This downtown Daiso location has more things in stock compared to the Daiso on Piikoi Street. They are on Hotel Street in the former space of Love's Bakery and next to a printing shop. The store is small but it's clean and the shelves were filled with merchandise. If you can't find an item, ask one of the staff and they'll help you find it. They have signs posted on all the shelves telling you what the price conversion is since not everything in the store is $1.75 anymore. I recently learned that you could get parking validation for the Pantheon Garage if you make a purchase here. The validation gives you free parking for 1 hour and it's great for when you just want to swing by and pick up stuff on Saturdays.

If you happen to be in downtown, stop by Daiso. This location is conveniently located next to Marukame Udon on Hotel St. The store is compact, but it's well stocked with a variety of items. I was browsing the holiday goods, and I found Disney wrapping paper, Christmas paper plates, and gift bags. I found some cute birthday balloons and party flowers to decorate at a party I am attending. I also found a bunch of Sanrio stuff near the register. These items tend to sell out at Pearl City and Piikoi. but the downtown location has a bunch in stock. I quickly found my items and went to the cash register. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. She also handed me a flyer explaining the free 1 hour parking in downtown. She thanked me for shopping at Daiso ... and even drew a happy face on my receipt. It's the little gestures that warm your heart and make your shopping experience so memorable here.

Heard about daiso for years but never went. Been to them in Japan and enjoyed shopping there. This shop is one block from fort street mall and conveniently located. I bought some scented kneaded erasers, these are a GREAT buy, fun, good quality, and price. However, the ice tray I bought broke after a few uses. Terrible! I bought purse hooks, these were great, I missed having them so it was fun to discover them after not seeing them for a long time, they work great. Also bought a Bluetooth speaker for $6 and works great with my laptop. So I guess you get what you pay for and sometimes you get pleasantly surprised, which I guess is the allure of daiso the dollar and a half store.

Oh Daiso, you naughty little store with your cheap, cheap, cheap $1.50 quality, useful items and other excellent deals. It's hard to not leave the store without getting something. You'll definitely find something you didn't know you needed. Opening a Daiso in Downtown is such a welcomed sight. Albeit along a sketchy area along Hotel St, near Fort Street Mall. I want to say this is where Love's Bakery used to be, but I may be wrong. This Daiso is much smaller than the other stores, caters more toward people working or living in the Downtown area as office supplies will be one of the first things you'll see when you enter. There's also small kitchen accessories, cosmetics, toiletries, tools, and even a fake security camera if you need one of those. I needed a new rice paddle, and found one with two in a pack! Also got an oyster knife, which should work better than a butter or pairing knife. Always worried I'll break them. Last thing was 100 empty tea bags. Much cheaper than Chinatown! Overall, an awesome store with many useful items at only $1.50! Great deals! Friendly staff.

Third location of Daiso on the Island of Oahu in Downtown Honolulu! The newest location of the Japanese "one hundred yen" store opened on Thursday, January 20, 2022 on Hotel Street. It's good news for people who work in downtown because office supplies and knick knacks are just $1.50 (plus tax) - unless the item is marked at a higher price with a sticker. PARKING: I visited on a Saturday when there's free street parking in the Loading Zone. (I parked on Bishop Street.) There's also free street parking on Sundays and Holidays. SERVICE: the cashier that helped me was very cheerful and a great conversationalist. She was also efficient and welcoming! ENVIRONMENT: inside of the store was clean, neat, well lit, and nicely air conditioned. Outside - watch out for vagrants, unusual odors, and questionable liquids here and there on the ground... I was looking for air fresheners for my mom. She likes a particular one that she had found in the past. The other location was sold out and this downtown location didn't have any either. Shucks! I did find doggie toys for my fur nephew and fur niece. Luna loved her pink bone-shaped toy to pieces... Literally!!! Haha! Welcome to Downtown Honolulu, Daiso! Best wishes for success!

Who doesn't like a store full of items priced at $1.50? This location is quite small but it is filled with lots of items! I always walk out with way more than I was originally looking for. When I step through the doors I like Daiso tell me what I need. The entrance is on hotel street a feet from Marugame Udon.

Daisoholic is a real thing, thank goodness for keeping it real here and congratulations your third location. Though this location is the smaller of the three there never a shortage of curious shoppers looking for that item of inspiration, knickknacks, useful gadget or what my friend used to say tchotchke lol!! So many clever items that can improve the functionality for as little as $1.50 you just can't go wrong. Many with cute and fun graphics from Disney and Sanrio I find myself seriously bonding with it all immediately. This location is classically parking challenge though if you find yourself in the area it is a great stop as they also have snacks and drinks and who know that item you didn't know you were looking for ;-) Thank you!!

