer the empanadas at another Burbank restaurant 'Buenos Aires' Worth a try. Doesn't quite have that home cooked taste, but good. read more

Soooooo tasty!! Loved the vegan mushroom empanadas the best! I won't recommend the side salad though as it reminded me of food from the cafeteria lunch in grade school. read more

Delicious, made-to-order empanadas in a little family-owned spot off Magnolia, so easy street parking. What's not to love? Just remember everyone else has heard of it too and so keep an eye on your watch if you're taking your lunch break here. It's a good problem - if you're in a rush just order one that's already in the case. So far my favorite is the spicy potato and cheese. And there's chimichurri sauce to go! read more

What a great little place! Daughter and I decided to drop in for lunch on a Saturday. The place was busy but we still managed to get a seat inside, rather than the few seats outside in the sun. There was plenty of choice, daughter opted for the Chilli and a Beef, I opted for the Cheese n onion and a Spicy potato. Wow the Chilli and the Spicy potato definitely packed a hit, so nice to have some spice instead of the usual half hearted "well people don't like spicy so we will make it mildly spicy" that you come across! Loved the Chimichurri sauce too. The staff were very friendly, quick to bring our food out, and came over and talked to us to make sure our orders were right and we were enjoying our food. 10/10 for customer service. Most of the empanadas are under $2.50 and are a decent size so it makes for a cheap but tasty lunch. read more

Really good and surprisingly not greasy. I found my two--the chicken and beef to be very flavorful with a nice bit of spice. My friend had the mixed berry empanada and really enjoyed that it had a nice tartness to the berries and wasn't overly sweet. If only I lived closer I would be heading here more often as opposed to just simply visiting! read more

I stopped into World Empanadas for a little snack on a complete impulse when I saw it driving down the street. Mostly because of the people eating outside, the cool look, and the fact that I love me some Empanadas. I got 2 pies. The cheese and chicken. I was a fan of the flavor of the cheese, but it wasn't that fresh. The chicken one had great flavor was warmer, but there really was not much chicken in it, morose veggies. Regardless, I will be going back and updating here because I want to love this place. read more

Yummy. I don't eat many empanadas, but every time I do, I wonder why i don't eat more of them. Perhaps it's the lard in the dough. Although I can neither confirm nor deny that there is lard in their empanadas (there probably is, that's the traditional way I suppose). In any case, I am a big fan. If I ever have the opportunity to eat every empanada they offer at one time, I'll let you know which I like best, but right now I'm partial to the ones filled with chicken, corn, and mushrooms. Damn I'm hungry right now. p.s. yelp sucks read more

Not a real Chimichurri what makes me sad! The vegan empanada was a very disappointed very plain on flavor! And soup well definitely not a real tortilla soup more like a veggie soup! read more

Fantastic lentil soup -- truly the best I've had. Empanadas, though ... . Maybe my standards are too high. Maybe Mendoza ruined all other empanadas for me. They are totally edible if a little flat -- both texturally and taste-wise. Will certainly go there again. read more

Our last visit to world empanadas in nov 2020 wasn't our best but it wasn't the worst, it was just ok. Our first visit a couple years back in Dec was our best, we ordered the same things and it was sooo good then vs now. We ordered Beef and chicken empanadas, and out of the two we used to like the beef flavored but it just seems more dry then it used to. Same goes for the chicken. Maybe we went on an off day. I don't know but we will try again then next time we visit. read more

We were driving by and thought we'd stop by for a quick empanada. It's a small place. there were quite a few people. got the spicy chicken and the mushroom with cashew cheese. It was so yummy!! After I had that I had to go back and try the Nutella and banana. Omg. Warm and gooey. Just divine. read more

One of my favorite places to eat ever, despite the steadily rising prices. The best part is they have an awesome selection of vegan and vegetarian empanadas. My top favorites are the spicy potato, lentil, rice and beans, and spinach empanadas -- and the creamy corn and dessert ones are good too. The food is always wonderfully fresh and a quick grab and go. I begin to crave their empanadas if I don't have them for a few weeks, lol. read more

How this place has managed to stay open is beyond me. Since BEFORE the COVID 19 outbreak, they have been terrible at take out orders. I fully understand that the pandemic has made it very difficult for small businesses to be able to survive, but as I stated, they were a train wreck before the pandemic hit. The employees really do not have a vested interest in the growth of the company because if they did, they would not be so quick to close whenever something went wrong. And I mean something as small as running out of paper for the receipts! Are you kidding me? When the owner is there, he's trying to get orders out, but unfortunately, I don't think he is very computer savvy. When I call in an order, they take the order, tell me to come by to pick it up in 15-20 minutes and if I am dumb enough to show up in 20 minutes (giving them the benefit of the doubt) it does not matter. I'm still going to end up waiting for another 15-20 minutes for them to figure out how to fill the order correctly. The shame of it all is that they made good food. Absolutely CLUELESS as to how to run a business, I wish I could give them some advice. They are simply in over their heads. I drive past and see their OPEN banner outside, and so I call in to place an order. No answer. The phone rings on end. How in the world are you supposed to order food? And I don't want to hear that you can use a third party to order. I will not be giving my information to one of the multiple different companies that have sprung up for delivery or ordering from. I don't trust them and for good reason. I don't intend on being one of the millions of people who have been fleeced by a third party operating as a means to stream lining a system. I guess the only hope is that the owner hires a professional in the restaurant business to help him turn this mess around. Otherwise, in a very short time, we will be lamenting that nice little empanada place in Burbank that closed from the pandemic. But remember, that's Not why they will have closed. It will be because they didn't care about getting it done right and they ran a good business into the ground. read more

