I forgot that Hawaii has a strict statewide ban on single-use plastic bags at checkout. Most retailers do not provide bags, or they charge for reusable/paper bags. I visit this department store after doing a big shop at Nijiya supermarket for groceries and pick up western items that I am unable to find there. Their selection of supermarket items is impressive and the store itself is convenient as a one-stop shop for other things such as toiletries, kitchen supplies, pharmaceutical items, and much more. The aisles are wide so as not to disturb other shoppers and vice versa. It is clean and the store has two levels. I park near the online pick up parking area and am able to wheel my shopping cart right up to my vehicle. I have never experienced anything but courtesy from their staff at checkout which is a breath of fresh air compared to other supermarkets such as Whole Foods and Safeway. Their prices are competitive/reasonable as well. read more

The best target so far for local candies and snacks. They sell li hing powder coated candies and enjoy brand snacks. Boxed hawaiian host and mauna loa chocolates are $4-$5 ish a box and they also sell the macadamia nuts. Personally the bulk pricing I think its 4-5 boxes of the macadamia nut chocolates are $20 ish is a better deal than single boxes. This place is busy for cheaper snacks than ABC / 7-11 and the local snacks to take home are way cheaper here as well. They also have awesome clothing clearance items that I snatched while walking through the clothing aisle. Some staff can be friendly here but I think some staff get overwhelmed with the tourists that they can catch an attitude sometimes. This is a 2 story Target in which they have escalators side by side to place your shopping cart in. This Target also sell Fresh leis and Ribbon leis. The fresh leis are not cheap because they are fresh flowers. They do not sell Hawaiian sun powder mixes but have the jams/jellies. They also offer 6 pack cans of Hawaiian sun drinks for less than $4 here which is a bargain if you were to buy these singles at ABC. One of the Bus stops right in front of this store btw! read more

I've never loved Target until we finally got one here in Hawai'i and oh my gosh thrilled doesn't begin to describe the feeling once I learned Ala Moana Center would be home to one that I just couldn't wait to open and that was almost 8 years ago...so why did it take me this long to write a review...it was obvious too busy shopping! Bullseye playground my favorite area to start as it's filled with various deals starting at $1 and don't get me started on the seasonal items section that's on the upper level as well, the target brand exclusive items for food and merchandise are just too hard to resist...did you know that they have mini baskets which I loved and all locations has a Starbucks as well, the retail therapy for me here is real. My favorite review for not this location but Target in her area is Joyce W and she says it best along with a fun haiku that it's just convenient. I go for one thing and walk out with more than planned and still forgot to get what I needed lol and since it has it's basically own covered parking structure it's just too easy along with the drive up service though with times they're taking away what really makes them great are the price match and circle rewards but get the app as it's still gives you deals and coupons that will still saves you money making it the place to brighten up your space. The service here is really bad. Please bring back self-checkout machines. Cashiers are rude. They never say hello or goodbye. They just stare at you and do nothing until you ask them for help. They stand there watching you quietly. Their bad attitude made me almost argue with them. This is the second time they've been disrespectful to me in a week. Love this Target location! Easy to find things on its two story layout, lots of registers/cashiers available, and this location has lots of staff as well. Pickup parking is easy to locate and use. Starbucks available next to the kids toys section. Lots of room to walk down the aisles. My favorite thing is that the location always seems to be the first to have new seasonal items! Slow on the clearance but otherwise a great Target to spend your money out. read more

I wouldn't recommend to order online for a pick up order's. From my experience this happened twice so I order one item from electronic to be pick up it told me with in 6 hrs. Be ready but I left to go there once I got there I ask a associate about my item all told me it was still pending I was telling him but it from electronic section right down the from where there counter was they said it take up to 6 hrs. To pick up so I ask so for to have a refund how long will that take told me up to one day or couple hours. So I decide to wait I walk around the store for couple hours& waited lol at my phone still pending so I went home soon I was getting ready to for bed I got the email my order was ready for pick up I was so frustrated I back to the store to get the item. This Target is in a really good location because it's connected to Ala Moana Center, there's ample parking, and they have curbside pickup. The size of this store is small compared to the Target in Salt Lake. Since the store is smaller, there's less inventory/selection of products. During my last few visits, there weren't any workers around to restock or to ask questions. I end up opening the Target app to check if there's more inventory of a product, then go to customer service on level 2 and ask for assistance. I wish their produce, dairy, deli meats, and frozen food section was bigger because whenever items are on sale, those fridges/freezers are emptied out by the 2nd day. I keep coming back because their prices are lower than Walmart and it's on the way home from work. read more

