This place has the best vegan empanadas! My boyfriend and I got the Mushroom and Cashew Cheese (MC) and Pinto Beans and Rice(PB) both were AMAZING, but the mushroom ones were definitely our favorite. We're going back for a dozen next time! Also all 3 of their salsa were delicious, we appreciate great salsas! Thank you for the great food! read more

Great empanadas, especially the spicy potato ones, I wish the would give better deals when buying fir 2-3 let's be real they are a little pricey. Customer service just ok. read more

YUMMY. I've not had an empanada that I have disliked from this place. Tender, flaky, full of rich savory flavors. They also serve up breakfast versions which are an amazing savior for the next morning! Does wonders for hangovers. The dessert ones are toe curling good. Banana and Nutella? YESSSSSS. I've never eaten onsite, always delivery, and they always come nice and hot! Try them out! read more

I stumbled upon this place like every other restaurant and that was on yelp's Instagram page. Even though I go to Buenos Aires for my empanadas, what stood out to me was the different types of empanadas they had. Compared to Buenos Aires which has 3 types of empanadas (chicken, beef, and spinach), World Empanadas had about 4x more different types. They have chicken, Santa Fe chicken (spicy), biscuits & gravy, breakfast, sweet pastry empanadas, and if I'm not mistaken vegan/vegetarian. Now my experience went fairly well. I went 40 minutes before closing and from what I thought, I thought it was a first dibs type of situation. I saw that they only had a few left on the stand but when I asked about it, they had informed me that they make them upon order which was great! Took about 10 min or so and my order was ready. They packaged and had labeled them so there wouldn't be any confusion. So now for the moment of truth...the empanadas were ok. Overall I did enjoy all of them. If I had to pick I'd choose the biscuits and gravy surprisingly. The chicken one tasted a bit too much tomatoe-y. I do very much appreciate how the empanadas were made to order and how there was more than just 3 types of flavors/styles to choose from. Despite it being eh, I would still come back if around the area to try out the rest. read more

Always great! The breadth of their empanada offerings is matched only by the depth of the flavor. Some great vegan options too. Also, the soup is FANTASTIC. read more

Great service & fair prices. I found this place while on my way to the movies & super glad I stopped in. They have so many options, veggie & vegan too. I ordered the corn & cheese, dulce de leche, biscuit & gravy and the dulce de leche cookies by the register. First of all, those cookies are dangerous! They practically melt in your mouth and that touch of powdered sugar is amazing ... & the empanadas were flaky & flavorful ... Parking is pretty easy, 2 hr parking up and down the street. read more

Gentleman at the register was very polite and welcoming. Empanadas are delish! Santa Fe is my all time fav.

My new favorite lunch spot. Staff is kind and the food is fresh and delicious. Tons of vegetarian options too! The spicy potato and cheese one is my favorite. read more

Great selection. Took a dozen home and they held up great over couple days.

My husband and myself went on a whim and only bought three empanadas to start, (Santa Fe Chicken, Ham & Cheese and Spinach & Cheese). Once we tried these, we got up and bought 4 more (picture attached). They were all sooo good and are so sad we don't live in Burbank to have these everyday. read more

We hit up World Empanadas on the way back to OC from Antelope Valley. Super convenient spot, so I hope to be hungry next time I'm driving through. I love that they have both vegetarian AND vegan options. And not just one sad vegetable option, but several delicious and well thought out options for those of us that don't eat animal products. The empanadas themselves were delicious and for a second we weren't sure how to tell them apart.. then I saw the adorable stamps in the dough that tell you which one is which. Really cool touch. The curbside pickup service was easy and friendly. 5 stars for location, menu, food, and customer service!! read more