Writing this after I made the mistake today of trying a different empanada place closer my appartment. Never again. They were cold, soggy and poorly seasoned. Basically everything WE is not. Well that $20 lesson was learned. Only going to WE from now on. I'm tossing this soggy dough in the trash and dreaming of the Santa Fe Chicken and Chile Con Carne empanadas that await me on my next trip to the valley. read more

We stopped here on our way to go shopping. OMG this place is bomb. We got six empanadas and immediately regretted not getting more to take home. My favorite was the ham, cheese, and jalapeño. My husband's favorite was the quinoa lentil. Such a treat for some out-of-towners. The atmosphere is open, inviting, and homey. read more

It my favorite Empanada place. We order every week. It's great and the staff and owners are always amazing. We order to take out, delivery and for our parties the mini empanadas which are my favorite. If you haven't tried this place you should. You will not be disappointed. read more

Delicious food! Awesome vegan options - love the beans and rice empanada and the mushroom and cashew cheese. Tortilla soup is really good. Recently I visited and noticed they now offer reusable stainless steel salsa cups for your chimichurri and salsa! Additionally, soup and salad now comes out in ceramic bowls instead of disposable paper bowls. I am so impressed and happy to see a business making these kind of changes for the environment. read more

This place recommends to place orders on-line; so I did with time because it was a large order. I arrived at 5:30pm to pick up my order and it was not ready. The staff hadn't checked the online system they use!!!! So f- en annoyed; the worst part is that they try to lie! Just be honest you're incompetent. To top this off, this being my first and last experience here, Empanadas are flavorless and under cooked; I told the lady NOT to rush it because I wanted my order right. Not worth the $$ and time spent at this place. I don't recommend this shop at all; over price; bad service; and careless. read more

Are sick of cooking? Washing dish after dish? What's the point anyway, it's never ending. I have your solution, take the night off and order World Empanadas! Our family has always been a big fan of World Empanadas, they have a great variety (something for everyone in our family-which isn't easy) and delicious chimichurri sauce. My favorite empanada is the Lentil Quinoa and my husband is obsessed with the Mushroom Cashew Cheese (and he's an omnivore). Now the COVID-19 portion of my review: My family is being ultra-cautious so we opted out of ordering out. It's not easy. But when we discovered World Empanadas Take-And-Bake option, it gave everyone (especially me) a welcome break from cooking. You can order empanadas with the take-and-Bake option online. They even offer curbside pick-up. So you simply drive up and they pop your empanadas with handy instructions into your trunk. It's easy and delicious. There's also frozen options so you can buy dozens and you always have something to toss into the oven. For those of you who aren't "Clorox families" like mine, you can just order and pick-up. There really is something for everyone! read more

Best empanadas in LA. Spinach and cheese is the best one -- also banana and Nutella. The owner is lovely and they have a ton of selection for non meat eaters. The dough is delicious, fillings are filling. Prices are fair. Parking is usually available. read more

I am honestly disappointed with the food quality here! I would come here quite frequently. I had not been here in layout 3 years. I was pretty excited to have ordered them. To my disappointment they were overpriced & the quality is not what it used to be. Not sure if it is a new cook. The soy chorizo empanadas were very salty & the quinoa lentil were bland. I also had the banana Nutella & it was soo watery, pretty gross! I'm really sad because I really liked this place but I will not be going back ever AGAIN!!! read more

World Empanadas is out of this world. They have such a large variety of delicious, flaky empanadas (vegan and vegetarian friendly as well). They have an amazing lunch special of two empanadas, a drink, and a choice of soup or salad for only $8.25. My personal favorites are the creamed corn and the quinoa & lentil empanadas. Also, service is efficient and friendly. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!! read more

It took one empanada! I was there less than 30 minutes ago, came home and had my first empanada (onion and cheese).. my mind is BLOWN. It was so delicious with some coffee, and their chimichuri sauce (also out of this world). It's going to take a lot for me to not go tomorrow before work. Lol. Can't wait to try all of the other ones I bought! (And got helped by the best dressed abuelito I've ever seen) read more

Been here more than a few times now. Food is great. Any empanada you get is going to be tasty you can't go wrong. Soups are great. Pasta is great. Staff are super nice and friendly and are always giving great service. With that being said, I would give it 5 stars. Reason why I'm giving 4/5 stars is because I ordered my food to go. When I go back to work and open it, there was a cricket. Yes you read that right. A CRICKET inside the box my food came in. Having said that, I am writing this review so hopefully in the future this won't happen again. Had it been someone else who had been afraid of crickets, I'm sure that person would lose their mind. Had it been a cockroach or a spider I would never come back here again. But maybe I will. Their food is that good. read more