Why haven't I posted a review on Target after all these years? I'm happy that Target is close and very convenient for me. Ala Moana Center is just a hop skip and away from home. With so much floor space of shopping, Target was somewhat blown up all due to so many high profile celebrities and influencers. So many various departments such as groceries, greeting cards, books, kitchen and home decor, clothing, accessories, personal care, office supplies, and snacks and even a Starbucks Cafe!.Everything in store is organized, clean, with well lit lighting. Self-Checkout is the best way to go. Lots of free ample parking too. read more

Target is your large size corporate type store. It has household goods, clothing, pharmacy, groceries and more. The organization of this store is somewhat confusing. I used the kiosk to search for an item which simply listed an alphabetical row and number. You had to find out where this area was! It took me awhile to determine what level it was on and it's system of alphabetical aisles. Relatively clean. The grocery section looked a bit messy. Everything else wasn't as bad. Lots of self checkout areas to make your purchase. Oddly, it only had the Target recyclable bag for purchase. No paper bags. Lots of free parking at the Ala Moana Center. Sales and stock persons look hurried and tired this day. I was about to ask one stock person where the aisle was that I was looking for, but he kept his head down, so I elected not to bother him. There was a sale on Good and Gather chips at 2/$4.00 so we decided to give it a try. The sweet potato chips were pretty good. No pictures taken today. read more

Thankful to have target in the area. We were on the hunt for basic breakfast groceries that were reasonably priced. The Waikiki beach area means $9 boxes of cereal and same with the milk. Didn't really see workers around as it was later in the evening but didn't need any assistance from anyone; it's a target, not much different from any other targets in America. Was able to grab some delicious Hawaiian teas that we don't have available on the mainland. I actually don't mind this target at all. I'm here a lot for my typical groceries and house goods as it's affordable compared to places like Safeway. The pretty much have everything you need. The only place cheaper than here is Walmart, and the last time I went there someone was being taken out in handcuffs. At least this Target has a little bit of sanity left. It's convenient to get to and always has parking. The fact that it's connected to the mall makes it easy to make a trip out of going to the mall and going here at the same time. The only annoying thing is this is another store that is now plagued by having all the stuff locked behind glass. It used to not be that way, and only in the last year or so did they implement that. It's just frustrating having to wait around for someone to unlock the glass, and then you feel like you need to rush to grab what you want so they can lock it back up, rather than having time to compare products. read more

I'm disappointed in this location, with maybe one cool thing. First off there is no button to push to open the doors for wheelchairs or strollers. Struggle at your own risk. Minus a few stars there. Maybe add one for having a cart escalator next to the human escape as it's pretty cool, though they say to empty your cart before using it. Then why do you have it? Why don't we just get another cart down or upstairs? And then I didn't know that I applied for and got hired by Target. At all the exits that I saw they are self-checkout. Had the worst experience at the register with cashier name Julie. One of the item I was buying had no tag on it and she started sighing so loud and giving attitude(was it my fault that the product didn't have a tag). I let her know that the size was the last one and all other ones are different size. Also, let her know where it is located (15 steps away from the register). She kept tying to put in some numbers and it wouldn't work. And after 10 minutes, I was fed up so I went to take picture of the barcode in different size and she put in the system and it was still not working (probably putting wrong number). She tells me to go get the item (Is she stuck on the register??). Me, my baby and my husband have been waiting forever so I just want to get out so I went to grab it for her. Now I come back with barcode, she asks me I want that size and I told her no. Then, she shove that one I brought into the hole below register with attitude sighing again! Then, I came home, the item has a tag! It's just so crazy. Worst experience. People like that should not work at customer service requiring job. read more

This Target store is new to me. I am a returning visitor or formerly kama'aina just noticed some major changes on this side of Ala Moana Mall. I walked from Walmart back to my hotel and noticed Target building blocked my view to the mall. Ok, let me take a look. Everything is upstairs. I hate to take escalators. But the air seemed pretty fresh. The menswear section looked fully stocked. Nothing special, however, I noticed this Target store was selling previous year's fashion compared to where I'm from. It was actually a plus. Because I missed few items as they were no longer offered. I'll bring a bigger luggage on my next trip to the island for sure. read more