Was looking for vegan options in Burbank and this place came up. Went for lunch during the workweek with a non-vegan coworker. They have a great lunch special where you get 2 empanadas, a side, and a drink for about $10. Good deal! Food comes out quickly. There are a lot of empanadas to choose from, including 4 options for vegans (including ones with protein - yay!). They have dessert empanadas, too. I had the pasta salad side and it was excellent. Both empanadas were yummy, too. The fancy hibiscus lemonade was also delicious. There are various dipping sauces available, and we tried a few - there's something for everyone here. There's a bit of seating inside, and a few tables outside along the sidewalk, too. Perfect for workweek lunch - price was right, food was good, and service was fast. We drove over, ate, and got back to the office in less than an hour. We'll be back for sure! read more

This place is a gem! I'm from Miami so I grew up eating empanadas and it's been difficult to find delicious and authentic ones here in LA! I love all the different flavors here but my favorite ones are the Chile con carne and the Santa Fe chicken. Try their delicious green salsa! They also make delicious almond milk lattes! Definitely better than Porto's. read more

Great flavor, friendly staff, excellent value. Pros: + We tried a few flavors and liked some more than others: + Vegan quinoa and lentil was excellent with just the right seasoning and spice. + Chicken empanada was outstanding, we're definitely getting that again. + Beef empanada was very good, although green olives were a little overpowering for some of the other flavors. I'd get it again, my SO would pass. + Spinach and cheese empanada was also excellent with a good texture and flavor. + Price is reasonable, $31 for a mixed dozen of any empanadas you want. Great to bring to a party, they stayed hot inside for a long time too. Cons: - Cashew cheese and mushroom vegan empanada was not our favorite; texture was a little strange. - Dulce de Leche sweet empanada was also just OK; caramel was saltier than I expected, and website said it was "dulce de leche and apple," but there were no apples. read more

They have the best empanadas in the world! Try any of them and they're delicious. Their crust is not doughy, the right amount and baked to perfection. read more

I really enjoyed their spinach empanadas but Im hooked on their tortilla soup. It's something about it that makes it taste so perfect. Thanks to a coworker now it's my go to soup, especially when I'm sick. I look forward to eating here again. read more

My coworkers recommended this place and come here frequently. I decided to give it a shot because I LOVE Peruvian food, especially empanadas. My aunt and uncle owned a few Peruvian restaurant growing up and they had the most incredible empanadas so I tend to be a little picky... World Empanadas did the trick!! I ordered one with spicy chicken and one with spicy beef. The filling and crust were both perfect! Not too spicy for those who don't like it hot. For those that do (like me) they have the best sauces! Don't forget to grab some. read more

This cute little hidden spot is delicious. I found it on a quest for non chain like spots in the area and was pleasantly surprised to find this. Ive tried several of the different varieties and they are all equally delicious. They have a few small tables so could do a sit down if needed but I've always gotten them to go. World Empanadas - Amazing. Try everyone they offer, you will not be disappointed. These are the mixed berry, potato and cheese, spicy chicken and soyrizo. - Latin American Near Me - Burbank, California

Stopped by here to grab something on the way to visit some family. Ordered a couple of beef, chicken, ham and cheese, spinach and feta, berries and Nutella with bananas. I also ordered some chimichurri sauce. They provide small salsas/sauces. We inhaled everything so I didn't get pics of the actual empanadas - I'm sorry. They're beautiful and conveniently have initials in the corner so you can tell the difference! That's so smart! They give you a cheat sheet for the initials so you don't have to try to memorize everything. They also conveniently separated the dessert empanadas from the others. As I waited for my order I sat and people watched. Some people preordered and just came to the pick up window. Some people stopped on their lunch break to pick up a couple of empanadas. Which seems like an affordable lunch and healthier than a fast food option and they're filling and yummy. I parked in the street and there were 2 tables in front to wait for your order. There is no inside option. You just order at the window and pick up at the other window. They accept credit cards and cash. Employees were efficient, friendly and had common sense - great experience! read more

I really wanted this to be good. Sadly, with everything considered, it was not. The spinach and cheese was OK, but the beef was disappointing (lacking in flavor). They do offer quite a variety of fillings, but as far as value for money is concerned - we paid almost $20 for four not-too-large empanadas. . . so no, overall - not worth it in our opinion. read more
