Just heard as I was watching the Korean Drama that Woorimart has a closing sale! Probably because of low sales, but they were there for years. Over the years I have gotten a bed quilt, little gadgets and a lot of household items. They have a wide range of items from Korea. Not too many places carry many products from Korea. Some items might be pricey compared items you may find at Daiso from Japan. Korea products are well made. I'm not sure when they are closing, but I want to shop one more time before they close. They have a sale so perfect time to check them out if you haven't been there! It's on Beretania Street on the right side between Kalakaua Avenue and Makiki St ! It's in an old car repair place. Terry K. wanted to buy some tea cups for an upcoming Yelp UYE, and we had time after lunch so I offered to take her to look at some places where they might be sold. She had gone to Daiso on Piikoi but had heard that they recently opened a location downtown on Hotel Street. So off we went. After finding parking on Bethel Street, we walked a couple blocks mauka and spotted the new store. Terry found a few tea cups but needed more. Next we drove over to the Daiso on Piikoi where Terry had purchased a few cups recently, hoping they had restocked. No such luck. So we drove over to Woori Mart which is a Korean home goods store. Neither Terry nor I had been there before but it has great street frontage visibility on Beretania just past Kalakaua Avenue, so when Terry said she wanted to look there, I knew exactly where it was, despite the strange name. The store has ample parking on the right side of the driveway as you enter the property. IIRC, that warehouse used to house an auto dealership in the glory days of auto sales. Now it houses a Korean version of a mini IKEA. There were no customers in the store when we got there and I had an eerie feeling in the virtually empty store like we would be rushed by zombies from the "Train to Busan". Happy that the zombies were not gnawing on our legs, I still maintained my alertness because the strong vibe continued. We acknowledged, then ignored the two employees as they ignored us, but I still kept them in my peripheral vision while Terry milled around the aisles for her vials. Yups, her cups. And then it happened. The conversation between the two employees became a little agitated and their voices climbed an octave. So I moved around to the side just in time to see one of the employees semi-flail her arms and then take a couple hops like a bunny on its hind legs. I was a little taken aback but not shocked because it looked harmless like she was excising herself from the slightly malevolent spirits of boredom after working there almost all day. But I was not sure because I did not want to look directly into her eyes. It was at that point that I realized my camera had not eaten so having missed recording that moment, I decided to take shots of the interior. As I turned toward the door to compose my shot, two Korean women walked in and turned right to the back of the store where towels, blankets and mattresses were displayed. If anywhere, I thought, that would be where the zombies would be sleeping, waiting to attack. But the eerie feeling was gone. There were no zombies in the store, and very few customers. And soon Woori Mart may be gone as well. read more

Woori Mart, is a home and kitchen shop that focuses on Korean made items. Beautifully displayed bedding and blankets are abound here. You may find kitchen utensils unique to Korean cooking and meal preparations. Prices are a bit high, however, most items appear imported. You can even find mahogany furniture that is on sale here and yarn for DIY crafts. Really nice employee here today. Answered all our questions. What a cool place and if you lived on Oahu we all have passed here. Obviously you're able to see from the outside it's a Korean merchandise store what you're unable to see is that the store goes alllllll the way back. Filled with just about every little for the home you can find here and it's fascinating...what's not fascinating is the price. I appreciate the cost of operation and the time and effort to get goods here on the islands but sadly with the Japanese version down the street it's gonna be that perfect difficult to find item that's gonna save them. It is a fabulous place with so much to see and I do recommend anyone to check it out as when you realize what you need maybe here. Woori Mart is the Korean version of Don Quijote minus the groceries. I have passed by this place many, many times as they are located where the Acura dealership (I'm dating myself) used to be which is next to where Foodland used to be. Hmmm is Woori Mart taking out all the businesses over there? I will leave that for those conspiracy nuts, I mean people. Woori Mart carries almost everything you would find in Korea. They have kitchen and houseware things. Things such as containers, utensils, dishes, those cute aprons, to rice cookers. They have some clothing, like pants, house dresses, to a huge selection of hats and visors and those crazy UV protection masks, and arm sleeves ( you know the one that protects your arm from the sun when you are driving or outside in the sun). They have a nice selection of bedding things as well and now on to the part why we came here. We were looking for a shoe cabinet since our old one was just beat up and looked hideous from all the moving back and forth. They had two sizes and different colors. The great thing about these shoe cabinets is that is 99% put together. All you have to do is to take off the protecting cover and flip the handle to the outside and it is done. When we took off the cover, we noticed a scratch on the front door, nothing major but a little irritating since we bought it brand new. I did notice a sign by the register saying no returns so it was a good thing I asked before I bought the shoe cabinet that if there was damages that i could exchange it for another to which they said ok. So after discovering the scratch and other blemishes, I called right away and spoke to a man and he said to text him the pictures to which I did and he said that I had two choices. One, to bring it back and exchange it, or he will be willing to give me a discount (BTW did I tell you it was on sale) on it. We wanted to get some more things, so we took the discount in credit so it worked out nicely. They also have other things like tables, book cases, laundry racks and I'm sure I'm missing lots of other things as well so go down and check it out for yourself. P.S. The shoe cabinet looked so good that our neighbor saw it and got one too. read more