Too busy of a store to remove self checkout. Don't see myself coming back as they seem to be going backwards

This location is convenient for townies and tourists frequenting Ala Moana Mall. I've been here a few times. BYORB or bring your own reusable bag. Cons: Difficult to find clothing in petite size and for shorter women. I pulled up a small tan jumper to my chest and realized the chest area sits at my tummy and hem length is too long. Oh well. Not meant to buy merchandise. Restrooms located on lower level. Merchandise displays are not conducive for quick grab and go. Search high and low. Feels like I'm roaming around in circles or trying to find my way out of maze especially when searching for a particular item and unable to find it. I've visited other Target locations on O'ahu and West Coast. They have more variety and abundance of merchandise. Fitting room downstairs has a long line. Pros: Free parking. Groceries: My hubby found 2 large frozen DiGiornio pizzas for $10. One equals $5. Entertainment: Roblox cards Replacements: I found a pair of brown, soft, and trendy slide sandals for $25. I also found comfy wireless padded sports bra which can be worn under active wear and regular clothes for $20. Both the last one in my size. Usually if I find the last item in my size, that's an intuition sign of thoughts, "Please buy me." Hahaha! Lots of active wear, swimwear, bags, and hats for the ladies. Expectant mothers will be happy to find a plethora of comfy maternity clothes. Plenty of kids clothes. There are no sales associate around except for fitting room and self checkout. I went to Target today to take advantage of some deals. I needed the Target app, which I didn't have on my phone. I was struggling with my phone (yes, I'm bad with technology and yes, I felt like an idiot). After a while the cashier had to leave and Noreen took her place. Luckily, the cashier explained my issues to Noreen because Noreen was soooooo helpful, patient and kind with me. And she was able to get that app on my phone pretty quickly. I'll give the store 3 stars because I find it so frustrating to always use an app but I give Noreen 5 stars. read more

Like that there is one in town. But Salt Lake location is alot busier than ala moana and they are able to have their curbside orders ready in 2 hrs. Ala Moana takes 6 hrs to fulfill the order. I dislike this target because of the poor layout and signage. The reason why this still gets two stars is for the friendly and helpful staff and how they had curbside pickup, the only way for me to wanna shop here again. This is the closest target to me and I've been coming here regularly for 1.5 years, and I could still get lost! First there are 2 floors, then there are multiple exits. They only had bathroom on the 2nd floor too and I would have to remember which section of goods the bathroom is in but sometimes even finding the Home department can be challenging with so many stuff and people around and so few signs. There is no sign at elevator or escalator landings so once you're on a new floor you'll have to figure out where to go again. Please put some signs at the end of the escalator like some good department stores? Then if you're shopping with a kid, good luck. Not only you'll have to give attention to the kid, you'll have to look for the stuff that you need throughout the store. And because there are two levels, you either have to find the elevator (good luck) with the kid in your cart, or you'll have to unmount your kid from the cart to take the escalator. Oh so much hassle to shop at this target. I'm just gonna stick with curbside pickup. (But also, good luck finding the entrance to the parking lot and the area for curbside pickup if it's your first time. I had to pin it on my Google map in the first place before I learned the way.) Store manager Kimi or Kellie came, to assist the cashier with the processing of my transaction. no courtesy, manners or service, both she and the cashier gaslighted me, making me feel like it was my doing or issue, just said that they have no information and control over gift cards, and that I would need to call the service line for support and promptly walked away. turns out, the cashier, whether unintentional or not swapped out my $100 gift cards for a $0 balance gift card. In my multi purchase transaction. We had her go through her area and found my $100 gift card in/top of her trash can. Beware!!! The service at this store is consistently known to be the worst of all locations and I can see why, in the disposition of the manager. read more

It's so hard to find anyone on the floor. I do not see anyone restocking. There is only one person on check out. 2 people at the orders and registry so I went to order pick up and registry. I needed help finding a size I already had the app so I let them know that the other stores already do not have the size. I needed to order it but because we live in Hawaii, they stock the item but they do not have the size anymore. Jill at the order pick up says they cannot order it to the store or order it for me or request to restock and let me know because they do not do that anymore. My only option was to order it myself and pay the shipping or to open up the Target credit card. Even if I was already coming to purchase other items that single item was already over the $35 minimum at the continental US and I was purchasing other items that would put me wayyyy over, Jill at the order pick up said Jill says it is the same thing and Hawaii does not qualify so the order pick up cannot help with the order. read more

