I'm gonna be honest - the empanadas weren't that great. The crust had a little too much salt and there wasn't enough meat in the middle. I had the carne asada & the chicken & was not impressed with either. Although this was convenient (a quick snack in 8 minutes or less), I won't be stopping by there again. read more

Short version: We ordered online, it wasn't ready and we waited an addition 45 minutes. Details: We ordered our empanadas online (6 of them) about an hour ahead of time. We arrived and were informed that the order was not ready. We waited an additional 20 minutes just for the cashier to tell us that our order was burned and asked us what we wanted to do about it. His lackadaisical attitude was made worse by the fact that while waiting for our order, several customers arrived, made their orders and received their food (some of which were larger orders as evident in carrying out 2 boxes) within 10-15 minutes. I wasn't expected any discount or free food, just some customer service. Eventually the manager or owner, someone other than the cashier, gave us an apology, we'll sort of. "Sorry about that" followed by "it happens and I guess it happened to you today" does not feel like a genuine apology or great customer service. After being told that our order was burned we got our order about 25 minutes later. I don't know why we were left to wait while others got their food or why we received the shitty attitude. I'm disappointed at their lack of organization, decision making and most of all customer service. read more

Definitely worth the wait!! I ordered 3 empanadas to go: biscuits & gravy, corn, and spinach & cheese. They were all delicious but the corn was my favorite! Perfect crust and perfect fillings. Small little cafe that serves South American coffee and empanadas.  Though it's small inside with limited seating, it looks like most people don't linger here so it's not hard to find a seat at a table or against the wall.  Service is very friendly and the coffee was very good.  They have a limited menu, but a decent variety of empanadas, including vegetarian, sweet, and savory.   I ordered the beef and chile con carne empenadas, which came with their meal combo (2 empanadas, soup or salad, and 1 drink).  They were both very good and perfect for a nice lunch, not too heavy.  Surprisingly, they also offer fresh made pasta which you can order to go, but they don't seem to serve a dish containing that.  Interesting.  I also ordered a capuccino, which came out perfect.   Street parking and friendly staff, good food. read more

I'm so very happy right now. My roommate sent me a text this morning before I emerged from my room. She said she'd brought back empanadas from her breakfast outing with her family. Her brother ordered extra because he knew I'd want some. There were a few spinach ones, a ham and cheese, and some banana Nutella ones - but I don't eat bananas. I was very satisfied with half a spinach and the ham and cheese along with the salad they provided. It was the right kind of spicy for the spice wimp that I am. I was not expecting to have more for lunch! My friend Jake and I just finished our visit to the Jim Henson exhibit at a museum near here. His stomach was starting to eat itself by the time we were done. It was screaming "I need Empanadas!!" And that's how I ended up visiting this place for the first time. Not great not terrible. The service is ok, the food is subpar. They have the dough down but they really need to work on the fillings. Tried almost all variations and they all lack flavor. The ones with meat have a teaspoon of meat and the rest is vegetable or cheese or some other filler. Last time I got a beef and a Santa Fe chicken and neither tasted fresh. The salsas, with the exception of the chimichurri aren't very good either and don't taste right, maybe I've been unlucky and haven't had them when they were made fresh that day. This place isn't exactly cheap either, and for the prices that they're charging people expect better product. Haven't tried their other items like the soups or pastas but I doubt they're any good judging from their empanadas. World empanadas is delicious! We were in the area and had some time on our hands so we decided to check out the best reviewed restaurant near us and BAM World empanadas it is! We ended up getting some unbaked and putting them in a cooler bag to bring home, a couple breakfast and a couple the owner recommended. They have a lot to choose from so you might want to check out their menu beforehand. Parking is definitely a challenge, so if you want your empanadas you are going to have to earn them. read more