Shopping in Honolulu... I've always wondered what this place was. While driving Ewa on Beretania Street, signs for Woori Mart are on the right side of the road after Foodland. I had time to look around, so I parked in one of their free parking spaces and wandered around. Hmmm... looks like Korean merchandise! There's all kinds of kitchen gadgets, appliances, towels, blankets and quilts, pillows, hats, sun protection items, house slippers, dishes, and more! Then, I found a room full of yarn - all different colors! This is no ordinary yarn - it's the type to crochet into dish towels! I've heard about this type of yarn... it's kind of plasticky so you can scrub your pans without scratching them! Ahhh! There were samples displayed on the wall to show what can be made! Cool! Well, now I know where to go if I need any Korean products. I did buy cute reusable bags that were made in China...haha! read more

IT is a bunch of useful stuff for your house. mostly Korean brands, but they have mostly everything including shoe horns! Even the flea market didn't have shoe horns, but this place did LOL! If u are used to paying Macy pricing for DonQuote type mechandise this is the perfect place for you!! In the old former former Acura location on beretania. It has cool covered parking (20 stalls?). The insides is very quiet and clean. This place has decent floor space and is packed with all kinds of quality (not cheapy stuff) korean by origin merchandise. They have alot of kitchen utensils...pots....pans..bowls ( cool korean black soup bowls) unique pans ..thermos...cups... I was in dire need of a Korean heating carpet since two of mine broke within a month's time (they were kinda old) and I couldn't find one with a decent price at the local supermarkets. eBay was charging an arm and a leg for one. One of my coworkers mentioned Woori Mart so I was very hopeful. I walked in and was immediately greeted by two ajumahs and I turned the corner and voila! There was a large stack of exactly what I was looking for and they were on sale! One of the ladies came over and opened a few of them so I could see the patterns and sizes and I picked my favorite color - blue. I walked around the shop and saw tons of Korean knick knacks, some things I haven't seen since I was a child in Korea at my grandmas house. There was also a sale on Korean blankets so I grabbed one for my bedroom. They are really soft and light enough to go in the washer and dryer. The label even says they are anti bacterial. I also picked up a cucumber peel face mask that I will be using tonight. I'm glad that I have discovered Woori Mart and I will be returning. This will be the easiest review ever! "Classy Korean Diaso" *clicks post review* YELP - ERROR! "Your review is too short" What do you mean I can't post a review of just three words? How lame. Okay, seriously, Woori Mart, located in the old Acura dealership is a classy Korean Daiso. Where Daiso has cheap, mostly plastic house wares for very low prices, Woori Mart has the high quality metal and ceramic versions of those goods with much steeper prices to match. Where Daiso gives you, "I can't believe how cheap this is!" feeling, Woori gives you that Bloomingdale's sticker shock triggering an involuntarily muscle spasm that returns the item to the shelf. Not to say that there aren't some deals as I bought a high quality ceramic peeler for $5, but my cheapskate friends, try to contain your shock. From kitchen and housewares, cleaning products, to certain apparel, and an entire room full of yarn to make the cleaning scrubbies, Woori Mart brings South Korea to Hawaii. You'll find cleaning supplies, pans, lunch containers, oil and salad dressing dispensers, a whole wall of kitchen tools, some women's clothing, Korean trinkets, men's ratchet belts, it is a great big store full of stuff. It is a pretty big store with tons and tons of household gadgets, etc! I purchased these great bento boxes for my son and my mother purchased a couple of sunhats. It's right after Foodland on Beretania so it's easy to miss. It used to be an ACURA car dealership long ago. KITCHEN STUFF/HOUSEWARE I don't even know how to describe this place. Everything is in Korean so I had no idea what things were for. The containers are pretty self explanatory but the gadgets look fun. They sell $650 rice cookers! FURNITURE They have random laundry racks, coat racks, book cases(?) HAT, VISORS OK This is what I came for. You know those Korean ladies who wear those ridiculously big brimmed hats?? Well I collect them. The bigger the better and if you know me, you've seen me wearing some of my ridiculous hats. Sun damage will make you look older. Think about it, have you ever seen a wrinkled Korean lady!? NO! Because they wear these hats so their skin never gets damaged/wrinkled! I go jogging with these big brimmed visors. I go to the grocery store, post office, and gym wearing these visors. But the other day I saw a lady with a visor with wings that retracted. When I asked her where she got it she only spoke Korean but it sounded like "Walmart on Beretania" so I tried this place and found it here! UV PROTECTION: sleeves, masks, neck flaps, etc! Yeah don't stop at the hats. They sell everything else you'd imagine on a Korean lady playing golf in the hot sun, even the hat that looks like a welders mask! I could spend an hour in this store! You'll also find lovely fluffy Korean futons and pillows, rugs/mats, home furniture, and the knick knacks that turn a house into a home. The only thing you won't find is Korean music CDs as the owner picks up the popular tunes on his frequent trips to Korea and only plays them in-store so you'll always hear the current hits while shopping. Woori Mart is Korean version of Bed Bath & Beyond. They carry affordable housewares to bathroom needs. They also carry Korean blankets with so many cute designs. If you're a Tupperware kind of person, this place is worth browsing through. They have little dusters to use inside of your car. If you want to get those yellow tin bowls and pots from 678 Hawaii restaurant, Woori Mart sells them here. If you need plastic wares for your lunch, they have many different varieties of things to choose from. The staff aren't pushy and won't pressure you into buying things that you don't want. I like to come here once in awhile to browse through things that might help me organize my house. Free parking is available. This is the same old location as Acura auto shop on Beretania Street. read more