Oy....not ym favorite Target I've been to. This one is LARGE *multi level) and located as an anchor of one of the biggest malls in Honolulu. Walking in, it's a MADHOUSE. People are everywhere, it's packed, and it's messy, It made me want to turn around and walk out. We were there jsut to get something to drink quick and a couple of personal items we needed ro our travels. We found what we needed and headed to the checkout area, which appeared to be all self checkout. AThe line was not really organized, but we found our way through got checked out and walked out as quickly as we could. This limited experience might be different than yours so to each their own, but personally I would probably try to avoid coming here if possible. read more

Whenever I travel, I like to pick up regional snacks--sometimes for gifts but mostly for me, the snack queen. Tourist traps will charge you an arm and a leg, but Target had pineapples gummies, Japanese crackers, and plenty of Li Hing Mui goodies. I was appreciative of the variety and pretty good prices, so I bought a few things. They even had candy leis (something that I know is probably a major thing for Hawaii...I'm sure most islanders can make them in a pinch, but for a Californian like me, it was nice to see!). I actually will not give any Stars because the Customer Service Reps did a terrible job serving Me as a Customer. This is not the first time that this has happened. It is actually the third time. I returned a Coffee Grinder that stopped working several days after being purchased. I was not greeted and informed that I could not do any exchanges or use the credit towards the purchase of the one I decided to buy. She made Me do a refund and than the purchase. I have shopped at other locations and never dealt with this kind of issue. I tried to do a return on a "Recalled" Blend Jet that Target called to inform Me of. The Service Agent was having trouble taking care of the Return because he apparently did not find it in the system because I had no receipt. He had Me scan My Targert Circle Member Barcode in order to try and resolve the issue. Instead of Refunding the full value, He gave Me the sale price and did the refund to My Credit Card. He made things very difficult. I left frustrated and not wanting to return to shop at this location. Today 04/23/24, I did some shopping. Once I got all I needed, I proceeded to the Kitchen Appliance section where I needed a Worker to get a Blend Jet for Me, as it was locked up. The Worker gave "great" Customer Service. He said I could purchase the Blend Jet at Customer Service along with all of My items. Once I got to Customer Service, I was greeted by the gentleman, not the female. I explained what was on hold. They had trouble finding it. Once they found it, I was expecting to be further taken care of. The female was "rude" and didn't offer to ring up the items I wanted to purchase along with the Blend Jet. She "Brushed Me Off" and sent Me to the Register to get rung up. I felt for the third time as if I wasn't a "valued" Customer. When I shop at the other locations, I am given "exceptional" Customer Service. I leave wanting to continue shopping at these locations. I know what Customer Service is all about because I am not only a Customer Service Agent, I am a Supervisor. I treat every Customer exactly the way I would want to be serviced. I am beyond disappointed because Customer Service is no longer taken seriously! read more

Deceiving. Bait and switch. My husband and I stopped by the Target at Ala Moana Center (1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Unit 2401) on May31,2025, around 9PM during our honeymoon, and our experience was unfortunately frustrating. We noticed a Shark Matrix robot vacuum clearly marked as a "DISPLAY" unit with a price tag of 1¢. It was obvious to us that this was either a placeholder or a mistake, but it was still prominently displayed, so we asked to purchase it as a discount "open‐box" item or at least for an explanation. We spoke with the store manager, Bryan, and an associate named Annette. They both told us that the 1¢ price was "a mistake" and that they do not sell display units. However, when we looked around, other display models in that section were already gone--so it seemed inconsistent that those had been sold off but ours suddenly wasn't eligible. When we pressed for clarification or a manager's note, Bryan simply insisted it was not for sale and that we were mistaken to think otherwise. We left feeling misled. If an item is labeled with a price--especially a ridiculously low one--you'd expect at least some attempt to honor a reasonable discount, or at minimum a clear "Not for sale" sign. Instead, we were told outright "no" without any written policy or alternative offer. Afterward, we filed a complaint with Target Guest Relations and also reported the incident to Hawaii's DCCA/AG. Bottom line: if you're browsing this store late at night, double‐check that any "display" tags are truly not for sale--because staff may refuse to honor them without explanation. It left a sour note on what should have been a fun honeymoon shopping trip. read more