I've come here a few times and enjoy their food but I just had the RUDEST interaction with an employee just as I was picking up my food. All I did was ask for my sauces and this younger guy with a beard was SOOOO RUDE for noooooo reason at all. He had the nastiest attitude and two other customers witnessed it as well. Have been a fan since the liquor store days but hadn't ordered in a while and was disappointed. Ordered five and three were burnt with the dough having a leathery feel and taste for all. The fillings also seemed changed, larger and more potatoes and runny sauce. On the plus side, the mixed berry filling was great. OMG! This place is amazing. I don't live in Burbank, I don't like driving to Burbank, but I was waiting for car to be fixed and searched nearby for something to eat and stumbled upon World Empanadas. It was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! I had the cream corn, beef and potato/cheese ones and my husband had the spinach and cheesy onion ones and we were both like, "We would totally drive back up here for these." I can't wait to try the minis next time. Since Covid-social-distancing, they are only doing online ordering through their app, but it was SUPER easy to use and super easy to order. (To the point that I actually asked the owner who built his app.) I found out that you can order them "baked" and eat them right away, or "Take and bake" and make them yourself at home!! We are already making plans for our how to incorporate a stop back here on our way up to Big Bear (which is on the way). Such a great idea and the stuffing is so good because there's something for everyone! The biscuits and gravy empanada was delicious as well as the potato and cheese! I just wish the empanadas came individually wrapped because they begin to absorb the flavor of the others inside the same box. First time here, ordered one beef empanada, two breakfast burritos. When I was ordering, the cashier lady seemed impatient with me when I was ordering my burrito. I asked for two beef breakfast burrito when I got it wrong because there's only sausage and bacon burrito, her attitude changed and was was annoyed with me. She didn't offer me if I wanted bacon, sausage or combo burrito. Very unwelcoming feeling. Sad that that's the attitude she has representing this place. The workers working with the food was very pleasant and nice. She needs to changed her attitude especially helping people who come here. You never know if it's their first time at this establishment. It's funny how I read some of the previous reviews, it seems that previous customers had the same unpleasant experience with the cashier. I wonder if it's the same lady. But it is a shame that someone like that getting paid to be unpleasant and rude to customers. To the cashier lady: You applied for the job... Represent the establishment! So...I know many of you don't know this - but, besides being a well-received Food "Enthusiast" & "Tasty Grubbage Finder", I am also an Executive chef, a Certified Nutritionist, and a professional masseur - I am also a Thespian. So...I had just left an audition for a new series when I decided to drive around a bit since things have changed in Burbank since I trolled the streets for drinks & eats! As I was driving up and down Magnolia I came upon this little ditty - World Empanadas. The word "world" intrigued me as the scope of it promised flavors from...well...the world. As it turns out it wasn't REALLY that - but, they were TASTY!!! The staff was friendly. The flavors I decided on were the following: BF = Beef CH = Chili Con Carne SF = Santa Fe Chicken CK = Chicken DL = Dulce De Leche SY - Soy Chorizo I will say this...these are the best Empanadas I've ever BOUGHT!! Well seasoned. Tasty ingredients. Served HOT! Will I recommend this spot? Absolutely. I would NOT recommend the Chili Con Carne as the flavors were okay - the texture and mouth-feel were off-putting. Trust. The Soy Chorizo was tasty as well - but it too was strangely too mushy. Now, I KNOW how this happens - it's not cooked properly. I do not mean the proper temp wasn't reached. The proper texture wasn't reached. Again. Just my professional opinion. To the management - how about mixing the Soy Chorizo w diced potatoes? It'll add texture as well as absorb some of the oils...and flavors? And...it will drop the price point. Something to consider? All in all a very tasty HAND PIE. This grubbery is small. They have one communal table that seats 4-5 inside. THAT'S IT! They have a few tables outside on the side walk. Parking is going to be a challenge for anyone opposed to walking a few blocks! Burbank Blvd or any side street has free parking. READ THE SIGNS! I didn't check out the bathrooms. It looked like a working business. The empanadas were amazing!!! I got the beef, breakfast empanada, and the chile con carne which was a little too spicy for me. However, I know it's just my own taste buds cause my friend didn't think it was too spicy. My tolerance might just be low when it comes to spicy food. All in all, it was delicious and filling. I will definitely come back for more. The price is a bit on the high side but it makes sense when you see the size of the empanada with their name embedded on each pastry. My first time trying this place! I got the Pinto Bean and Rice Empanada, the Santa Fe Chicken Empanada, the Nutella Banana Empanada, the Vegan Tortilla Soup, and The Tropical Iced Tea. The Bean and Rice Empanada was very good, the Santa Fe Chicken Empanada was good, but something was a little off about it, the Nutella Banana Empanada was absolutely delicious and amazing, as was the tortilla soup!!! I will have to keep coming back when I'm out to Burbank to try all of them!!! I have been on the search for empanadas for many years. I was in the area and decided to try this place which was listed as one of the top ten empanada places in LA. I bought the chicken, been and quinoa/lentil. They are premade and baked. There is a huge menu of different stuffings. The quinoa and lentil tasted amazing. I couldn't wait to eat it so I ate it while I drove home. It has aromatic flavorful spices. I put the two in the fridge overnight and reheated in the oven. The chicken tasted amazing. It was flavorful and had a lot of meat inside. They are so delicious. Parking in the front on street. There's seating inside and they offer coffee and beverages too. I will definitely come back to try other flavors. Price point is good because the Ingredients are plentiful inside. They aren't oily or greasy like other places and they taste homemade.