For years I've been driving by this store on Beretania (next to Foodland) and had thought nothing of interest... until I started watching K Dramas and was surprised to see the commercial on TV! Aigo~ OMG! My mom and I finally took a drive to Woori Mart & was excited to see these hard to find authentic products from Korea. When you get there, parking is available on to the right side. The store in itself is well stocked with many home, furniture, kitchen, & houseware items. Mom lucked out on a great deal.. bought a buy one get one FREE Korean blanket! Ofcourse, I was happy to get that nice blanket! :) The yarn room was heaven for me, being a crocheter I'm happy to find a store that has so many selection of colors. The abundance of items are totally cool. Hats, skincare, slippers, massage rollers, rice-cookers, bbq grills, soaps, dishware, utensils, blankets, rugs, ironing boards and many more! Customer service was also good, helpful employees that greet and ask if you need some help. Will definitely come back to purchase another Korean silk blanket.. the one with the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. :) Now I don't have to buy it online or go to Korea to get some great items for family. I've passed by Woori Mart countless times and today I decided to let CURIOSITY get the best of me! Housed in an old car showroom, there's tons of parking when you pull into the driveway. I was unbelievable excited to cross off Woori Mart from my LIFE'S TO-DO LIST and hoped that I would not be disappointed. First things first: RACQUEL S and PUA P, this is your CONTAINER MECCA! I could be wrong but I love to organize and this is a HUGE TURN ON! They even have containers to house your RICE! I dream of being containerized on this level! Beyond containers there are tons of kitchen gadgets with everything from pots to pans to scoops to mixers. The owner and he's wife are very rude and mean. Their customer services are beyond imagination rude. They don't like to help customers and don't care. I this COVID-19 pandemic I spend more than $450 but I didn't had any bag to put it and they said it in very rude way that they can't and not allow to give free boxes or any bags because they'll get arrested and have to pay fine. It's against the law. I mean seriously??? Police have nothing to do other then arrest the owner & wife for giving free bag??? I bought more than $450 worth of merchandise and they seriously can't give any type of bags??? So I asked them for refund because I can't carry all those without bag or boxes. My mom went where few times and yes they are very rude with no manners. read more

One of many visits, always find something to buy. Today's find was a bottle for dressing $5.99 and a sheep pillow for $20 on sale. Most items are unique here in Hawaii from Korea. Pots, bowls, utensils, other quilts, blankets, bedding etc are excellent quality. Today there was one lady who was so helpful to everyone who walked in the store. For any person who loves or is borderline obsessive with keeping an organized and attractive home this is a fun store to browse. Filled with an assortment of colors, textures, shininess and practical cuteness. The massage slippers are impressive for some odd reason. Probably just due to the fact it's probably the largest selection in Hawaii. The floral covered knives are so cute that you wouldn't ever want to use them in fear of damaging it. The metal chopsticks were intriguing until I saw the 'made in China' sticker which made me immediately imagine it was dipped in lead or something else that's toxic. My Chinese great-grandmother would have probably slapped me for that but I am not taking any chances! There are many display signs stating the original price of items and their lower price which at times seems untrue but there are truly some good deals. Some of the items are a bit unusual and truly fascinating. Seriously, some Asian products are just incredible, unique and innovative. Even the Scandinavians can't keep up with them! The customer service was cold, unwelcoming and awkward. I wasn't greeted until I was standing right in front of them. Still, I enjoyed the store and the adorable plastic baby blue side table I happily walked out with. I will certainly go back for another table and various household goods that fits my budget. read more