Have you ever gotten that Spidey sense of incoming danger? Well, I got the wallet version of that walking around downtown looking for something good to eat for lunch. A big ol' magenta sign with white letter beckoning me to spend all my money in $1.50 (or more) increments, hence the "danger, danger, danger" sense flashing. But, like a moth to a flame or thirsty woman drawn to an obviously bad for her can't resist the "but I can be the one to change him" jerk, we all piled into the brand-new downtown Daiso against our better judgement. The store is well lit, clean, air conditioned, very modern, with oodles and oodles of low priced Japanese designed goodies. From home goodies, cute toys, umbrellas, makeup, the works, it's all there. It's not a huge location, but they manage to pack a lot of stuff in there. I almost bought into temptation and grabbed magnetic spice jar containers, knock off Lego animal sets, picture frames, etc. Thankfully, the voice of reason kicked in and all I got was photos so I can measure to see if these items will even fit. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I will be back. We'll see if my voice of reason comes with me though to stop me from buying everything. Parking is a mess as always as it's downtown, but it's near Walmart so you can shop downtown and buy something from Walmart to get validated as a means of finding parking other than street. COVID Info: Mask required, and they have hand sanitizer at the front.

    These are too cute

Daiso for downtown Honolulu: a great reason to take a break and momentarily escape the confines of your home or office. This is Daiso's newest location on Hotel Street, adjacent to Marukame (Fort Street Mall). Daiso's merchandise truly grabs your attention, especially given the affordable $1.50 price point for majority of items. I find myself having to exercise restraint, as their stuff is so appealing. Check it out: you'll be able to find something that tickles your fancy.

    Diva G.

Daiso is located in downtown next to Marukame. I'm a bit bummed they opened up now that I rarely frequent the office. They have the cutest office accessories. I brought my littles ones with me one day and they had a blast. The lady was kind enough to open the door as I had a stroller. I was able to maneuver through this location just fine as we were the only ones in store shopping. I had picked up this acrylic butterfly hair clip and wish I had purchased more as I couldn't find it again. It's the smallest Daiso location on island but they still have a lot of goodies. You can park at Ali'i place and pay on your way out the lot, or find street parking around hotel street or along Bishop street. They will not validate your ticket whichever building you choose to park though.

    Lara L.

Anywhere I see a Daiso, I feel compelled to go in.... No matter how many in Japan, Korea, Oahu, California, Washington.... I must go in. This location is convenient for those in the dowtown area. Luckily, it is right next to Marugame!! :D Cheap...well, prices are on the rise, like everything else. You need to be careful and look at the posted prices. I made this mistake awhile back when the prices changed. When I went to the register, the cashier reminded me. But I bought the items nonetheless as I liked them and "needed" them. The store is bright, clean and pretty well organized. Staff are friendly :)

    Terrance Y.

Well Daiso opened a new store on Hotel Street whee! So of course being nearby I had to check it out! It is a bit smaller than the other two stores but with the same character, being in Downtown it would cater to those working and riding the bus through here. As pa to I get is a bit difficult in downtown.

Bethel and pauahi is one of the better locations to park on the street. No near parking on hotel street.

This store is located on a very busy corner of Piikoi and Young streets. If you are coming from the west and set your GPS, it will take you east on S King street, turning left on Piikoi, then left into the Daiso parking lot. Do not follow these directions! You cannot make a left turn into the parking lot because they have it chained off and closed. The only entrance to the parking lot is on Young Street. If you turn left on Young from Piikoi, you cannot turn left into the parking lot because there is a huge no left turn sign. I had to go down Young then turn around by Longs. Talk about frustrating. Finally got to the parking lot and saw a couple of open spaces. It is a small lot and spaces are pretty tight. There are signs saying to wait for the attendant as he directs cars. If there are no spaces available at the moment, you sit and wait for the attendant to direct you. Fortunately, I was able to grab one of the last 2 available spaces. From the outside, the store looks small but once you walk in and turn to the right, the aisles stretch the length of the building. The store is well stocked and clean. Somehow in this small space, they manage to not only pack in so many items but seems neater and more organized. I found what I was looking for which were silicone covers for bowls. The cashier that helped me was very nice and friendly and she did confirm that this location is smaller than the Pearl City store. Overall, I had a good experience here except for entering the parking lot. Best thing for next time if coming from the west, instead of coming down S. King St, come down Young St heading east and then turn right into the parking lot.

Don Quixote? The titular protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century Spanish novel, often considered the first modern novel? No, not him. Side-quest unlocked: Go to Don Quijote to looks at Trader Joe's-like bags and peruse affordable macadamia nuts. Imagine if a Japanese convenience store, Costco, Walmart, Japanese pop culture, and a late-night snack gremlin all moved into one building and decided to co-habilitate. That's Don Quijote, or as locals lovingly know it: Donki. Don Quijote is Japanese discount megastore in Honolulu where you walk in for one bottle of water and somehow leave an hour later with Japanese cheesecake, body wash, a rice cooker, novelty socks, a plush penguin, Spam musubi, an ankle brace, and at least one item that made you say, "Well, I've never seen that before." Every aisle is an adventure. It's part grocery store, part pharmacy, part souvenir shop, part beauty supply, part snack paradise, and part "why are they selling this and why do I suddenly need it?" The shelves are packed to the ceiling, the signage is loud, the deals are good, and the whole place feels like a treasure hunt designed by someone who drank three Red Bull Kyoho Grapes and said, "More products! More fun! No empty shelf space!" The Honolulu location is also gloriously open 24 hours, which means it serves a very specific and beautiful type of chaos: jet-lagged tourists like myself, night owls craving Japanese curry, and people making questionable but spiritually necessary 1:11 a.m. purchases. TL;DR, Don Quijote is less of a store and more of an experience. A slightly overwhelming and delightfully unhinged retail adventure.
