Let's start from the beginning. My wife and I have passed by this place many times and I truly regret not stopping by sooner. I loved my biscuits and gravy empanada as well as the Chili con Carne empanada. My wife had the beef and chicken. Everything had such great flavors. Last, but certainly not least, the Dulce de Leche and the Nutella and banana. I'm updating my review. After years of being a loyal customer and more recently using Uber eats to deliver to me. I can honestly say the quality has dropped dramatically. This place use to be consistent. Now when I order it's a crap shoot if I even get my whole order let alone a sauce. Today I ordered a vegan soup and two vegan empanadas no sauce and more than half my soup is gone. The last time I ordered I was missing a empanada all together. The sauce you receive is whatever they feel like giving you. It's just all over the place. It's really frustrating because they were really one of my favorite places years ago. Love this place! So many different types of empanadas to choose from. We got the beef, chicken, pulled pork (special), biscuits and gravy, creamy corn, and Nutella and banana. The beef one was by far the best one. I recommend it with the chimchuri sauce. The cream corn was pretty good too. Went back here today and had a good experience. Preciado (not sure if I got the name right), was super helpful and patient. He explained what many of the empanadas were. I got the potato and the ham and cheese, as well as tortilla soup, all for my husband. I am mostly gluten free, so I could no longer eat an entire one. I did taste the potato one and it was heavenly. The crust was so light and not at all doughy. My husband didn't like the ham and cheese as much. I asked if they make them gluten free and unfortunately, they don't. Maybe the owner can think about adding it in the future. That would be fantastic. read more

I'm giving them 4 stars just for their empanadas. My husband and I got the vegan mushroom cashew cheese which was good. We also got the so trozo and the pinto bean and all were really good. We decided to order the lunch combo and the soups were not good at all. Both the tortilla soup and the lentil soup were so salty we couldn't eat them. I'm sure with less salt they would be good but it kinda ruined our lunch since we ordered the combo. 2 stars there because they should be tasting the food they serve. 1 star for the service. The girl taking the order was horrible. My husband ordered from the menu and when it was my turn to order she mentioned soups so I asked if there were any others to choose from and she said "ohhh yeah, we have lentil too". Then I asked for the restroom and she point to the back so I went to the back of the store just to find out it needed a code. I went back up and told her and she rolled her eyes and gave me the code. This place was AMAZING!!! Was in Burbank so a friend and I stopped by to get some vegetarian and vegan empanadas. I got the combo meal where you get two empanadas, a side, and a drink. I got the soy chorizo and the pinto bean vegan empanadas, tortilla soup, and the hibiscus iced tea. This was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! Soup was a little spicy for my taste so I took the rest to go but the flavors of everything was on point. The service was impeccable! I asked if we got refills and even though they don't the girl that was working was kind enough to give both of us refills for our drinks :) I am so pleased with my experience here, I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in Burbank. RUDE staff. I Just went to pick up an order. Walked up to the pick up window, the guy opened the little screen, no greeting, no welcome, no confirmation that I was picking up a particular order, the guy just opened the screen, passed out the food in the ledge and closed the window. Ordered $40 worth of empanadas and food and was given a hard time about asking for more chimichurri sauce. They refuse to give me more than four small side of chimichurri and insisted that I pay three dollars extra for a large sauce. How can this be considering that I just spent $40 there on empanadas? Enough seating for about 15 people in the whole shop maybe even less, I didn't see the bathroom sign so that would have been helpful. Then again I didn't ask so signs help. For 9 bucks I got away with 2 empanadas a cold water and a san Pellegrino! Got stuffed and replenished in budget! Great service and didn't wait forever to get my food. That was a plus. We drive by this location each time we are in the Burbank area . And everytime we say we need to stop. Well today was the day . We were able to call ahead and went to pick it up . They have a variety of flavors and food options for you to choose from . We went with the combo which was priced great and filled us up . I got the soy chorizo and Santa Fe Chicken . I this place! I have tried almost all of the vegetarian options and every single one I've tried has been delicious. I've gone before with friends and gotten a box of a dozen to split, but today tried the meal combo where you get two empanadas, a side and a drink. My favorite empanadas I've tried are probably the pinto bean and rice, potato and cheese and Nutella and banana. YUM. Honestly, every single one I've tried has been amazing though. I wish I lived closer so I could come back more often. Today I tried the tortilla soup for the first time and will not be getting it again. It wasn't terrible, but was a little too spicy for my taste (and I am not a super whimp when it comes to spice either). The empanadas are much better so I would just stick to those instead. I also loved the horchata, but apparently they are getting rid of that at the beginning of February. I love that they have a rewards program and I will sometimes get texts with coupons if I haven't gone in a bit. The employees are also always very nice and helpful in labeling your boxes so you know what flavor you're eating once you get home haha. Here's the deal: the COMBO MEAL comes with 2 empanadas , a choice of soup or salad and A DRINK (which I have always chosen to be a HIBISCUS drink, but the app I use only gives me the option to choose SOFT DRINKS) and the app also doesn't let me complete the purchase unless I order an EXTRA drink for $1.00; which I have always chosen a Perrier. (I Really wish the app I use would let me complete my purchase without being forced to purchase the additional $1.00 drink) Today I was confronted by one of the Hirtz family members saying that I cannot take the HIBISCUS and the Perrier because I already paid $1.00 to upgrade the SODA OPTION to a HIBISCUS. He also stated that I am using the incorrect app and the app isn't accurate, I should be using an app of HIS choosing. Whaaaaat??! I completely disagree with that. I have been using the same app and have ordered at least 25 times or more and have never once had a complaint for asking to have my SOFT DRINK be replaced with a HIBISCUS drink. The combo order comes with a DRINK; which I have been choosing a HIBISCUS tea each and every time. The soup is amazing, the empanadas are to die for, the pasta salad is one of my favorites. The food, establishment and service WAS at a five star level until I was confronted in such a negative fashion, making me feel that I am trying to get away with something I haven't paid for; that is inexcusable. read more

Super thin, just the right amount to contain the goodness that lies inside. And they are the perfect size. Tons of flavor. Crust is perfection, taste and flakiness. SO many different kinds to choose from. AND they make fresh pasta too!? Why not!? Tea was amazing. AND they offer a couple different dipping sauces but the chimichurri one is-out of this world! Lastly if you go, they have them hot and ready to eat there, but if you want to get them togo and eat them later, they will sell them to you uncooked. This place is awesome! Got a pile of these for a large group at work and everyone went nuts over them. They were delicious and the presentation is adorable... they imprint initials into each one so there's no question of what your about to eat. That was especially appreciated by our vegetarians. It has been a few years since I last popped in. Before you could sit inside but they changed to just window service with two cute patio tables in front. I expect COVID did that to them. There is street parking in front for pick ups and for getting a quick bite. This area also feels a bit calmer than other areas so I think parking would be ok. I tried their special for the day pulled pork with salsa verde. They were $6 each and packed with meat that was nice and spicy and the crust was thin, flaky and tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't eating a bunch of crust. They also have a small side salad for $3 which was fresh and comes with a lemon vinaigrette.