The Korean home goods superstore! I've been to Woori Mart twice now and each time I find new things and try to think of reasons to go back. The staff are great and always so kind! I've purchased a great Korean drying rack, which has so much more practicality than my old drying rack. Folds slim and holds so many pieces of clothing once expanded. I've also purchased a kitchen floor mat. Great quality so far! Easy to wipe down and maintain in a space where food/water may get dropped on it. Also purchased a few other odds and ends which are all doing great. So many soft, quality Korean blankets, great selection of cooking tools (utensils, bowls, pans, containers, and more!), lots of yarn, a giant wall of body scrubbing towels, rice cookers ... the list goes on! Parking is very easy as the store has its own private lot. read more

I've been around this area a lot recently. I've never heard of "woori mart" before. I was waiting for my girlfriend and thought I'd do a little exploring. I didn't realize that it was small department store. They sell kitchen supplies, bedding supplies and other things. The employees were very nice. Greeted me as soon as I walked in and thanked me when I left (even though I did not buy anything). Everything was really close together. I was scared I was going to tip something over. Something that bothered me was the smell of the store. It wasn't BAD just strange and strong. It's a nice little store if you need something quick. As always the staff and owner are awesome people who listen to what I'm looking for. They help me find whatever is on my scavenger list for the day! Look for items that are on sale because the prices are slashed. There are the standard household and kitchen items you would find in other Korean stores. The Korean young lady (owner) at the counter is really RUDE and arrogant by discreamating customers depending on what they buy. She never allow customers to open items to check quality but instead being so rude and even angry to her potential customers. She said to her customers don't buy it. The young owner lady shows her anger in her voice and on her face often times unless you buy expensive stuff like $200 blanket. Most price are at least over $100 here. Luckily, I found better items at different Korean stores, such as 88 store or Palama or H mart or with much cheaper price. Even Ross has similar items with way cheaper price!!! I really don't recommend this store because the owner is really rude and also alot of items you can buy at other stores with much reasonable price. I think this store RIP off some local customers who just love K drama with charging very expensive price. We came for the YARN and we left with more. Woori Mart has a small room filled with skeins of Korean yarn perfect for crocheting the dish and pot scrubbers. The variety of colors made choosing fun. Other positives were the free parking to the right of the store and the friendly service. We asked for recommendations for places to eat nearby and since one of them was going to pickup takeout, he volunteered to direct us there. What endeared me to him was that he waited in his car at the corner for my car to catch up when I got caught in a little traffic. This demonstrated the kind of person that works there. Two stars ONLY because they have an abundance of stuff. This store is basically an overpriced Don Q or Marukai. I mean ridiculously overpriced dishware, utensils, etc. I understand it's imported but you'll find stuff just as good at Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Ross. Maybe even cheaper. Definitely less FOB looking (unless that's what you're going for-then no judgement.) And if you're not Korean, be warned, you might not get the same service as if you were one. Bought that mop thing in the window and I carefully and purposely opened the box in front of their view (so they didn't think I was stealing) to check if everything was inside before I made the purchase. This young girl came around and says "we have a sample right here." And just stood there staring at us. Told her I was just checking to see if everything's there. "You know, we check that for you up front. Are you going to buy that?" How the hell am I supposed to know you check it before I buy it!? First and last time here. If i didn't need that mop tonight, I would've walked out and never looked back. I guess no loss for both sides. They probably don't care about my business. And I would never go back. So we finally made it here. Parking is ample. Why? This place used to be an Acura car dealership! If you are into Korean cooking from scratch...this is the place for you. 24-cylinder, dual-overhead-cam, nitrous oxide enhanced, Siri controlled rice cookers aplenty! That'll be $600 bucks please. Makes a mean bowl of rice though. Pots made of stone for your stone pot soup (not stone soup you read about as a elementary student). Cute little containers that hold a few grains of rice. Large mortar and pestles for when you need an eye of newt and double double toil and trouble to go with your pricey rice maker. And very expensive Korean print quilts. I'm sure this place is useful for many people. But unless you make Kalbi-tang and Bi Bim Bap from scratch and have been doing it your whole life, you'd be best leaving the expensive Korean cooking and eating ware to the pros. Wait!
